"No more purges!! No more purges!!" was the resounding chant of a large crowd that had assembled on the steps of the Palace of Kings. Amongst the crowd members were those holding up stereos that blared "The International".
Standing on in the darkness was Princess Mary, the princess had changed much over the years, for with the power she wielded as her weak brother's controller had come corruption and with all the purges she had committed came hardness and callousness.
Standing next to Mary was her favorite lover, Willhuf Shalen, the commander of the Royal Guard. All of the guardsmen feared Shalen and his policy of "Discipline through Fear".
Staring coldly out at the rebels Mary's blue steel eyes narrowed "Kill them all darling" she whispered to Shalen "Kill every living thing in the streets of Tagistead. For we shall not be pleased until we purge them all". Shalen nodded and as an evil smile crept over his features "Of course my lady, we shall kill them all" after a few moments Shalen raised his voice "Guardsmen! Break up this assembly, leave none alive!!!" The guards nodded and turned to the crowd, then fired their assault rifles.
"They are shooting our people!!!" was the news that spread throughout the so called "Red Underground". The news was met with cold dread wherever it went, and the shock was especially hard for Kurt Bruasagnic, who had tried to keep the masses calling for an armed revolution quiet, but no longer. “Comrade Leader we can no longer ignore the cries of the people, we must arm and declare an independent state” said one man. Kurt shook his head “I had hoped for a peaceful change of government, but now Mary and her lover had made that impossible. How long till the room is ready Comrade Reinin?” Reinin looked at his watch “No more then 5 minutes Comrade Leader”.
“People of Tagio and all who hear this message! For too long have we suffered now under regimes that have not cared for the people! I had hoped for peaceful transaction of power with the coming election, but the purges of Princess Mary have made that impossible! It is because of this that I hereby declare an independent Soviet Socialist Republic of Tagio with its capital here in Ramona, though I ultimately aspire to make Tagistead our capital. I also declare myself, Kurt Bruasagnic, Comrade Leader of Tagio until this is over. I call for every freedom loving man, woman, and child to help us overthrow the evil regime of Mary and Shalen her lover and to unite Tagio under the banner of freedom for all! I ask for our brother Communists to help in our cause against the oppressors!”
In Tagistead the news was ill received by Mary. “Who does this mind warping pig think he is!!” she screamed “Shalen I want you to crush this petty rebellion in three months. Troops are no problem for I can simply persuade brother to make you supreme commander” Shalen smiled broadly “Of course my lady, we shall crush this puny rebellion within weeks, no one can save them from me”. “Good” replied Mary who had finally settled down and was trying to comb her hair “And if you mess this up Willhuf you can say good bye to my body and my bed!”
