Communist Louisiana now accepting foreign embassies

Communist Louisiana
18-10-2004, 03:29
With an increased need of diplomacy in a world of ours today, Communist Louisiana would like to launch a massive diplomacy effort being pushed forth by Premier Jindal.

With this said, Communist Louisiana would like to offer embassies in the capital city of New Orleans, Louisiana, CL. Each facility will house all diplomatic officals from nations wishing to have representation in Communist Louisiana. More than 4 miles of property is being set aside for these new embassies. Time is running out for you to have stronger diplomatic relations with Communist Louisiana.

OOC: I'd like to RP this with you, but I'm not sure how. I've avoided getting involved in a thread where you showed up first. Maybe the "mirror world" idea is the way to work this. I control Louisiana, Mississippi and the port of Mobile, Alabama via agreements and stuff when the NS country of the Antebellum South collapsed. I'm a puppet of Mauiwowee too. I profess too have control (via an alliance with the country of Texarkania) over all the oil production facilities in the Gulf of Mexico and Texas. I want to avoid incongrous conflicts, but I'd like to assert my "control" over the same territory yoiu claim. ideas?

OOC: OK, how about this, I'll RP only Mauiwowee in threads CL got into first and act as if Norleans doesn't exist in such threads if you'll keep CL out of threads Norleans got into first. On the other hand, CL and Mauiwowee can RP all they want. reasonable? btw, I don't RP Norleans much at all and tend to keep their stuff local so as to avoid this potential problem.

Dear Sirs:
While we are at odds politically and directly in Euroslavia at this point, we take the position that an open dialouge between our countries may be of benefit in the future and in resolving our differences. We are therefore willing to offer you a small embassy in Mauiwowee in exchange for the same in New Orleans. As a show of good faith, we will allow you to design and build your embassy building in Buddsville in exchange for the same courtesy in your country.

The Royal Architect and his men arrived in New Orleans without problem. With the CL escort assigned them they toured the city and settled on one of the pre-approved sites for the embassy near the Rue de' LaFourche. Inspired by the architecture of New Orleans and the Antebellum history, a Plantation style manor, similar to Ravenaside in Natchez, MS., with just a touch of Longwood and Rosalie, just up the river, surrounded by a high brick wall with wrought iron gates was decided upon. The grounds, would of course, be landscaped like Magnolia Hall's.

OOC: I have lived in Natchez, MS., New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Lafayette Louisisana in RL. I'm well familiar with the areas, except for the street name, all the other names are real places. In fact, I got married in Magnolia Hall.

Also,be reasonable(I.e. don't load the embassy with spy equpement or nuclear weapons.)If someon have problem,we bring it up and discuss, right? You agree?

Hail Comrades,
This is Yuri Gorgopov, Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Democratic Socialist States of Pentova. Our congress voted today upon applying for an embassy within your highly esteemed nation, and that is why I am writing. Here are their requests. They are negotiable.
1. Free donuts and pizza, any time.
2. Heli-pad for transport helicopter.
3. Clearence for five (5) armed Jaguar Warriors to guard the embassy. They will not leave embassy grounds.
4. Ten (10) foot high wall around the embassy.
5. The embassy should be sovreign soil, thus, it is Pentovan ground.
If you do not find any of these proposals fair, write me back with negotiations.

A majority of the land is in North New Orleans along the coast of beautiful Lake Pontchartrain in the Bucktown. Since the lake has a canal to the Mississippi River, we allow nations with embassies to move non-military ships to the International Docks in the lake. Civilian passenger ships, research and scientific vessels, etc. are allowed to move in and out of the lake freely.

A map of the area:

We find this agreement acceptable, and will site our legation around the specified area, about a few hundred yards west of the Causeway. We do not need a large site, just something large enough to hold an Embassy staff and a maximum of five guards.

Can the staff live off the grounds, or will they have to live on the Embassy itself?

BTW-When can we establish normalized trade relations? We have displayed our goods, and await a response, if it is not too much trouble.

I think you said you have rice and sugarcane up for trade? The state of Louisiana in Communist Louisiana has a massive sugarcane industry and the southwest part of the state along with parts of Arkansas grows all of our needed rice. We fill that we must protect our industries in the such so things like that are not to be permitted for importation.

Both iron and possibly uranium do hold interest to us. We have large coal deposites already so we do not need coal at this time. We are interested in electrionics and other industrial goods if your nation could provide us.

The Democratic Republic of Vas Pokhoronim will provide Communist Louisiana with an embassy on the outskirts of our capital, Nrsk-Novsk--believe me, it is better than being in the city--located in the old manor-house of the Counts of Krlovsky, on the slopes of Mount Krlov. I hear there is good skiing. The usual rules of extraterritoriality will apply. The Sovereign People have made the necessary renovations for the sake of comfort (wiring for electricity, setting up central heating, chasing out the ferrets, cleaning the bloodstains, that sort of thing), and the People of Communist Louisiana are of course free to make whatever reasonable modifications they may require.
As for our own delegation, we do not need much. An office downtown, perhaps, or an Airstream trailer parked next to a helipad. Our Ambassador, Nlyvka Vzdravytsya, will arrive whenever it is convenient.

We request audience with representatives of the Louisiana government. We hope to hold a diplomatic conference either in Brasilia within our borders or in your capital of New Orleans. If we meet face to face, it would be easier to establish relations with ease.
