Aztec Lands Air Force Storefront- cheap helicopters to cutting-edge fighters

Aztec Lands
17-10-2004, 05:46
This is a storefront for aircraft that are modern. No Mach 3 stealth fighters here. A plane can be a fighter or stealth- the F-22 is somewhere in between.

Sales may be delayed due to wartime status.

Medium- as with the F-22, a performance fighter can never be truly stealthy. While it is almost invsible (even more so with the radar off), the engines do give off a rather large heat signature which is only visible from close range.

Description:
This aircraft is not for sale as of yet (10/14/04 RL) as it is still entering our forces. However, if the Aztec Lands choose to begin exports, you must pass a brief background check. But this aircraft is THE next-generation killer, THE highest-performance air dominance fighter out there.

"Grey Fighter"

The Aztec Lands Imperial Air Force disavows all knowledge of this aircraft. This is a model reconstructed from a photo (now confiscated) reportedly taken of a "special aircraft" sighted in an airstrip on the Barrier Islands. Speculation as to what exactly it is raves among aircraft fans, who have claimed it is everything from a stealth fighter to a recon aircraft to an improved C-5.

"Black Fighter"

This model was constructed by the same modelist. Speculation also rages about this aircraft.

"Long Bomber"

Reconstruction of a bomber shot down over Aztec National League airspace. It was flying at over Mach 1 and above 75,000 feet. It has stealth skin, but was not 100% stealthy, as it was shot down by an ANL SA-XH high-altitude SAM. The ALIAF recoginzes that this aircraft exists but has not released a photo or any specifications of it.

Max Speed Mach 2.25 without fuel pod
Cieling 19,258m (63,150ft) under normal conditions
Record cieling: 26,024m (85,360ft)

OR

3x Conventional/C/B/N air-to-surface missiles on pod (if no bombs are carried in the near-fuselage mounts)

Hardpoints/Bomb Bay:
No bomb bay

For a total of TEN hardpoints- if each one has a tri-mount, it can carry 30 bombs that do not exceed the weight limit

OR

1x "central pod" that holds fuel and a nuclear warhead or 3 mounts for 3 nuclear missiles or bombs

Radar array:
Can track up to 24 objects up to 75 miles away
Joint Radar Link

Stealth:
None, but it does have a crewmember and jamming equipment to confuse enemy air defense
Chaff/flare dispensers

Description:
Designed in the 1950s by the USA to create a Mach 2 bomber. It initially lacked range until invention of the central pod, which houses fuel and a nuclear warhead. We have added three hardpoints on the pod itself. We have also added hardpoints on the wings to allow the use of non-WMD. With in-flight refueling, this thing can go 5,000 miles easy. ICBMs killed it for the USA, so the Aztec Lands got them all cheap. In the 21st century, you need a bomber that gets there fast.

PRICE (camoflauge, insignia, ammo not included): $155 million

PACKAGES:
MARK I: Replaces tail 20mm turret with a rearward-facing radar and two rotating hardpoints that can engage targets both in front and behind of the bomber.
ADD $11.5 MILLION

Single-crew light attack and anti-armor aircraft (close support bomber)

Equivalencies:
Su-25 (USSR), A-7 Corsair (USA)

Powerplant:
2x 4,500 kg of thrust (9,921 lb of thrust) engines

Performance:
Max Speed 950 km/h (590 mph) at sea level
Cieling 10,000m (32,810 feet)

Armament:
10 hardpoints on wings can carry up to 4,400kg (9,700lb) of ordinance
1x 30mm tri-barrel cannon

(Typical armament can include bombs, guided missiles rocket pods, cannon pods, napalm, mine and bomblet dispensers, and short-range air-to-air missiles.)

Radar Array:
Air: Short-range radar can track targets up to 25 miles away
Ground: Medium/Long range radar can track stationary targets up to 60 miles away and mobile targets up to 45 miles away
Laser: Aircraft equipped with laser guidance, FLIR, and DLIR for use in guiding bombs. Can operate with less emissions this way with radar off.

Stealth:
None, but aircraft is equipped with jammer in former second cockpit,
Chaff/Flare dispenser

Description:
This is the aircraft your troops need. Designed to fly low over the battlefield, evading large SAMs with the terrain and evading shoulder-fired missiles with its low-level speed, chaff, flares, and jammer systems. Less suited towards attacks against fixed targets- this is an aircraft for the battle. The crew module is armored and the whole plane designed for 100% reliablity under fire.

COST: $12.5 Million USD

Packages:
Trainer- removes avionics in rear cockpit, adds a rear cockpit and flight controls.

NO CHARGE.

OOC: Some very nice stuff, and definately worth looking at. However, you may want to fix that little typo on the range of the C-5. Not good to have a mix-up like that so close to the top. The B-1E has that little oopsie as well.

Also, you should tweak the radar capabilities just a bit. Specifically, the number of targets that can be tracked is constant, and is based on the processing abilities of the aircraft's computers. Range has absolutely no effect on it.

Finally, you might want to change the ranges. Those listed would be accurate for 1950s and 1960s tech, and on the low end for 1970s. They would also be fine if they mean combat radius, but actual range for modern aircraft is generally in excess of 2000 miles for fighters. The Tu-22 and B-58 both had ranges of about 3500 miles (would be more with more modern aircraft).
