(OOC: First time RP, give me some time to learn before judging me, please?)

Dr. Nicholas Vachant sat in the presidental office, nervously reading through his speech one last time before the broadcast would start.
It was only 2 days ago that his faction managed to wrest control from the corrupt former government, and people on the streets were afraid of the current situation and uncertain about the future. It was about time they were addressed by someone they knew, and had the recent events explained to them.

Pro-Patria used to be a normal democratic country since long ago, but about 30 years ago an isolationist-party won the election and ruled ever since with little to no chances for the opposing partys to do something about it(partially because they had the electional system changed during their first governmental term). Despite this isolationism, Pro-Patria kept it's heavy focus on technology and information technology. Years ago, governmental plans started to include all of the citizens in a network of sorts. All should have computers, all internet access, all mobile phones, and ID-Cards with special chips on them became compulsory as well.
With a recent breakthrough in neurotechnology, things changed. With the advent of the so-called NeuroPlug(TM) Technology, serious problems came up. Technically it was a node unit on the side or back of the head. While not anywhere near the future vision of creating a kybernetic conciousness with several people, nor able to transmit information beyond a very subconcious level, it did have some remarkable aspects to it. First, it allowed a person to slightly influence the chemicals released in the brain, allowing them to intensify joy or dampen pain. It also allowed two interlinked users to kind of 'share' their emotional states with one another. And it allowed a medical central network to monitor the physical state of all citizens equipped. Naturally, it became compulsory for new citizens to have oneself enhanced that way. Thats as much as the public knew. There was a darker side though. The governmental system would monitor certain thought directions. It would use the system to influence people. To arrest people on suspicious behaviour alone. To research and influence consumer behaviour. And, to influence elections, despite them being a farce anyway. With every new version released, hopes for an resistance against the system paled. And the government had the system advanced quickly...that was not what it was intended for though. Dr. Vachant was one of the leading scientists that developed the system 16 month ago for the good of the people.
4 month ago, he found out...and modified his own system and that of others who did not wish for this to continue.
In a quick action involving support from large parts of both the military and police force, the current government was overthrown, captured, and imprisoned...but he was getting carried away, it was time to address the people:
"Dear Pro-Patrians, my name is Dr. Vachant. Most of you know me, if only because of events that took place in the past few days. I can assure you that this seizure of power was in your best interest and will only be temporary. As we speak, we are preparing for regular elections. I am sure you also heared the rumors about the former governments actions. All of those are true, proof will be made available to you shortly. For the time being, you are asked to carry on with your lifes as you used to. This is a hard time, for all of us. The situation definitely is not normal, and it should never have come to this. But at times, one has to act while there's still an opportunity.
I'd also like to address other nations, who no doubt will be eager to know about Pro-Patrias future as well as you, my dear co-Pro-Patrians. In the best interest of our citizens, our isolationism should end. We'd like to open up diplomatic channels with our neighbours once more. All of the political partys that are to be voted for agreed on that, as did X-0. Alice, please take over from here..."

OOC: I'll work out more background(map, details, culture) once i get to know my 'place', aka neighbours and or potential allies. Basically Pro-Patria is supposedly a technocracy, with an experimental neural net named X-0 supporting the government. All decision power is still in human hands but as technology is held in high esteem throughout the country, so is X-0. Sorry if stuff sounds a bit future-tech, it's not supposed to be. All those technologies are heavily experimental and only very rudimentary.
Also, it is lacking in other compartments. Our military is very very small at this time, luxury goods are just that, a luxury, and foreign culture as well as religions are viewed rather suspiciously.
I'd look for some nation/Region/group of nations to take me in as a minor ally for the time being. Kind of like Technological Research and Production capability from my side, Militarian protection and a High-Tech market for certain goods from their side. The next election and which party will win will mostly be flavour-stuff depending on potential allies.-

His emperorship,Alexander the I,the enlightened one,of the Alexian Empire,congradulates your goverment and your people for ridding yourself of the insane and oppresive overlords that formerly ruled.The Emperial Goverment has taken strong interest in creating favorable relations with your country.

A word of advice though.The Emperial Goverment suggests that your party maintain relativly strong control of the country,despite results of the election results dictated by the ingnorant pro-litariate(that means poor,I think) for the good of the people of course.

If you would like,we are willing to send 10 million dollars for the rebuilding of your nation,and 2000 law enforcement officers and 1000 paramilitaries,fully equiped,to help stabalize the country.The will of course,be placed under the command of your goverment.You see,we are trying to give them real life experience,so it would be a win win situation.Also,we may offer you any crowd control equipement you need(I.e,teargas,barriers,trubucheons,plastic shields.).Of course,this is all only should you want it.If you do not want this arrangement,the emperial goverment will not pressure you.

In the current state of affairs, we are more than willing to accept help offered. Things are calm atm, but the atmosphere is tense.
We'll accept the 10 million dollars as a loan which we hope to repay shortly after order has been restored. The law Enforcement officers and paramilitaries will be used to help guard important infrastructure and will be stationed mixed with Pro-Patria's troops(as mentioned foreigners are still viewed rather suspiciously. we do not want to provoke incidents).
Naturally, while stationed in our country, we will try and sign their paychecks. We _ARE_ a economically powerful nation, despite the current situation.
Our police forces current supply of Crowd control equipment should be sufficient though, as we actually don't expect any significant riots, nor uprisings, to take place after today.

Your help is much-appreciated, and your acknowledgement of our nation as a member of the international community is something we're thankful for. We'd be happy to create favorable relations with your country as well.

(OOC: While not exactly planning on converting into a police state, thats one reason for a technocracy. Through X-0 Mr. Vachant and his faction WILL maintain control...)

(supicious of foreigners?Wow,mine too!You see,we were invaded,and I naturally thought afterwards that for a while that no outside military forces could be deployed in our country for fear of reviving anti-occupationist groups and such and had to argue with 400 people and............anyhow.I just thought it was a cool co-incidence.)


The Emperial Goverment is most delighted that you've accepted our offer of help and will dispatch all the aid immediatly.And you may have misuderstood.The money is a gift from the emperor directly to your people,from his personel treasury(as the public exchequer is already strecthced far too thin,as we are currently rebuilding the nation after a goverment change AND an invasion wich occured but days afterward,although the emperors personel treasury is mainly stolen public funds anyhow,but anyways.)and their is no need to pay iy back.

The personel in your country will be placed under your command of course,and we will pay them,to save you the paperwork and nuisance,espicially seeing as their are boys.

Hopefully are nations will be able to continue such favorable relations in the future.
