HM begins phasing out human military forces.

A study of combat effectiveness recently determined that while humans make up most of the worlds armies they are rather inneficient at armed conflict when compared to other races.
Much effort was expended in this research and the final determination was that the human forces of Harmonia Mortrus were obsolete, and shall be retired.
This will result in a significant decrease in forces for a period of a few years while the posts are filled with other species.
Currently the forces will be comprised mostly of Goblinoid and Troll forces, both of which are MUCH more suited to the battlefield environment than humans. One exception to this new rule is the Thaumic Weapon Forces, mages and such. Other species, while better at physical confrontation are not as proficient at magical talents as humans have proven to be.
The Navy/Air Forces will also retain their human forces.

The current military consiting of some 450,000 men/women/things will be reduced to 100,000 before finnaly being rebuilt to an estimated 3/4 million troops.

We are also putting out a contract for the following:

Downsized assault rifles suited for use by Goblins:
Goblins are MUCH shorter than humans, but have about the same physical strength. The current problem is simply the length of the rifles. An M-16 is rather like a claymore to a Goblin, nearly as tall as they are.
So, we would like a rifle more suitable to their uses, but capable of performing on par with modern weapons. It needs to be somewhat simple to operate as Goblins are not the most intelligent beings to come into existance.
A similar pistol would be welcomed as well.
(A reward of $750,000 for the design plus expenses is being offered for this design, 1.2 million if the pistol is included. Purchase contract will be awarded as well.)

Heavy artillary suitable for use on ships. Currently most of the HM navy mounts smoothbore blackpowder cannons. These are fairly effective against infantry and tanks, but against well armoured ships we cannont compete.
The gun needs to have a barrel no more than six feet in length, while the carriage cannot excede 12 feet.
A similar contract is being awarded for deck guns which can be larger.

What is the approximate height of your average goblin? Further, what inbuilt systems do you require fopr the weapons (infrared, lowlight, acoustic, et cetera)?
~Emulated Magicka, Inc.

Do you also require the support technology (loading mechanisms, magazines, et cetera) for your naval guns, or do you require the new weapons to be compatible with your existing structures (manual loading from piles of shells) ?

Most goblins range between 3 and 4 feet.
While we do not wish to purchase 'addons' as yet it would be nice if the weapon had the capability of mounting them.

Manual loading would be acceptable for the naval guns, as you know our ships arent exactly 'modern' ;)

We found that a mix is of human and "other" forces make for a most efective army. I mean all we would need to get rid of your goblins is some iron. Were as a human would be unaffected by said iron.

Luna I:
Stepping on a Goblin is a bad idea.
One of three things will happen:
It stabs you in the foot, then cuts your throat
It bites your toes off, then cuts your throat
It jumps onto your back, then cuts your throat
Basicaly Goblins dont have any more agression than your average human, the thing is that its compressed into a smaller space and so its under more pressure when its realsed.

Camel Eaters:
We were planning to keep the human command structure, since, as has been noted, Goblins are not overly intelligent.
We also find that iron is very effective against humans, whether in blunt crushing form or in sharp stabbing form. If you refer to magics inability to affect iron and similar metals then you are mistaken, Goblins have iron based blood similar to human blood, which is a great source of amusment to many Goblinologists who make jokes about 'Hemogoblins'.
Goblins are not magical, they are pure physical beings and while a good iron bar is very effective against them, its just as good at dispatching humans, large birds and possibly trolls.
Perhaps not trolls. It would take a while during which time the troll would most likely turn you into a thin grease stain on whatever surface you are standing.

This is most interesting our goblins are effected by iron but our goblins are also highly intelligent. Oh well TROLLS ROCK!!!

Entrusting your military to Goblins? Well, we wish you the best of luck.

Camel Eaters:
Oh, our Goblins are a bit intelligent...its just highly specialized. They tend toward areas such as anatomy and explosives.

Crossman:
We will be keeping the human officer corps, and our rather unique command structure plus a near omnipotent leader (Within the country, anyway) help keep things in order. Hooray for Keepers.

Normally i would love to sell you firearms but with a self imposed restriction on not RPing with magical/fantasy nations it is difficult but soem advice:

IIRC goblin arms are about the same length as human ones but tend to drag on the ground due to smaller frame, if this is so then you coudl well get away with using bullpup rifles if not then you are stuck with carbines, your best bet would be say a short barreled (12") memeber of either the M16/M4, XM8, HK33 or G36 series chambered in 6.8mm SPC. actually an HK53 chambered for that ammo would be an interesting weapon. With smaller weapons you aren't goign to ge tthe rnage but you can get the power...

Interesting to see ork/goblinoids that aren't basically a type of fungus...

Well, technically Im a space nation...I have sort of flying sailing ships :P

I always thought of my Goblins as having 'normal' length arms for their size, but thats just my nation. Ill take your suggestions into account though :)
