Earlier Today.

A band of terrorists, who call themselves the Tekanian People's Communist Revolutionary Party, have seized and are holding school children hostage at an elementary school in the provential capitol of Prince George, New Dominion, The Constitutional Republic of Tekania. Earlier today, a few children, sons and daughters of some of the Republics standing Delegates and Senators were shot in cold blood. Indicating the unwillingness of these terrorists to act in a peacable matter towards their fellow citizens. The Tekanian 3rd Republican Militia unit was dispatched, and are presently surrounding the school, and attempting negotiations with these terrorists.

President of the Republic, Eric D. Williamson had this to say at the national press conference this afternoon. "We are attempting to negotiate the safe release of our children, and negotiations are being attempted for a peaceful end to this dispute. Though their cold blooded execution of some of the children has made this hard at this point. We've offered to allow their own deportation to a nation of their choosing, in trade for the release of the remaining children, and a return of the bodies of the ones they killed."

----

Later...

In response to the attempted negotiations, the Communists executed other children of local and provential office holders. The Militia has been ordered to subdue the terrorists with all possible force. The militia has moved in, and began assaulting the school. President Williamson has indicated that any captured terrorists, will be charged with high treason against the people and citizenry of the Republic, an offense punishible by execution by firing squad, once of the very few capitol offenses left in the Republic.

----

Much later...

The assualt has been completed. of the 40 terrorists, 12 were captured alive. the rest were killed in the assault, of the 150 children at the school, 50 bodies were recovered, and 30 more injured. The surviving terrorists are being held at the militia compound in Prince George, pending transfer to the Federal District of Yorktown, to face arraignment and trial for high treason against the citizens of the Republic.

OOC: Is it just me or does everybody always try to portray three evil terrorist stereotypes:

Nazis
Communists
Islamics

Please get some new terrorist groups...

IC: Tenarius has no comment on this situation.

OOC: Well, I can understand to a degree why they do this and it's a matter of getting other nations attentions and often making a political statement. Given the number of fuckwit Communist Nations making the rounds these days I don't blame some people taking their displeasure out on them in a well writen anti-terror role-play.

While I would prefer some original background story as to why a group of people are rebelling in such a manner, at least this thread is well written.

IC:

Iuthia offers it's condolances for the terrible losses your nation suffered from the actions of these terrorists. We understand that your government tried it's best to offer them a peaceful solution and then took what action it could to protect it's innocents.

This is both a sad day for your nation and a sad day for the communist cause.

Be it noted, the Republic is taking no action against communists in general, or even other official communist parties who operate within the Republic. Our actions will only extend to the prosecution of those we have captured in this incident. The names of the individuals will be presented in context with the arraignment, and official list of charges within the next 24 hours.

It could take weeks before the official trial comences, which will follow the conveining of the Grand Jury late next week.

OOC: Actually I am going to hold trials in public display, at which point more background will surface.
