A little History of the Sovick nation....to those who care...
Over the past few months, the international community has gotten a glimpse within Sovick boarders; and to many, the glimps isnt a pretty one.
The Sovick Government, in an attempt to keep order, has issued a memorandum to the nation; the memorandum outlaws all anarchist groups from speaking their mind in public; it has also is completely anti-terrorist in wording. The Act of Illegalizing Anarchists has caused some stir within Sovick boarders, and the stir has gotten a little "bloody". People believe the government is stepping on their civil liberties, while the government thinks its keeping the nation safer.
Before the Act was passed, there was an abnormal quantity of anarchists groups throughout the entire Republic. This was due to the Old Regime under the leadership of the corrupt Premier Krovk. After the fall of his "blood thirsty" regime, the entire country fell into a horrid Civil War, followed by dozens of mini factions ripping the nation apart, and then followed by the rise of complete disorder and "anarchy" after the countries military collapsed.
A few years later, order was restored with the institution of a Republic, headed by Chairman Tursky, a radical reformist who spoke publicly out against.
A few years later he died and the economy and nation as a whole was in turmoil and on the verge of collapse again. To the rescue came Slovkonov, a regular politician with no huge record to his name, who took the position of Chairman over the fragile Republic in an attempt to keep it together. Within a few years, he had stabilized the economy, crushed the other factions, and built up the army to keep order.
After the initial wave of stabilization occurred, the anti-government groups still posed a major threat to prosperity. Over the next 10 yrs, the government had no idea what to do with all the protests, assassinations, suicide bombings, and skirmishes.
Now it is the present and the new chief executive of the Peoples Republic of Sovick is the thick hided Chairman Goric. Unlike his predecessor’s, Goric took the "bull by the horns" and began brutally crushing the protesters. Legislation has been passed to ban all anti-military rallies, all anarchy protests, and terrorist cells.
Since there are such a high number of proclaimed anarchists within the Sovick nation, the legislation to ban them went over like a lead balloon. Within weeks of the Illegalizing Anarchists Act being passed, huge anarchist rallies gathered in the nations largest cities. But to their surprise, Goric's government didn’t keep huddled up as all past government leaders had; he brutally suppressed the rallies, and imprisoned tens of thousands.
Now, the nation has dozens of work camps were the keep all the “threatening” people from harming society.
The brutalizing crackdown on rallies has left the Goric Regime with a lot of blood on its hands. There is an estimated 150, 000 deaths that have occurred with more than 750,000 people in work camps.
