NEW NAVAL projects

IDF Defense Industries with the help of the War Department is looking into new submarine projects.

The 1st project is a new "tunnel drive" system to propel SSBNs. It will be slower, but very stealthed and able to be used on SSGNs too. It will be expensive and is in the test phase on 24 foot models of the new Jericho class SSBN/SSGN. Billions are being funded into the program and results are promising.

The 2nd project is this, the new Jericho SSBN Project 864. It is very large with 36 SLBMs able to be launched from her. She is built for stealth and is still in the design stage. The picture we have thus far is what will be our original version (MOD 0). It will be powered by a very large screw.

In about 10 years, we may have a Mod 1 version with a tunnel drive system, but that is down the road.

We are developing an SSGN version in conjunction with the SSBN.

Construction has begun on 5 boats of each type (all Mod 0s).

I'd like more info. on the tunnel/catipellar drive system, an idea as to how it works, the technology behind it. We may be interested if we can get a little more info. We manufacture and sell subs too, perhaps you've seen our designs. But we're always interested in improvements and technology exchanges and cooperation.
