The latest from Hyland-Nikolaas Industries: The Multi Use Dual Stage Torpedo System. The Mk 66F is a dedicated mine, with only one stage, but the Mk 99I, and Mk101k have two stages for extended ranges as Torpedoes.

The Mk 66F 'Satan' Independent Mine System

Length: 4.2m
Width: 533mm
Weight: 850kg
Warhead Weight: 100kg
Guidance: Passive Sonar. Once anonamly is found, LIDAR, Active Sonar, and MAD kick in. Forward Pumpjets kick in, and rotate the mine so it is facing targets heading. Fire control system calculates intercept point. Normal movement is done by terrain mapping and pre-mapped waypoint map. GPS transmitter allows crew to see where it is.
Propulsion: Normal Pumpjet for propulsion, Supercavitation for attack phase, 400kts.
Range: 14nm.

The Satan is highly difficult to detect, and can be deployed in large numbers. The mines are very accurate, and the 100kg warhead is actually overkill, due to the 400kt speed being able to shatter any keel. The mine is launched from VLS tubes, or torpedo 21inch tubes.

Depth Range: 450m

The Mk 99I 'Jaws' Independent Heavyweight Torpedo/Mine System

http://img30.exs.cx/img30/1849/mk58s.png
Length: 5.79m
Width: 53.34 (21 inches)
Weight: 1660kg
Warhead Weight: 400kg
Guidance: Passive Sonar. Once anonamly is found, LIDAR, Active Sonar, and MAD kick in. Forward Pumpjets kick in, and rotate the mine so it is facing targets heading. Fire control system calculates intercept point. Normal movement is done by terrain mapping and pre-mapped waypoint map. GPS transmitter allows crew to see where it is. If Jaws is fired in a torpedo mode, it can either use wire gudiance from the launching vehicle, or use the aforementioned SONAR. Jaws will go into a terminal run using it's Sucav warhead, or if it does not find a target, can become a mine.
Propulsion: Normal Pumpjet for propulsion 35 miles at up to 70 knots, Supercavitation for attack phase, 400kts.
Range: 50 miles.

Jaws is highly difficult to detect, and can be deployed in large numbers. The mines are very accurate, and the 400kg warhead is actually overkill, due to the 400kt speed being able to shatter any keel. The 400kg is used to utterly annihalate Battleship keels. Two or Three will easily sink a Doujin Class.

The Mk 101K 'Orca' Independent UltraHeavyweight Mine System

Length: 7.56m
Width: 533mm
Weight: 2960kg
Warhead Weight: 1000kg
Propulsion: Normal Pumpjet for propulsion, Supercavitation for attack phase, 400kts.
Range: 50miles.

Orca is highly difficult to detect, and can be deployed in large numbers. The mines are very accurate, and the 400kg warhead is actually overkill, due to the 400kt speed being able to shatter any keel. The 1000kg is used to utterly annihalate Super Battleship keels. Aircraft Carriers fall easily, along with Doujin class vessels.

Torpedoes to be added soon along with Prices.

Mk105 'Tempest' Ultraheavy Torpedo'
Length: 6.6m
Width: 1 meter
Weight: 29484kg
Warhead Weight: 6350 kg

Guidance: Principally, the Tempest uses passive sonar and LIDAR for target detection, along with inertial guidance relayed from the sub upon launch. The Tempest also has active sonar and MAD for late phase and terminal run guidance.

Propulsion: Pumpjet engine. The Tempest is extremely quiet, and can also be used at depths exceeding 1km. The maxiumum speed is 70 knots, but usually a quieter speed is used.
Range: 250 nautical miles. The enemy will never know who, or what, hit them.

The Tempest is highly difficult to detect thanks to extensive stealthing features. One blow from this weapon will destroy or mission kill virtually all targets. Think of delivering 28 or so Harpoon missiles to one spot. Now imagine that spot being below the waterline, where the armor is less. The detonation of a Tempest below a ship will break a carriers back, a direct hit will almost vaporize frigates, and blast other vessels in half. When you really, really need it do die, choose the Tempest. Tempest can be fired by using external pods on most submarines, and they are designed for stealth and hydrodynamics. However, some UCSNE submarines have 1000mm VLS racks for such weapons. They can also be ship launched.

Mk58 MADCAP II
The Mk58 MADCAP (Most ADvanced CAPability) torpedo is the standard torpedo of the UCSNE submarine fleet. The MADCAP is a heavyweight, 21 inch torpedo. Powered by a pumpjet propulsor with MHD assistance, the MADCAP is capable of speeds of up to 75 knots, but this is usually not used to take advantage of the possible 40nm range. However, with Lorentz Turbulence Control, it can increase speed by 15 knots or range by 10 nm without any noise increases, in fact, it often makes the torpedo whisper silent with cavitation along with active and passive noise reduction. It has wire guidance capability, along with Passive/Active SONAR and BGLIDAR. The MADCAP usually carries a 700 pound Thermium Nitrate warhead, although other warheads types exist, such as Plasma Yield Devices. The Mk98 is the nuclear version of the MADCAP.

Are these for sale? The Tempest sounds like just the kind of thing I'd like to see hit a barge full of stale cheetos........what?

Yes, they are for sale.
New Empire
20-10-2004, 01:38
I suppose... You want 'em individual or prod rights?
Sileetris
20-10-2004, 01:40
Production rights for the Tempest class if thats at all possible. Even though I don't plan on it, they could hold small nukes if needed, correct?
Artitsa
20-10-2004, 01:42
Aye, but production rights are generally given at $100 Billion. Of course that price can be bartered....

Small? A Mk48 can carry 1kt tacticals... The Tempest can carry about half the payload of a Trident D-5 in terms of nukes...

I'll offer you both rights to the new technology I'm developing; External hardpoint shrouds(link in signature, check the last page or the first post). If you feel this would be useful and you could see the value of it, I'd like to offer it to both of you as partial payment. The rest will come in cash, and if you don't want the tech I'm perfectly fine paying fully in cash. So what do you think?

Actually, I've been using a system similar, EHSP (External Hardpoint Stealth Pods), for a bit. They also can link with Athena.

We'll take the cash payment... (Wow, sileetris buying stuff... A rare occasion!)

Hey, do you guys think you could design a superheavy torpedo for me? I'd like it to be 36 inches and have a range of 80-100 nautical miles. Warhead is no big deal, although ideally it should have one greater than 1,000 kilograms.
