http://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/amx/images/img1.jpg
The BM-3 lightening is a light bomber designed for Close air support and fast ‘lightning’ raids. Thanks to its light weight, it has the ability to land on very short runways and even large motorway sections, which makes it a perfect choice to use as a carrier fighter.
Weight
Basic weight empty: 5,000 kg
Maximum TO Weight: 13,000 kg
Max. Internal fuel: 3,000 KG
Armament: One 30 mm internal cannon, 5000 kg weapons load on 9 hard points
Performance
Max level speed at altitude: Mach 1.8
Max level speed at sea level: Mach 1.2
Service ceiling: 17,000 m
Max rate of climb: 15,000 m/min
Radius of action in air-to-air configuration with external fuel: 1110 km
Radius of action in air-to-ground configuration with external fuel: 1000 km
Standard range: 850 km
Dimensions
Length: 13.23 m
Height: 4.55 m
Wingspan: 9.97 m
Gross wing area: 68.88 m2
Power Plant
Engine: 1 MAE-32-TJ
Max. Augmented thrust: 156 kN
Max. Dry thrust: 109 kN
Specific fuel consumption (dry): 12.4 mg/Ns
Weapons
The MB-3 is capable of carrying most general-purpose munitions as well as Cluster, GPS and laser-guided bombs. In addition to these it also has the ability to carry up to 5 storm shadow cruise missiles (4 under the wings and one on the centre line hard points, Although it is recommended that 2 fuel drop pods are carried on the 2 remaining fuselage hard points when carrying this configuration) But the carrier configuration of this airframe is limited to only 2. like most other air craft it carries 2 sidewinders on the wingtips for protection and can be used as a light fighter with most as it can carry most air to air missiles that are available.
Cockpit
The MB-3 cockpit is fitted with three flat-panel liquid crystal multifunction displays (MFDs), wide field-of-view head-up display (HUD), and a helmet-mounted sight (HMS). Also fitted to the HMS visor is a direct GPS and radar display.
Radar
The MB-3 is equipped with an MRG 239 phased array effective up to 100Km The is able detect up to 39 different contacts in its area at one time with a passive IFF receiver operating at all times along with a active threat receivers. With an advanced terrain mapping System built into the attack radar giving much better accuracy when on a bombing run. It also comes in handy when low-level flying.
Countermeasures
The MB-3 is fitted with a standard ME204-63 Fuzz ball which is equipped on all ML Military aircraft and has been proven as an effective countermeasure against most SAM missile. Flares and chaff dispensers are also fitted to underside of the plane.
Cost : $32 mill
