The presidental elections have begun today in Holy Paradise! The citizens have given President Holtz the popular vote. However, the votes that get a canididate into office are made by world leaders! So vote now! Here is the lineup:

1. President Holtz(Conservative/Republican Party): President Holtz is the current leader. He has widely improved the national economy and military since he came to power 4 NS years ago. He has a tough stance against drugs, abortion, gay marriages, and embryonic stem cell research. He has supported research of stem cells from adults, though. In a vote for favorite presidents, President Holtz destroyed the competition with a whopping 93% of the votes. He has greatly improved the country's military and has turned it into one of the world's industrialized nations.

2. Governor Larry Hallen(Liberal/Democratic Party): Governor Larry Hallen is the underdog here. However his government record rivals that of President Holtz. He promises that if he is elected, he will allow drugs, abortion, gay marriages, and stem cell research. He also plans to cut down on the military budget and provide free healthcare for all Holy Paradise citizens. He also plans to make college free to attend.

We give our support to President Holtz. May his victory be assured.

When asked about the start of the space program, the two candidates had extremely different opinions:

President Holtz: "I believe that this space program is a benefit for all of Holy Paradise and the world. We already understand much of our world, so let's be one of the pioneers of a new NS age: the space age!"

Governor Hallen: "I think that this space program is a waste of both money and resources. We could be using that money for free healthcare and free college funds! We also need to spend more money on this country's enviroment."

When asked about enviromental issues, the two candidates had almost similar opinions:

President Holtz: "True the enviroment is important, but not as important as humans. Right now as our country reaches its economic glory, we cannot spend too much money on the enviroment. However, I am pushing for a bill I have code named, "The Beautification Act" which if passed will have a 2% portion of the budget go to enviromental revitalization. Currently our spending is bypassing the enviroment completely. Right now though, I am more concerned about this country's economy, defense, and morality then the enviroment."

Governor Hallen: "My opponent is not going far enough. Our country's enviroment is one of the worst in the world. If elected, I will support the bill proposed by President Holtz, but I will increase spending to 10% of the budget on the enviroment."

Like we said, Holtz has our support. The Imperium is a space nation, so... there you go.

The Governor has our general support. While we do think he goes a little far when it comes to space exploration and environmental protection, we do agree with his plan for free healthcare, legalization of gay marriage and drugs, and the reduction of the Holy Paradise military.

When asked about the colony of Holy Paradise Islands wanting to gain independence, the two candidates had very different opinions.

Pres. Holtz: I'm all for it. They are about 1,000 miles of shore and are way more lawless then the mainland. I believe that by letting them establish a firm, yet wise government, it will both benefit them and us. Sure it will loosen our grip of power, but wasn't this country lawless at first? Yes it was. The first settlers would have gone into self-destruction if they didn't make a constitution. It will also improve their lives. Also it will help improve world relations.

Gov. Hallen: I'm against it. There's no reason for us to completely loosen our grip of the colony.



Gov. Hallen's statement has even made Holy Paradise liberals mad, saying that that is fascism.

I the representative of the civilians of Holy Paradise Islands, support President Holtz and hope he is re-elected. We will keep our name, however as we have great ties with Holy Paradise.

The Holy Paradise government has decided to vote for President Holtz.(The President can't vote for himself, but the other branches can)

Pres. Holtz: Governor Hallen is a great man. I respect him. We have met before and we are good friends. So for me, this is a win-win situation. I am hoping though for re-election.
