The force had been building up for days. On the border between Hole Punches and Hogsweat, the Hogsweatian 8th Army Corp had been massing its strength. Colonel-General Peter Bridges surveyed the crumpled list he had been handed by a logistics techy-
200,000 battle ready infantry.
10,000 Armoured Vehicles
4,000 artillery pieces.
250 Supporting aircraft
He snickered. The Punchian defence forces couldn't withstand that, let alone fight it. He grabbed a map from his tank, and a red pen. He scribbled on some notes, some lines, and grabbed the radio.
"Bridge speaking. All artillery units gather in positions Zebra through Utah. Over"
There was the clank of heavy guns as the crew brought the 155MM AS-90's into position over the Punchian city of Crumblesville. Looking at reports from intelligence and recon, he guessed around 10,000 troops, and some 200 tanks and artillery. There was a flood of reports as he got the affirmative of the artillery in position.
"Bridge speaking. 3, 2, 1... OPEN FIRE!"
The some 7500 artillery pieces let shell after shell loose down on the city of Crumblesville.
"Infantry, in position. Groups Alpha through Tango, move up"
Around 160,000 of the infantry fixed bayonets and charged forwards with their battlecry of "CUCL RGW UBRWEBLRUIBLW!" [Viva La Internationale"]. Around 1000 of the T-88 Armour moved up to support them and they deployed on the edge of the city.

"Were under fire sir" screamed the infantry man to his captain". Colonel Jack Rayner, leader of the punchian 7th had been expecting this for some time now. He snatched up his radio,"bravo 3, can you hear me" he shouted into the handset,"we hear you sir", replied the sergeant.
"O.K i want you to give those artillery units every thing you've got". And with that all 200 of the artillery units sprung into life, artillery shells flew through the air and found there targets, some explosions could be seen in the distance. "that got there attention", eclaimed the colonel. He picked up his radio again "bravo 10, can you hear me",
"we hear you sir", replied the commading officer of around 25,000 infantry-men. "I want you to take out as much of there infantry as you can."
"yes sir", replied the voice from the radio, and with that 25,000 or so men charged forward.
"how are you doing bravo 3?",
"Doing good sir", replied the seargent,
" I want 60 of your crew to take out those tanks coming round the left flank",
the 70 artillery units adjusted there position and rained shells upon the enemy tanks.
The colonel picke up the radio again," bravo 7, i want you go round the riight flank and take out troops and artillery",
"yes sir", replied the commanding office, he closed the hatch of his challenger 2 tank and him and around 200 other tanks sped off.
"If we die, we're gonna take some of that scum with us", murmured the colonel to himself.

"Sir, armoured units on Left flank! [My left is your right]."
Bridges did some quick calculations, and ordered the lieutenant to use his master plan.
"Lieutenant, order armoured units Mango through Utah to engage enemy armour.
[Around 4000 tanks] Send infantry and artillery forward and deploy in blockade formation in the gap after armour clears route."

The T-88's charged forwards, guns firing as stabilisers kicked in allowing the 122mm cannons to engage at speed. They blasted holes in the Punchian tanks as the infantry behind fixed bayonets and charged.

Corporal Smitzer loaded in another shell, wiping his forehead. There was a clunk as it entered the breech, the whirr of it being sent to the barrel, and a boom as it exited, coming down somewhere on top of the Punchian artillery. He sat down on the moist grass, taking a drink from his cup.
KABOOM!!!
A shell whizzed through the air, smacking head on in front of the artillery piece next to him. Smitzer grabbed a radio, as his crew frantically reloaded.
"GENERAL! INCOMING ARTILLERY FIRE. WE NEED CO-ORDINATES. OVER"

The pathfinder brought up his laser sight, training it on the rumbling Punchian artillery piece, directing the co-ordinates to Bridges where they were forwarded to the artillery. There were blasts of heavy artillery as 2000 of the guns retaliated against the Punchian artillery.

"This is bravo 7, were taking hits from the enemy tanks, we need assistance",
"hang in there bravo 7, i'll get bravo 3 to back you up", the colonel switched the channel of his radio, "bravo 3, concentrate all your fire on those tanks",
"yes sir", replied the voice from the radio. The artillery fire stopped, the long barrels moved to the right and began firing. Artillery fire rained down on then tanks, one scored a direct hit tearing a tank to pieces.
"Whats your status bravo 10?", enquired the colonel,
"we have just made contact with the enemy front line, thats all i can tell you at the moment sir",
"thanks bravo 10", replied the colonel. "this is bravo 7, what do you want us to do", cam the voice from the radio,
"stick with the original orders",
"yes sir", came the voice again. The colonel lit one of his favourite cigars and sat back in his chair.
