SPECIAL REPORT: The Communist Nine.

After just a few days, the Aztec Lands has reached a decision on the nine terrorist sypmathizers. The courtroom was silent as the cameras were allowed in for the first time- to see the verdict. The arbiter (judge) speaks:

The case was virtually guaranteed- with the exception of the two pilots, all have a criminal background and are communist sympathizers. Two of the men have already confessed.

"I, Arbiter of the Aztec Lands Imperiall Criminal Court, declare you all guilty of High Treason and sentence you to sacrifice on the temple at dusk, today. Guards, please take them away."

The men have a short few hours to live as the case concluded at midday. Additionally, in a sweep of arrests by the Imperial Investigaton Bureau, over 250 known Communists have been arrested. Most were either leaders or those who were willing to use force to spread their message. Several human rights groups, including Amnesty International, are already writing letters of protest, but the Emperor has been deaf to them before.

"We have to end this crisis quick." said the Emperor as he walked from the palace to his car to oversee the trial. "The economy is nervous: A few weeks ago we were at "Very Strong" UN Classification, now we've fallen to "Reasonable." I admit, some of my decisions have made the markets a bit slower, but those were necessary tasks to keep this nation from becoming a waste dump. Then the bombing. All I can say is for people to work harder, as we need to climb out of this recession immediately."

The sacrifice, which today will be to Xipe TotecXipe Totec (http://www.pantheon.org/articles/x/xipe_totec.html) , meaning that the victims will be flayed before having their hearts removed.

We will pay 50 Billion USD for the release of each prisoner.

What do you think we are, some European-based civilization that will accept a bribe? Ask the victims if money will recompensate them for their loss!

We have provided extra security, including three UH-60 Blackhawks loaded with snipers and Air Calvary troops: in case of an emergency, they can fastrope down. Crowds are expected to be in the 10,000 range.

The prisoners are led up the stepped pyramid, dressed only in a loincloth, being whipped by memers of the Royal Guard dressed in traditional Aztec uniform. Each one brandishes a whip and a holstered pistol. One falls a few steps before being stopped and kicked back up. By the time they reach the top, their backs are bleeding and red. All in the name of Xipe Totec, whose sacrifices were flayed.

The Emperor had spoken before the prisoners came up. He denounced the communist terrorist movement. He stressed that there would be no worker revolution in the Lands- and that workers were being treated fairly. He mentioned worker satisfaction rates climbing for the last few years.

The first prisoner, the pilot, was chained to a post by the high priest and two aides. The two aides brutally whipped the victim for around five minutes, switching to a bladed whip mid-way- it cut into and under the skin with the blades at each end. The back of the victim was completely torn. Blood ran down the pyramid.

The priest and aides laid him flat on a table. The priest took out the gold ceremonial knife, used since the ancient times, and plunged it into his chest, removing his still-beating heart. Blood gushed everywhere.

"May your communist blood run red." cursed the priest.

He gave the heart to the aide as he dumped the victim and let him fall down the steps of the pyramid. Two aides at the bottom drained the blood, skinned the victim, and burned the body.

At the horrible sight, one of the prisoners attempted to flee by jumping off the stairs and onto the large steps comprising the Aztec pyramid, but he broke both his legs and was merely dragged up again.

The process was repeated for each and every prisoner.

A shot rang out from one of the snipers in the helicopters overhead.

You do know that by killing these people, more citizens in your nation may see them as myarters(sp?) and may cause more communist backed violence.

And just a warning, if the voice of communism grows, Communist Louisiana will stand and fight for those who are oppressed.

They can think whatever they want to- Xipe Totec is pleased. The fact of the matter is, we will not bow to those who seek to radically alter our government violently. The killing has only begun- we are still looking for whoever did this.

Yes, this ordeal was for the sympathizers. We're still thinking of what to do when we find the real people.

Addit.- we will be conducting a poll to see if the citizens approve of the Emperor. Obviously, the Zapotec, Mixtec, and Mayan territories will probably score lower, especially the Zapotecs, but there is no large-scale dissent.

That's odd...we can't find any humanitarian clauses in our laws. However:

-This was an execution. Normal ritual human sacrifice is by random lotto
-An overwhelming majoirty of Aztecs would be ready to die (74%) and over 90% approve of it.
-While we don't plan to call for the death penalty again unless we find more people who aided the terrorists directly, it *will* be instituted once we find the terrorists.

The Confederacy of the South has been appalled by the recent events that have taken place in the Aztec Lands. The Confederacy, though not wanting to get involved with International affairs, has brought the matter to the attention of it's people. Most of our military is space age weaponry. We have neutron cannons on our battleships.

Also Caldaron Imperial Intelligence has known for some time now of cities that employ energy shields, however well hidden they may be. Those are rumored to have stopping power to all of our energy weapons.

OOC: I don't like to brag since my nation is barely a superpower, but the invaders really are outclassed here. It's hard to keep the playing field level.

As of now, the Isles of Wohlstand will close its borders to all Aztec Land citizens and peoples. Anybody that enters the country after the closing of the borders, from Aztec Lands will be dealt with by the Internal Security Forces and will be tried as terrorists under the Wohlstand government. From there, they will be relocated into a work camp for a minimum of 10 years. After their service of work, they will be exiled from the country, and if caught again, they will be shot on sight.
