Commodore Michael Prescott was an officer of the Commonwealth Navy. It was something he was born to be. For in every generation of the Prescott blood line could be traced to a naval service. Traceable all the way back to the wet navies of Sol and England’s Royal Navy, it is even said that a Prescott’s hands are stained with Nelsons blood as he fell from his mortal wound at Trafalgar.

Knowledge of this history was possible because Prescott’s father was not born a WIckian, intermarriage was becoming more common, thus the altered DNA of the Wickians begin to intermix with more “Normal” strains, providing interesting results. He stood a minute (By Wickian standards) 5’2’’ and was only of average build lacking the super dense and well defined muscle structure of a pure blooded WIckian. However the one thing that would have set him apart from a pure blooded WIckian was the fact that he had hair, and red hair at that, which he wore proudly in a long thick braid reaching to the small of his back. The only eye striping visible was the ends of the azure blue streaks that curved around to the front of his face.

He was standing on the bridge of his Flotillas flagship as it slowly decelerated from the alpha band of hyperspace a good distance from the normal hyper-limit of the Sith occupied Ebaq system. It was a slow and well calculated translation that would be all but impossible to detect from sensors in the Ebaq system. And that was the point, he wanted nothing to do with the system itself, no his raiders were here to disrupt the trade of the hyper-lanes between Ebaq and other Sith possession.

His “Revenants” were comprised of Sixteen Edson class raiders, along with ten Mosquito carriers with a lance of Hawkbat DD’s as escort for the tiny carriers. (Stats of these ships found here: http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=362904 ) A half dozen probes were slowly launched into hyper space each admitting a small hyper shadow, that would hopefully interdict incoming convoys.

The ships of the flotilla now waiting with their ECM at maximum and under strict emissions control, as they waited for their prey to reveal itself.

The Transport fleet labelled as A1-B12 was heading towards the isolated and heavily defended system of Ebaq. Deep within the hyperspace core these ships were beyond any sudden help or quick retreat. There was only one hyperspace route there and back. The large concentrations of star systems meant that using hyperspace in any other direction apart form the lanes would most likely result in your ship colliding with a sub or a planet, no matter how smart the AI was the region of space was just not charted well enough.

The transports guarded by a few Tie Fighters and a small Corvette were making their way towards the system. Now almost within its boundaries something strange was being picked up on the scopes. Some unrecognised vessels.

Captain Mare opened a wide band hailing frequency hoping to get their attention or at least for them to move out of the way. “This is captain Mare of the Galactic Empire. You are in restricted space, leave at once or you will be fired upon.”

“No response captain.”

“Launch the fighters, and order the transports to band together, tell them to arm their weapons.”

“Yes Sir.”

OOC: info a Lance is four ships. A Wing is twenty LACs .

Prescott noticed the response of the enemy convoy and laughed to himself quietly. Intel said they had good sensors , but I bet that they’ve only picked up the carriers and their escorts the his DD-R’s and LACs ECM was simply too good to be picked up on any sensors at this range.

“Well lets be about it then…” Mumbled Prescott to himself...seeing the small escort for so many tanstports, I have a bad feeling about this he thought to himself. “DD-R Lances Beta and Charlie are free to engage the transports, Alpha has the corvette. Order the Hawkbats’ to provide suppressing fire. Tiger Wing is free to engage enemy transports, Hawk wing is to swat those TIEs from space then help with moping up the transports.” With those orders the specified units moved rapidly to their positions.

Prescott glanced at his communications officer, “Transmit in the clear message to follow.” He paused before continuing. “I am Commodore Prescott of the Commonwealth Navy. A defender of Thetis, and the innocents your kind murder wholesale. Today we fight back against the night today we fight for those who you have silenced. To day you die…FOR HONOR! FOR THETIS.”

Just as he spoke thee final words of his speech the Hawkbat’s opened fire sending 20 missiles at the Sith Corvette. Tiger and Hawk wings fired their first tri-packs of missiles at either the enemy freighters and Ties respectively, sending 60 missile each towards the Sith. A follow up broadside would occur in 4 seconds and by that time the energy range would have been reached.

The DD-Rs attack would have occurred approximant 20 seconds after this waiting to close to energy range to finish the corvette off, no less then 8 150 cm grasers were shot at the corvette enough to penetrate the sidewalls and armor of a WIckian Battle cruiser. A lot of hurt was sent at the Sith Convoy in a matter of seconds by the well disciplined Revenants.

Something about this seemed to easy to Prescott so he ordered his interdiction drones to cover the area between his force and Ebaq proper as a shield. He also purposefully kept most of his force in reserve for the moment.

Prescott watched as the used he ordered into the fray devastated the enemy convoy. He still could not put his finger on why he had a sick feeling about this whole affair. He made his move though what would the Sith do in response?
