Overview
The Vila-III Sureveillance Submarine, also known as the V-3, was commissioned by General Mitchell Craig seven years before war broke out in The Burnsain Desert. Burnsian Armories Limited (B.A.L.) was surprisingly unaffected by this conflict, and so continued to design and develop the V-3. The vessel was designed as a submarine so that it could still maintain somewhat of a low profile, rather than displaying an open act of aggression with a surface vessel.
Mission
The V-3's mission is to, in peacetime, keep surveillance on friendly and neutral ports, shipping lanes, and coasts. It is equipped in the latest optical, audial, and computing equipment from B.A.L.. It has no stealth features, so it is clearly not a war submarine. There is a possibility of a new sub, the Vila-IV, as a wartime tool.
Electronics
As previously stated, the V-3 has the latest investigation and interpretive equipment in maritime technology. Utilizing several different sensors, the V-3 achieves its mission. Currently utilized is the dual "Eye" class telescopic lenses, which use both digital and visual zoom, as well as several other electronic enhancements. They are able to use infrared, night vision, and high beam spotlights.
Besides the "Eye"s, there is a large sensor array that can be retracted and extended (only when above water). This has radio jammers, radar, several different types of scramblers, and other communications/interception devices.
