By New Empire

Country: Artitsa
Class: ICBM/LRTM
Basing: Silo based, road mobile, Railway
Payload: triple warhead
Warhead: (3) Nuclear 230 kT, (3) 750kg Conventional, (3) Chemical/Biological, (3) FAE, (3) ONC
Length: 26.85 m
Diameter: 2.20 m
Launch Weight: 64,100 kg
Propulsion: 2-stage solid, final stage scramjet
Range: 15,500 km
Status: In Development
In Service: 2108 TEL, 680 Silo Based, 42 Railway

The SS-29 takes most of its technology from the SS-27 missile, especially the ABM defeating systems. New systems include three warheads capable of being interchanged, a new reduced RCS TEL (Transporter-Erector-Launcher), new anti-ABM systems such as Blurred Edges (http://jmrc.tripod.com/fa/stealth/stealth7a.jpg), Flickering Skin (http://jmrc.tripod.com/fa/stealth/stealth7b.jpg), and ASVR using Athena (bought from New Empire.)Also included, a new guidance package. The CEP has been improved to a meer 175m making the SS-29 one of the most accurate, if not the most accurate ICBM's in the world. This is due to the added thrust vectored nozzle, forward directional nozzles (like that on the Space Shuttle) plus an improved inertial guidance system. Command Guidance systems allow the crew of the parent TEL to guide the missile throughout its trajectory, even changing the target, and performing evasive maneuvers by hand. Should a maneuver threaten the physical integrity of the SS-29, the command will be vetoed by the systems computer. Each warhead carried can independantly engage its own target. The warheads can hit targets upto 120km apart.

Should you suspect your enemy of operating very good ABM systems, then you can change the flight pattern. However, this requires you to be closer. The range is reduced to 5,000km, to which the missile travels at its normal altitude to 3,500km, then drops down and terrain skims for the rest of the 1,500km (about 200ft off the ground, or lower but slower.) The side affect from this, is the MIRV's can now only strike targets 60km apart due to the decreased angle.

A SLBM version is offered with two stages instead of three, reducing range to 9,500km instead of 15,500. Speed and Payload remain the same.

UPDATE: The SS-29M is now offered, with improved avionics, electronics, and physical flight systems. The SS-29M's CEP is now reduced to just 8m using LIDAR, LADAR, Thermal, and Optical imaging to place it on target. The missile also makes use of adaptive skin to allieviate pressure buildups due to high speed maneuvering. The payload and flight profiles remain the same, along with the range. Cost: $200 Million.

The warheads on the missile, are they MREV's(multiple re-entry vehicles) meaning can each individual warhead be targeted at different locations you want them to destroy?
Artitsa
12-10-2004, 21:06
Yes. They are known as MIRV's not MREV's or whatever you said. Multiple Independant Reentry Vehicles.

Fruity Loops... you will be considered.

Yeah uh.. each missile has 3 warheads... so with 12 Warheads, your missing out on two more. Unless, you want 6 of the Missiles to have 3 230kt Warheads and the other 6 with 3 FAE warheads each? If so, Confirmed!

The Republic of Kenistan is greatly interested in purchasing several of your SS-29 LRTM's for an upgrade program of our longstanding nuclear deterrent. Unfortunately, due to recent wars and terrorist activities within Kenistan, new designs of nuclear weapons and delivery systems were delayed for public safety. With the war over and the terrorist threat now eliminated, nuclear warhead design has been resumed and completed. However, due to significant enemy spying activity within Kenistan, the work on an upgraded missile design has again been delayed, and the decision to purchase an 'off the shelf' design for a missile has been approved.

The government of Kenistan would like to purchase several thousand SS-29 LRTM's for our deterrent force, but we are unsure if this will be acceptable due to your sales limit for a few missiles per nation. If you agree to waive this rule, I am very sure that we could reach an agreement to compensate you fully.

Oct 2003 eh... a year old, in that case:

We will sell you 1520 Missiles. 75% in TEL launchers, 20% railway launchers (we'll also supply the armoured trains if you need them), and 5% for Silo use.

Do the math for me.

The ARSB would be willing to purchase production rights (if at all possible or available) for all variants of this missile as we currently do not have a capable tactical/theater missile capable of different missions.

If not, we'd like to purchase as many nuclear and conventional variants that you can provide us.
