The Fodian Federation is looking for Defence Consultants, for the reason that an uber-massive military buildup is planned in the very-quite-near future. Uber-massive by our standards at least, seeing as how our Armed Forces consist of a small Rowboat. Even if it is equipped with its own bait and tackle, it's not something we trust to defend the 'AH MOTHERLAND' in times of need. Several contracts are up for grabs regarding this, as we really have no idea what the hell we are doing, to be ever so blunt. Please Inquiry with the Ministry of Defence as to a Consultant Contract, Manufacturing Contract, Design Contract, or Propoganda Contract. We are willing to review any Offers proposed ranging in all fields you might suggest, although Manufacturing and Design Contracts will be limited due to our interest in the Halladi Military storefront.

A Contracting Bid should, as stated, be submitted to the Ministry of Defence. All Bids placed shall be communicated to anyone placing a Bid, so all vying for a Contract will be updated.

Communist Louissiana seem to be the only contender for a Heavy Weapons Contract, and is being reviewed as well. A Drum Gods Consultation Bid has been accepted, and a Contract is in the works. We would like to invite the Drum Gods Consul over as soon as he can possibly find transport. His Office will begin immediately upon arrival, as Office and Lodging is already prepared.

Field Marhsal Merzak was a rather short but obviously athletic figure with wavy black hair and piercing green eyes. He wore military garments one side of which were covered with medals and honours from the countless wars he had fought in and led.

He arrived at the conference hall and walked through the door with his personal bodyguard:

"You're here to see me.. Cigarette?"

It was a large, tastefully lit conference room. A heavy maple table filled the space nicely, dark and glossy. It was surrounded by a dozen, heavy, black-leather chairs. Seated in here was only one person, up at the head.

Ludvic Gregor, the Minister of Defence. He was wearing what Fodians affectionally dubbed a 'Sergei.' Casual was 'In'. Worn jeans, black t-shirt, and a light gray wind breaker. He was the only one who could get away with Casual in a Ministry office, and he exumed Casual. A slightly older man, but one who watched after himself as to keep respectable, around his mid forties one could guess. To say the least, he contrasted with the formal of the plush and stiff setting.

A pack of Cigarettes slid across the massive table, stopping just before the edge. A click as he lit up his own.

"Make yourself comfortable.. We're expecting someone else, but we can still begin."

Merzak glared at the man who faced for half a second before pulling out a chair from at the end opposite end of the table and sat down. His bodyguard stood behind him, alert, just in case:

"I do not smoke cigarettes. A bit weak for my taste though I do not believe that is what we're here to discuss."

"We always like to appear courteous to our guests.. Somewhat.. But if you have no mind for amenities, and you would like to get down to business, so be it."

A small wince as the Marshal sat down, all the way at the other end. The bodyguard would have to be dismissed soon.

"We have five divisions of the military set out on paper, all pretty standard. Terre Armée, D'eau Armée, Aérien Armé, Céleste Armé, and the Élément Armée. The Élément Armée would be considered our special forces."

He pulled over a small glass and a bottle of gin from the edge of the table, uncapping the bottle with a snap. A tilt and he poured out just a splash into the glass, setting the bottle down again.

"What we want from you.. Is to run over our numbers. We really have no idea what would be too small, or what would be too big. All we know is what costs what. So far, we've come up with two numbers."

A last drag from the cigarette, and he flicked it to an ashtray set on an endtable, against the wall behind him, trails of wispy smoke feathering off.

"Three million, six hundred thousand is the first. Estimate of the gross Military size. The second, is located in our budget. Three trillion, seven million. Point six. Now of course before we go on into depth, there's a Contract on your end to sign. Included is payment, lodging, and of course, Confidentiality."

The Field Marshal pondered about what he was being told. His eyebrows shaped like daggers portrayed an emotionless face staring back at his host. He placed a hand on the table and leaned back on his chair as he listened patiently before speaking slowly and willfully:

"I was sent here knowing that I would have many responsibilities in organising an army. If all you want from me is to runover some numbers then I am sure you would be able to find someone much," he paused,"cheaper."

Merzak turned his face away from Gregor:

"I am not a minister but a man of the army who has co-ordinated some of the most successful military operations of all time. I built up one of the most advanced and grand armies in current existance from nothing. I could do the same for you but let me make it clear."

He leaned forward again:

"I don't just number crunch."

"Good."

A smile.

"Good. Excellent."

A quirked brow, and he leaned back into the chair clasping his hands together. Precisely what they were looking for. Things needed to get done, and done well. Seemed as if this man could fufill their needs.

"I can assure you that your position will have more than calculations to deal with. Much, much more. If I can put it to you in the most simplistic of terms, there's no Ministry of Defence when you sign that contract. There's a Ministry of War."

And he set his gaze locked onto the one opposite, steepling his fingers and attaining an air of slight seriousness. Smile ever-present.

"I see," replied Merzak," in that case we may be able to come to some sort of arrangement. May I have a look at the contract?"

A nod, and a dismissal wave.

"There's a drawer on that end. Contract, and a Pen."

Merzaks bodyguard leaned over to get the contract and pen while the Field Marshal spoke:

"You must realise though that my final alliegance is to the Emperor of Drum Gods. Do not contemplate attempting to use me against the Empire."

"We would never twist something such a way, I assure you that."

A shift foward, and he folded his hands on the table.

"Vodka?"

"No thank you not at this time,"replied Merzak as he signed the document,"Then would I consider you now an ally of the Empire since I have been sent to make you great and feared like Drum Gods?"

Carla drove her Hummer from the airport to the government building, she was wearing a black tight pvc suit, she wore her long black hair down, her glasses slightly down on her nose.

She walked swinging her hips, more like a supermodel than Consul. she was carrying a bag over her shoulder.

She went into the building and into the conference room

'sorry guys, i am late' Carla said, piling into the room, un organised, she found her seat and tried to cool down

"C-Carla I assume? Brilliant. Le-Let's see now.. Since you're a bit late, and I just finished with a short explanation with Merzak, let me ask you this. Can you kill a man with a spoon at twenty paces, and, can you multiply while doing so."

Merzak shook his head as he saw the woman walk in. He stared at her and forced himself to smile. This was a serious meeting not a burlesque show....

'Yes, well not a spoon, and i have excellent mathematic skills' Carla said smiling.
'I am also a master sniper, ask Pendragon, she trained me- by the way, i much prefer a fork, more sharp edges, more damage' she laughed.

A gesture to the packet laying in front of her.

"Just sign on page four, six, eight, ten, twenty-two, thirty six, fingerprint the proper spot in Article Twelve section three through thirteen, initial in your blood on the last page, and we can be done with the paperwork."

"What is she here to do,"asked Merzak curiously," What is it that requires her blood and soul to be devoted to you? After all she is but a woman."

"Human sacrifice of course."

Sigh. Uptight people. Then again, everyone would seem uptight to Ludvic.

"Was something we like to call.. Humour. Transcended from middle French, is a noun, and is defined as something that is or is designed to be comical or amusing."

"Are we here to be funny? Are we clowns here to amuse you? I rather thought not," sighed Merzak.

Carla being two thirds russian did not understand a real word they were saying, she signed where appropriate and sat back and sighed the papers where needed with her pen.

'What now' she asked, struggling to speak english.

Merzak turned to her and spoke viciously:

"Now you remain silent until you are given further instructions woman."

"Good.. Contracts taken care of.. Peachy. Now if you don't mind, I would like to begin right away."

A snap of the fingers. An aide came bustling in from behind the door, and circled to each one of them around the table, snatching their contract away. He took the Vodka on the way out, and switched the lights down as he exited. In and out. Good service around here. The room dimmed down to twilight.

Ludvic snapped open a drawer in the table, and took out a laptop, setting it lightly on the table-top and pushing the drawer closed with a slight of hand.

"Now, Merzak. Quick quiz."

Click. Flip. Beep-Beep. 'Sarah five.' This new Sarah had a damn quick boot.

"If you have men, and you have an enemy- What do you give to the men?"

Click-a-Click-a-Click. Halladi Arms Manufacturing, Nuclear Louissiana, Lightening Stryke, and Hybalt Defence. Enter!

"For you my friend.. I have a gift.. And that's a budget that you can do whatever the hell you want, with what you see in front of you."

"I do not believe I am familiar with these so called suppliers,"as he clicked away on the laptop.
