OOC: Ok... I thought that if I held an election where the international community decides who wins, then you would be happy with his decsions. Please vote for the one you most agree with.

IC: Hello, I'm Ken Triti and you are watching the Presidential Debate. These are the three candidates.

President Newman: He is our current president, A strong enforcer of national economy. PROS: He is responsible for creating thousands of jobs by founding Langolan Military Store Front. The company has supplied many fledlig nations with arms for their military needs. CONS: Under President Newman we have NO ARMY WHAT SO EVER!!!

General Jon Gillanhall: A retired "army" general, This man is a militarist if there ever was one. PROS: He says that if he becomes president, he will get rid of LMSF because they sell our much needed weapons to others. He says that this will not destroy jobs because the military will be constantly needing new equipment. CONS: He is not so interested in economy, and so national debt might insue.

Senator Tony Gifilas: A strong believer in social equality and every man has his say in politics. PROS: He says that if he is elected, that he will do away with congress and make a direct democracy, where people will meet every thursday and discuss national issues. CONS: This can make for a very long democratic process.

Thanks for watching, and don't forget to vote.

Could you tell us more about the plans of General Jon Gillanhall? Specifically:
1) Does he plan on frequently using the military?
2) How much freedom does he plan on allowing the people to have?
3) How does he feel about government-sponsored social welfare?

In an interview earlier today, General Jon Gillanhall answered some questions about his plans as president.

1. "I will use the military only when I feel the time is ripe. If there is a new island that is discovered, I will take it, but I will not blatantly attack other nations for the fun of it."
2. "People's freedoms will still be the same, except for a few thing. The first is that the police will be cracking down more on crime, second is that people will serve a cumpulsory 1 year after school in military training camp. If they excel, they will be drafted for full sevice."
3." Government sponsored welfare is a joke. Those people with no jobs should get one. Join the military if your reason is no one will take you. We will."

This was all this news channel could get out of the general before being escorted from the bathroom of the Candidate Palace.

OOC: The election is OOC?
I vote for Senator Tony Gifilas for two reasons (in order of importance):
1) I feel Langola's civil freedoms are too low.
2) I don't like the compulsory military service plan.

Weclome to the next debate of the presidential elcetions 2004. I'm Ken Triti your host. We'll get right into the questions.

Ken: Candidate, How do you feel about same-sex marriges?
ECON: "Well Ken, I don't agree with it, but I do not think it should be outlawed because it's a free country."
"MIL: I'm totally against it. I don't think that it should be legal at all. If they wanna get married move somewhere else."
FREE: "I agree with ECON"
Ken: Abortion?
ECON: "I'm against it. I think that by aborting, you are taking away from our possible economy with this person.
MIL: "I agree, but your not only taking away from economy, your also taking away a potential warrior."
FREE: "If the parents both agree with the abortion, then it should be legal."
Ken: Marijuana?
ECON: "I think that if the use of it can help, like in medical cases, it should be used under professional supervision. But legalizing it outright is just wrong."
MIL: I agree."
FREE: "I agree but also disagree. Marijuana is a very good stress reliever. And in our country, stress is very common. It should be legalized."

Thanks for watching this debate, and don't forget to vote.
