Market Square, Capital of Aztec Lands

Josef Romanov smoked on a cigarette, purchased from a street vendor. It was a vile thing, which choked his lungs, but he could not help it.

The Red Liberation Front, a terrorist organization devoted to ending the state oppression of socialists everywhere through any means necessary, had AL placed as a target for several months. Their treatment of the humble worker was despicable, to say the least; they had neither right to protest nor to organize.

It was time for something to be done.

The planned attack on Aztec Lands took a number of months to coordinate the move. A small, five-man cell was infiltrated into the country through the Aztec Lands's tourism department.

AK-74 rifles and plastic explosives, along with other equipment, was provided by sympathetic AL citizens, disgruntled by the government's cruel regime.

The day arrived...

After smoking the cigarette, Romanov and his compatriots placed their suitcase bombs near various shops.

They left the marketplace, and detonated the explosives, causing a massive fireball to erupt.

The RLF had won this first engagement, and a statement would appear on global news stations soon enough...

At approximately 6:00 PM local time, the press secretary of the Emperor speaks to a news room:

The Emperor will speak shortly about this.

First of all, the facts: At approximately 5:30 PM local time in Sidewinder City, four bombs ripped through the Central Commercial Center, which was packed that evening. The death count hovers at around 145, the serious injury count at around 70. A fifth bomb was found but did not detonate. It was safely defused and has been collected for evidence. The entire area around the CCC is under investigation. The building itself has partially collapsed, and rescue teams are trying to free those who may still be in the rubble.

At this time we cannot release the names of the victims. The injured have been rushed to area hospitals.

I have spoken with an emergency meeting of the Advisors to the Emperor, and we have agreed on the following measures: We have entered lockdown mode- non-citizens are not allowed to enter or leave the country. The entire military is on patrol, including all branches: the Imperial Army, Navy, Naval Infantry, Miltia, and Reserves. The Civil Guard will be conducting a thorough investigation.

Sidewinder City itself is under a curfew- nobody is allowed on the streets from sunup to 9 PM. Violators will be arrested, those who resist arrest violently will be shot.

Special agents are already working on who the perpetrator or perpetrators could be. We cannot disclose any information on them.

I can only say that this is a tragic event. Tomorrow will be a national day of mourning, as decreed by the Emperor. All flags are to be flown at half-staff. But make no mistake, whoever did this: we are still looking for you. And may the gods have mercy on you when we find you, because we won't.

Five masked terrorists, each wearing the uniform of a Soviet Army infantryman, stood in front of a red flag bearing the hammer and sickle. To the side was a desecrated photo of the emperor of Aztec Lands. Four of them carried AN-94 Nikonov assault rifles, while the fifth had a Makarov pistol in his hip holster.

The soldier with the pistol began speaking, in a distorted voice.

"Comrades of the world, and despicable capitalist regimes everywhere; let our actions speak for themselves.

The "Holy Empire" of Aztec Lands was targeted for their atrocious policies towards our socialist brethern in their borders.

The Red Liberation Front is dedicated to the goal of ending all oppression of our communist friends; we will pursue this dream through any means necessary.

As you can see, the evil capitalists in the Aztec Lands government were dealt a swift, painful blow by our operatives in their countries.

Our attacks will continue until AL chooses a more liberal stance regarding the rights of workers and peasants.

Death to the pigs." finished the terrorist, as he pulled out his pistol and opened fire at the portrait of the Emperor, tearing it to pieces.

The tape went black after that.

The Emperor speaks.

Today is a tragic day. Ladies and gentlemen of the world, we have been attacked by cowards, terrorists, who stalk in the shadows while the world bathes in the light. Let it be known that we are coming.

Let it be known that we, the snake-clan of the Aztecs, are here to hunt down and kill whoever did this.

Let it be known that we will not stop until we find them.

Let it be known that we will not be hit again by anyone else.

Let it be known that today, in houses in our Empire, a people's courage, resolve, and will has been shown. I thank all those involved in the rescue efforts- your work is looked down upon favorably.

Let it be known that whoever you are, wherever you try to hide or run, that your days are numbered, that sooner or later, we will find you. And we will be ready for you.

Let it be known that whoever seeks to assist them, be it domestic or foriegn, will pay in blood.

And, most of all, let it be known that today, a better world will emerge from what we will do.

Already the Civil Guard has determined exactly what occured. It was an attempt to quite literally bring down the entire mall. Bombs were placed in five critical areas- the five entrances and exits. The bombs used were C4, a plastic explosive. Once the exits were out of commission, it was hoped that hundreds would die and parts of the building would collapse as support beams fell- and they did. However, one of the bombs did not go off. Thankfully, it has allowed workers to get in and help the affected.

The target itself brings notice- a commercial center, a mall. This was an attempt to tell us something about our economic system, perhaps? We cannot jump to comclusions.

And if another nation did this, be warned: we have aquired the power of the sun god, Tonatiuh. We have nuclear weapons, and we have missile capabilities. Although we may not use them, we will if we deem it necessary.

Rest tonight, citizens, assured that we are keeping you safe.

Victory with unity and our gods.

The government of Plebornoia announced today it is willing to offer aide to the casualties of this cowardly act.

We offer food, clothing and have committed to sending 4,000 peace keepers to restore the world back to its natural balance.

"Damn!" cried Romanov as he came to grips with the fact that one of the bombs did not explode. The small television inside relayed the findings of the AL police to the embedded cell.

Evidently, Ivan Zolotzov, a new recruit, failed to detonate the bomb that was placed in a shopping mall's 2nd floor bathroom.

"Vanya! You idiot, why did you not set the explosive as we planned?" shouted Josef angrily, his hands choking Ivan.

"coughgack,cough, I tried to blow it, but a rent-a-cop saw me comrade! I thought he was going to pull out his service pistol and kill me!"

At this response, Josef let go of Ivan and began speaking in a calmer tone.

"I understand, comrade. But you must understand, you have jeapordized our mission and our very existence. At any moment now, there could be a police raid against us."

"I'm sorry." breathed Ivan, trying to catch his breath. "I will make it up tomorrow, during our next attack against the oppression of the proleteriat."

"Indeed you will, comrade." whispered Romanov, an edge just barely audible in his voice.

The Final Attack

The Red Liberation Front members, all of them, strapped Semtex to their bodies, and holstered their AK-74 carbines, concealed beneath large Russian overcoats.

They walked into the lobby of a building of one of Aztec Lands's largest corporations, and opened up.

5.45mm rounds sliced into the bodies of the receptionist, people waiting for their appointments, and anyone else caught in the crossfire.

Running from room to room, the five shot up rooms filled with corporate pigs.

As the police arrived, they detonated the bombs on their bodies, giving their lives for the sake of workers everywhere...
