Mississippi to host conference on witchcraft and ways to stop it - Page 3

Roger nodded at Falathiel and Edward, "Well would you two like to get something to eat then? You must be hungry?"
Alice nodded at Roger, "I'm hungry to, yes, something to eat sounds like a good idea."
Roger smiled and embraced Alice, gently kissing her before saying, "Well then dear, would you mind just waiting here while I go get the servants up and tell them to get to work on the food?"
She smiled and remained seated as Roger walked off towards another room.
Alice smiled at Falathiel and Edward, "So, how did you two meet?" she asked, curious about the circumstances surrounding their meeting.
"Ah, well I was attending the conference on witchcraft, and Thaller didn't like the way I was dressed, so he had me arrested. I got taken to the DIS headquarters, and I met Edward. I think that's it."
Decisive Action
29-10-2004, 03:23
Alice smiled, "Ah yes, the DISDB are such nice people aren't they?"
Edward nervously nodded, "Yeah, nice..." he knew he was in the DISDB, a much nicer group than the DISFB, but still an association rife with sadists and maniacs alike.

Edward smiled as he said, "You know what else, diplomats from Eldanor are also very nice." He then kissed Falathiel for a few seconds.
Alice giggled, "Ah, it's so nice to see new couples together..."
Roger then came back into the room, "Well the servants are all getting the food ready, what else do we pay them for eh? I don't pay them to be asleep!" he chuckled nervously as nobody laughed. Suddenly Alice laughed, although she didn't find it funny, and Edward joined in.
Ooc- Be back in about 2/4-3/4 of an hour.

Robert smiled, "Ah, Armenian, a fine people, I consider them to be on par with Mississippians, more or less on par that is... So tell me, what is it like in your nation?"
She shrugged, giving a careful and measured responce.
Momanguise is a very exciting country to live in. The Church remains immensly influenfial in peoples domestic lives, yet fights a running battle with the secular State. However, the State has more or less come out on top. No-one has any money, but they have no need for money either. Everything is paid for by the State, everything. Prehaps that helps explains why the Peoples Democratic Socialist Party has managed to remain in power for such a prolonged period, some people here literally worship the State. There is no discrimination of any form; sexual, racial, relgion...any such prejudice is viewed by the vast majority as akin to murder. People are not particullary rich here, but they are comfortable. The old remember the Soviet days and the war against Azerbaijan, and are gratefull to the new state for what it has done for them. The young, as the young always do, are infused with a sense of revolutionary fevour. It is something of a new proverb, that to live in Momanguise is to truely know yourself for who you are.
She had a sip of white wine,
Well I have told you about my country. How about yours?

He sighed, "It's the most beautiful land you'll ever see... I especially love how they actually built two mountain ranges, it took over a decade, but they did it. Curtis wanted to ski, so had them build what we now call Mount Fabus and Mount Curtis... All the seasons seem to leave our land looking absolutely beautiful, except for the flood season. People are very nice though, the WKM built over 20 million homes for those made homless in the late 90s by the worst flooding in decades... That is what I love most about Mississippi, anybody will help any other Mississippians or Commonwealth citizens if they see they need help."
"The wealthy are wealthy and the poor, well the poor are not poor in the sense that they are well-off because our poverty line is so artificially raised as to allow them to get more benefits... Nobody makes under thirty thousand dollars a year, and most poor people receive help from the WKM in matters such as farming and building their home if they are building a new one."
He chuckled nervously, not sure how well she liked what he'd say next, "I'm sure you know, that my family, the Smith family, is one of the richest in the nation..."
He suddenly grinned, "Well Ms. Ormov, as beautiful as Mississippi may be, she has nothing on you..."

She recoiled, fixing him with a cold stare. She spoke with a curt voice, hard with fury.
So this is why you are here. No real apology, no sorrow, nothing. Just a selfish young man who lets his testacles think for him. Let me guess, did your father put you up to this? You talk of your country like it is heaven, yet it is hell on earth. All people help each other, as long as they are a wasp! Everyone helps each other, as long as they're skin is white! Your country is pathetic and you are pathetic. I would advise you to leave this country before you betray one of our laws.

He frowned, "No, not that at all... Can't I compliment such a lovely lady as yourself without you going on the defensive? I'm only trying to be nice and perhaps leave you with the correct view that my countrymen are not violent brutes as you saw at the conference, but kinder and gentler people."

Robert was quite shocked at first, but seemed to get over it quite quickly, "Well, I guess that is... Different, but if it makes you happy... I mean people in my nation marry their sisters and cousins in probably such numbers that they dwarf all other nations incest incidents combined... So who would I be to tell you who you could marry if people in my nation marry their sisters... I guess whatever works for you, eh?"
Momanguise
29-10-2004, 21:27
Well, I have no wish to marry my sister but it is legal here to. Then again, it is legal to marry our cats here. However, I was under the impression that lesbianism is against the law in Mississipii?
Decisive Action
29-10-2004, 21:29
He nodded, "Yes, it is against the law, but nobody practices it anyway, so it's not really an issue, Mississippi is entirely heterosexual, we assure that through genetic means."
Edward smiled as he said, "You know what else, diplomats from Eldanor are also very nice." He then kissed Falathiel for a few seconds.
Alice giggled, "Ah, it's so nice to see new couples together..."

Decisive Action
30-10-2004, 18:42
Robert smiled, "Ah yes, but our Czar is not conservative, our party is not conservative, we are reactionary revolutionary rightists. We obtained power through a military coup d'etat that was mostly a coup de main, a sudden stroke against the government that crushed them. We never were for the status quo prior to 1984, because the status quo was so sick. We need to have a right-wing dictatorship before we can have our utopia paradise where the only service government provides is defense and commerce... But for now, we need the intrusions."

Falathiel nodded in agreement with Edward. "Yes, I do supposed it's true," she told the Czar, smiling at Edward.

The Czar nodded, "Are you two going to be... You know... Well I mean, how much of an item are you? Do you have any long-term plans?"

"I don't have any future plans set in my mind at the minute, but I'll do whatever Edward wants."

The Aryans invaded India, I am sure you remember all this... Well Christ was born of a woman who had totally Aryan ancestors, even though they were a small minority by the time he was born, seeing as most of th Aryans had either moved into Europe or melted into the local populations through foolishly failing to guard their racial purity. They walked, arm in arm down the open, dark street. It was a long walk back to the house, and as they walked in silence neither of them was aware that they were being followed. Hood drawn against the cold, a figure was keeping just out of sight. Who was he? Only a select few members of the MPSA knew. Even fewer knew of his mission.
As Anna and Robert stopped in the hard glare of the crossing lights, he caught up with them and standing behind them, he lifted the pistol inside his coat. His fingers tightened around the trigger.
Robert never stood a chance. Almost instantly, five high callibur bullets had ripped through the greatcoats fabric and smashed into the mans frame. Two in the head, two in the heart and one in the base of the spine. Anna screamed and turned to catch sight of the assalient, but he was already long gone into the night.

It was indeed a nice room, the second largest guest room at the mansion, larger than some houses. It was actually seven rooms, a small house made into one room... Edward slowly slid out of bed, put a robe on and answered the door, "Yes... I am here Czar, we are here... What is it?"
Roger smiled, "Just checking to see if you two needed anything... I imagine you're doing well though, yes?"
Edward nodded his head, "Yes... Thank you though, for your hospitality..."
Roger smiled again, "Well, just call if you need anything." And with that, he turned and left. Edward shut and locked the door and then went back to bed, "Well, that was the Czar, he was just checking to see if we needed anything."

“All right,” she told him. She took some clean clothes out of her bag and walked down the hall to take a quick shower. After Falathiel had finished washing, she got dressed, brushed her hair, and then went out to the balcony where Edward was having his cigar. “All ready, Edward.”

Roger had fallen asleep, Alice gently covered him up with a blanket and then turned to Edward and Falathiel, and whispered, "Roger works himself too hard often, he stays up late to work on budget projections and various policy decisions... He'd see you out himself, but obviously he's asleep... So, do you two need a chopper to get you back to Edwards?"
She nodded. "Yeah, that would be great, thanks a lot."
Decisive Action
06-12-2004, 23:29
Edward nodded his head and said, "Thanks for calling the helicopter." as Alice led him and Falathiel to the side entrance room to wait for a helicopter to land at the helipad off to the side of the mansion.
Alice smiled a bit, "Well you two lovebirds have fun in Eldanor, stay safe and don't forget you two will simply have to write us here and tell us how things are going, okay?"
Falathiel nodded. "Yes, I'm positive it'll all be perfectly fine, and I'm sure we'll enjoy ourselves. Thank you, Alice."
Decisive Action
07-12-2004, 03:56
The helicopter had just landed, they were heading out the door to get on it.
Alice smiled, "Well you two have a great time in Eldanor, see you both later, safe trip."
Edward turned back a bit, "Thank you Czarina, we will have a great time and will be sure to call you and the Czar and inform you of when we are back and keep your eyes open for a few postcards."
Edward and Falathiel then boarded the helicopter and it slowly took off, heading towards Edward's estate.
"They're very nice people, the Czar and Czarina."
Decisive Action
07-12-2004, 04:20
Edward smiled, "Yeah, I know, they're very nice."
"So, where is your place, anyway?"
Decisive Action
13-12-2004, 02:15
Edward smiled, "Well, it's a ways away, in a rural area, near the border with Louisiana, nice and quiet, out of the way, it's pretty nice there."
She smiled. "Sounds very nice. I don't like living near the city, I like it out in the country, my parents still live in the country."
Decisive Action
13-12-2004, 02:55
He nodded his head and then pointed off at a large flock of Mississippian Pheasants flying by, "There look, a pack of pheasants, aren't they beautiful birds?"
She nodded, her eyes scanning the sky. "Gorgeous. We have some beautiful birds in Eldanor, but those pheasants are very nice looking."
Decisive Action
13-12-2004, 03:06
He smiled, "Yes, but not as beautiful as you..."
She smiled back, blushing slightly. "Thank you, but you're very handsome yourself."
Decisive Action
13-12-2004, 03:21
He blushed a bit, "Thank you..."
He then yawned, the long ride getting to him, he suddenly saw the first sign that they were nearing the estate, he pointed, "The Fabus Mountain Range... The only manmade mountain range in the world..."
She nodded. "Yes, how did they make that?"
Decisive Action
13-12-2004, 03:31
He chuckled a bit, "Time and money, lots of both... And labor, lots of that too... One last thing, patience, the first mountain range collapsed in on itself due to earthquakes."
"I see. How long did it take, anyway?"
Decisive Action
13-12-2004, 04:08
"I see. How long did it take, anyway?"
He smiled, "About seven years... Are you surprised by the time? It was quite fast for a mountain range of its size, yes?"
She nodded. "Oh yes, it must've been interesting to see."
Decisive Action
13-12-2004, 04:22
He smiled, "Yes, it was quite a sight to behold, a wonderful testament to the superiority of our technology in architecture and engineering... It took over a decade for them to get the forumals and plans right to make the mountains possible."
Decisive Action
18-12-2004, 23:28
bump
She nodded. "An excellent piece of work, definitely. You’ll get to see some of the Eldanoran mountain ranges when we get out there. I’ve been up quite a few of them, and it’s a marvelous view.”
Decisive Action
20-12-2004, 00:07
Edward smiled, "Ah, I can't wait... So, you want to leave right away then?"
"I can't wait either, and yes, I want to leave as soon as we can."
Decisive Action
20-12-2004, 01:18
Ooc- Shall we just jump ahead a bit and have them being in Eldanor? Since I have no idea what Eldanor is like, it'd be presumptuous and arrogant for me to RP them arriving there and what your nation looks like, so perhaps you'd care to start the next leg of the RP with them arriving in Eldanor? Your call.
OOC: Sure, we can do that. I'll post it as soon as I can.
A few hours after Edward and Falathiel had found their plane and left for Eldanor, they landed in an airport a few hundred miles from the nation’s capital. Outside the airport, which was very small, Falathiel hailed a cab.
The driver helped the two get their luggage into the trunk and once all their belongings were stowed, they got in and Falathiel pointed out how to get to her parents home, a good distance from where they currently were, way out past all the cities.
Once she had told the cab driver where to go, she turned to Edward and told him, “It’ll probably be a long drive, unfortunately. My family lives far out in the rural areas of Eldanor, and this is the closet airport to them. It might take an hour or two.”
Decisive Action
20-12-2004, 01:44
Edward smiled and sat back in his seat, "That's okay, a long drive is enjoyable in the company of one such as yourself... And don't worry about the cab, I insist on paying the fee..."
She smiled and laughed softly. “Oh, well I find pleasure in your company, too. Very much pleasure. But no, you don’t have to pay, you paid for everything when we were in Mississippi, so I insist upon paying the bill for everything in Eldanor. Besides, I don’t think you have Eldanoran money, do you?”
Decisive Action
20-12-2004, 01:51
He smiled, "Ah, as an operative in the field of intelligence, I have access to any currency I need... Before we left, I just stopped by the office and took a few million in Eldanorian currency out of the supply room, well I didn't take it, I gave them Mississippian money and I got the Eldanorian money."
She smiled. "Still, I want to pay, I don't mind, really."
Decisive Action
20-12-2004, 02:43
He frowned a bit, "Well..." He then smiled, "If you really want to pay, okay..."
She smiled. "I don't mind at all. It's my pleasure, actually."
Decisive Action
20-12-2004, 03:52
He smiled a bit, "If you're really sure, okay..."
"Oh I'm sure, believe me."
Falathiel looked at her watch and remarked, "We should be there pretty soon."
Decisive Action
20-12-2004, 08:27
Edward smiled and then kissed her, after which he said, "I can't wait."
She kissed him back. “I know,” she said, smiling.
Falathiel glanced out the window and saw they were pulling up to the old but pretty well-kept house her family lived in. Behind the house spread several pastures where horses and cattle grazed.
She and Edward got out of the cab and got their luggage out of the trunk with the help of the driver. She paid and thanked him and the guy drove off.
Almost immediately after he was gone, a bunch of young children ran out from the house, followed by a woman who looked to be only a few years older then Falathiel herself, her sister Morwen.
Falathiel greeted each of her nieces and nephews in turn, then her sister. “It’s good to see you again, Morwen.”
Morwen smiled. “We didn’t think you’d be back until much later in the year. It’s a pleasant surprise.” She looked at Edward, “And who is this?”
Decisive Action
21-12-2004, 01:46
Edward snapped to attention and saluted, "Major Edward Ernst of the Department of Internal Security, Domestic intelligence Branch, 8th command group assigned to Jackson City sector 25."
Morwen nodded. “Nice to meet you, then. I’m Morwen, Falathiel’s sister. Are you two hungry at all? We’ve just finished getting dinner ready.”
Decisive Action
21-12-2004, 02:55
Edward smiled and extended his hand to shake, "Pleasure to meet you, is this your home, it's quite nice..."
Morwen shook his hand. “No, it’s not my home; my family and I are visiting my parents. But yes, my parents do put a lot of effort into taking care of it.”
Decisive Action
21-12-2004, 03:29
Edward smiled, "Your parents must be very proud of this house, and of their family... Your sister is a very wonderful woman, and I've yet to get to know any of her siblings very well, but I'm confident that they're all very nice people."
Morwen smiled. “Yes, they all are. Falathiel is a great person; my parents raised us all well. Anyway, are you hungry? Dinner is just about to be served.”
Decisive Action
21-12-2004, 03:48
Edward smiled, "Yes, dinner, that sounds great... It was a long plane ride and a long drive, I'm quite hungry."
Morwen took their luggage inside and put them by the stairs, someone would take it up later, and led the two into the dining room, where most of the family was already seated. The children took their seats and Falathiel’s other niece and nephew, college-aged twins, came down and greeted her and Edward.
Morwen’s husband hugged his sister-in-law and shook hands with Edward and pulled out their chairs. Once they were seated, Falathiel’s parents, Sador her father and Indis her mother came in with the food.
They set the food down and noticed her and Edward. “Falathiel, you’re back, finally! I didn’t think you were coming back until next month. And who’s this that’s with you?” her mother asked.
Decisive Action
21-12-2004, 04:31
Edward smiled, and stuck out his hand to shake, "Major Edward Ernst, ma'am..."
Both parents shook his hand, then Falathiel’s father asked, “So, what brings you to Eldanor, then?”
Decisive Action
22-12-2004, 09:41
He smiled, "Sir, ma'am... I'd like to marry your daughter."
For a moment there was a surprised silenced, but then both of Falathiel’s parents slowly smiled. Her father then said, “Well, I’m very happy that you’ve chosen to marry our daughter. I’m sure you’ll be happy together.” Her mother nodded.
Decisive Action
23-12-2004, 02:27
Edward smiled, "So, you all have lived in this house your entire lives? It's a lovely place..."
Falathiel, her parents, and her sister all nodded. “Yes, it originally belonged to my great-great-grandfather,” Morwen told him.
Decisive Action
23-12-2004, 03:34
He nodded his head a bit, listening to them talk about the house, "Well it certainly is something that you must be very proud of, it's a lovely house, wonderful..."
He then smiled slightly as his stomach rumbled, "I think I'm trying to tell myself it's nearly dinner time..."
Falathiel's father nodded and smiled. "Let's all eat, then," he announced and sat. Everyone began to pass the dishes around and take helpings.
Decisive Action
23-12-2004, 03:53
He smiled, "Ah, this smells and looks great, can't wait to find out how it tastes..."
"Go ahead, eat," Morwen said, smiling. "Don't want it to get cold now."
Decisive Action
23-12-2004, 04:10
Edward did just that, and ate, and ate, and ate, he ate quite a lot, but then again, what few people knew (as it was a classified military secret) was that most Mississippian special operatives, had such advanced genetic enhancements that they had much increased metabolic rates, and thus needed a great deal more food. Normally Edward was issued pills to keep his metabolic rate slowed to below non-enhanced levels, but he wasn't in Mississippi and as such, the pills had to stay behind since he didn't have the chance to get somebody to sign the forms allowing him to take them.
He ended up eating more than everybody else combined, he smiled and said, "Wow, that was great food... Great..."
He had also drank at least twelve glasses of water, he wondered if anybody would think he was a pig or just a hungry guy, he wasn't overweight, not in the least bit, he was in top physical condition, so it wasn't like he was a glutton.
Falathiel and her family barely noticed how much he had been eating, but when Edward commented on the food she smiled and grinned. “Yes, Morwen is an excellent cook, right?”
Morwen nodded and beamed proudly. “I’m glad you liked it.”
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 01:35
Edward smiled, "Yes, wonderful food, thank you the great meal."
He then stretched a bit and noticed on his phone, which had the ringer turned off, he'd received a call from NEMA Command He excused himself from the table to go into another room to call the man back.
He was visibly upset as he started talking, "No, I won't... No... Foreign soldiers will not receive any training help from my unit or any of my colleagues units, I can tell you that right now... Don't even waste your time, no... Not happening... You can take your martial law contingency plan bullshit and shove it..."
Edward sighed and shut the phone off, walking back into the room he shook his head, "Sorry about that, just some competing domestic agency..."
Morwen nodded, still smiling. “You are most welcome.”
Everyone started chatting again as Edward got up, but Falathiel was trying to listen to his conversation over the noise. She heard some of it, and when he got back, she asked quietly, “Competing domestic agency? What was that about?”
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 01:52
He whispered to her, "Some groups in NEMA want me to help foreign operatives rehearse practices for taking over civilian airfields and local governments. I refused. They're trying to setup a police state martial law system, in our lands and the foreign lands the soldiers they want trained are from, I won't help that..."
She frowned a little bit, and asked nervously, “Everything will be all right, yes? You won’t need to go back really soon yes, will you?”
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 02:01
He shook his head, "No, I should be okay... I don't think NEMA will be dumb enough to do anything crazy."
She nodded and smiled. "All right, then let’s help clean up.”
After they were finished helping do the dishes and clearing the table, everyone kind of wandered off. The kids went upstairs to play and Morwen, her husband, and Falathiel’s parents went into the living room.
“So, what do you want to do?” she asked him.
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 02:31
Edward had been smiling as he helped them clean up, "Thank you again for the wonderful meal."
Afterwards, he sat down in a chair and shook his head, "I don't know what to do, whatever you want is fine."
She shrugged. “It can be pretty boring here sometimes…perhaps we could go for a walk, but it’s a bit cold.”
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 02:47
He smiled, "If you'd like to go for a walk, that is what we shall do."
She smiled and took his hand, leading him out the door and down the porch steps. There was a path winding around the fields and towards the mountains and the forest. “Down there, if we walk far enough, there’s a nice lake. We always went fishing as kids.”
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 03:00
As they were walking down the path, his phone rang again, he apologized for the distraction but had to take the call it was from DIS Command, his brother.
"Yes, hello, I'm fine you? Mother and father are good, okay, good... What?" His tone changed, he was a bit nervous, "They wouldn't.... Would they? How could they? Seriously, danger? Are you sure? Thanks for the warning..."
He shut the phone off and tucked it away into his pocket, he reached into his suit and checked his shoulder holster, making sure his pistol was there. Edward then said to her, "Do you think it's safe out here? I mean how easy would it be for somebody to sneak into your nation or bluff their way in with perfectly falsified papers?"
She shifted from foot to foot, nervously. “Why, is there something wrong? Really, I’m not sure, if they were good, maybe, security isn’t really tight around here. What’s wrong, Edward? Should we go back inside?”
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 03:15
He nodded his head, worried, but keeping a calm tone, "Yes, I think we should go back inside... Word from my brother at DIS Command is that NEMA Intelligence operatives are rumored to be targeting DISDB operatives, of which I am an officer of the DISDB, for assassination... I'm not too eager to get shot, and I certainly don't want you in any danger... I think it'd be best to lie low for a while."
As they turned to walk back, he noticed some other footprints on the path, from boots, he asked her, "Is this... How many people typically come back this way? Is this open to anybody?"
Nervously, she bent down. “Yes, it’s opened to anyone, I don’t know, it might’ve been the kids, you know how children are,” she said, trying to hide her obvious worry.
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 03:36
He bent down a bit closer and looked at the Federal seal of NEMA that the boots had left, he shook his head, whispering, "Let's get inside, now..."
He drew his pistol out and kept it at his side as he walked forward quickly. The tracks had been going down towards the lake, but they could have been anywhere by now.
She nodded and followed him. “Yes, hopefully we’ll be safe there,” she whispered. Falathiel stayed close to his side, walking up to the porch, and glancing around. “Do you see anyone?”
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 03:51
He shook his head, "No, nobody is around... I have some night vision goggles and an MP-5 in one of my suitcases though, I always travel prepared..."
“All right, let’s go back inside, we’ll lock the doors,” she said, and pulled him inside, closing and locking the door. She went into the kitchen to lock the door there, and close the windows.
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 04:12
He immediately told her parents and siblings to help lock the doors and close the windows as he got his night vision goggles and MP-5 out from his case.. He then walked back into the living room where they seemed to be assembling to talk, he looked around, "Is everybody who should be here, here?"
Morwen appeared to be counting her children, and frowned nervously. Her voice rose a bit. “Falathiel, have you seen Nerwen?”
Falathiel shook her head; she went up the stairs and checked in all the rooms for her older niece, but no sign. She came down and told them there was no sign of her, and Morwen grew increasingly nervous. “Where could she have gone?”
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 04:28
Edward immediately slipped on a suit of body armor he had in his luggage, he handed the Walther PPK pistol he had to her father and said, "Here, do you know how to use this? Stay inside, get your family to an interior room, lock the door, don't open it... I'll be searching the house here and then outside if I must... I'll be back..."
He cocked the MP-5 and turned his Night Vision Goggles on as he moved into the basement to look, if he couldn't find her there, he'd move outside.
Her father nodded and took it, and moved everyone into a room where there were no windows, and closed the doors, but Falathiel followed Edward. “I want to go with you,” she told him.
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 04:37
Edward sighed, "I don't suppose there is any use in arguing... But you're wearing this..." He took his armor off and handed it to her.
She put it on. "Will you be all right?"
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 04:50
He nodded his head, "Yes, I'll be fine..."
He slowly opened the door to the basement and with flawless stealth managed to get to the bottom of the stairs, it was pitch black in there, but he could see like it was day, his goggles working perfectly.
She tried to follow him, but couldn’t see nearly as well as Edward could with his goggles. She tried to adjust her eyes to the dark and could just barely make out his shape.
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 05:00
There was a man in the corner, behind a chair, it was too dark for anybody but Edward to see. Suddenly the man turned on the light, he was holding a gun to her nieces head, a pistol... He looked at Edward, "Ernst... Drop it now, there are plenty of us outside, you don't stand a chance... Drop it or she dies..."
Edward nodded his head slowly and made its seem he was about to drop the gun, he motioned ever so slightly with his head for the girl to get ready to duck, he then raised up the gun and immediately fired one round, it hit the man between the eyes, she didn't even have to duck but she had anyway. The man crumbled over and fell on the floor, dead before he hit the ground.
Falathiel came tearing down the stairs and grabbed her niece, holding her close. The girl hugged her tight, and Falathiel patted her on the back. “You’re all right, it’ll be fine, we’ll take you upstairs, don’t worry.”
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 05:25
Edward walked back upstairs after checking over the entire basement and taking the man's pistol and tucking into his own pocket. He then carried the body upstairs and tossed him out back on the back patio before coming back inside and locking the door. "Is everybody okay?" he asked.
Falathiel's family nodded and her niece ran over to Morwen, who hugged her tight. "It's all right, you're safe," she said soothingly.
Falathiel turned to Edward. "Will everything be all right now?"
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 05:35
Edward whispered to her, "I hope so... I don't know though, he said there were more NEMA around, outside..."
She bit her lip and shifted nervously. “You think there are? Should we check, maybe?”
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 06:22
He shook his head, "No, you stay here with your family, I'll check outside."
She nodded. “All right, but take the body armor, I don’t want you to get shot. “She slipped out of it and handed it back to him.
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 06:32
He smiled and took the armor back, "Okay, don't worry, I'll be fine, you and your family stay inside, I'll be back soon..."
“All right,” she told him hesitantly, then went back with her family into one of the interior rooms.
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 06:49
After he geared up, he moved outside, using a side window, he figured they were probably watching the front doors.
A few minutes later there was a massive volume of gunfire, it could be heard for well over a mile. Somebody had a large caliber handgun, at least a 454 or perhaps a 500 magnum.
They could hear fully-automatic fire from his (presumably his, submachine gun) from inside the interior room.
About ten mintues later, the firing had ceased, everything was quiet, nothing could be heard, not a sound, even the night animals were gone, they'd run for cover when the shooting started.
Falathiel’s entire family was deathly silent. Falathiel went to go unlock the doors, but Morwen grabbed her. “What are you doing?” she hissed.
“I’m going out,” Falathiel told her, and reached for the doorknob.
Morwen grabbed her wrist again. “They could still be out there!”
She pulled away and opened the door. “Just a peek, I’ll be right back.” Falathiel exited the room and crept across the living room and into the hallway. She opened the door slowly, looking around for anyone.
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 07:03
Edward came staggering back towards the front porch and collapsed on it. He hadn't been shot, but it had gotten into hand-to-hand, and although he won, he'd been hit in the stomach and head with a large stick and it hurt like hell.
Falathiel yelled for her sister, who came running with her husband and Falathiel’s parents, both of them. She hovered over Edward. “Are you all right? What happened? Did you get shot?” she whispered in his ear.
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 07:12
Edward shook his head, "No, hand-to-hand, got hit, big stick... So tired..."
He slowly drifted into unconsciousness.
She looked out and saw the attackers, what had been the attackers, at least six dead bodies were along hthe edge of the woods to the side of the house, he'd kill them all, and possibly more in the woods.
“Let’s get him inside,” she said. Her father and Morwen’s husband moved him onto the couch in the living room, and Falathiel sat by his side, running her hands through his hair. The rest of them left to calm the children down.
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 07:31
Edward came to a few minutes later, he smiled at her, one of his eyes was swollen closed though, "Are you okay? Did I get them all?"
“I hope so. What happened? Is that eye okay, do you want me to look at it?”
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 07:41
He tried to blink, the eye just stayed shut, he could see a bit out of it, "I think I'm okay... I can see out of it..."
Edward shook his head a bit, "What happened eh? There were nearly a dozen of them out there, it was a major firefight, once I ran out of ammunition, I fought them in hand-to-hand... It was just my luck none of them had thought to bring night vision goggles or wear any armor."
She smiled and continued to stroke his hair. "Why, though? Why do they want to kill you?"
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 07:47
He shook his head, "Something to do with NEMA, and a New World Order, NEMA is planning to attempt a martial law takeover, they're going to try to crush the DISDB as part of that..."
"Perhaps we should go someplace more secure? I don't want to have my family in danger."
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 08:00
He nodded his head, "Yes... But when I spoke earlier on the phone, Wilhelm said he'd make sure a squad of DISDB got here shortly..."
As he was talking, she heard car doors slamming outside, at least three cars were in the driveway. Cadillac Eldorados.
Falathiel jumped up. “Would that be them?”
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 08:04
He meekly asked, "If they're in silver or black cadillacs, yes... If they're in blue cadillacs, look out..."
Two of the cars were black, one was silver.
She smiled. "Yes, it's them," she told him, and then went to go greet them.
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 08:15
One of the men stepped onto the porch as the others checked the bodies of the NEMA operatives, taking their guns and then bringing the bodies into one big pile.
The man on the porch extended his hand, "Greetings ma'am, I'm with the DISDB, we were sent here to protect Major Ernst, you, and your family..."
She nodded and shook his hand. "Yes, thank you for coming, do you want to come inside?"
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 08:31
He nodded his head, "Yes, three of us will stay inside, the other nine will be outside, keeping a perimeter, is that okay?"
She nodded. “That’s quite good, thank you,” Falathiel told them, and led the three of them inside. “Do you and the others want anything to eat? My sister and I can cook something up for you all.”
Decisive Action
27-12-2004, 23:42
The agent nodded his head, "Yes, that would be great, thank you. Whatever you make I'm sure will be fine, just make sure that it is meat, please."
Falathiel nodded, and went to get Morwen. Her sister frowned slightly when she saw the men, but said nothing. She and Falathiel cooked up some steak they had and set them down at the table for the men to eat.
Decisive Action
28-12-2004, 01:43
The men all smiled and warmly accepted the plates. One of them said, "This looks great." Another one added, "Smells great too." The last man smiled and said, "Thanks for the food... We should probably take some out to the guys on perimeter."
The first man shook his head, "No, they can eat later, eating and keeping watch on guard can be difficult..."
Falathiel nodded and replied, “You are quite welcome.” Morwen said nothing and walked off after her sister had finished speaking. Falathiel stayed. “Anything else you might need?”
Decisive Action
28-12-2004, 02:04
The man nodded his head a bit, "You have any pipe tobacco or cigarettes on you?"
She nodded. “Yes, my father has pipe tobacco,” she told them, and went back into the kitchen, and pulled some out from where her father kept it on top of the cabinets. Falathiel came back in and gave them it.
Decisive Action
28-12-2004, 02:18
He accepted the pipe tobacco and thanked her for it as he started to take out his pipe.
Meanwhile, Edward, over on a couch, finally came to and was rubbing his head, "Ahh... That is going to hurt for a while there..."
Falathiel went back over to him and knelt down by his side. "Do you want me to get anything for that?"
Decisive Action

He nodded his head a bit, "One of the men that came here, there should be a medic amongst them, he might have some morphine on him... Ask him about it if you would please."
She smiled, and got up and asked the first man, “Is there a medic with you? Edward wants to know if he has morphine on him.”

The man opened a pouch and handed her a needle, "There you are, inject it into his upper leg."
She smiled and thanked him. Falathiel went back to Edward. “I got it,” she told him. “Roll up your pant leg, please.”

He frowned, "A needle eh? Okay..." He closed his eyes and rolled up his pant leg, he hated needles.
“I’ll be gentle, don’t worry,” she said, and injected the morphine into his leg then pulled the needle out.

He gasped when she put the needle in him, he really hated needles.
After being injected, he smiled and his eyes closed, he was already starting to fall asleep.

bump- shall we continue here then?
After he had fallen asleep, Falathiel went into the other room to check on the men. She smiled at them. “Do you want anything else?”

One of the men nodded his head as he set his Night Vision Goggles down on the table near the window he was looking out, "Yeah, can you tell me which way to the bathroom please."
She smiled and pointed down the main hallway, and informed him, “The last door down, on the right. Do any of you gentlemen need anything else?”

The man nodded his head and asked, "One last thing, do we need to contact any local authorities about those bodies and the fact that there could be dozens of assassins lurking around the nation?"
One of the other men shook his head, "Local authorities are useless, under-equipped, poorly trained, and just not enough of them..." He turned to her, "No offense."
She sighed. “I guess we should, it’ll probably cause a lot of problems for me and Edward, though.”

The man shook his head, "How so? Does your nation frown on foreigners being here?"
“They’ll probably be upset that we didn’t immediately inform them what happened,” she said, sighing. “And the local authorities aren’t always happy when other people get involved in these kinds of things.”

One of the operatives shook his head, "Local authorities aren't capable of handling these problems, they ought to be glad we're here..."
She nodded. “You’re quite right, but they’ll be upset nonetheless.”

He nodded his head and sighed, "Well, at any rate, we'd better call them up right now, eh?"
Falathiel sighed and told them, “I’ll go do it right now.”
She went into the kitchen and picked up the phone, and then proceeded to dial the number for the local authorities. After talking with the man who had picked up for about ten minutes or so, she hung up and came back out.
“They said they’ll send out an alert for other parts of this area to keep on the alert for any assassins that might still be out there.”

The man on the phone had spoken with a most odd accent, she couldn't place it, perhaps he was the result of a marriage between an Eldanorian and a foreigner, but she couldn't tell for sure. Actually the man was a DISFB operative, he had re-routed the call, and he hadn't made any attempts to conceal his accent or hid behind a false accent, so it didn't trigger any immediate alarms with the woman. Besides, he spoke perfect english, just a Mississippian Egyptianized version with an accent that would have revealed such. Although she had no way of knowing what Mississippikaners sounded like.
The man had introduced himself as a police lieutenant and used the actual name of a lieutenant at the nearest city. He had said that there was no need to contact the police any further, as the matter was being taken care of. Indeed it was, a few DISFB were moving into the area to finish what their comrades had failed to.
Perhaps she would begin to wonder about his odd accent, and tell Edward about it, perhaps not? But for now, Edward was lying down as the others were standing guard either around the house or a few, just inside the house.
(Ooc- Mississippikaners are Mississippian whites born in ME, the 2nd and 3rd generation of settlers, they speak a very unique version of english and most all speak a whole different language as well, "Mississippikaans", a combination of Afrikaans, Italian, and ME local English, the reason being that a massive flood of Afrikaners poured into ME in 1994 and then a steady stream up until 2004 when MS added South Africa into the Commonwealth. At any rate, the large community of Italians, Boers, and Egyptian born MS whites, in ME, had always been such that their cultural influences were the most strong and most steering of the colony, and so over the better part of a decade, a new language began to take shape, today it is called "Mississippikaans")
She pondered over his quite different way of speaking. Not an Eldanoran, perhaps, maybe someone who was only half-Eldanoran? She pushed it to the back of her mind. It wasn’t something to make a fuss over, just a slight accent, after all.
