Exetonia today unveiled new plans to begin research into unmanned space flights controled from a mission control. This has been made feasable by the government deciding to plow its waste expenditure of $601,864,704,000.00 and $602,966,328,320.00 out of the law and order budget making a grand total of $1,264,026,036,320. It is hoped that within 6 months the first prototype will be ready followed by a test launch at the nearest avaliable date. If this is succesful then full production of a sattelite network both military and commercial wil begin and looking to the furture a possible manned space program.

Further development. It has been decided that a peacekeepr ICBM will be modified to be the unmanned launch rocket. It is hoped that due to teh sucess of these rockets for a military use that they may be converted to a launch vehicle. If succesful, the test will run on schedule in three months. We'll keep you up to date with the developments.

Many citizens and dignitaries gatherd around at the launch site outside of new Exeter. The time had come for the prestigious launching ceremony. A lot of work had gone into the retrofitting of an ICBM into a launch vehicle and it was going ahead. All the lights were screen.

Inside Mission control all the people gatherd around the monitor as it counted down the last 10 seconds and then it started counting up. On the monitor, the retor fitted icmb lifted from her launch silo and began climbing towards the atmosphere. It was amazing. Everyone gatherd and the visitors center were oooohing and aaaaahing as the rocket sailed towards her destination.

====2 hours later====

The sepperation had been a success and the vesel was in orbit. A controler pressed a button and the payload doors opened revealing a small communications sattelite which when deployed fully after 5 minutes began tansmtting the success message.

Exetonia had done it, they had enterd the space race with a succesful launch and now the project would begin in earnest. It would take about 25 years before Exetonia was ready to launch a ring of sattelites and maybe a manned space mission but for now they were happy with their first succesful launch.

Today, a manned flight to space was made on a flight capsule made from a modified control box on an old nuclear missile. the man, Yolando Jriss is the first exetonian in soace and he radioed that the project was a success. He succesfully re-enterd 2 hours ago and did not want to talk to the press. Now that men can get into space, exetonia is looking at creating a 'shuttle' vehicle to get large objects into space. That is all for now.

Today it was announced that in one year, Exetonia would have a shuttle capable of flying to the atmosphere and returning. This would enable the construction of a mobile sapce platform for the strategic defence of Exetonia and also, the building of a space station to house scientific apparatus. Impressive. If you succeed in building a space station, we may be able to beign major trade with you... we can import to you wonderful things from our colonies... but it would require us to be allowed to attatch a module to your space station, so our cargo ships could dock.

(OOC: Again, only if you want. Note that if you agreed you'd get more variety of imported foods, and much more urainium.)

Exetonia today launched 12 shuttles into orbit carrying anti-WMD defence platforms to shoot down enemy ICBM's and the like. These six platforms will becapable of stopping 350 missiles with a 52% succes rate giving the nation a greater chance of survival in the reult of nuclear attack. Exetonia is now conecntarting on designing a space station for use by many nations, a kind of international trade station and possible sight for further manned launches deeper into space, maybe as far as jupiters moons within 100 years.
The Imperial Navy
13-10-2004, 13:32
In a similar event, The Imperial Navy has commisioned construction of Freeport 4, which will be placed in orbit of the moon. With Freeport 3 now in orbit of mars, this means that 2 Freeport stations will be operative. The Freeport stations are both highly advanced centers of trade, allowing a nation of any Technical level to dock and exchange information and goods. All that is required is the ability to send man into space, and a Freeport station will be acessable to you.

Freeport 4 will take 5 years to build, but with automated construction, this may be a little overestimated.

Meanwhile, The Imperial contructor core on Tydus Prime has begun to contruct the module that will be attatched to the new Exetonian Space station when construction starts. the connector will be placed when we recieve plans of the new station, so we can get the measurements right.

It is believed that once constructed Exettonia will be looking towards her possible allies for craft making it possible to venture to Jupiters moons and maybe even pluto within a revised time of 50 years. Exetonia predicts that the space station will take 5 years to build with an additional 2 to add the new modules with 25 spaces then left for modules from other nations. Exetonia has decided to allow Endenia and TIN their modules for free due to their support of this project and hope it leads to a greater amount of trade between the two nations.

Exetonia, seeing Endenias latest developments welcomes her to the are aof deep space research. We hope that we have a long future in thsi are together and look forward to sharing space with Endenia. This is indeed a great day for both societies. Mars-I and Mars-II have just left the Earths orbit and are expected to arrive on mars in 6 months to begin colonistation whilst SS-I (Solar Station One) is being prepped to leave within 6 months and set up a deep space station at mars. We will then be looking at asking Endenia for help with surveying Jupiters moons and eventually Pluto before in 3 years time, exploration beyond our solar system begins.

We have just recieved word that the Moon Survey Shuttle "Energia-Luna' has just completed her survey of the Moon and has identified a potential colony spot on the surface.

With the success of Energia-Luna, StarFleet Strategic Command has ordered the construction of 'Energia-Terra' a massive colony ship planned by Star' End, the construction is taking place in Solaris Ship-Yards alongside the Energia-Buran star-ship series.

Once the colony ship is constructed, colonists will be loaded into the ship and sent to the Moon to establish Luna City and begin Endenia's Journey into the stars.

after joining the International Space Initiative. ESAhas decided to scrap its colony and deep sapce programs to use new technology being sold to it by the International fleet ship yards. Plans are being made to modify exetonias existing dry docks to be able to produce these vessels though it is unknown how much this will cost or how long it will take.

Recently Endenia has joined the ISI, however Endenia will not follow Exetonia's decision to contribute all of their space-borne assets to the ISI. 1st Councillor Cassandra Woo states that while it is good that Endenia joins a presitgious group of space-bourne nations, Endenia must not stray from her long-term goal of establishing Utopia Planetia City on Mars, with or without the ISI support.

Construction of the Energia-Buran Star-Ship is almost completed and missions to Mars and Venus have been planned for this brand new shuttle.

oh wow - never seen this thread - dont know if anybody else in the International Fleet is aware of the scope of your independant Mars and Lunar missions. You guys, Endenia and Exetonia are not pulling out of the IF are you? You havent been following the Councils thread lately.

If youre still in there are Budgets that require your aproval and the International Fleet regional issue of Resolution 7 that still needs a vote from you 2 and Kanabia and the Roman Republic.
