It has today emerged that 27 exetonia spies have been arrested in Swedish Dominions after trying to investigate a claim by another nation that Swedish Dominions had nukes. We are to understand that diplomats have been sent to the nation to try and secure their release although this is expected to be difficult.

The converted Boeing 747 landed and at secure airstrip 25 miles NW of the capital in Swedish dominions. Jacob Hanslow, director of the EIS, (Exetonian Intelligence Service) and Andrew Walters, director of the ambasidorial offices, stepped off the plane flanked by 20 SAS guards and heade for the military transport waiting to pick them up. They then began the 40 minute drive to a nearby military base where the spies were being held to attend diplomatic talks to secure the spies release. All the men were very nervous. If these talks broke down, they knew an all out war would ensue...

The Diplomats entered the military courtyard, many soldiers were standing there to greet them. The Swedish Foreign Minister, Duke Richard II approched the car. when the Diplomats stepped out of the car he said. "Welcome to the Swedish Dominions, we have things to discuss. Follow me." He turned around and started to walk towards the main building.

Jacob and Andrew followed the man into a small office with their guards staying behind and handing in their weapons as to not cause another diplomatic problem. They then sat and waited under armed guard hoping diplomatic means would work.

Jacob was about to open his mouth when Andrew silenced him, He then pulled a letter from his briefcase and handed it to the man in front of him. The letter read:
To the Leader of Swedish Dominions, I, John Jameson, President of the Exetonian Commonwealth do hearby formally appologise for my actions in sending spies into your nation to seek out eveidence of an already evident operation.
It was a silly arrogant thing to do but worse still, i expected them to not get caught. That was just sheer stupidity. I hope you can accpept a scincer appology from both myself and my chief of staffs and rest assured, an inccident like this will not happen again.
I have authoriised my chhieft ambassador and my head of intelligence presented before you to strike a deal for the spies release by anymenas nessicary. May i also be the first to say that failure to return these spies via a diplomacy may result in an act of war.
Again, my deepest appologies and regrest, John jameson, President of The Exetonian Commonwealth.

Both men could see the clear anger on the man in front of thems face. They wonderd if John had been far to arrogant once again...

The man smashed the table. "You think you can send in spies in our nation and then threatning with war if i don't accept the apology! Well, i'll give you one chance to convice me that you are sorry or we'll go to war." He sat down in a chair and called the king. "Youy majesty, you must come the Base. We are on the brink of war." That sentence was followed a long silence. "what? Ok, i'll come." He left his palace and went for New Stockholm Army Base.

"I was meley acting on orders kind sir and knew nothing of this war threat my President had made. For that I am deeply sorry" Andrew replied. "All I know is that myself and Jacob were instructed to hand you that letter and then beign talks. If I had known what was in the letter i would have never have shown it to you" He continued, lying through his back teeth.

"We, and our nation are only hoping to secure the release of Exetonian nationals from your wonderful territory" Jacob added."I deeply regret this event myself kind sir and am truley sorry for the inconvenience we have caused you and the costs. He finished.

Both men then sat down at the table next to each other with a look of worry on their faces. They both knew what their President had orderd and knew it was their asses on the line if they failed. They were genuinely concerned for their lives and that of their families and firnds vack at home. It was clearly showing that they had been lying...

"You do realise that we got death sentence. And Espionage is one of the most severe crimes on our nation. They will be executed."

He king entered the room and sat down. "What's going on?"

"Executed. Now, surely we can come to some dort of peaceable deal here. I mean, c'mon, were all civilised arent we." Andrew said shaking. If he was standing he would have collapsed

"We simply cannot allow that. You must be aware that executing the hostages would result in an all out war musnt you?"Jacob added."We can surley come to some agreement, we MUST be able to come to some agreement. I mean, you wouldnt really execute them would you?"

"Let me first remind you that those "Hostages" had conducted Espionage in a neutral state. Without reason, They were arrested. We got Death Penalty for Heavy Offences. And we see this event as a heavy offence. They will be executed. And oth..."

The King interupted. "He's right, they have crossed our border illegally and must be punished."

Jacob was about to speak when Andrew again stopped him before motioning for him to stand. He then handed the two men a piece of paper which read:

It is with the greatest of pains in my heart that due to the breakdown of diplomatic frequencies between our two nations I have no other choice other than to declare war on your fair nation to secure the release of those prisoners. If you would kindly allow my ambassadors and thei guard to leave as they were there on a civilian diplomatic envoy. Failue to comply WILL result in heavy attacks being launched on your nation state.

The two men turned to leave. Andrew pressed a button on his pager which sent a message direct to the Exetonian Government.

"What!!" came John's reply to the news. "Get me the joint chiefs of staff in here immediately. Cancel all military leave and place all military units on a war footing. Lock all silos on startegic locations in Swedish Dominions and load non-nuclear war heads. Prepare all bombers and their escorts for immediate launch and institute plan 01" Several men scurried away with John's order. John sat back and awaited his joint chief of staffs arrival. He knew soon he would have to adress them and soon the nation

As the men went to leave the base they were stopped and the two men emerged from the office....

(ooc:FYI, the exetonia ICBM's are fitted with multiple launch heads thus 1 = 16 and each seperate warhead carries 16 x 30 KG bombs.)

The King was furious. "This is your fault. Put all AA Guns on High Defence. All Anti Missile Systems on high alert and mobilize the army." He left.

The guards that stopped the two diplomats was ordered to "Help" them.

"We must do more than this aswell sir. We must prep the entirity of the armed forces for immediate war. 2/3rds of the army must go to Swedish dominions with 1/3rd staying behind to defend" General Jones, commander in chief of the army added.

"Also sir, if i may, we must strategically bombard Swedish Dominions with non-nuclear war heads to secure areas to land. We must bomb them into submission and we must do it fast." added Sam Ryans, head of strategic air command.

"All your points are noted and digested. I agree wholeheartedly. Men, begin immediately. We are at war. I will now address the nation of Exetonia."

People of Exetonia it is my sad duty to report to all of you that we are now at war with Swedish Dominions after peacable talks to secure the 27 spies releases broke down. I, as much as any of you did not want it to come to this but, we were left with no choice. As I speak, our nations military is going on maximum alert and war status. Rest assured, we will bring you victory and we will bring those men home. That is all i have to say on the matter for now. May god have mercy on our souls.
