Colonial Arms / SIG P221 10mm Pistol

Democratic Colonies
09-10-2004, 04:00
The Federated Union of Democratic Colonies has authorized the Colonial Arms Corporation, in conjunction with the SIG Arms Company of Switzerland, to export the SIG P221 Pistol. The standard sidearm of Colonial military personel, as well as federal law enforcement and security personel in the Democratic Colonies, the P221 is a 13 round 10mm semi-automatic pistol with an integrated laser sight. Considered to be highly accurate and reliable, the 10mm rounds the P221 is chambered for provide greater stopping power than the 40. S&W rounds while also resulting in less recoil than the 45. ACP rounds often used in similar pistols. Designed over a 3 year period by a joint Colonial Arms / SIG design team to combine the best features of today's modern sidearms, with a high one-shot-one-stop ratio without the excessive recoil of 45. caliber or above pistols, the 10mm P221 would serve any military, police, or security force well in today's modern field of operations.

Standard Caliber: 10mm
Length, overall: 208mm
Barrel length: 135mm
Weight unloaded : 780g
Capacity: 13 Rounds (10mm Rounds)
Integrated Laser Sight

The Colonial Arms/SIG P221 is being offered at $720 per pistol. The P221 LE, a modified P221 with the integrated laser sight removed, is available for $670 per pistol. Production rights for both versions of the P221 are available for a sum of 1.5 billion dollars. The Colonial Government reserves the right to veto any sales as it deems fit.

At this time, Nutropinian Arms, operating out of The Sovereign Armed Dictatorship of Nutropinia, has available various extended magazines and a modification for the P221. The modification changes the firing mechanism to enable fire in both fully automatic and semi-auto modes. Nutropinian Arms should be contacted for further details. Nutropinian Arms is currently the only authorized multinational manufacturer of modifications and extended magazines for the SIG/Colonial Arms co-production P221 10mm Pistol.

OOC: Comments welcome. I'm not sure how popular the 10mm cartridge is on NS.

The Colonial Arms/SIG P221 has garnered high praise from many of its users. From the special agents of the Colonial Security Bureau to the beat cops of the Passchendale Police Department, complaints are far and few between while praise and reports of user satisfaction have never been more common for a Colonial issue pistol. The following is the testimonal of Senior Agent Sam Porter, of the Colonial Security Bureau.

"I love the P221, it's a marked improvement over our old pistols. We used to be issued Berreta 92Fs, 9mm semi-autos. Yes, the 92F is a pretty good weapon; accurate, reliable, generally a decent pistol all around - but it didn't really have the stopping power that we sometimes need here in the Security Bureau. I remember this one time, must have been a few years ago, I was posted to the Balmora City CSB office. We were operating in conjunction with the Balmora Police Department to track down an infamous mafia don named Juan Lebadev. Let me tell you, this Lebadev fellow was bad news - he had criminal links to everything imaginable. Drug smuggling and production, kidnapping, extortion, armed robbery, grand theft, counterfeiting money, this guy was the big crime kingpin in the Democratic Colonies. Word on the street though, was that he was having health problems; all those years of smoking and drinking had finally caught up to him. Informants placed him at a smalltime clinic in the east end of Balmora - a rougher part of the city. Balmora PD confirmed it a few days later, Lebadev was spotted getting out of a limo and into a clinic with his girlfriend and a large number of bodyguards. The Balmora CSB office and the Balmora PD immediately went out in force that same day, we wanted to catch him as he left the clinic. At that point, the P221 had just been issued to the Bureau as a replacement for the Berreta 92F, and we weren't really sure how it'd perform in a real life situation. Balmora PD was still using the 92Fs."

"Anyways, as Lebadev was exiting the clinc, we were ready for him. Balmora SWAT had snipers on a few adjoining rooftops, and Balmora PD and CSB agents were ready to sweep in as soon as the word was given. The situation really went to hell though, as soon as the doors of the clinic opened - there was a massive explosion, the limo waiting for Lebadev went up in a ball of flame that must have been atleast 12 feet high. We were confused at first, but it all became clear within another few seconds - someone else wanted Lebadev too. Opa Petrokofski, leader of Russian criminal elements in the Colonies had somehow gotten word that Lebadev was in the area as well. Lebadev and Petrokofski's underworld organizations had been in fierce compition for months, and it was only a matter of time before open warfare between the two mafia syndicates broke out. About two dozen members of the Russian mafia emerge from nowhere, spraying AK-47 assualt rifles. Lebadev's bodyguards return fire with Uzis, MAC-10s, and a variety of handguns. Bullets are whizzing all around, and atleast in my mind, and probably the mind of every other CSB agent there, was the thought 'Is this new P221 pistol going to be enough to take out guys with Uzis, AKs and Desert Eagles?' Well, I'm glad to say that it was. The commanding agent orders us in, we're to engage both Lebadev and his bodyguards as well as Petrokofski's people. Myself and my partner are, ofcourse, worried about this, but we go in. We come out from behind our Bureau car, where we were hiding, and go in with guns blazing. Now, I'd fired the P221 at the firing range before then, but even that didn't prepare me for the smooth action and high accuracy of the weapon. I trained my sights on one of the Russians first, and yelled at him 'Freeze! Federal agent!' Ofcourse, that didn't work, and he started to bring his AK in my direction. I fire a pair of shots at him, my laser sight still off, and he goes down immediately. Dropped like a sack of bricks. Next, I turn my sights on another one of the Russians, again, yelling at him to freeze only makes him want to shoot me. I take quick aim down my sights, and pull off a snap shot at his head while diving behind a car for cover. My partner later told me that I got him right between the eyes, and that his head literally exploded. I took down another three of the Russians within the next few minutes of the intense gunbattle, usually only needing one shot from my P221 to take someone down. Before long, it was nearly over - Lebadev was dead, and most of his remaining bodyguards were surrendering to us. The Russians for the most part had been taken down by us."

"Myself and my partner were in the process of cuffing one of the Russians who had surrendered when we heard a scream from behind us - one of the Russians had a Desert Eagle to Lebadev's girlfriend. One of his arms around the girls neck, and other weilding the massive 50. caliber pistol, most of his body was behind her, shielded from the SWAT snipers. Some of the Balmora Police slowly approached, thier Berretas drawn, but none of them dared take a shot since they might hit the girl. Me though - at this point, I thought of the P221 as the most accurate pistol I'd ever fired. I brought up my P221, activated the laser sight to ensure that I had the bastard, and put a 10mm round right into the Russian's left eye. The girl was a bit shaken, but she was fine. Couldn't have been more than 16 - Lebadev was one sick SOB. Anyways, that was the start of my love affair with the Colonial Arms/SIG P221. In the years since then, the P221 has served me well. After our performance at the clinic shootout, the Balmora PD was so impressed that they too adopted the P221 as thier standard pistol. In my professional opinion, the Colonial Arms/SIG P221 is the finest pistol that could be issued to anyone - be it for police or security duty, or military service. I think that anyone who tries the P221 will find it an excellent weapon, and I think any organization would be well served by it."

The new Syranese government is in need of a reliable sidearm to equip our small, yet growing army. As we prepare to send troops overseas to deal with certain terrorist threats, our military is interested in purchasing 25.000 of these 10mm guns for our use. The Defense Minister Chris Danielson has authorized us to make a deal for the purchase of these weapons, with all due haste.

This price has a discount of 200 million dollars built in - we at the Colonial Arms Corporation believe that a developing democratic nation such as yourself deserve a discount considering the amount of weaponry you are looking to purchase and the threats you are likely to encounter in the course of your counter-terror operations.

SIC: The Nutropinian Arms manufacturing industry has produced for our military three new magazines for the weapon and a modification for the gun. The modification we have developed changes the firing mechanism and to enable fire in both fully automatic and semi-auto modes. A selector switch is provided on the gun. A 21 Round regular Straight Magazine. A double magazine with 13 rounds in each magazine that can be flipped over and in order to facilitate quick reloading. The last is pretty ingenious. It is a 42 round magazine that is like a box magazine at the top but once it leaves the gun curves around in a circle. This enables long firing times when in fully automatic modes. We will sell production rights for the modification to you for 500 milion USD and production rights for the magazines for another 500 million USD if you wish. If not we will not distribute the magazines or modification outside of Nutropinia.

The Syranese Defense Minister has authorized this purchase, and we shall send the money for this first shipment promptly. Our government shall send the 1.6 billion dollars the day you recieve this message, to be transferred directly to the necessarry accounts. We appreciate this arrangement, and would in fact like to quadruple it at the nearest point in time. Our government possesses a mandatory military service requirement, and as our new nation's administrative services increase, the number of soldiers within our military increses exponentially, it seems. We would also like another shipment of 100,000 in addition to this to be sent two months (IC months) after the 25,000 and additional 75,000 are sent. Please send us the bill for these, and they shall be paid immediately. We appreciate your time.

The Colonial Arms Corporation is sorry to inform you that due to a filing error by our accounting office, you were overcharged by a very large amount. The fee for the inital shipment of 25,000 P221's was 18 million dollars. The 1.6 billion fee presented to you was supposed to be presented to the Colonial Marine Corps for a much larger order that included massive amounts of ammunition. The Colonial Arms Corporation apologizes profusely and hopes this incident does not negatively affect our business relationship.

The total for the 175,000 P221 Pistols remaining to be shipped amounts to 126 million dollars. The total fee for the 200,000 pistols purchased by you is 144 million dollars. It is our hope that a further discount of your price down to 140 million dollars will be an acceptable token of our deepest regrets and apologies in your misbilling. The funds remaining in the accounts you've wired to us after your balance has been payed will be wired back to you with an increase provided by us of 1%. Sincerely apologizing,

Message from Defense Minister Christopher Danielson:

We thank you for catching the mistake as soon as you did. In fact, as I write this message, the funds have already been recieved. Your fast action was quite impressive, and while in the first place a mistake was made, the swift rectification of it gave your corporation a very good mark.

Anyway, the aides who had made the deal have been reassigned to other duties, replaced with those who can count. Still, those aides are quite lucky. I was going to fire them outright when we recieved the message and the money back. To tell the truth I was quite angry when I heard the actual cost.

Anyway, I thank you again for your swift action, and in fact am interested in your corporation's other wares. While an official notice of this is attatched to this message, dont bother reading it as this notice already gives the gist of what is said within. We want to buy other things from this corporation, and would like to know how to find such items.

Thank you again,
Defense Minister Chritopher Danielson

At this point in time, the only other unique weapon available by the Colonial Arms Corporation is the CP21 5.7mm Pistol, seen here: http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=381668 . While the P221 remains the standard issue sidearm of the Colonial military and the Colonial Security Bureau, the CP21 is popular amoung agents of the Colonial Intelligence Service and some of our special forces. The CP21 was essentially designed as the exact opposite of the P221 - small 5.7mm rounds instead of large 10mm rounds, which allowed for massive 24 round magazines instead of 13 round magazines.

Primarily, the Colonial Arms Corporation also manufactures M-8 Rifles (http://www.world.guns.ru/assault/as61-e.htm ), P90 Submachineguns (http://www.world.guns.ru/smg/smg13-e.htm ), SPAS12 Shotguns (http://spas12.com/spas12tech.htm ), a variety of ammunition, bodyarmour, and helmets with visor mounted heads-up-displays. Since the M-8, P90 and SPAS12 are all without international copyright, they can manufactured by any nation with the industrial capability without having to pay any other nation for manufacturing rights. As such, the Colonial Arms Corporation usually does not actively seek contracts for those weapons, as most nations who desire them simply produce them domestically.

We at Colonial Arms however, do appriciate your business and character greatly, and do believe that other, new developments soon to come out of the Colonial Arms Research and Development Division might be of considerable interest to you in the future. Efforts are always ongoing to develop new weapons, bodyarmour, and equipment for the military, security, and law enforcement personel of freedom loving nations, and the Colonial Arms Corporation would be proud to supply your troops with any newly developed weapons once they become available.
