Storyline:
The world has undergone a massive global revolution bringing in a new wave of Communist, Socialist, Republican and Fascist states. This has fueled the re-creation of a earthbound warring states period where the world has fallen into a period of massive warfare and sprees of conquest. Who will emerge victorious? Who will emerge the world leader?

How It Works:
Ok, basically, you choose a real life nation and register on the forums as that nation. You use the statistics of your NationStates country, meaning: economical, military and population statistics. This means that you have one billion to three billion people nations duking it out in massive wars of conquest and peace. The World at War game is pure military strategy and tactics, and is VERY FUN...just ask any of the hardcore fans of it: Malatose, Armacor, etc.

What's up with all of the uber tech equipment you got? That had to have taken a long time to put together. After looking over it, my spirits were extremly low with the fact that I am really far behind in technology.

The famed New Empire/South African arsenal has been compilied since the fall of 2003 in spurts of boredom (and reading novels).

For the most part, my technology is lifted from the following authors: Michael DiMercurio, Dale Brown, James Cobb, Stephen Coonts, and Joe Buff. The rest was thought up on NS or done with New Genoa (The KA vehicles).

It seems imposing now, but wait until Russia, Iraq, Spain, and some other nations get their stuff up. Many use original equipment, but you can get off fine if you're willing to put some money into more advanced RL systems.
