The Canadian Tundra
08-10-2004, 22:11
The Tundric News Network logo faded into existance as the screen turns into the TNN newsroom, with head anchor John Flemming.
"Today is a day that will be forever remember by the people of the Tundra, as only minutes ago the Tundric Navy launched the Tundra's first ever supercaviting vessel, the research ship CTRS Archangel. For further information, we go to George Hawkins who is at the Shadowport naval base, where the vessel is on display for the public..."
The screen turns to a young man standing in front of a large body of water. Behind the man the Tundra's 22nd battlegroup can be seen sitting in the water, identifiable by the flag with the number 22 flying below the Tundric and ship flags on all of the vessels. In front of the battlegroup is the supercav vessel, measuring about the size of a Proletariat corvette, the sleek vessel sat in the water for the public to admire.
"Thank you John, just behind me is the Archangel. She is about the size of a corvette, and most of its systems are scientific, as its no possesses no combat capabilities as of yet. The vessel is the culmination of years of research into supercavitation that have resulted in supercavitating cannons and torpedoes. In a few minutes, the vessel will submerge and head towards New Toronto, where it turn around, and head back. The trip will be quick, afterwhich, the ship will be taken for a shakedown cruise through international waters. Since this vessel is quite an investment, and is needed for the future development of supercavitating warships, security for the vessel is important. In addition to the crew and scientists, a small marine contingent will be aboard, and battlegroups deployed throughout international waters will ensure nearby air patrols. The navy however, has stated that it does not expect any sort of complication, but is merely being prepared. Also, it is putting out a call to the international community to help develop the supercavitating technology for the creation of a supercav warship."
OOC: Anyone who wants to help develop a supercav ship is welcome, and anyone wanting supercav technology is welcome to join in and contribute funds, scientists, or whatever, and in exchange probably get assistance in developing a supercav of your own
