(ooc: this is being done by Danversia and I, we already have the story planned out, but other nations can join but not take a fully active role. don't jump in to try to solve the problem, if you're gonna jump in, double check with one of us about how you can benefit the story line.)

Christopher Propia sat at the breakfast table as he read the headlines for that day. (ooc: http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=363436) 'It seems the government has become even softer,' he thought to himself. He scanned further down the page and found the headline he had feared. He read how the government suspected Heritigio Anapesto of the assassination. The Leader had said they would figure it out, it was all planned, but he couldn't help but worry that he was being watched. 'I'm losing it,' he thought, 'I didn't take any part in the assassination, I'm not tied to that event, besides, they haven't accused any specific person yet. Still though, if these 2 headlines aren't a sign from god to go ahead, then I don't know what is. But I'm looking for a sign from the Leader, not from-' His thoughts were cut short as the phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Hey Chris, how's it going?" Chris' heart raced, he knew it was the voice of the Leader. He tried his best to remain calm however.
"I'm good, how bout yourself?"
"Not too bad, listen, I'm having a party 3 days from now, care to join?"
"Absolutely, I'd love to, want me to invite anyone?"
"Only if it's no trouble, can you invite Pete, Shelly, and Ingrid? Thanks."
"No problem at all, well, I'll see you then."
"Yup, see ya."
He hung up the phone. That was it, that was the message. They had spoken in carefully planned code the whole time. They would carry out the event they had been meticulously planning for months. His job was to round up P group and S group and to tell the informant that the attack was about to happen. He picked up the phone and dialed...

"But dad, I don't want to go to school!" Susan Claron folded her arms and made her best pouting face possible. This only worked half the time, but it was better to try it and have it work than not try it and definitely have to take her test today. She didn't care about irregular Latin verbs.
"For the last time, you're going. I'm sorry but I'm very busy today, some situation over in Exetonian Empire, the whole mess in Exetonia Minor...just not today. Besides, you wouldn't want to miss Mrs. Wolfe's Latin test today." Edward Claron loved his daughter more than anything, but he wondered if being the President's daughter got to her head every now and then. Fortunately she went to a school that was attended by the upper crust, including many children of senators. "She talked to me after you missed school during your last test, not very good of you. If you do well, we'll get whatever you want for dinner tonight."
"You know, most world leaders' daughters would get a state or something, but noooo, I get a choice of dinner. Whoopee!" She said sarcastically as she walked out to the limo waiting to take her to school.
Claron smiled, he didn't know what he would do without his daughter. Now, he had matters to attend to.
As she was walking in, Susan noticed the electrical van sitting accross the street. There was something weird about it, she just couldn't put her finger on it. She said "hello" to the guards and walked in, ready for another day of school.

3 more vans pulled up outside the middle school. Each van was loaded either with all sorts of equipment: mostly guns but some security measures; or they were loaded with terrorists. This was gonna be their largest undertaking since the end of the Revolution. The assassination only involved 3 members, this would involve 32. Without a word, little beeper-like objects began vibrating to signal the start of the operation. The soldiers looked at each other and waited for the signal to go. 2 shots rang out from snipers positioned on roofs of buildings near the school, and the two guards outside dropped to the ground. Everyone immediately piled out and ran towards the school. They pushed open the doors, being careful not to break them and entered in.
There weren't many more guards inside, all were dispatched easily. It seemed to be all over within a minute. Troops entered each classroom and announced they were taking over. The students were divided among 5 rooms, the teachers in 1, and the rest of the administration was kept in the office; the rooms were carefully picked as none had windows. All of the janitors and food prep people were killed on sight. Snipers positioned themselves facing all directions on the schools roof and terrorists with heavy machine guns set themselves up at each entrance to the school. Bombs were set up in each classroom that contained people. Various alert systems were set up at any other remote possible entrance that couldn't be guarded. The snipers would see anyone trying to enter the building.
Bruce Celaan, called the Leader by his group, remained in the office. He would make this his base of operations. This had been planned for months upon months and he made sure the plan was fool-proof.
Bruce grabbed a secretary pointed a gun at her and forced her to come in a seperate room. He tossed her inside and shut the door.
"God Bruce, you didn't have to be so damn rough."
"Sorry, just wanted to make it look realistic." He pointed to the computer. "That has names and pictures on it?"
"Sure does," the secretary replied.
"Alright, bring up the senators' kids, Claron's daughter, and anyone else you think will be of interest." He printed out the pictures and handed them to a few fighters standing by. They returned a few minutes later with a group of 30 children. They kept 5 in the office, including Susan Claron, and moved the rest to another classroom.
Bruce then allowed a different secretary to call 911, and carefully listened to the call, making sure the secretary told the dispatcher of the situation, but didn't give away any details. Right when she had said enough, Bruce ended the call. All he could do now was wait. Wait for word from the snipers that they had received the attention they needed.

President Edward Claron sat in his office, sorting through various reports when the Head of Intellignce walked in.
"Mr. President, I have some bad news."
"What happened?"
"Well, actually it's just started. You see...your daughter...her school has been taken hostage."
"WHAT?! What do you mean hostage?!"
"Yes sir, we've got the place surrounded now, but their leader is threatening to execute everyone if we attempt to go in. They have guards at every door, and the whole place is being monitered. It's virtually airtight. There may be one way in, but-"
"Just get me down there!"
The presidential chopper landed outside the school which was already surrounded by police tape 100 meters from the school, which the terrorists had designated as a do-not-cross line. The area outside this zone was swarming with surveilance, RBI, and Secret Service.
"We've already established a com link with their leader and we're talking," shouted the head of the RBI over the roar of the helicopters. "They're demanding one thing, but you won't like it."
They entered the tent being used as their command center. Claron put on a head set and listened.
"No!" the terrorist was saying in an accent that sounded somewhere between Arabic and Russian. "We will only leave on the condition that you release Georgio Sezaar and we are sure he is safely within Anapestic borders."
"What the hell is Pesta thinking?! Why would he do this? You said there might be a way in?"
"Yes, it's through a sewer system. It's a small entry, but the snipers can't see us going in and they most likely don't have it guarded. That's our only way in where the snipers can't see us. Trust me, we've been analyzing this for hours. We can send in a team of commandos on your order."
"Do it." Was all the President said. He kept going over in his mind what he could do to Pesta in return. Surely the international community would never stand for this. As soon as they found out a nation was using terrorism to get their way, there would be a large response to take them down. All of a sudden, a horrible thought crossed his mind. What if it wasn't Pesta? Sezaar may be important to Anapest, but he's equally as important to Heritigio Anapesto. He had to contact Pesta...

Adolf Gorreing, Chief Officer of Forgien Affairs was recieving his morning briefing. On the briefing was the report of a school hostage crisis in Danversia.

Both Hienkels will not like this he thought. [Referring to the Dictator and his brother, the Chief Officer of Defense]

"Moniter the crisis. If anything important happens, notify me right away," he said to the Briefing Officer. "The Dictator hates when girls are killed."

Bruce stood in the office, this was getting nowhere. He always was a little impatient, and he hated these waits. He wished they would just release Sezaar and let everyone go home. His head whipped around as he heard a buzzer going off. He looked at the tv screens showing the cameras around the school and saw the warning light lit up for the sewers.
"Sneaky bastards! Get down to the sewers, now! Take gas," he said to 4 men standing by. They rushed down to the sewer entrance below the school. As they stood outside the opening they could faintly hear the commandos whispering to each other. The terrorists all donned their gas masks and tossed gas as the Danversian soldiers came through. They kept their weapons trained on the entrance, but the commandos were down before they even got inside. They dragged the soldiers into the office where they were tied up.
Bruce turned on the camera to show his next act. As the light went on, he looked in the camera as he held a gun to the principal's head.
"That wasn't very prudent of you. You should have realized I would find out. It's too bad Mr. Serp, I understand you were very well liked." With that he pulled the trigger and put a bullet in the principal's head. Next, he brought the commandos before the camera and carefully cut each one's throat as they woke up. "Don't try that again, next attempt will result in the death of all the teachers." 'This is going quite well,' he thought to himself, 'we should have Sezaar back by the end of the week.'

After returning from diplomatic talks, Alexander Pesta was approached by one of his aides in his private office.
"What do you want?" He barked at the aide.
"There's a call for you my lord, from President Claron. He says it's urgent."
"Oh god, what is he whining about now? Bring it up on the screen." Edward Claron's face appeared on the video conference screen. He didn't look happy. "Hey Eddie, how's it going?"

The Chronosian Imperium offers greetings and aid in this time of great hardship. We have troops who can be transported in as soon as possible; anti-terrorist Imperial Guard and Space Marine detachments, supported by our foremost negotiaters, the Librarians of the CHapters who will be sent.#
We can arrive within 24 hours.

"What the hell is the meaning of this Pesta?!" He had just witnessed one of his friends and 5 of his special forces agents get killed. Claron was in no mood for Pesta's jokes. He kept going over scenarios in his mind, but none seemed to work out quite as he planned.

Chronosia - Thank you, but all we need at the moment is a plan. If you can help us with that, we would be more than happy for you to help.

Perhaps allowing us, as a powerful yet neutral force, to negotiate would work. If not; we have the raw force to ensure the death of the hostage takers, with minimal risk to the hostages. That is, if everyone keeps a level head.

Chronosia - I know these guys, they won't give up till Sezaar is free, but we'll put it off for as long as possible.
As for the military help, here's the situation: snipers on the roof in all directions, anyone gets within 100m of the school, they execute hostages. Any terrorist dies, they execute hostages. In the event of any form of raid, they kill everyone. The office is in the basement, so it takes awhile to get there. They're all linked up by headset, so they know if anything happens. If you can come up with an idea to bypass all of that, tell me please.

"What is the meaning of what, Claron? Don't scream at me for something I don't even know I'm doing. You would be advised to watch your tone with me. Now, what's the big fuss about?"

Bruce listened as the negotiator offered yet another variation of his bargain.
"How about this, we'll release 3 Lieutenants of your choosing, and shorten Sezaar's imprisonment, how's that?"
Bruce whipped his pistol around and shot a random secretary in the head.
"ENOUGH! I tire of this! If you do not agree to Sezaar's release within 6 hours, I will begin executing hostages, starting with the senators' children. We will not accept anything but Sezaar's release, that is our only purpose."
Bruce hung up the video phone and walked away from the camera, fuming mad. He didn't exactly enjoy all this killing, but it was necessary in order to get their point accross. A couple minutes later, the video phone rang again. 'If this is another one of their stupid offers, I'm gonna-' He turned the phone, camera, and screen on. "Well, finally. Hello Mr. President. And Supreme Commander, I'm happy to see you have joined us."

"A hostage situation? What a pity. All I can tell you is I have nothing to do with it(ooc fyi: truth)...Asking for Sezaar's release?...Hmm, must be Heritigio, 'cause I can promise you I'm not involved. You know I'd be the first person to tell you if it was under my orders...Ya, I'll hold on......I'm not gonna talk them out of this, I may not be at the head of this, but you know I wouldn't mind Sezaar back...Conditions I will do though, patch him in." The screen Pesta was looking at shrunk as another image came into view, that of the terrorist inside the school building. He was now looking at the image of Edward Claron and Bruce Celaan.

"Well, finally. Hello Mr. President. And Supreme Commander, I'm happy to see you have joined us."
Claron looked at the image projected on the small screen to see if he could recognize the terrorist. Unfortunately the man wore a ski mask, making him unrecognizable.
"I think we might be ready to agree to Sezaar's release. I brought Pesta into this so we could discuss the conditions of his release. If you think for one second that I trust you enough to just leave after Sezaar goes home, you're sorely mistaken."

"And if you think for one second that we trust you to release Sezaar after we leave or that we trust you to let us just leave here after this is over, then you are sorely mistaken!" Bruce took a breath before continuing. "It seems like we are at an impasse Mr. President."
"Wait," Pesta said, speaking for the first time since the three-way conference had started. "I think I may be able to help. How are the following arrangements: Danversia takes Sezaar in their own chopper over into our capital, and they keep Sezaar held at gunpoint until the school is freed. If he is assassinated on our soil without provocation, I can only consider it an act of war, and I will respond accordingly. If anything happens to anyone in the school, Sezaar represents Heretigio Anapesto, and Danversia can take appropriate actions regardless of where he is."
"As for us leaving," Bruce stepped in, "we can remotely detonate the bombs if you try to attack us while we're leaving. You only have to release Sezaar from your custody after you have evacuated the whole school. No hostages are to evacuate until we are on our way to Anapest."
"And I will send my own military helicopters to pick up Heretigio. If they are attacked at all, I will also consider that an act of war. How does all this sound, Claron?"

Ludo: So they already starting killing people?

Gorreing: Yea, it looks that way...starts telling them the deal.

Ludo: Anybody up for some "unproked attack by an undentified nation over international waters?" [Referring to their escape plan].

Otto von Hienkel Rommel: I think Elizabeth would approve. [Referring to the Dictator's wife, Elizabeth Smart]. Just be very careful about it. Make it so no body knows who attacked them.

Ludo: OK, I'll send AWACS over there now! We'll use the "freedom fighters" we got from East Timor to attack them from undentified helicopters.

Edward Claron stayed deep in thought for a moment. This was a huge decision to make. Georgio Sezaar is a very evil man who should not be released upon the world. By releasing him it might cause more deaths worldwide by terrorist actions, but he couldn't just let the hostages be killed. Apart from the fact that his own daughter, who he loved, was the main hostage, the death of some 750 children would not be very good PR. The Danversian government would be seen as weak. He had to, he had to give in and free Sezaar, there was no other option.
Next he had to consider the conditions of the release. Was everything in favor of both parties? He went over multiple scenarios in his head, but all ended in the hostages surviving and Sezaar getting free. If this was going to end well, this was the only solution.
"Fine. I'm not happy about it, but I guess I have no other choice, do I? I'll link back up when he's on his way."
Claron sighed, this was it. He was about to release one of the most dangerous known terrorist leaders upon the world.
Danversia
11-10-2004, 05:15
He called Camp Donley Ultra-Maximum Secutrity Prison via the specially designed phone, which had both optical scanners and fingerprint scanners attached to it. He was immediately connected to the warden.
"Hello Mr. Dellinger, this is President Claron. I am hereby ordering the release of General Georgio Sezaar, fingerprint and optical scan to follow."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dellinger couldn't believe his ears. The president had just ordered the release of their most infamous war criminal. But orders are orders. He awaited the print out that was basically Sezaar's ticket to freedom. It was a confirmation, printed on anti-forgery paper, that stated that a prisoner could be released. This piece of paper was full-proof, it could not be copied, forged, or changed in any way and still come out the same. He took the paper and began to walk toward the underground courtyard where the prisoners were allowed to move around. On the way he summoned 10 guards holding M-16s to follow him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Georgio, look!" Shouted a nearby prisoner as he pointed to the tv in the courtyard. Georgio reluctantly left his dice game and walked over to the tv set.
"This had better be good, I was on a winning streak."
"This is just an update on the hostage crisis at Carrigon Middle School in Romana." Stated the reporter standing with a view of the school in the background. "The terrorists, who are believed to be from Heretigio Anapesto, have begun talks with the government regarding the safe release of the hostages. The terrorists are making only one demand, that General Georgio Sezaar be released from prison."
With that a loud cheer rose from everyone in the courtyard. In the middle of their cheer, Warden Dillinger walked into the courtyard followed by 10 guards. The room was instantly silent. Dillinger had the ability to strike fear into the hearts of many, the only person that stood up to him was Sezaar. Everyone else that had stood up to Dillinger in the past had been killed or locked away in solitary. It was believed that the only reason Sezaar wasn't dead was because he was such a high profile prisoner. Dillinger stormed in, headed directly for the crowd of people. While the others backed away, Sezaar stood his ground. Dillinger stopped with his face only inches from Sezaar's. They stood like this for a minute, playing one of the oldest forms of chicken. When neither man showed signs he would back down, Dillinger spoke.
"I don't know how the hell you pulled this one off asshole, but you're going to come with us. The president has allowed you to be released."
This brought an enormous cheer from the prisoners in the courtyard, but they were soon quieted as the soldiers fired off a few rounds into the air. They chained Sezaar up and began walking him through the cell blocks toward the ascention station. As they walked through the cell blocks, someone began singing. It started with one person in one cell, but soon it grew until the whole prison was singing. They were singing "Fal da guin Anapesto" also known as the song of the revolution. The song itself was in English, only the title was written in ancient Anapestish. The singing overpowered any other sound in the prison that moment. Sezaar only looked up and smiled.
Finally they reached the release point where they had to go through a series of checks before he could be released.
"Prisoner name?" asked the guard at the desk.
"Georgio Sezaar." Replied the Warden.
"Prisoner number?"
"3567643866643."
"Reason for release?"
"Presidential pardon."
"Forms?"
Dillinger handed over the forms.
"Conditions?"
"Sezaar is to leave the country immediately and not return. If he is to return, he is deemed a national threat and will be executed on sight."
"Prisoner, do you agree to these conditions?"
"I, Georgio Sezaar agree with the conditions that I am to leave the country immediately and not return. If I am to return, I am deemed a national threat and will be executed on sight."
"Thank you, you will now be transported to Anapest City via Danversian military helicopters."
"All I can say," said the Warden as he led the prisoner out to the waiting choppers, "is that you're an asshole and I hope you die real soon."
"All I can say," Sezaar replied, "is that I will do everything I can to make sure the same happens to you."
With that Sezaar loaded into the helicopter and the convoy of helicopters headed south for Anapest City.

Alexander Pesta sat inside his office, waiting for any sign of a transport. He began to worry if something would go wrong. Claron could very well outright refuse to give Sezaar up, even if it meant the death of those hostages. Although this was unlikely, his mind still played with the thought and he wondered if already sending the choppers to pick up the terrorists was a bad idea. It was bad enough that he was picking them up, he really shouldn't allow them to escape, what would the world think? He had been quite careful in showing that his regime was not a terrorist one, but all the words in the world couldn't change the fact that he was transporting a group of hostage takers back to his country. He made up his mind, the PR would be a nightmare, he couldn't just bring them back. He activated the video conference phone.
"Claron?"
"What Sezaar? He's on his way, give it time."
"No, I'm not calling about that, I'm calling to say I'd like to make a deal with you, a show of my good will you could say." Claron stared at him through the screen, a look on his face that showed he didn't care for Pesta's jokes. "Ok, so it's more of an avoidance of a nightmare with the press. I'm willing to deliver those terrorists into Camp Donley for you. I want to show that I'm not in league with these terrorists."
Claron had a look of pure skepticism on his face. "Pesta, if you think I'm going to let you park a military helicopter in the middle of Camp Donley...then I'd have to say you're smoking something."
"Fine, we'll drop them outside, how does that sound?"
"I'd like for you to have any kind of nightmare possible, but I'd like even more to have those terrorists in custody, so I'll allow it. Remember that place has SAM sites on it, so any funny business..."
"And I lose 3 choppers, I know." His attention was drawn outside as a trio of helicopters bearing the Danversian flag touched down. "You're little present to me has arrived, gotta go!" He made a quick call and ran outside to greet his friend.

Bruce looked nervously around the office. It was taking longer than expected. Suddenly the video conference phone rang.
"You can leave now Bruce, he just arrived here."
He smiled and ended the call. This could not have gone any more perfectly. Plus, it seemed Pesta was finally going to directly support them once more. Not that he didn't by virtue of allowing them to exist, but he was transporting them back home. He called over the radio and ordered all Heretigio to exit the building, ending with the people in the office. He made sure that all hostages stayed put until the Danversians could come in and tell them to leave.
Bruce was last to leave the building. He looked around at all the faces looking toward the building. All looked as if they wanted to beat him to death right then and there. He quickly entered the chopper, and the convoy took off. As soon as the convoy had lifted off, Danversian special forces ran into the building, granting the frightened hostages much desired freedom. The last thing Bruce saw as he flew away was Susan Claron, tears streaming from her eyes, running into her father's arms.

"Georgio! My old friend!" Pesta said as he walked toward Georgio Sezaar, still in handcuffs with a soldier pushing a pistol into the back of his skull. Danversian guards came out the helicopter, making sure Sezaar didn't get away before he was supposed to.
"Alexander, it's been far too long. I assume you're going to grant me that position you promised way back when?"
"Of course, you will take command of the army. It's all yours."
"Excellent. It would be even more excellent if this dick head behind me wouldn't push that gun into my head so hard."
"Shut up!" The soldier said and visibly pushed harder so Sezaar's head was pushed forward. As soon as he had done that, one of the other soldiers received a transmission on his radio.

"The hostages are free." The soldier uncuffed Sezaar and with a shove set him free. Sezaar mockingly waved goodbye as the helicopters lifted off the ground and headed back toward Danversia.

Meanwhile, the convoy of choppers carrying the terrorists was approaching the border between Anapest and Danversia, when they began heading more eastwardly. The terrorists looked at each other, but didn't think much of it until Bruce looked out the window and saw where they were headed.

"Donley!!" Bruce yelled to the other terrorists in his chopper as the choppers started to touch down out front of Camp Donley. The other two choppers touched down and the terrorists inside were caught of guard and taken inside to be processed. The final chopper didn't have such luck.
Upon seeing their destination, Bruce and the others immediately attacked the Anapestic guards in the chopper and killed the pilot. Just as the chopper was touching down, Bruce grabbed the controls and lifted the chopper back into the air. The Danversian soldiers had orders not to shoot the helicopters unless fired upon, so they all stood there as the final Anapestic chopper lifted back off and headed southeast toward the Anapestic border...

Romana, Danversia
The 3 day hostage crisis at Carrigan Middle School came to an end earlier today as the hostages were all released. This came only after the releasal of known terrorist leader Georgio Sezaar. The terrorists, from Heretigio Anapesto, were all reported as captured and taken to Camp Donley Ultra-Maximum Security Prison this afternoon.
"It was a hard day for our nation, but we pulled through. We can only hope that Georgio Sezaar has learned his lesson and will not commit any more acts of terror." President Edward Claron said in a press release after the hostages were released.
Neither Alexander Pesta nor Georgio Sezaar issued a comment, although rumors abound that Sezaar will be made co-dictator of Anapest.
13 people died in the Carrigan Hostage Crisis. A government funded ceremony will take place later this week.
