<ooc: takes place after the end of the Gecko City incident>

This is a special presentation from the Venom Corporation.

(Camera cuts to scientist standing in front of a black curtain.)

"Many people know the horrid of biological warfare, and how it changed the very essence of war, but few innovations in the bio-warfare field can stand up to the IG virus. Created by the government of Decisive Action, this virus has a reversal affect on a subject’s brain, making the person resort to animalistic behavior. The most basic of these animal behaviors, the need to feed, is most prevalent."

(The curtain is pulled back, revealing an infected subject who has various bite marks on them.)

"Meet patient #VCM14324, his name is William. William was a victim of the recent IG breakout in Gecko City, which has been resolved. As you can see, William has been bitten multiple times, twice on the arm and once on the shoulder. We estimate that William died 15 minutes after the initial bite, but what you see before you is a moving body."

(The scientist starts moving his hand toward the infected man, but keeps them a safe distance from his mouth. The man's body is secured in a metal frame.)

"The need to feed overrides all impulses, all thought. The creature is no longer human, but a rotting shell of a being."

(The scientist starts moving his hand close to the mouth of the creature, but quickly pulls it away. The creature snaps at the hand, trying to catch it. The creature makes noises, obviously frustrated.)

"William is infected with the original strain, unchanged from the moment it reached the port of Gecko City. But our next subject is not."

(The camera slides over to reveal a man sitting in a chair; his hands are secured along with his feet. The man looks, for the most part, normal. Upon closer inspection a bandage can be seen on his shoulder, but his shirt covers it.)

"Patient #VCM14325, how are you feeling?"

"Well enough, I suppose. My shoulder kinda hurts."

"Yes, the pain medication should take the edge off, you required some stitches."

"Oh. Funny, I don’t remember much."

"That’s the pain medication also, it can have adverse effects on the memory, but they are only temporary. Patient #VCM14325, do you remember your name?"

"Yes, my name is Marcus."

"I see it has no effect on your long term memory."

"Last think I remember is sitting in a helicopter, going to some city in one of the lower colonies."

"Let's not worry about that right now."

(The scientist presses a play button on the console next to him, a video clip begins to play. The video depicts Marcus suffering a full IG breakout. It shows Marcus attacking a man, right before being detained and locked in a concrete room.)

"Marcus, that is you 1 week ago. You were suffering the advanced form of a very nasty virus."

"Why was I attacking that man, where is that? Why was I attacking people?"

(Marcus is visibly upset.)

"You were suffering the advanced stages of a disease, you were not to blame. Luckily, we were able to cure you."

"I want to go home, where is my home?"

::The IG-GC Strain::

The emergence of this new strain of the IG virus presents an amazing opportunity for the Venom Corporation to experiment in gene therapy. This version of the virus, unlike its predecessor, augments the physical and mental attributes of the infected. The virus becomes a retrovirus; a virus which changes the carriers DNA, these changes at the cellular level give the carrier increased strength, speed, agility and intelligence. They also exhibit increased cellular growth allowing for a faster healing ability, nearly twice as fast as normal.

The virus is still curable, but the DNA changes remain. This only occurs in a relatively low percentage of the population (10 occurrences in the Gecko City Incident), all of which share in the presence of a specific gene that allows the DNA to be altered. Every 4 years a booster cure is given for safety reasons. The gene, which allows the mutations, has been identified and prepped for introduction into other possible hosts. If the gene takes, the test subjects will go through the procedure.
