The Arctic Badlands

The Federation of The Arctic Badlands is a small island located in the Northern Atlantic Ocean. It is a Communistic nation controlled by a generally regarded “evil” dictator by the name of Foxx Duman. He makes the laws, he enforces the law, and he is the law. Whatever he says goes. Foxx has complete control over the military which along with the nation’s police forces ensures that his laws are properly enforced. Also Foxx has a cabinet of several officials (hand chosen) to advise him on certain issues such as defense, national security, law & order, foreign affairs, intelligence, the economy, etc.
The military is divided up into three branches: the army, the navy, and the air force. All able male citizens of the Arctic Badlands-who haven’t already enlisted for military service are required to serve in the military-are required to serve in the military (any branch of their choice) once they reach the age of 21 years. They may either enlist full-time or part-time. They must serve for a minimum of 5 years, but they may, if they wish, enlist for a longer period of time.
The nation is divided into 10 regions or sectors. A governor is appointed to each one by Foxx Duman. The duty of a governor is to protect their region & see to it that laws are obeyed and those who violate them are prosecuted properly. As well, it is their duty to address any issues of the region directly to the dictator. They are chosen directly by the dictator and can only be fired by the dictator. All governors must be in the military and at the rank of Lt. General (no larger, no smaller). The governor has authority over all military forces stationed in their region. Basically, governors are the dictator’s ears & eyes in the region.
There are few real rights to the people of The Arctic Badlands. A few are granted, but it’s a rare occasion the people will be allowed any real rights. As dictator Foxx Duman only allows what he feels the people should be allowed. There are absolutely no political freedoms. Since there are no democratic elections there are no political parties. However, there are a few small underground groups which have different ideologies but all dedicated to the overthrow of the dictatorship government. Anyone caught participating in such a groups fate will be chosen by Foxx Duman himself. So far, all those accused of this crime have been subject to public execution.

For hundreds of years the Arctic Badlands were ruled by a fair & just royal family. There was a king. There was a queen. However, in 1870 things would change. An evil group known as the Green Army overthrew the king & queen. Every member of the royal family was publicly beheaded. A new government took control. The leader of the Green Army, Francis Duman, claimed his position as dictator. Since then the Arctic Badlands has been dictated by a member of the Duman family. When Eric Duman died (1976) in his will his 34 year old cousin Foxx was appointed as the new dictator.
