Navy: This will be about 1.9 to 2.1 billion dollars upkeep

Airforce: Negiligble cost maybe 50 60 million with the Night Hawks being the main cost

Army: Upkeep of Equipment would cost about 467.5 million dollars.

Just off the top of my head a simple formula for calculating up keep costs is to work on the following (very very rough) values:
All values represetn a % of the purchase/aquistion cost
Land:
Jeeps/trucks/APCs: about 2% or less
Tanks/Arty/missiles: about 5-10%
Air:
transports: about 10%
helos: between 10-20% (high end would be unreliable and complicated systems such as the apache)
Fighters: about 15%
bombers/recon/EW: about 15%

Naval generally about 2-20%

This would be all maintainance, personel, fuel and ammo costs and these are very rough figures. Ongoing upgrade activity, Mid life update and life extension programs would also be included.

Navy upkeep will be about: 4.4 billion withoutmen.
With men Estimating the crews of the ships +3 for support and logisitics(a rather high estimate for the navy though it will probably be less but this is the high number) will be 258 thousand men- with an average salary of 25 thousand a year will be 6.5 billion in salaries.

Air Force- The Air force cost will still be able 90-110 million since most of your air force is helicopters.
With Personal youll only need about 2000 people so that will be about 40 million also.

Army- 5,564 total vechiles upkeep will be about 556 million a year.
Now each vechile will ussually be crewed with 2-4 people so well average it out to three crew per vechile. 139 million dollars for salaries. With support this will be between 3-6 people depending on how organized your logistics are and whether its combined logisitics force of all services working together assuming its not ill use six people per vechile for logistics. 834 million dollars in salaries for maximum logistical support.

Well, for one thing, all of you are forgetting fuel costs.... military aircraft cost about $5,000 an hour to fly (FOR EACH HOUR) and that includes fuel, replacement parts (engines wear out fast), electronics etc...

To give you a figure to work with, in the First Gulf War, the US used 8 combat divisions, 120 combat ships and 3,600 aircraft for a cost of $70 Billion for about 90 days of combat, that includes cost of transportation half way around the world, ammunition expended, replacement of damaged or destroyed equipment, and everything else (except pay for the troops)...

you have a force roughly a third of this size, so figure about $18 Billion for 90 days of combat

that help?

By the way, a heavy division costs about $6 Billion to raise, equip (and that includes 30 days fuel, ammunition and parts)

A carrier task force is about $10 Billion (including aircraft)

A combat Wing is about $3 Billion (plus another billion for 30 days fuel, stores, parts, and ammunition)

That of course if for US 1991 type equipment.... more expensive nowdays

/ooc but how do you expect to feed/water your troops? I see no non-combat vehicles there? Not to mention command and control or spy-vehicles. Though if you're army is mostly defensive, you could do without most of that.

ooc:upkeep includes fuel costs (thts under running costs). This is a defnsive army. My navy is the only possible offensive unit at the moment. You know anywhere that sells logistics trucks etc?

This won't help you decide what particular items to cut, but you might be interested in this (http://64.177.207.201/static/budget/annual/fy05/topline.htm). "Operations & Maintenance" is 35.0% of the USA's total defense spending.
