OOC:
Anybody up for a good bash-fest?
Im willing to accept any tech level, sci-fi, modern, fantasy, whatever. Im Fantasci, myself, Futuretech-fantasy. Trolls, goblins, wizards, flying sail ships :)

So, heres the basic rules:
-No number wanking. Forces are limited to (approx) 10,000 men/women/transgeneder organisms per side, no exceptions.
-No tech wanking, if somebody drops a 120mm mortar shell on your guys head, hes dead, regardless of your superdeduper alloy thingy which absorbs all energy and transmits it into the opposing sides face or whatever.
-No nukes, gas is fine though, but remember it can have bad effects on your side as well, Im assuming that nobody is dumb enough to drop a virus that acts within a few hours in a combat zone this size.
-This will be limited to between four and six people, teams of two.
-This is happening in some hypothetical dimension that is exactly the same as the 'real' NS with the exception that the nations are at war.
-No reinforcements/outside airstrikes/whatever, you may bring large ships within the area, but try to limit this a bit, same with planes.

The terrain:
This is debatable, but heres my suggestions:
-Area is about five miles to a side, forces can leave this area, but most of the action will take place here.
-The two 'teams' each have camps set up about ten miles away from the central area, this can be heavily fortified or not, a siegeish thing might be fun.
-The area is a sort of grass field, with a patch of forest and a few rivers, very picturesque until the shells start flying :)

A few questions:
(1) Is this 'real'. Meaning: if I loose a brigade in this battle, do I actually loose it, or is this more of a simulation sort of thing? Edit:: Ah. Nevermind.
(2) How much tech info do you want? I generally take it for granted that my soldiers are bulletproof (although they can get hurt by bullets), that one of my standard infantry weapions can unload a few hundred rounds of semi-magick stuff per minute, and that my primary infantry weapon can cast an array of combat spells.
(3) Are we working with supply lines?

Can I be on your side. If not are you going to use my magic I let you have access to against me.

What I'll be sending.
Eight hundred Floridian Panther Knights

Two hundred Trolls with giant war chickens as mounts

Two thousand basic infantry with blood/sand magic modification

Four thousand Camel Riders
(Shamans on Camels)
One thousand Death Maulers. Just don't mess with them

Two thousand Francian Healers. They basic warrior training they're just better as healers.

Wacha fear my giant kilted blue people. Wacha they're the trolls. Wacha.

Weyr:
1. Yes, you lose no 'real' forces, but the fighting is 'real'

2. Anything you dont think you can explain in the RP itself, links would be nice. And of course any questions (reasonable, at least) that people ask...

3. Nah, this is just one battle, but we can assume enough supplies to last for the duration of the battle.

I think this is good, me and CE are younger than Weyr/WH, so this made sense to me.
2v2 is good though, another four people would kinda mix things up...

Is this acceptable?

@Harmonia Mortus: Sure.
@Warhaven: I know that you're not using cannon BORG tech. So...anything we should know aside from the built-in phasers, beefed up shields, and integrated teleportation? This is strictly OOC, since Weyr hasn't encountered the BORG, per se, and has no idea what to expect.

^What he said.
If your Borg can adapt to any form of weapon after two shots, move instantly from point to point and never run out of ammo, I dont think I want to fight you >_<
But it WOULD be intesting, since magic and technology have some very odd effects, generaly technology doesnt do too well in strong magical fields. A blast of raw magic hitting a Borg would be...intersting.

I take it everbody is ready?

IC:
On a small ridge across the field from the enemy encampment a sight not often seen in modern battlefields was forming up.
A sergeant in full armour, covered in dents and patches, but polished to mirror sheen, was marching up and down in front of the troops.
"A'wright you pond scum, FORM UP! YOU! Third row eighteen left! STAND UP STRAIGHT! Awright! Fix-ha pikes! Shields hup! Prepare to receive the enemy! You are NOT a beutiful and individual snowflake! You are NOT a unique and special person, you ARE men of the Harmonia Mortus military, you WILL die when called upon to do so! DO YOU UNDERSTAND MAGGOTS?"
"SIR, YES SIR!"
"GOOD, now say your prayers and hope your gods exist!"
Fifteen hundred speartips glistened in the sunlight, their magically enhanced armour shone almost as bright as the sergeants, speartips promished death at the end of twenty foot pikes. Behind the four-deep ranks of pikes two rows of five hundred archers oiled bows in preperation for the battle.

More...convetional troops were arranged to the left and right, more spread out and less well armoured. What was not convetional was the occasional troll or goblin.
The trolls were lugging heavy machine guns and rifles, generaly in the .50 caliber range and holding them like pistols, the massive silicates seemed to have grasped the basic principal of firearms, but most carried hammers and maces traditional to their species, quite a few also had belts of heads claimed form various species.
A very few tanks were scattered amoung the ranks, mostly outdated WWII and early coldwar models, but some were modern enough, the reasoning was that a 76.2mm round is just as lethal as a 205mm.

Behind the ranks of the living two thosand brass and steel clockwork warriors stood in perfect formation, assorted mincers, fryers, bashers, impalers, and impliments of death held at perfect 180 degrees from the ground. The sun shone off of the powerstone eyes staring sightlesly at the backs of the archers, the larger stones within their torsos glinting with restrained power, longing to cause some serious pain.

Nearly unseen behind all this were the mages, most of them were in grounps preparing large spells to rain fire, ice, lightning, stones and cows upon the heads of the foes, some had spells to create shields over the army and all were nearly ready to unleash the first round of devastation upon the foemen.

The most impressive sight was reserved for last. Six sailing ships hung in the sky above the army, casting much welcomed shade onto the troops below with their huge sails, whipping in the wind a few banners hung from the ships and the sun glinted off their Thaumic Cannons, ready to rain raw magic onto the foes of Harmonia, some 'normal' cannons stood ready as well, an iron ball kills you just as dead as a modern tank round. The most stunning was the fivehundred foot HMS Negotiator mounting sixteen Thaum Cannons and more than one hundred normal cannons on three decks, impressive, even by modern standards.
All of the ships were surrounded by a telltale glow of thaumic energy shielding, good against most forms of attack to a point, or until the mages aboard were worn out.

Above and behind the Harmonian vessels, the four Weyrean skyships hovered lazily, their mithril-steel and diamond armor shining in the morning light. The three peachpit-shaped cruisers, each two hundred meters long, their open broadside ports displaying scores upon scores of telescoping cannonsc that could rain fire and death in explosive chunks, flanked the WSS Melchior sky-carrier. Ion-magnetic shields flared online, encasing each vessel in a shining chrysalis.

Sir Fear, Sir because there was no distinction betwee Sir and Dame in Weyrik, watched the field of battle from her seat on the bridge of the WSS Melchior. She wanted to just glass the enemy and get on with it, but the Sky Marshall Gerard Storm specifically ordered that she would not open fire before the enemy did.

Below, the Weyrean ranks were forming up. Two companies of Mark VII tanks, a hundred in all, were arrayed in battle order before the Harmonian spears, their long barrels and dual gatlings set and ready, their dull green armor and squat forms providing some protection against the more conventional attacks. Six hundred soldiers in bulky power armor sat astride mechanical mounts, there to defend the tanks against enemy infantry, bearing the new multicaster weapons that could discharge a dozen different combat spells. They were not as impressive as the shining spears of the Harmonians, but they were deadly nonetheless.

Behind the Harmonians, the company of Mark VI hovertanks, and the second brigade of cavalry were kept in reserve for times of need or opportunity.

Magi'i in black walked between the Weyrean ranks, there to provide some protection from thaumaturgic assaults.

OOC:Not really that pretty much has it covered. If you dare to venture deep into my territory however, you will encounter Unimatrix. I taught My ships how to join to gether to form an even bigger ship. Unimatrix is the total combination of every ship ion the BORG collective. If you do encounter my ships, please be warned that I have been given technology from other nations. I have been given QC reactors, Phase sheilds, Gravity weapons, and a few others I don't remember. Although I won't use it in my own territory, I also mastered the Omega Particles, If you watched Voyager and saw the episode The Omega Directive, You know what I am talking about. I have the ability to collapse space for five light years in every direction. I say this because I imagine splitting Omega Particles would do something similar. They also give me these nice drives that let me go double impulse. Your magic should be able to balance My upgraded BORG out. I also have species 8472 under my control.

A BORG Tactical MegaCube was hovering in mid-air. It blocked out a good portion of the sky. It was there because 5,000 regular BORG drones were wandering the area below. The were looking at the planet sizing it up for assimilation into the collective to become a BORG planet. The drones were pretty well contained beneath the cube. They were ignoring anything theat did not concern them. The orders were not to disturb any local population that might live here until the time came to assimilate the planet, if it was chosen. Mental waves cascaded through the air as 5,000 BORG drones from species 8472 looked through the area with their powerful minds.

OOC: You -do- know that electromagnetic weapons are actually more powerful than gravity weapons, are easier to use and make, and can influence even neutral particles simply because the forces that hold those particles together are electromagnetic? Then again, the reason Mt. Everest can rise several kilometers above sea level is because the forces holding it together are stronger than the gravity forces pulling it towards the center of the earth. Anyway, I don't really care, as long as people don't try to give me technobabble about why their grav weaponry is superior to my EM-based weaponry.

General stuff to know: You -can't- beam onto Weyrean vessels unless you demolish their shield generators, which means that you shove enough power at it to rip it off its mountings; and assimilating Weyreans is not going to be easy.

"How's out firing solution?" Fear asked through the small fleet's ambient Net. She wasn't worried. The cube was big, but her fleet was more than a match against it. Fear did not get a verbal response, instead getting a stream of vectors and firing coordinates across her vision specs. "Good," she said after a short moment. "Wings one through four are go."

The WSS Melchior was designed as a carrier, and had virtually no defenses aside from its light guns, armor, and shields. Its primary duty was to carru some four hundred fighter craft, and to disgorge them out of its eight-hundred-meter-long bulk. Now, four dozen fighter craft streaked out of its parasite-bay doors, and took positions around the four vessels. Half of them were unmanned pseudo-intelligence vehicles, designed to protect the Weyrean-controlled craft.

On the ground, the Weyreans watched their opponents, ignoring the big cube in the sky.

An interesting assortment of death was laid out under the BORG cubes.

The dastardly Floridian Panther Knights rode on their huge motorcycles. Raising sword and SMG into the air and twirling it around like a baton.

Huge blue trolls rode on eight hundred pound war birds. They (the trolls) gripped huge iron clubs to do major damage to the many fairy races a.k.a goblins. In the lap of each rested a mini-hand cannon it didn't reload quickly but it was powerful.

The Camel Riders had formed into lines each casting shielding spells on troops around them (they don't hold forever or against everything. A shell will easily kill and a single bullet will break bone any more and there dead). The Riders were ready.

Infantry troops were anxious and sweating but they would gladly die for their people. The sand and blood magic that had been cast on them pumped them and destroyed most of their fear.

The Francian healers prepared their magic and bandages. Each gripped the Desert Eagle and Combat Knife that they were so deadly with.

Every troop muttered quite prayers under their breath to whatever deity they worshipped but the last line of each prayer was the same. "May their blood run well."

OOC: Shall the carnage ensue?

"Alright lads! Let 'em have it!"
The groups of mages cut loose the massive energy buildup, sending a group of fireballs hurtling skyward. They were travling quite fast and reached the top of their arcs fairly quickly before plummeting toward earth again.
Where the fire struck it splashed like napalm, sticking to any solid surface it struck, burning hot enough to melt metal and long enough to matter.
Behind this assault came smaller fireballs launched on flat trajectories by individual mages, similar to their larger cousins, but less massive and only a few had the 'napalmy' sort.
One overeager mage was in trouble though, having put too much energy into the spell it promptly overloaded and blew up...in his head. Two other mages quickly put the fire out and resumed their efforts. Few mages after that had similar indicents, one or two applied a differnt sort of offence, aiming polymorph spells at differnt troops, attempting to turn them into somewhat more harmless beings.
The sergeant was at it again, marching up and down in front of his section of the center line, yelling and harrassing the troops. Behind him a similar man in the Imperial Archers uniform got his troops into firing position, a few screams of 'encouragement' later the first volly of powerstone tipped arrows was loosed. Traveling almost as fast as most bullets the magical arrows screamed toward their targets...
The mages had finished their shield spell, soon a swelling sphere of magical energy had covered the ground around the Weyrian and Harmonia forces, ready to repel most any attack for the present...

The Panther Knights shot towards the bubble. Many lifted their swords and and blue flame streaked out hitting the bubble with full magical force. The rest raised their SMGs and trained them on the mages.

The trolls raise their hand cannons and iron clubs and began to hit the goblins hard and fast.

The Camel Riders dropped back and covered the BORG megacubes with their magic trying to protect them from attacks magical and otherwise.

@Came Eaters: It's one BORG Megacube, and soon it will be a giant cheese cube.

"Aright," Fear nodded. "Melchior, open fire."

Light azure 'caster beams and small artillery burst from turrets on the WSS Melchior's massive hull, lancing towards the enemy on the ground with deadly accuracy. The artillery was of the fragmentation type, made to explode in cones of death some dozen meters above the heads of soldiers. The Melchior did not have heavy weapons, but it had plenty of small stuff to dish out against ground troops.

The three Sakuras unleashed their impressive arsenal of both kinetic and 'caster weaponry against the Megacube, their peachpit-shaped hulls disappearing beneath bursts of azure and of gold.

On the gound, The tanks began to slowly move forward.

The cavalry brigade took the time to organize in the face of the napalm unleashed my the Harmonians, using the hundred tanks as cover. T

The tanks decided to finally do something. At a rate of five shells per minute, a hundred main guns opened up with high-explosive rounds designed to demolish eternastone. A hundred pairs of gatlings lanced their streams of patterned needles at the Camel Eater line.

OOC: Shit I hope Warhaven steps up

Trolls and Warbirds alike were being roasted and fileted. Falling over and being consumed by great firballs.

Half the Camel Riders abandoned the cube to cover the trolls with their magic and to try and take Melchior down. The other half rasied their magic to coutneract the lance things that were streaming at them.

The Healers were rushing onto the battlefield to take care of the trolls. They raised their Desert Eagles and fired on an enemy when they weren't tending to the wounded.

The infantry were moved into positon to attack eventually.

OOC: I won't post aerial damage or attack until Warhaven shows up, because I don't believe anything currently on the ground can go throgh a double hull of meter-thick mithril-steel.

The Mark VII tanks were getting pummeled by the heavy hand-cannon fire of the enemy trolls. The armor of a tank was not easy to pierce. The long gun barrels and gatlings, however, were getting demolished. The same was happening to the Melchior, elbeit in a much more minor way.

The tanks were being turned into great steamrollers left and right. Some stalled, their treads knocked off.

The Weyrean cavalry reformed before the Harmonian pikes, some dozen meters behind the advancing tanks. Heavy gunbarrels flashed in the morning light. The earth shuddred as six hundred metal horses charged across the plain, unleashing a storm of fire and ice and pure thaumaturgic death.

The infantry rolled out huge war instruments. The giant krail bow (think cross bow that shoots disks) was positioned in front of the uncoming calvary. The krail bows fired.

Trolls began to move away from the tanks now that most of the weapons were dismantled. They formed up near the infantry to help repel the calvary attack.

The Death Maulers were awakened. Centuries old demon mages that were ready to call upon the very forces of death.

The magical shield glowed and flashed breifly with every shot from the Camel Eaters healers, but only two or three rounds won through, most of the troops maintained their focus on the CE forces below, trying to support the Weyrian tanks.
About three hundred feet above the battle the HMS ships were preparing a broadside for the cube, slowly each turned its ponderous bulk to face the wall of metal already under heavy assault by the Weyr guns.
Soon over three hundred cannonballs were arcing through the air, some solid, some filled with explosives, and one or two glowed with telltale magical influences. On the ships decks the Thaum cannons sent blasts of randomized magic through the air toward the cube, a few of the troops on the ground felt the effects of these increadibly powerful guns, each having enough power to turn a five foot by five foot cube of steel into strawberry shortcake, or worse.
(OOC:
TC's are sort of like lasers, just more random, Im not sure if standard shields would even block them, since they arent an 'energy' weapon. Magic has its own state and doesnt act like matter or energy.
Other than that, theyre basicaly bulky lasers with some odd side effects, like turning people into things they shouldnt be.)

Behind the Warhaven and Camel Eater lines a small hole opened in the ground, then a green head popped out. It glanced around, uttered a quiet, high pitched curse, then vanished.
A few hundred yards back toward the line it appeared again, cursed, then dissaperated.
The next time it appeared almost inside the enemy lines, this time it grinned, then vanished.
Underneath the CE/WH lines a team of Goblins had dug an interesting tunnel system, it was a cultural marvel, mostly because of the explosives.
A silent signal from the leader set most of the Goblins running, only two stayed behind to light the fuses once the signal came.

IC: It would have been bad if not for the help of the Camel eaters army. only a small portion of the MegaCube was damaged, The BORG Nanites immediatly began to repair that. The Cube rotated faces and pointed a corner at the enemy fleets. all 24 reactors were suddenly overloading as a Giant black disk formed at the corner pointed towards the enemy. The winds picked up and trees, the grass, dirt rocks everything not nailed began to point towards the black disk. even the light itself began wrapping around the disk. As things continued to grow dark, the trees began to rip them selves uup out ofthe ground and fly towards the Big black disk, small animals birds and clouds of dirt rose towards it. Suddenly all the lights on the cube cut off the cube begins to slowly decend due to lack of power. the disk cuts away. Three powerful surges of energy travel down the sides of the cube and and shoot towards the center of the enemy fleets. the three shots come together and a Quantum black hole forms in the center. It stays their for five minutes doing as much damage as it possibly can. A small whit neutralizing beam gets fired from the once again hovering, fully powered Megacube that negats and destroyes the Quantum Black hole, leaving behind massive destruction.
The megacube puts up its regular sheilds.

On the Ground all 10,000 drones use their internal Teleportation nodes and teleport themselves over to the enemy lines after the black hole is destroyed and begin using their internal phasers to fire at the Mages of Harmonia Mortus.

Systems flickered off as every fusactor on the eyrean vessels went offline. Firien cells took up the strain. Hulls groaned in tandem. Some four dozen small turrets were ripped from their mountings. Shields rippled, tugged towards the hole, as the Weryrean skyships fired their magDrives. The forty parasite craft guarding the ships disintegrated.

As the black hole disappeared, the Melchior swung into the wind, and launched its remaining two hundred odd fighters. The Skauras moved closer to the cube, daring it to use another black hole. A hundred antimatter missiles streaked towards the cube in salvos of twenty. More were held within the vessels, all but useless with their missile launchers destroyed. The Skauras's large WMC guns turned to the ground, and unloaded their contents at the BORG within a square meter of their targets.

The Weyrean cavalry hit the Camel Eater line like a storm. Weigjing in at over a tonn each, they continued through the ranks, hoping to come out the other side. Four score (80) were brought down, their chevalines destroyed, or their armor pierced by Death Maulers. The rest plowed on, as the remaining seventy Mark VI tanks hit the Camel Eater lines head on.

On the ground, fifty tanks and six hundred cavalry formed on the Harmonian flanks, away from the BORG. Shields flared to life.

A Mark VI Tank doesn't hover, which is why it can use its seventy tonns to crush things.

My Death Maulers are more like vampiric mages that are thousands of years old. There are also a thousand awakened they probally would of done more damage than that.

The Death Maulers saw the tanks coming and laughed in a demonic tongue that no mortal could understand. They raised their arms and began calling to their patron deity. Bludsuth would come with the amount of carnage that had been wrought. The oldest Death Mauler raised his head and howled into the wind.

He grew ever taller and stronger when he hit twenty-five feet he stopped. Horns sprouted from his skull as his skin came off like a rag. His exposed muscle heated with the fire of a thousand suns the nearest troops to him were evaporated. Fur grew long and rank with death stench. All the teeth were ripped out of his mouth as blades grew in their place. His soul twisted caught by the darkest of the gods. It was wrent in two devoured by the one he had served so well. Bludsuth had arrived.

Naturally, both Goblins died.
However, they took a few with them.
With a good sized preassure wave and a quite loud explosion the ground for two hundred yards around was lifted into the air, turned over and dropped, resulting in a large crater of red-stained dirt, flying rocks, bodies and weapons struck out in all directions.

In the air the Harmonian ships groan along with the Weyrian fleet, straining with all their crystals to move away from the hole, one of the fleets Ships of the Line is overcome, however and vanishes with a comical 'pop'.
On witnissing the death of the ship the mages on the ground immidiatly begin to pool their resources to target the cube, the buildup of power is enough that troops across the whole field see sparks.
About halfway between the two armies main lines cracks appear in the ground, spreading out like a huge spiders web. Soon the cracks run together and merge, then the area falls into the ground. A massive surge of fire blasts out of the hole, incinerating anything nearby and blinding anybody looking in the wrong direction.
A huge roar echoes out of the pit, adding deafness to the list of problems afflicting the enemies. This was followed by a hand, nearly six feet long and followed by an elbow, another hand...
Another roar reached out of the depths driving beings on both sides back, finnaly a head appeared, and a body...a massive Daemon of increadible height, a Pit Lord.
Once the being had extricated itself from the hole it looked at the Death Maulers with blazing eyes filled with insatiable hunger. With one massive beclawed hand it reached toward the largest, an infernal smile creasing its lips and showing its teeth.

Behind the Weyrian cavalry the line of pikemen followed, mopping up any who were left alive, a massive moving wall of sharp pointy bits was slowly crawling up the field, carefully avoiding the Pit Lord and associated gruesom death.

Bludsuth looked at the pitiful creature before him. A Pit Lord a Pit Lord!!! It felt more like an insult than a challenge although he was hungry.

The people who died in the explosion were mostly wounded although a few healers (19) were killed in the blast.

The infantry moved into a crescent formation with the Camel Riders at the back of the middle. They charged the pikemen's right flank.

The Panther Knights hit the bubble several bounced and fell to the ground in a bloody heap. The remaining raised their lances to try and break through. A Camel Rider that hadn't been called over stared for a second and then urged his Camel onwards he raised his hand and called for a Lightning Storm to hit the bubble full force. It struck.

The remaining troll (120) rode out on their warbirds to help engage the pikemen. They raised their hand cannons and waited until they were closer.

OOC: The infantry and Camel Riders are coming from the right the trolls are charging from the front.

OOC: Harmonia, My drones are REALLY close to your mages. They are attacking and have been for a little while now. I am pretty sure that most Mages would not be able to concontrate with 10,000 drones firing at them.

IC: King Warfare watched from the depths of Unimatrix.
"Those fools think that's one cube?" Warfare said with a chuckle. I think I will show them what they are really up against."
A thought shimmered through the collective. MEGA CUBE 369, SPLIT
At that same moment the Mega Cube on the battlefeild began to glow green brightly. The glow encompassed all of the cube. A full minuet later the glow subsided. The Mega Cube was gone, in its place were eight regular Tactical cubes. They flew off in diffrent directions. Four cubes decided to go irritate the Air fleet of Harmonia Mortus. When they got to the fleets, they began to fire theire giant phasers at the fleet. Each cube was able to tackle at least 2-3 ships at once. The other four cubes decided to go bug the Weyrian fleet. They also began firing off their phasers. once again each cube is able to tackle at least 2-3 ships.

Back on the ground, the species 8472 drones stopped firing at the mages. The air began to shimmer as the 5,000 drones from 8472 activated their mental powers, customerely sealed away by the BORG. 100 drones ganged up and threw a powerful anti-magic feild at the mages. the other ones began to use their powers to mind-thrust the mages, thier by weakening their minds and evntually making them leakout their ears when they died.
