(China HP claim)
OOC: constructive criticism is welcome but i don't want an OOC war.
Sitting in the dull glow of the study fireplace King George, like his predecessors before him contemplated on military action. His nation a behemoth in the world had little concern for small territorial gains, Parliament as ever demanded more to fund the great Imperial economy. The populous growing restless from a long period of peace also demanded war, Parliament he could control, but the mob, the mod controlled the nation.
Reluctant and forced to commit his nation to another war which would cost millions of lives King George concluded his internal debate, there would have to be war. But with who?
Rising up from his leather chair he began to stroll around the room in contemplation, the only viable target was China. This nation had once again refuted Opium imports from Afghanistan and the outer colonies, which was a direct refute of the Opium wars cease fire. The Revised Empire had the RIGHT to go to war. “We are not the aggressors” George said to himself, they are. They are forcing me to do this. I have no choice.
China Sea
Fleet Admiral Hayes was sitting upon the bridge of the HMS Hood busily scanning the horizon. The Royal Navy trailing off into the distance had received orders from the Admiralty to take position just outside Chinese territorial waters, the fleet now moving along the invisible border had their Chinese counterparts in a frenzy of activity. The ageing Chinese warships attempted to keep pace and show a small token of force against the Imperial navy however the truth was all too relevant. The Chinese navy was and is in no position to take aggressive military action against a Western foe. Their warships and technology still use primarily inferior components from the former Soviet Union. However it mattered little, the Revised Empire could handle almost any loss of any fleet due to its vast Industrial capability.
Looking out of the reinforced bridge windows Admiral Hayes spied the Chinese fleet coming into view. They were mainly old lumbering warships totally outdated apart from the three of them which were surpassed by most of the Royal Navy six years ago. “Helm order the fleet to head in their general direction I want every single gun turret to be aiming at their flagship. A small token of force.”
“Aye Aye Sir.”
The Empires main detachment of Pacific naval forces now sped towards the general direction of the Chinese fleet who were now paranoid beyond belief at the approaching situation. “Would the British attack? Would they stand a chance? When are the orders from Beijing going to come through? All questions that were on the Chinese Admirals mind.
Aboard the HMS hood a signal from the House of Lords was being transmitted. Each television in the fleet turned to BBC Parliament where a Speech by His Royal Highness was pending.
King George sitting upon the Golden throne of the house, reinforced by a solid Gold wall sat perfectly motionless until all the assembled nobility were silent.
“I have just come from a debate with the Prime minister, our conversation having lasted for over seven hours reinforces my belief at what I am about to order IS the right thing. In our debate I and the Prime Minister both agreed that the continued refusal by the Peoples Republic of China of Opium and other assorted trade imports is not in the interests of the Empire. Therefore, the now assembled war cabinet and civil servants have all agreed that certain military actions will be necessary to secure our interests. I know that another war is not what our nation needs, but if we are to hold true to our ideals and values, then another war is what we must have. Therefore it is my solemn duty to report that a state of war now exists between the British Empire and the Peoples Republic of China.”
http://www.camrecon.demon.co.uk/House of Lords.jpg
An echoing of cheers erupted throughout the house, which was an excellent sign of concordance. The cheers from his Lords and elected civilian officials was a sure sign of national support, after all they would not support him if the mob did not.
Admiral Hayes now intrigued by the turn of political events made his way towards the communications room, there would surely be a orders from the Admiralty imminently. As though it was a premonition to come Admiral Hayes entered the small box like communications room just as the orders were printing off. Reading with some haste the Admirals facial expressions changed form relaxed to very tense. Picking up the direct phone link to the bridge the Admiral was put on the inter comm.
“This is Admiral Hayes, All hands to battle stations, this is not a drill, I repeat this is not a drill.” Crumpling up the recently arrived orders the Admiral threw the piece of paper into the bin, looking at the confused petty officer the Admiral only had one thing to say. “Send a confirmation reply to the Admiralty, we are now engaging the Chinese navy.”
“Yes Sir.”
Entering the bridge once more the order was given to open fire on the unsuspecting Chinese Navy.
“Captain." the Admiral boomed, "I want those ships destroyed, this comes directly from the King, get rid of them.”
“Yes Sir. Tactical, arm forward guns one through six and obtain a lock ASAP. Arm all missile batteries at once.”
“Already done sir.”
“Have the orders been relayed throughout the fleet.”
“Yes Admiral. Shall I give the confirm order to fire?”
“Yes why not.”
The entire area erupted with the gunfire of over two hundred Royal Navy battleships which easily outmatched and outgunned the Chinese fleet. Missiles flew from their tubes while conventional shells rained down upon the enemy. Within the first few minutes of Chinese disorientation the British fleet had sunk nine Jiangwei Frigates and disabled several more. The flood of Harrier MK2’s came over the Horizon from the British carriers waiting at the back of the fleet under the protective guard of the submarines. The ever existing lack of suitable arial defence weapons now crippled the Chinese fleet. The Harriers moving in at extremely long ranges released their payloads driving home victory for the royal Navy.
At 1456 hours GMT the Chinese fleet surrendered to the Admiral Hayes.
OOC: I’m really crap with naval battles but its obvious who would win. The Chinese fleet, using current statistics lacks appropriate surface ships and submarine vessels. Their anti-air defences are heavily outdated as well as their guidance and defence systems on most of their warships. So I’m sorta claiming a quick victory here.
“ALL ABOARD” The train master boomed. Then quickly following there was a harsh screech of the train masters whistle authorising the train to leave. Aboard the train there was an entire contingent of Royal Guard while in the central carriage the King and his advisors were meeting to discuss the current political situation.
Pouring a large glass of Brandy the King took his seat at the top of the room, making clear his rank and political status. Down the elongated table there sat his Justice Minister, the Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, and the Chancellor at the opposite end. On the other side to the political officials sat the military. Admiral Augustus, General Windsor and Air Admiral Keaton.
Falling into the back of his chair in relaxation the King merely looked across the table at his increasingly impatient staff. “Well shall we get this over with?”
“At once majesty”, Admiral Augustus replied. “I have excellent news to report to the cabinet. At 1456GMT yesterday afternoon the Peoples Republic of China’s Navy surrendered to Admiral Hayes. We have taken eighteen ships captive while most captains scuttled their vessels. We have and may I remind the cabinet that these are only preliminary reports, approximately twenty four thousand prisoners have been taken from the waters of the China Sea, and we are currently transporting them to Japan for medical treatment.” The Admiral grinning with his current victory was hoping to score major political points.
“Admiral.” The Chancellor raised his eyes slightly. “How many ships did we lose?”
Admiral Augustus looked up from his papers and reports, this was a question he wanted to avoid. “Sadly we lost twelve vessels, and with them, Eight thousand lives.”
“Eight thousand lives Admiral, EIGHT THOUSAND. How may I ask, did the enemy with older submarines, inferior technology and poorly trained men manage to sink TWO aircraft carriers? You see Admiral I have some disturbing reports. It seems to me that you ordered the protecting submarines to engage enemy forces at the front lines, leaving them open for an underwater attack.”
“I thought it better to employ our entire force.”
“You thought wrong Admiral, I have read your book and in it, if I may quote a passage. “Incompetence in the highest ranks of the military should be punished. It is the duty of a commanding officer to ever have the lives of his men in priority.” It goes on like that Admiral but I’m sure you already know that as it is your book.” The King looked up at the man who had given him many naval victories, however defeat could not be tolerated and incompetence least of all.
“Admiral, we shall discus this later on.” The King said in a quiet voice. “General Windsor.”
“Yes Majesty?”
“The status of our armed forces if you may?”
“Your Highness, I am happy to report to the assembled cabinet that the troop build up has been successful. The current strength of our armed forces in Japan is numbering on Thirty Million. Our forces outnumber the Chinese army by at least Fifteen to One.”
“And the invasion plans?”
“They have all been completed your majesty. Deployment of the army is expected to take over a period of three months so the Navy will be heavily occupied within that period of time. I believe Prime Minister, you have secured an ally for the conflict?”
“Yes General, do not worry about the naval aspect of the war, all is in hand.”
“Well this is good news Gentleman, a toast if I may. To future victories.”
The King leading the toast raised his glass into the air, as did all in the cabinet, before quickly drinking the smooth liquid inside.
“Gentleman, I am confident that we will secure a victory, however what assurances do we have that the people’s republic will not launch an all out nuclear attack?”
“You Majesty.” The foreign minister answered. “We have an agent well placed within the Chinese government. Who has kindly given us the location to all of their nuclear silos and regiments. However there is a catch.”
“A catch?”
“Yes Majesty, we must make our Agent the head of the Chinese Ad-ministerial government once we secure victory. The Prime Minister did confirm this.”
“Indeed I did.” Said the Prime Minister. “All matters of intelligence relating directly to matters of armed conflict are matters for number ten. Not Buckingham Palace.”
“Indeed they are Prime Minister, you are quite right. I agree with you decision, and offer you my full support.”
“However Majesty, I do wish we could hold of the start of the war until the General Election has passed. Labour and the Liberal Democrats are growing in public opinion polls, and your government would work with greater efficiency if there was not a danger of being thrown out in the next three weeks.”
“Prime Minister.” Said the King sympathetically. “No matter how much I want to, you know full well that I can not postpone a General Election. The mob would not stand for it. And the other political parties would have a field day. I am sorry Edmond but there is really nothing that I can do, except vote for you on the day.” A small smile crept across the Kings lips. This was indeed a good man, they both got on excellent and they both shared the same principles and ideals. It would be a sad day for the Empire if he was voted out on his third term.
“Back to the topic at hand Majesty.” Said the Justice Minister. “What about the legal system once we attain victory. Our system does not have enough Judges or Lawyers as it is. The system can’t possibly cope if we turn China to British Law over night. Though I do hope that is the long term intention.”
“I agree.” Added the Prime Minister. “The system can’t possibly cope we must continue to use the current Chinese legal system, while we retrain their current judges and legal counsels.”
“It seems that I to have no option but to agree, China will remain under its present system until their infrastructure has been regenerated. Air Admiral Keaton? When will air strikes commence?”
“Majesty at current the force is suffering from a severe lack of fuel. It will be two days until we can begin heavy bombing, however small air attacks are a possibility at the moment.”
“Why is their a shortage? This was planned months in advance.”
“The recent tensions in Europe Majesty, drove Oil Prices through the roof as many nations began to stockpile and buy every barrel in sight. Unfortunately the demand stripped almost every warehouse in the Middle-East bare of oil, they are only just now getting stocks back up to their full potential.”
“Admiral, fuel shortages do not concern me. Air Strikes will begin tonight, do I make myself clear.”
“Yes Majesty as akways I am your servant.”
“Excellent, does anyone have anything else to add?”
“One minor thing sire. What shall we allow in the news broadcasts?”
“Tell them the truth Prime Minister. The truth. But perhaps you might want to forget about the aircraft carriers being sunk.”
“Of course Majesty.”
The assembled cabinet got up from their seats and left the room leaving the King to sit in quiet contemplation upon his next move. Ringing a small bell that was sitting upon his desk the King summoned a servant. The Royal Guard the emerged through the wooden double doors bowed low to his master.
“I… I want Admiral Augustus to suffer an accident upon this train Matthew. Make it quick.”
Sergeant Matthew bowed his head and left the room. That night Admiral Augustus would die form an accidental weapons discharge from a private’s weapon. The Inquiry would find that there was a minor fault with the safety catch of the weapon. No charges would be pressed.
That night the Royal Air Force would begin military action against the Chinese mainland. Stealth fighters would precede the main squadrons of fighters and target enemy radar and air bases with an intent of removing most of the Chinese coastal defences.
High in the darkened sky British planes were now nearing the Asian Continent. The Eurasian Plate below them would signify the start of danger and conflict
“This is Alpha one, requesting authorisation to open fire upon designated targets over.”
“Alpha One, this is Bomber Command, Operation Black adder is a go. We repeat operation Black Adder is a go.”
“Confirmed Bomber Command beginning Operation now.”
The pilots left the encoded channel and began to line up for their bombing runs. All over the Chinese coats similar planes with similar pilots would be conducting the same exercise.
“This is Alpha 1, I have my target within range, releasing payload.”
This is Alpha 2, I have my target within range, releasing payload.”
This is Alpha 3, I have my target within range, releasing payload.”
This is Alpha 4, I have my target within range, releasing payload.”
Along the entire Chinese coastline Radar networks would suddenly decompose into a mere shadow of their former self. Before the last coastal dishes were destroyed, they would detect a rather large incoming wave of fighters heading towards Beijing.
The Air raid sirens and missile defences put up a gallant fight over the city until the heavy bombers arrived. Releasing their vast Imperial Load Beijing and its closely packed timber housing was reduced into a fire storm.
Further down the Chinese coast many British fighters were engaged in airel combat, a beautiful dance in which the struggle for life and death was carried out. Missiles flew through the sky impacting upon British and Chinese pilots alike, the Chinese air force fighting gallantly now had reduced the British fighters from a force of two hundred to only fifteen, they were winning. Fuel now becoming a primary concern for both sides was now affecting the combat. The Chinese pilots attempting to escape the dual were now becoming more concerned with the battle other than the British chainguns aimed at their planes, however the numbers were on the Chinese side. Slowly but surely the last of the British force was eliminated.
However that was not the last, far from it. They were mere initiates to the air force, this being their first combat mission, would not be much of a match for the seasoned pilots of the Chinese air force however upon the horizon the second and third waves were incoming. The Chinese fighters having exhausted their supply of missiles and now almost out of fuel were taken out from over Five miles away.
The first air battle was a significant victory for the British though the planes lost would provide much embarrassment to those at home.
Nagasaki Docks.
The British fleet had now assembled within most of Japans ports and harbours. Battleships were being crammed with men, as the seized and commandeered transport vessels basically ran out of room. The invasion would take months of relays across the China sea a fact the Admiralty was only too well aware of. After the actual invasion they would still be conducting relays to supply the vast war machine, this was indeed a giant task. Men were boarding each docked ship until it was full to capacity, then without the slightest order the Captain of the vessel would pull away from the port and take position amongst the awaiting fleet.
The Chinese prisoners having disembarked several hours before the air attack were quickly tended to and imprisoned within British Military hospitals. The Seized vessels were now being taken into ports and crewed by British sailors so they could also load up with men and ironically aid in the invasion of China itself.
Admiral Hayes walked down the Nagasaki docklands, sparks flying from the engineers working on the transport vessels just being constructed was a good sign of progress. “Perhaps this war will go smoothly he thought to himself. No, no such thoughts were not to be made” After all the bitter taste of Boer war came to mind. A sad, sad tale in British history where an entire nation was thrown into concentration camps. Of course it was a testament to British ingenuity, and it did end the war, but the human and moral price was too much. Proceeding to the HMS Hood now docked within the harbour Admiral Hayes received many a salute from his subordinates as he passed by. Receiving recognition for the victory against the Chinese navy the Admiral was hoping he would be promoted to take the former Admiral Augustus’s place. News of his death filtered down through the Navy quickly and it was rumoured that the King was going to name his replacement very soon.
Turning a corner, Admiral Hayes saw his flagship in all he glory. The HMS Hood. Men and supplies streamed from the gangways while cranes lifted the heavier tools such as machinery onto the upper decks. Captain Ronald was a competent man. Perhaps if he was promoted he would also promote the captain. It was a thought.
Pushing his way up the gangways the Admiral made his way onto the deck of his flag ship, it was a mess. This was a vessel of his Majesties Navy not a crewman’s quarters, however he had to be patient, after all they were trying their hardest, he would let it slip, this time.
Entering the bridge as he had done so many times before, he received a salute from the captain and all hands. “At ease.” He said. Captain I want a report, how long until we can be underway?”
“The fleet is currently loading up the first round of men and supplies, we can expect to be on our way by tomorrow morning Admiral.”
“Good Work Captain, make sure we are.”
The Next Day the British fleet sailed out of Japan heading towards China.

bump for comments and general info as this took me a damn long time to write.
The British invasion force could be seen from horizon to horizon then from horizon to horizon again. The almost endless lines of transport ships and barges littered the sea with the frequent presence of a super battleship towering above the fleet. Admiral Hayes at the very front of the force watched as the Royal Air Force screamed over head on missions to assist in the destruction of Chinese infrastructure and military depots.
The shoreline heavily defended by infantry had nothing tangible in the sense of fortifications. All that was present were hastily constructed trench lines and a few coils of barbed wire, a small noble effort by the Chinese but futile nonetheless.
The sky darkening as sunlight was blotted out saw the vast array of sea birds lift up from the sea and into the air in fright. Slowly and surely the huge British airships came into view. An endless line of arial mobile battle fortifications with their compliment of anti aircraft guns and weapons, while in the under carriages troops were assembled to make their jump onto the beeches. Higher still above the airships the paratroopers glided through the sky. Their aircraft each toeing several gliders was a sight never seen before in the Asian continent. How could the Chinese even hope to contend with this?
Upon the beeches and shores Chinese tanks could be seen moving into position ready to brace against the incoming tide of British men and armour. Admiral Hayes watching through a small telescope hoped the Chinese would die honourably and well.
“Captain!” The Admiral asked.
“Yes Sir?”
“Order the fleet to open fire upon Chinese positions, level the coastline before the infantry land.”
“At once sir.”
The vast forward guns of the HMS Hood like all the other ships in the armada turned to aim at the coast. Aiming upwards to gain sufficient elevation the gunners loaded the shells into the breeches. After a small silence, Hell was released.
The troops that lined the upper decks of the Hood and other battleships were thrown down onto their backs by the power of the blast. The shells entering the atmosphere would spend a small four seconds in the air before falling back to Earth where there’s and many other existences would end. The explosions upon the coast sent tons of earth and sand flying into the air, covering the landing grounds in a soft fertile soil suitable for the graves of the thousands that were about to die.
“Captain.” The Admiral once again asked rhetorically. “Order the infantry to begin their landings and send a communication back to bomber and fighter command that air assistance will be needed shortly. Have the carriers put on alert.”
“Yes Sir.”
The Ocean now converted into a sea of red began to move towards the shores of the Chinese mainland. Each transport barge holding two thousand men ignited their engines. From the tremors of the exploding shells and firing naval guns a song could be clearly heard in the air. Over five million men began to sing God Save the King, the words echoing around the landscape was a true testament to British zeal and belief in the power of Empire. Each barge had a piper leading the song sending the British army into war once again to the music of the Highlanders.
The first barges landed upon the beech head engulfed by machine gun and small arms fire. Mortars flew overhead, some landing in the barges some not, either way British soldiers were killed. The commonwealth division was next to descend upon the beeches further up the coast. Being closer to Beijing there would be much heavier resistance. (OOC: I’m only going to rp certain sections of the war however progress reports made to the King will detail what exactly is happening)
The remnants of the Chinese air force flew forth from their air strips to confront the Empire however the mobile and air born anti air craft weapons present on the Airships took out most enemy planes and missiles as soon as they came into range.
Paratroopers flew from the skies, with their Union Jack shoots opening would convey a message of superiority to the Chinese. “Your Skies are ours, soon your land will be as well.”
General Wellington was in the very first transport to hit the beeches, though more heavily armoured than the rest there was still an element of danger. Barking orders to his radio operators, he began to alter the initial invasion plans due to slightly different circumstances. Sending the signal for the tanks to be airlifted in, the General could not afford to waste any more time requesting reinforcements.
The redcoats slowly made their way up the beeches, taking refuge in craters or behind any obstacle. Meanwhile landings further up and down the coast went completely unopposed. The invasion force was so large and widespread the Chinese military quite simply could not route enough men to defend their nation.
The fighting on the beeches was not particularly bloody, most Chinese surrendered or fled for their lives when the constant stream of infantry showed no sign of halting. Tanks were quickly brought in to reinforce the landing grounds while the next invasion wave would land deep behind enemy territory in an attempt to break their morale.
British air supremacy was achieved on the second day of conflict primarily due to the vast amount of superior aircraft available. The war if all things continued according to plan would be over within a few weeks once the Chinese surrender had been obtained which was well within grasp.
Several Days later - The war was continuing to a moderate pace. The Chinese army had won several victories against the British redcoats which were still penetrating their nation however there was not much that could be done. Each day over a million men were transported into the nation to reinforce the already swelling army. British armour and infantry had captured almost all of the coastal cities from Hong Kong to Caliam, all flew the Union Jack, and all that was really left to do was route out the remains of the Chinese army now resorting to guerrilla attacks from the dense country side.
After the fall of Beijing on day four of the invasion the Chinese government had taken refuge in the remote Tibetan city of Lamsa, which due to its location would take many weeks for the bulk of the army to reach them. However there was a plot in play to attempt to end the war very quickly.
Number 10 Downing Street – The Prime Minister having suffered a gruelling session of question time now made his way to MI6 head quarters where he would meet the head of all foreign intelligence Russell Crowband, codenamed M. Walking along the clinical corridors the PM was in no mood for his kind of games or mysteries. Now nearing his office the PM was led through the two double doors by a secretary.
Russel Crowband got of his feet and met the PM with a firm handshake. “Good to meet you again Mr Prime Minister.”
“Russell I am in no mood for these games I have an election to win, and by th look of things this war will throw me out of No 10.”
“What would you do Mr Prime Minister if I could end the war tomorrow.”
“I would have you thrown in cell as you’d obviously have lost your mind.”
“Yes most people would do that, but I haven’t. You see Minister we have already begun the plan without your authorisation.”
“You have what!”
“Minister calm down please let me finish. Our operative in the Chinese government is their agricultural minister. We have a plan which we know will work due to the fact their military has been broken and no longer wants this war. We are going to kill their cabinet, of course the agricultural minister will survive, however once the rest are dead he will be in power and effectively surrender. But his one price is that he remains the British governor of the nation once they surrender.”
“And when is this assassination about to take place?”
“Why it’s taking place right now Prime minister.”
Lamsa – Chinese Cabinet meeting.
Mei Pi Chong headed away from the meeting room under the pre-text of being ill. Clutching his belly with both hands he needed the help of two guards to carry him away from the room. Once out of eye shot with his colleagues Pi Chong lifted up a small detonator. His guards watching him and insuring no one intervened forced him to press the red button. An explosive burst rippled throughout the former Buddhist temple killing all of the Chinese government. Instantly the remains of the plans were put into motion. Pi Chong requested that the British agent hiding in the small town below the temple be brought to him so they may discuss the already accepted terms of the agreement while all over China orders recently dispatched from Lamsa were broadcasted for the army to surrender.
After only a week victory in China had been given.

OOC: I’m really sorry for ending the thread short but I had no choice. This was taking up far too much of my time forcing my other rp’s to be neglected. Lets face it I would have won in the end and the rping in this thread was and is much better than some of the other claims seen about the forums. These posts make up 14 pages of Microsoft Word, so yeah it did take me a long time to write. Apologies to all those disappointed in the ending of the thread but my time is limited with University and all that. I will try to add more to the thread if I get time but it doesn’t look that way. The way I see it better a crap ending than no ending at all.

OOC: Perhaps, however i would like to ensure that i have an ally on my border instead of a foe. I will have to look into your political position on Imperialism and the prospects of an allaince and such.
But I would really not have to write up so much again for RL claim thread lol.
IC: The Empire at current has no militaristic plans for the nation of Mongolia. Our current political pposition to the nation is neutral.

(OOC: I am seriously tempted to severely challenging your easy win over China. In reality, even for a February 2003 nation, China would have been a severe challenge to conquer and defeat. Even if you defeated the People's Liberation Army, you would still face considerable peasant opposition and guerrilla warfare that would severely hamper your occupation. Chinese people severely distrust and hate foreign conquerors. That is one reason why the Americans were able to take on the Japanese so "easily" during World War II, because of the fact that the Chinese were tying up over one million Japanese soldiers all over China.
In addition, what other RPs are you doing!?! You only have 74 posts... You're lame excuse for ending what would have been a protracted war is simply not good enough.
Your RP skills in general, however, are fairly good. If you really take into account a fight against a strong opposition, you will be more accepted.)
IC:
The Five Civilized Nations DOES NOT and WILL NEVER recognize Bob-Bob's claim to China.
(OOC: But then again, I've quit modern-tech RPs in disgust...)
THIS CLAIM HAS NOW BEEN VALIDATED THIS THREAD IS NOW CLOSED
Perhaps you refute the claim as you yourself wish to claim China. As you have in the past clearly expressed a desire to take the nation. I had to end the thread early due to pressing engagements in University and other areas of my real life. But perhaps you fail to realise that bob-bob may be a puppet nation, which it is. My other nations are far more active throughout the nationstates forums.
You comments have been noted but only seen as a rant at how you yourself could not have been bothered to rp the thread.
IC: King George looks upon the refute to the Empires claim to China by Five Civilised nations with some disappointment, however a nation as advanced as Five Civilised Nations has no place in the modern tech world so it is of little concern.
