"Today at aproximately 9:30 p.m. TST a suspicious vehicle pulled up to the border of Talonor from The Empire of Shayol. Reports state that the persons in the car were asked to exit their vehicle. At this time, the car accelerated ramming itself into a nearby guard station. At impact the vehicle blew up and killed all 15 of the guards in the station. No one has yet claimed responsibility for this act, and it is still under investigation. This is just yet another setback in the relations between Talonor and Shayol. As many of you know, tensions have been high between the our nation and Shayol since the empire's ban on slavery, which is legal in Talonor."

The Lord High Commander sits at his desk thinking over what he just watched on the television. He had always that the problems in Talonor would one day have to be dealt with. However, he did not think it would be in his time. No, not now he thought to himself. A knock at the door came suddenly. "You may enter." Miguel said.
"Sir, I do not know if you know but-" A heavy set man wearing a military uniform said nervously as he entered.
"The plan did not go as expected eh? Urgo?" Miguel responded.
"Not exactly my Lord. You see apprently the driver spooked and the bomb went off prematurely. And well they managed to kill a few border guards, but now the wretched Talonorians are on the alert."
"Well General, it seems our plans will have to become a little more hurried now. Gather the senate then, tell them all to be there in the morning. I feel as if i will have some explaining to do."
"Yes my lord."
"Also, General Urgo make sure your men are ready to be deployed as soon as possible."
"As you command my Lord." With a salute Urgo was out the door as quickly as he had come in.

Lord High Commander Miguel Elo and Legion Commander General Brion Urgo had been friends since childhood. Elo's was a path of politics, while Urgo chose the military. Now it seems as if both are going to have to work if the empire is going to benefit.

I am curious to see what excuse Elo will have for todays attack. Our identification of the Shayolians driving the vehicle as identified them as members of the military. We urge the senate to do something about your unfit ruler. If not, I am afraid that I will have to do it for you.

::Emergency Senate meeting in Shayol::

A group of men all gathered around talking and arguing amongst themselves.
"ORDER!" A loud yell from a man standing at a podium with gray hair and a matching beard. He is the oldest of all of the senators in Shayol. He was known to all as Ander Scot.
"So it seems that our Lord High Commander means to put our Empire to war. With this recent act against the people of Talonor. I for one feel that this is something that should of been done years ago." Shouts of "No" and "yes" were scattered throughout the crowd.

"We have not had any quarrells with Talonor since before you were born Senator Scot. What business is it of ours to do so now?" A man from Scot's right protested. Resulting again in an uproar from the other senators.
"You do have a point, but we cannot and will not let a tyrant like Civitarese boss us around." Scot replied.
Men started yelling from every direction. "So what then shall we do?"
"Are we to go to war with Talonor?"
Ander Scot raised his hand and with it the crowd silenced. "We will do as we have always done with issues like this, put it to the vote. However, let me once again remind you that for the sake of the Empire of Shayol, we must not back down to the threats from Civitarese." With that added he dropped his hand slowly back down to the podium. "Let us begin...."
