Today, Emperor Terumoto stepped down, after turning 66 years old. This comes as a shock to most of Japanese Antarctica's citizens, as Terumoto was beloved by young and old alike.

Terumoto, who stepped down due to health problems, is handing over power because he does not want to "hinder the progress" of the already successful nation. Terumoto will be remembered for winning both Soviet Expanse Wars against the CAD, helping the economy get back on its feet after the wars and his charming character.

Shiganori-Sama's replacement is replaced by the winner of the 3rd national elections- a rare event in Japanese Antarctica. Winning with 93% of the vote is 35 year old Okura Ryusaki, previously a admiral in the Imperial Navy. Although most support Ryusaki, a member of Terumoto's Zaibatsu party, his critics believe that he is too harsh and far to the right when it comes to foreign policy. Not much else is known about the man who will succeed Shiganori-Sama. However, when asked who he voted for after the election, Terumoto replied, "No one can do a better job than Ryusaki-san."

Official Imperial Statement-

We hope that with this new ruler, a better understanding bettween our two respective peoples can be reached. We would also like to correct your media in their statements. We, in fact, won the first war. The second was a mere stalemate, due to the treachery of Vladimir.

From: Nikolaos the Great

I hope you get well my friend. It was great fighting alongside you against CAD in the Soviet Expanse Wars. If you ever need a resting place you are always welcomed in Greece, and you are a very respected figure in the Assembly. Our excellent hospitals can treat you too.

OOC: Technically, from our perspective, we beat you guys in the first war. Vladimir was the loser in the first war. However, we beat you in the second war pretty handily.

OOC: Depends on your perspective, I guess. The second war was militarily a draw, as our objective was to defend Vladimir at the start, then he betrayed us, so technically that objective became invalid, so it really does depend on your point of view. Kinda like Vietnam.

OOC: I guess you're right. But from my nation's point of view, your goal was to protect your colony there, not Vladimir. And since that failed, we declared a victory.

btw, Bleland might make a comeback, he's been busy with school, so he hasn't had time to due his issues, hence, his deletion. Ditto Halberdanger.

OOC: yeah, bleland is busy with college. i agree, from our point of view, we won because our objective was to drive you out of Vladimir (declaring war on Vladimir was only a trick to get you guys to fight us).

"You mean -counter-san. We of Letila are glad your leader is gone, but unhappy that you have a new one," one Letilan representative says.

"What are you doing! This is Japanese Antartica. If you have to bash a country, try French Antartica," another Letilan says.
