Yes, I know what you're thinking...another alliance. Goodness! Aren't there already enough out there now? Well...this alliance is different from the rest (You're probably thinking..."Yea, right loser"). This alliance is dedicated to the promotion of medical advances in our society.

Short-Term Goals
- to eradicate specific viruses from existance, such as polio (yes, its gone in the RL, but probably not in NS), and other viruses that have declined in recent times.
- work to cause a decline in every single virus and people who become infected by it within the next 5-10 years.
- to decrease malnutrition in 3rd world nations, as well as 1st world nations.
- to find easier ways to treat incurable diseases such as diabetes, hypoglycemia, AIDS (HIV), and sexually transmitted diseases.
(More to come)
- the increase of the creation of vaccines.
- the decrease of the cost of perscription medicines.
- creation of humanitarian aid posts in 3rd world nations to distribute food/clothing/other needs.


Long-Term Goals
- through research, to find cures for specific viruses and sicknesses that claim the lives of millions of people.

This alliance will have absolutely nothing to do with political affairs, declaring war, military alliances, etc. so don't expect military support from this alliance if you get into a war you can't handle. Those things can be dealt with outside of this alliance.

I guess you could say this is more of a Humanitarian Alliance, of some sort, but we will focus upon medicine more than everything else.

EDIT: I will be having a Conference of the United Medical Alliance when an appropriate amount of members have signed up for the Alliance.

As the creators of the Pasteur-class hospital ships and the new Curie-class light medical vessels, Sarzonia is interested in this alliance.

The Grand Duchy of Hamptonshire, which has over the past half century devoted over $1 trillion to Humanitarian and Medical efforts in Africa and 3rd world nations, wishes to join the United Medical Alliance. It has been our consistent position that only through humanitarian efforts can peace truly be achieved. We are willing to open our medical research facilities to further the goals of this worthwhile organization.

But is it their childrens faults that their parents have HIV/AIDS? They didn't do anything to deserve it. They have to grow up without a parent/parents and they did nothing wrong.

That is not the only way to contract HIV. As Euroslavia said, children can inherit it, and it can be caught through needles, blood transfusion, that sort of thing.

For now, I only wish to gain more members for the alliance. There really isn't anything any of you can do right now, until we get a sufficient amount of members, after which, we will have a conference on the goals of the United Medical Alliance. So basically, you just have to be patient until then.

I propose setting up a mititary wing of the United Medical Alliance in the intrest of protecting the medical staff that we may send into war zones ect. It would only be for self defense of the medical staff and not for offensive perposes. What do u all think??

No more than 10,000 men (that air, navy and army). I would happly put forward a 2,000 strong special forces unit i have with 20 helos and naval support craft.

As I mentioned earlier, military will have absolutely nothing to do with this alliance. Military will depend on where we send our Aid, and will be up to nations sending that aid, if they would like to send their own military to protect it, however, there will be no United Medical Alliance Military Wing.

We are more than willing to provide an Armoured Medical Unit which would be made up of several hundred Hummers with customised armaments and Medical Specialist Soldiers controlling them. However, the final decision is up to the alliance as a whole.

As of now, the policies are up to me. When the Conference occurs, we will debate over it.

We have token armaments aboard our own Pasteur-class and Curie-class vessels; however, the Portland Iron Works and its predecessor, the Wilmington Shipyard Corporation have built a design of the Pasteur-class that includes twin bow-mounted 15 inch guns and mounts for defensive machine guns. That design was built with an additional of two inches of an advanced steel composite armour, making its total armour protection 5.5 inches, enough to withstand a Harpoon or an Exocet missile attack.

We make it clear that these ships are still not intended to serve as warships, but they have a defensive capability that has served as a deterrant for would-be pirates or terrorists. We would be willing to provide these modified Pasteurs to this alliance.
