"Citizens of Lasatania, nations of the world... I stand before you know to give an overview of the progress the state has made in the five years since the abolition of the People's Revolutionary Party and the founding of the new state.
Since its formation five years ago, the New State has been subject to a period of great isolation. A situation further compounded by my decision to withdraw our nation from the international stage, in order to heal the wounds of the struggle to rid our nation of political self interest. As well as this we have managed to level off the vast differences in wealth between the citizens of our country. Access to education has also been standardised and through the state testing system, we are better placed to equip our citizens with an education best suited to their vocation.
However, despite these improvements, we still find individual citizens resisting the best efforts of the state. Over the course of the past five years, over 5 million citizens have been subject to re-education and there are still approximately 2 million citizens considered to be subversive. To this end, all citizens considered subversive shall be subject to measures previously applied to foreign spies. They shall be stripped of their citizenship and transported to detention centres far removed from the population centres of our great nation, where they will be subjected to intensive re-education. Failure to accept such re-education shall result in exile at the very least.
However, I digress, the main purpose of this address is to celebrate the strength of our nation. Having seen our industrial base re-establish itself, I can take great pleasure in announcing that the State Administrative Board has approved a 10% increase in the standard allocation of resources to each and every citizen. This increase will take effect immediately and citizens can choose to use this allocation in any manner they wish. In addition to this increase, the Board has also decided that the armed forces of our nation shall be doubled in size over the next three years. To this end, compulsory conscription shall take place until such a time that the armed forces can be filled with volunteers. Any citizen wishing to volunteer for service should do so at their local vocational centre.
And finally, to the future. Over the course of the past five years we have moved away from a society that tolerates the abuse of many by a few. Now, we live in a state where each individual gives their best effort in order to improve the situation of those around them. We no longer judge one another's lives in terms of how much wealth they have accumulated. No, instead we judge our wealth by the state of our nation. And Lasatania is growing faster than ever before. Our industries have increased production by over 20% in the course of the past five years. Our population has reached into the seven hundred millions. Our schools now educate to a stanard far higher than before. And this is how we wish it to remain.
To this end I urge each and every citizen of our great nation to comply with the will of the nation. To put aside their personal grievance and think of what we can achieve together. Already in the space of five years we have moved further forward than when the Party ruled. By abolishing the mechanism of power we have annulled the desire for position and instead nutured a society where helping each other is a common goal. And as this is the will of the mass we must consider it to be the law, therefore we must be aware of any looking to turn from this path and take whatever steps are need to correct the error of their ways. In doing so, we keep our nation firmly on the right path, towards greater strength. Towards a better future for its citizens..."
