President Wesley! I am proud to report that we've taken 73% of Sinear, which is now under your control. With the help of the Farminians during the ceasefire, we've managed to rebuild most of your larger cities.
***
The Bahbian delegate put forth the paper, with the peace plan called "LUAAWLYA." If you didn't know what it meant, you probably would have thought it was a foreign language. It was an acronym for "Leave Us Alone And We'll Leave You Alone."
Basically, it was a pact for all nations to ignore one another. No military presence in or near anyone's nation, no rebuilding, etc. If you wanted to, you could negotiate with someone one on one, but not with the rest of the involved countries.
The three Bahbians signed.

Dulane signed the document.
"It seems that, after all, the delegates from Bahbland are the only ones who are still acting reasonable."
OOC: Welcome back Sinear. You can role play Kalantar if you wish, since he betrayed the Farminans and plans to attack the Bahbians. And when did Bahbland take 73% of the country, balderdash.
IC: Kalantar was infuriated by Wesley’s refusal to die. So he sent a general message, one everyman in Sinear was bound to hear, especially Wesley. He made sure it mentioned the arrested Farminans, the Bahbian plans to slice up Sinear like a piece of cheese and use it for profit. Kalantar was losing count of his enemies, so he needed them at each others throat.
The Farminan delegates meanwhile turned their nose up at the treaty for these reasons:
-No clauses protecting Farmina from Nowhere Placan tryanny
-Leadership/division of Sinear not decided
-No protection for Grey Catholics in Nowhere Place
-Doesn’t deal with prisoners of war (especially Kalantar’s)
-Doesn’t deal with costs of conflict
-Doesn’t punish Nowhere Place for its aggression
-Doesn’t deal with the Thurg issue
-I’ll complain more later
The Sinearan delegate was happy with the treaty, if it implied Kalantar ruled Sinear, not Farmina, not Bahbland and not Wesley.
OOC: I think Bahbland underestimates the damage to Sinear. The place is in ruins, millions, tens of millions displaced. It has seen three rounds of fighting.

Dumpsterdanian Missile Command, Duniash City.
Alfarius paced up and down infront of the viewing screen as he looked at the Bahbland missile satelite's attempting to enter space above Dumspterdam.
The DMC controller aproached him. "What do you want us to do Councillor?" Alfarius nodded to himself. "Prepare for a pre-emptive nuclear strike on Bahbland, they have no right to threaten us with weapons of mass destruction so we will return the favor." The DMC operator sighed. "Should I contact our allies before this?"
"Yes, contact the RWC about this and tell the Credonian and Endenian missile commads to stand by for intercepting of those tungsten rods." The Councillor made his way towards the exit as he left the DMC crew to do the work of redirecting missile's.
DRN Seven Provinces
"Sir, we have a message from the NP fleet. They apreciate our help and would like to see our S&R helicopters on the site ASAP. Furthermore they are requesting to transfer a luitenant to our fleet, he's interested in meeting the commander in chief." The comms officer presented Quarren with the message from the NP fleet. "Very good, send out our 1st S&R squadron and send a squad of naval stormtroopers in a Lynx helicopter to pick up that luitenant."
On the deck of the DRN Seven Provinces, DRN Revenge and the DRN Remas, SeaKing helicopters where preparing to take off towards the NP fleet. Twenty helicopters would be ferrying men back and forth to the hospital ships of the fleet. A single Lynx helicopter made its way to the biggest vessle afloat in the NP fleet. NP vessle, this is a Lynx Helo from the DRN Seven Provinces, we are here to pick up a package for Admiral Quarren. Inside ten naval stormtroopers would be providing escort for the package.

OoC: There would be no noticeable effect from redirecting the missile's so you woudn't know unless you've got a high level informant or have actualy hacked into TACCOM which is a closed system. Furthermore, the only thing thats gona happen is that I'll nuke you back into the stone age if you use those rods on either my fleet or my nation. Remember that Dumpsterdam has one of the most advanced ABM systems in the world and has more then enough means to nock satelite's out of orbit. That, and we fall under both our own and that of the Credonian and Endenian ABM systems making for a 99.99% change of intercepting. ;)
IC:
I am very interested in which missile's you mean, Dumpsterdam does not warrant a first strike policy but we are currently planning removal of your missile satelite's. I suggest that if you want them intact you will remove the satelite's from the space above Dumpsterdam, seeing as you prize...peace so much while you threaten to wipe out our entire population.

Dulane was disgusted, but for moment, he regained his clarity.
"Ha! Our tyranny? Our tyranny? You should think before you wildly swing around accusations! Who was it that supported Kalantar and his blatant abuse of human rights? Who was it that decided to commit terrorists to bombing a nation that had not harmed it? Us? I dare say, no! You, sirs, are the reason we're here! You are the reason we have not attained peace! Provisions protecting you from us... Bah! You are the ones the world needs protecting from!
Nor do you have the backing to punish anyone for their 'aggression'. What we did was in retaliation to your own terrorist attacks. You have no moral grounds for declaring our move 'aggressive'. Not when your terrorists were blowing up innocent women and children in the streets of our capitol, before we ever stepped foot on your soil!
Furthermore, who was it that called for peace talks? Not us. You were the ones who asked for a peace negotiation in the first place, and now you think you can get a 'peace' that benefits you. Well, you and what army will uphold those rules? You and what army will oppress our people from their freedoms? You have no moral high-grounds to place yourself on!
Your Grey Catholics would have been protected if they had simply behaved! Instead, you told them to commit acts of aggression against Nowhere Place. Needless to say, that pissed our people off! We can't hope to keep them safe from our populace! And then, there is the simple fact that, at any time your leader so chooses, he can ask all of those Grey Catholics to blow themselves up again! What protects us from you? Eh?"
Dulane paused and looked around the room for a moment. The other delegates remained silent.
"Now, on to other matters...
Sinear can settle its own disputes. That is the only fair and balanced way. You, Farmina, know that Bahbland and Nowhere Place will both back General Wesley. You, on the other hand, will back Kalantar. Like you've always done. Nothing will ever get done that way, so let's just drop it. If you want to secure Sinear for one man or another, send your own troops and do the deed yourself. I highly doubt that conflict will ever end...
The costs of conflict should be payed for by their own respective nations. Farmina, you brought this upon yourself. Demanding that we pay for your mistakes is disgusting.
Mr. Thurg will remain in asylum in Nowhere Place for on year. Then we will give him a plane ticket and ship him off to wherever he wishes to go. If you want to him, you can go get him after we fly him off.
We may have been generous to you in the past, but you missed your chance the first time."
Dulane paused again. By this time, he was totally cool and calm.
"Farmina, you can't possibly accept the other nations at these negotiations to sign a treaty where we get no guarantees from you. Therefore, I've written down some notes as to what you should give us ('us' being Bahbland and Nowhere Place). I will even right this in an 'official' form as I tell you. If either of the other nations have any objections to provisions in this treaty, say so.
First, all nations involved will agree to leave each other alone, as in accordance with Bahbland's 'LUAAWLYA' plan. They will not interfere with each other's military actions (unless they are in violation of the treaty or attack a nation allied to one of the other involved nations), political decisions, and social actions.
Second, Farmina will agree to never again train, fund, equip, or even provide spiritual backing to terrorists and their organization. In this way, the other nations of the world will be safer from you.
Thrid, Nowhere Place and Bahbland will agree to pay a total of 1/3 of your troop deployment costs.
Fourth, Farmina, in turn, will pay for 1/2 of the damages done to Nowhere Place federal buildings (the Legislature Building, police stations) because of their terrorists, and 1/3 of the total cost of troop deployment for Bahbland's Sinear and Farmina campaigns.
Fifth, no nation will put fault or blame upon another nation publicly for this war.
Sixth, Grey Catholics within Nowhere Place and its territories will be protected so long as they commit no mass-acts of aggression against the rest of Nowhere Place. All Grey Catholics that wish to leave for elsewhere will be allowed to do so, at any time.
Seventh, Former Arch-Bishop Thurg of the Grey Catholic Church will hold asylum in Nowhere Place for one year. Then he will be expelled from the country and sent to wherever his heart desires on Earth.
Eighth, all soldiers on Farminian soil will be allowed to return to their home nation safely.
Ninth, this treaty goes into effect the moment it is signed by one delegate from all three nations at these negotiations. "
Dulane scanned the room yet again.
"Fair? Unfair? Changes that need to be made?"
Dulane smiled.
"Or should we simply go along with Bahbland's proposal and save all of ourselves a lot of heartache?"

The Lynx received clearance.
"You are clear to land. Lt. Steinburg is waiting for you at the heli pad on the aft of the ship."
Lt. Steinburg, meanwhile, looked up at the helicoptor and thought things through.

The Lynx suddenly turned towards the aft of the ship as on both side's the doors where opend, revealing men in black and blue bodyarmour with atleast two mounted m60's. The Lynx touched down for under five seconds in which time the Luitenant was hauled aboard and the helo took off again.
The doors where closed again and the luitenant found himself surrounded by nine royal navy stormtroopers who's sergeant aproached him. "Sir, I am sergeant Elane Marcus and I will be your escort to the DRN Seven Provinces, I trust that you are unarmed and therefor I will not order my men to search you." She removed her helmet and took a hand through her short black hair. "Sit down and enjoy the ride."

She turned to him one last time before they entered the room. "Its been a pleasure working with you sir, try not to do anything stupid." She said and gently pushed him into the conference room where a single long table was with several chairs. LCD displays covered the walls and a banner of the Royal Dumpsterdanian Navy hung near the back as a middle-aged man approached Steinberg.
"I am Grand Admiral Quarren, please take a seat so we can start this meeting." He himself sat down at the head of the table and waited for Steinberg to sit down at the only empty seat. "Welcome lieutenant Steinberg, I hope you haven't had any trouble with our Stormtrooper units. First off, to your left is Commandeur Angelica Raditz, head of the Royal Dumpsterdanian Navy Escort Group. To your right is Sergeant Elane Marcus, head of the Royal Stormtrooper core of the 4th fleet. Sitting to my left is Captain Diaz of the Royal Dumpsterdanian Airforce and to my right is my lovely secretary and typist; Andrea Lash." He paused and looked at the lieutenant. "Am I rambling again? Guess I am..." He sipped a cup of tea. "Anyway, I think you have something to tell us."

"Thank you for having me, Admiral Quarren. I'm sure that your Intel agents have already dragged up my military career; it isn't exactly a secret. However, Admiral, please allow me to introduce myself more thoroughly."
Steinburg stood from his chair and saluted the others at the table.
"I'm Lieutenant Junior Grade Carl Steinburg, of the Nowhere Place Naval Mobile Assualt Division (NMAD), and Special Agent of the Nowhere Place Foreign Inteligence Agency (FIA)."
Steinburg stood at attention, and swept his gaze over the others to make sure he had their attention and was not stepping out of line.
"As you may know, sir, the political situation in Nowhere Place is decaying behind the scenes. Many politicians are strongly opposed to Clark and his administration, and wish to depose of them as soon as possible.
The Clark Administration is currently stressing on the fact that we declared war on Farmina because they have been doing evil deeds, and that we are, per se, the 'Champions of Justice' in our noble cause. While this pretext may reflect the ideals of most of the populace (68% said we were doing the right thing in Farmina in recent polls), this 'facade' is rather thin when it comes to much of the international community. His actions in Octopolis and the retreat of our troops from Sinear have earned him great love among the populace.
This is where my message comes in. My direct superior is one who wishes to dispose of the Clark Administration. With Dumpsterdam's help, he and his friends might be able to do just that."
Steinburg held up the portfolio.
"Contained within this portfolio are the identities, whereabouts, callsigns, escape routes, etc. of 7 Nowhere Place agents within Farmina. Each of them have orders to stay in Farmina even after the treaty is signed and collect many 'observations' on Farminian military activity after the treaty is signed. However, none of them know that the President did not authorize any of this. In effect, if they were to be caught a week or two after the treaty was signed, it would make Clark look very, very bad. So bad, in fact, that the international political pressure will probably force him out of office. That is exactly what my superior is aiming for.
However, to bring this information directly to Farmina would be too risky for him. It would be too easy from Clark to blow it away as another piece of Farminian trickery.
Therefore, we bring this informatin to you, their ally, who is trusted more by both sides than Farmina. Your actions, Admiral Quarren, during this conflict, have proved that Dumpsterdam is indeed deserving of its honorable reputation. If we give you the information, and you apprehend them and their acquired data with the help of Farminian authorities, then that may just be the final stone in throwing Clark out of office. In which case, my superior will become president and make things very favorable for Dumpsterdam in Nowhere Place... At the back of the portfolio is a packet which details what my superior is willing to do for you, if you do for him. Clark has already shown himself to be rather militant. Sending 7 agents to spy on Farmina even after pledging to leave them alone would fit his behavioral pattern... It's a relatively easy act for Dumpsterdam, and one that will get you (in the words of my superior) 'handsomely paid'."
(The propositions detailed in this last packet are:
- 30% ownership of the entire Nowhere Place Arms Manufacturing industry
- To have its Arms Manufacturing industry sell Dumpsterdam anything rolled out at 32% lower prices
- Exclusive use of Nowhere Place military facilities and intelligence information at any time)
Steinburg took a deep breath.
"The second thing that I am here to ask you about, as a Lieutenant in the NMAD, are my men. My captain and I want eye-witness proof that our men are receiving correct medical attention and not being beglected in prisons. I, personally, trust that you are treating they're being treated fairly, but my captain is not so easily convinced. He told me that I am to see them for myself, and report back to him... if possible."
Steinburg smiled.
"As I said, he is not so easily convinced."
“None of this would have happened if Nowhere Place hadn’t invaded Sinear,” said the Farminan General, trying to remain calm with the insolent Nowhere Placan.
“I suppose Kalantar’s betrayal and Wesley’s re-emergence makes Farmina’s role in Sinear pointless, not that Farmina has anyone left in Sinear,” sighed Lesser Chancellor Vernis.
“But we will not pay the mercenaries, not even a third of their bill,” said General Sprit.
“I remember us discussing far more favorable terms before,” said Cardinal Feist, “I remember offers involving Farmina receiving large sums to put its nation back together, and a share in the Nowhere Placan weapon industry. Bahbland also talked about handing over the plans for THOR and half price weapons.”
The General scratched his chin, “Farmina can’t afford to pay for the huge Bahbian deployment in Sinear, not even 1/3. Farmina needs money and this takes it away. However we will sign the treaty if it improves with this regard as long as Sinear doesn’t sign. The High Priest has declared that Kalantar’s head shall be severed from his body by Farminan holy warriors.”

Dulane stared hard at the General. His controlled madness had worked. The Farminians had let their guard down. Now their side was dictating terms... However, Dulane knew his limits. Anything more than a balanced treaty would be spit on.
"Interesting. The dog turns on its master. It's too bad you let him have teeth. I guess those are the perils of having a puppet-dictator.
The reparations will be lowered to 27%... but only if Bahbland approves.
And Nowhere Place, as an act of kindness, will help you in Sinear to decrease the cost of your own deployment. We still have a score to settle with Kalantar, ourselves."
Dulane then turned his attention to Cardinal Feist.
"Of course the conditions were more favorable for you before. That's called 'sweetening'. Sugar-coat the deal while building your base. You did the same thing yourself, Cardinal. You called for negotiations, then brought in Dumpsterdam to get the better deal for yourselves. It's a common diplomatic practice. If the deal seems too good for your side to be true, only take it at face-value... At least, that's what I learned."

"You can give the portfolio to the Admiral and he will contact the Emperor about sending in a Special Forces division. But you wanted to see your men, so please follow me to the sick-bay." She escorted him out of the room, her squad still waiting outside the door. "Come on lads, let’s go." As she grinned and pushed the heavy weapon officer out in front of her, Steinberg was probably raising a few eye-brows at this action but she couldn’t see him from her position.
As they entered the packed sick-bay Elane showed Steinberg around, the forty beds where all filled. Thirty-three NP soldiers and sailors where here and around seven Dumpsterdanian sailors and airmen. "Your men are getting excelent medical treatment and our men that you can see here where wounded in the Rotovian bomber attack." It was a doctor who spoke to Steinberg. "The admiral told us you where coming and I'm sorry to say that several of your men have died either on the way over here, or on the operating table." He handed the luitenant a list with casualties and accompanying dog-tags, a few blood red stains visible on his white coat. “However, those that have been saved are either here or on the DRN Angel the main hospital ship of the fleet. We also have several people who where not hurt and which can be taken back to your fleet should you wish to do so."
OoC; As for the information on the spies, don’t worry I’ll take care of that with Farmina. My DSS is one of the best units in the world and I can RP that too.
OOC: Okay I am now very confused about who is paying who what, I think I am asking for more than that, but I'm not sure.
IC: General Sprit started writing over the top of the old agreement. "This is close to what Farmina wants. And if any you want to give a donation to remove Kalantar its more than welcome."First, all nations involved will agree to leave each other alone, as in accordance with Bahbland's 'LUAAWLYA' plan. They will not interfere with each other's military actions (unless they are in violation of the treaty or attack a nation allied to one of the other involved nations), political decisions, and social actions.

Fourth, Farmina, in turn, will pay for 1/4 of the damages done to Nowhere Place federal buildings (the Legislature Building, police stations).
Fifth, no nation will put fault or blame upon another nation publicly for this war.

Eighth, all soldiers on Farminian soil will be allowed to return to their home nation safely.
Ninth, this treaty goes into effect the moment it is signed by one delegate from all three nations at these negotiations.
He avoided adding "If we don't wipe each other out first."
He continued aloud, "Failure to meet our terms demonstrates Nowhere Place isn't prepared to come to an equitable peace. We accept some responsibility for what happened in Nowhere Place, but you invaded our nation. Then you say we fought against you in Sinear. But again you invaded. Thus we will pay for half the damage."
General Sprit turned his gaze from Dulane to the Bahbians, "But we will not pay mercenaries we didn't hire, it is like paying for pizza you didn't buy. Wesley hired you he pays. We wouldn't usually negotiate with mercinary puppets, but for a while you became your own masters. Is that still the case, or will you slime your way back into bed with Wesley after turning his nation into chease for carving."
The General realised he had let go of himself, "Farmina is still ready to fight, we have the allies to destroy the Nowhere Placan pocket in Farmina. We can cause terror in Nowhere Place. Bahbland can not attack us in fear Kalantar will strike them in the back, but we have the same fear."
---
Kalantar had recalled his delegate from ViZion. If the Bahbians wanted peace it would be bilateral. But Kalantar didn't want peace, he enjoyed the suffering. But he had Wesley to contend with, or Bahbland, or Farmina, so many enemies, which to choose...

Mercenaries are no more puppets than soldiers.
We would be willing to pay for the removal of Kalantar.
On the outskirts of Sinear, a massive militar force lands in a desert/grass land area. Several C-5 and C-130 planes line up along the makeshift runway. Hundreds of tents are pitched in the sun, and many many battle tanks await for the battle that may never come.
President Wesley stands out in the hot sun, desert fatigues failing at blending him into the surrounding sand. He looks on, awaitng a transport helicopter to take him to meet some military leaders...

As Steinburg was led towards his men, all he could think of was: My President is not a dictator.
In reality, he much preferred Clark as a leader over his superior. He would have said as such under different circumstances. But not now. The walls might have ears. Who knew whether a comment like that would get back to his superior or not? Furthermore, he was an agent first, soldier second. Orders from his superior as an agent took priority. He pushed the thoughts out of his mind as he entered the sickbay. What he saw delighted him beyond words. He almost felt like hugging the sergeant and the doctor. In the end, though, he was speechless.
"Thank you for all you've done for may men... I understand that you couldn't save all of them. It's all right."
OOC: IF Farmina invades Sinear, someone else will need to role play the psycotic dictator, Kalantar.
IC: General Sprit looked across at the Bahbian, "So will you agree to our terms. Nowhere Place seems happy too. If you are willing to aid us in removing Kalantar, perhaps we can discuss a partition of the nation, you have spent so much blood there, it is only fair. I'm sure we can even find a portion for Wesley to rule."
---
Kalantar hadn't expected this. Wesley wasn't invading. The army was obviously a hologram. No a Bahbian trick. It couldn't be that big. He shouldn't have betrayed the Farminans, they would have saved him. Traitors. He could see them everywhere. He replayed the message from Wesley. Still a traitor. Traitors burn. Witches burn. Farminans burn witches. Farminans burn.
With that Kalantar awoke from his madness. "Burn 100 of the Farminan prisoners. Do it in the Redian square so people can see what happens if they think I can be played for a fool."
Bahbians,
We of Sinear, happily accept the concept of LUAAWLYA. In accordance with the principles could you please leave in Sinear. The tyrannical Farminans have been imprisoned and no longer threaten you here, so your goals to combat terrorist is no longer required.

Kalantar smirked. Thousands had died trying to get the Bahbians out of his country and all he needed do was ask.
Typical Bahbian treachery. Can't trust them. Watch them.
"Make sure the Bahbians fully withdraw," ordered Kalantar, "Also move the bulk of the forces around Vienv to here. If Wesley thinks he can waltz into the country he must be a fool. Move these troops here too."
OOC: Don't ask me where here and there is, but its close to where Wesley's army is amassing. Since the outskirts are flat, they might be fortifying the far side of a river.

Satellites lurked above... watching the Farminians, Kalantar, everyone...
Kalantar watched the footage of the Bahbian dropships.
One down, two to go. Next stop Wesley's army.

General Sprit looked at the other delegates, "We've managed to agree, haven't we?"
He nearly sounded shock.
"Any remaining issues. Farmina is happy to take any extra donations, we do have a lot of rebuilding to do, not to mention a dictator to deal with. A fleet would be especially helpful, hard to get an army to Altodia (OOC: Nation next to Sinear that every used as a doormat) without one."

Dulane nodded.
"It seems so. Nowhere Place will help with the situation, as soon as we get our troops home and reorganized."
The Supreme Commander watched as the Generals huddled over the maps of Sinear debating statergy.
"I will take no more bickering," he declared, "Our men have horrific fates at the hands of Kalantar and we must act quickly."
He then drew his finger from Altodia to Vienv, "This was the Bahbian occupied zone, Kalantar won't have had time to clamp down, especially considering he is rushing troops over to Wesley."
His finger then drew a ring around Vienv, "Half destroyed and this is where Kalantar is demilitarising to prepare for Wesley."
His finger then drew a quick line to Redian, "A quick march to the capital and Kalantar is out of the way."

"Our computers give us an 86% chance that Kalantar is in this building." He circled a larger structure with the red marker, putting a K at the center.
"We can drop crowbars -small crowbars! -To ensure we don't collapse the building, here... and here" He put two X's on the map.
"That is where we believe his escape tunnels are." After the crowbars impact, our a-" he paused, looking at the Farminian generals. "-allied forces can sorround the building, while another group lands on the building and finds Kalantar; to take him alive.
"We will take Redian in one piece," said General Jefferson to the Bahians, "All Kalantar's administative machinery lies in the one spot...we hope. We shall go in quietly. We already have a small force secretly building up in Altodia. We wait for Wesley to strike, that will force Kalantar to strip most of this area of defences." He used his finger to circle the area between Vienv and Altodia and then quickly moved his finger to where it was believed Wesley was.
The Supreme Commander then took turn, "However knocking out the escape passages is a good move, if not done to soon of late. Once in Vienv our forces will encircle Redian to stop any escape and then we will storm the city with our infantry."
Jefferson paced slowly and said, "Does anyone actually know where Kalantar is keeping the Farminan prisoners? We don't want Kalantar using them as leverage."

The Farminan treasury examined the figures closely trying to calculate the amount that Farmina was entitled under the treaty. They were careful, more than careful; they were fudging the figures, carefully. The cost to build the buildings were used instead of the cost to repair the buildings. Destroyed equipment was often countered twice, troop deployment costs included units that were constructed for the conflict but never deployed. Imaginary units deployed were also countered. The government won all its own reconstruction contracts, with the cost being massive. Fake documents were being printed to show the "costs" Farmina had incurred. The accountants looked as the figures crossed the 100 billion mark and continued to rise.

"Do you think they'll play fair?"
"Of course not. I've anticipated this from the start. They're going to pull a foul hand somewhere. That's why, as soon as we get back, I'm going to request that they let us do a seperate recounting of the damages, with a mixed team of all three nations' inspectors. In that way we get a fair deal. We have our intelligence. We have our own observations. They won't get far. If they don't let us, we cry foul and tell them that they'll get nothing unless we have joint Nowhere Placan/Farminian team to figure out if their cost if reasonable."

Steinburg nodded.
"Yes sir. They do. I delivered it myself, as per your orders. They will take care of it."
"Good. Then everything is going according to plan. You may return to your wife now, Lieutenant."
Steinburg saluted Foreign Minister Mark Dulane, and walked out of his office without saying a word.
Inside the office, Dulane dreamed about making Nowhere Place one of the greatest powers in the world. Clark had accomplished much, but Dulane felt that he was too honor-bent and hot-headed to lead a nation to glory. With Clark and his administration out of the way, nothing would stop him.
Kalantar was getting impatient. The Weslites weren't attacking. He would wait...a little longer.

"Will Farmina survive?"
It was a question that had been asked during the Nowhere Placan invasion; it was now being asked again.
Measures were being taken in case things went poorly.
Greetings to the Coalition of Corporations of Bahbland,
Our nation is at great risk and we don't have the luxury of operatives in Rotovia as we did with Nowhere Place. We are prepared for death, God's embrace steadies our nerves though we wish not to die. We ask permission for all Farminan assets to be shifted into safe, rewarding Bahbian bank accounts. Furthermore we ask that you give sancutary and aid to our First Cardinal; Cardinal Wurts, so he can rebuild the ruins of our nation and plan our revenge against Rotovia.
From the Collective Rulers of Farmina
The fleet had spread itself long and far along the sea border of Farmina, the vessels fanned out so as not to provide a convenient mass target to the Farminan missile threat that loomed over the fleet.
Though supply lines where pumping to the fleet in a steady and continuous rate, there was no doubt that this fleet was disappointed that the quick strike they had set out for would be delayed.
Just over the bow of the RNS Hand-of-God, Admiral Charters could visualise the location of the Dumpsterdam Fleet. The still of night was broken by the jerking metallic clang as the Anti-Bassistic Missile Devices locked into place.
The massive machines were fitting to both port and starboard and were designed to release a flurry of small explosive projectiles at incomming missiles, often with pinpoint aquracy.
With that the agining Admiral stepped aside as a blurred flurry of Rotovian jets took to the sky. The first wave of attackers flew just inchs above the water in an almost moeckery of nature. The nearly 300 Athenia Class Planes were designed specifically for this task.
They flew in low towards their target, with no radar engaged and traveling in vessels desgined for stealth operations the wave of bombers came in almost indedectable.
The first row of bombers rolled into veiw of the Dumpsterdam Fleet and released a passive payload of missiles. They cloung to the water until they had each unloaded at least ten of the small missiles before swirving back towards the Rotovian Battlegroup.
The missiles had just rolled off productions lines that week and though small, wre designed with the sole aim of puncturing hulls. Offering only a smal explosion, the missiles primary goal was breaking th e back of the first row of battleships.
Behind the retreating front line was the next planes with a more sinister task, they were there to fire the infamous Apollo Type Missiles. As the firey streaks of metal scorched accroos the water the final line rose above the second row and released the final volley to be dealt by this first wave of attackers.
The next barrage came in close to the vessels at a slower rate but with a more malicous intent, these missiles were set to track radar and relied upon a key weakness in suprise attacks. The defenders were left with two choices, turn on their radar and face an unknown comming inhilation, or remain blind and face an enemy in the dark.

1,000 Farminan jets flew above the island. 12 rockets flew at the RNS Hand-of-God, the first wave of the Farminan counter attack.
Brilliant flashes of light flew towards the the RNS Hand-of-God. The Anti Missile System automically jumped into action, firing shots at the missiles. Five missiles droped from the sky before the sixth struck the bow of the ship shattering the hull.
One missle fell to the water as others were fired upon the Anti Missile Systems to varying degrees of success.
The night sky was lit up by the flashes of light and the second wave of planes left the decks of the Rotovian Aircraftcarriers, ready to engage their foe.

Unfortunatly your olive branch is coverd in petrol, we have no need to withdraw our fleet that is currently supporting Farmina and now we will defend it against your actions. Yes, we have already spotted your aircraft and we hope you know that you just started a war that will cost thousands of lives.
Quarren watched the TACCOM screen as he gave the order. "Intercept and destroy..." Stupidly enough it was not the DRN radar that had detected the incoming wave but a combination between RWC and DAF satelites together with a visual confirmation from a Farminian fishing trawler. However, there would be no chance to intercept all attacks and Quarren was expecting casualties and alot of them too.
Aboard all carriers and escorts defensive measures where initiated as fighter patrols currently airborne turned on intercept headings and all carriers where launching their available aircraft. Ships engaged ECM suits as they turned on active radar and tagged along with the TACCOM system to target their CIWS and AA systems.
Quarren recieved a quick status update from TACCOM:
Current Airborne Aircraft:
26 Harrier interceptors.
31 JackRabbit ground attack planes.

However I will be expecting you to account for the rediculous accuracy you claim, as well as from where you launch these "crowbars" and I will take into consideration the damage that could actually be caused.Excellent!
Well, they are launched from geosynchronous orbit (about 250 kilometers up) from a satellite (crowbar station.) Each crowbar station has 32 rods, and a partner targetting satellite, that travels a few minutes ahead of the crowbar station. If something needs to be destroyed, the targetting satellite takes a picture of it (through GPS triangulation with Bahbland's GPS satellites) and sends it to the crowbar station. The crowbar station tells however many rods are needed what the target looks like, then drops them.
The rods, or crowbars, are 0.5 x 8 meters long, and have maneuvering vanes at the back, which control the direction it goes. These are essential, without them, they would land hundreds of kilometers off. At the front are the sensors, which are scanning for the target during the first 30 seconds of flight. By the time it locates the target, it is entering our Ionosphere, and it can maneuver. Another 30 seconds later, and heat from entry has burned out the sensors and destroyed the maneuvering vanes, and it is pretty much unstoppable by missile. Lasers are effective throughout the entire fall, though.
Here's the impact info (using this (http://www.lpl.arizona.edu/impacteffects/) calculator)
Your Inputs:
Distance from Impact: 5.00 km = 3.10 miles
Projectile Diameter: 1.45 m = 4.77 ft = 0.00 miles (=0.5 x 8m cylinder)
Projectile Density: 19250 kg/m3
Impact Velocity: 51.00 km/s = 31.67 miles/s
Impact Angle: 85 degrees
Target Density: 2500 kg/m3
Target Type: Sedimentary Rock
Energy:
Energy before atmospheric entry: 4.03 x 1013 Joules = 0.96 x 10-2 MegaTons TNT
The average interval between impacts of this size somewhere on Earth is 3.1 years
Atmospheric Entry:
The projectile lands intact, with a velocity 21.6 km/s = 13.4 miles/s.
The energy lost in the atmosphere is 3.31 x 1013 Joules = 0.79 x 10-2 MegaTons.
Major Global Changes:
The Earth is not strongly disturbed by the impact and loses negligible mass.
The impact does not make a noticeable change in the Earth's rotation period or the tilt of its axis.
The impact does not shift the Earth's orbit noticeably.
Crater Dimensions:
Transient Crater Diameter: 150 m = 491 ft
Transient Crater Depth: 53 m = 174 ft
Final Crater Diameter: 187 m = 614 ft
Final Crater Depth: 39.9 m = 131 ft
The crater formed is a simple crater
The floor of the crater is underlain by a lens of broken rock debris (breccia) with a maximum thickness of 18.5 m = 60.7 ft.
The volume of the target melted or vaporized is 63.9 m3 = 2250 feet3
Roughly half the melt remains in the crater
Thermal Radiation:
Time for maximum radiation: 0.00179 seconds after impact
Visible fireball radius: 0.0367 km = 0.0228 miles
The fireball appears 1.67 times larger than the sun
Thermal Exposure: 1.29 x 101 Joules/m2
Duration of Irradiation: 0.0502 seconds
Radiant flux (relative to the sun): 0.256
Seismic Effects:
The major seismic shaking will arrive at approximately 1 seconds.
Richter Scale Magnitude: 2.7
Mercalli Scale Intensity at a distance of 5 km:
I. Not felt except by a very few under especially favorable conditions.
II. Felt only by a few persons at rest, especially on upper floors of buildings.
Ejecta:
Most ejecta is blocked by Earth's atmosphere
Air Blast:
The air blast will arrive at approximately 15.2 seconds.
Peak Overpressure: 1430 Pa = 0.0143 bars = 0.202 psi
Max wind velocity: 3.34 m/s = 7.47 mph
Sound Intensity: 63 dB (Loud as heavy traffic)

396 JackRabbit long range interceptors.

Wurts looked at the secretary, "Is it done?"
"I have given the Bahbians a request to use our funds to give our operatives Nowhere Placan passports."
"You think we can just buy off the Nowhere Placans," laughed Wurts.
"Maybe, maybe not, but Grey Catholics are everywhere in Nowhere Place, last estimate was at 1% of the population."
"Your point?"
"Suppose there is a Grey Catholic in just the right spot."
"And suppose there isn't?" Wurts retorted.
"Back to the drawing board?"
"I suppose so, but send what wealthy fool who runs this place a note. Tell him very vaguely what we have in mind for Rotovia, and ask if he will aid us. Perhaps Bahbland's top man will know the way in."

From Supreme Commander of Farmina
All the offices belonging to the spies had been bugged when they were out, phones tapped and e-mail watched. Every interaction was recorded, stored as evidence to help humiliate the Nowhere Placan government. Lt Stires walked into one such office. "This report has the latest numbers regarding Nowhere Place's reperations. General Simpson has asked that they be checked."
The plan was simple. The spy would read the report, then inform the Nowhere Placans where Farmina had been cheating, then send the inspectors to check these areas. Of course the report was false, the real areas of deceit were hidden; especially from known spies.
---
Wurts looked up at the diplomatic executive, "We are going to cause absolute chaos, terror, a reign of fire, daily bombings on Rotovian streets. We would do more psyhcological damage than you ever could."
He paused before continuing.
"I know what you think; our religion, its ability you view it as a disease. You look at Nowhere Place where millions have converted and you fear Grey Catholicism like it is a disease, a cancer, making people more loyal to the High Priest than their own rulers. That is perhaps more our cause than anything else; to implant our religion and watch it thrive."

"We can't let you do that, Wurts. We are Anti-Terrorism Pact Council members. We can't authorize the attack of Rotovian civilians. Right now we are fighting Loompanistani terrorists in NW Nepal, after they bombed a monorail a week ago..." he paused, and remembered how close he had come to death. He should have been on that train, but he missed it. "Bahbland is a prime example of terrorism not working the way you want it to."
If you are to use terrorists in Rotovia, Bahbland will no longer offer you protection.
"Surely trying to blow our country into several little bits counts as terrorism, force requires force; and this is the only force we have left," said Wurts.
"We have been pushed into a corner, we warned Rotovia, but they did not step down; so by all measure they asked for this."
He sighed, realising the Bahbian most likely wouldn't change his mind even if Farmina was a radioactive slur, "What if you provide guidelines to about what we can attack?"

There would be no civilian casualties. You could sneak in, plant a charge, sneak out, then watch the ensuing chaos.
"Very well," said Wurts, "We accept all your terms."
Wurts failed to add the only reason was a lack of choice.
"Of the six, we have to men for the purpose of conversion and the other four for hurting Rotovia more directly."
"I hope Farmina still exists when you have shown these four everything they need to know."

Somewhere within Farmina.
Major General Aras Ulas carefully inspected his troops, as expected he didn't find a single comment to make about their equipment or stances. His second, a former servant by the name of Ulas(no coincidence) was walking next to him.
"There all ready, all six-hundred of them." Aras prodded his second who nodded as he swayed his Steyr over his shoulder. "They will do fine, we expect no trouble with taking all operatives captive." Aras did a final check on the permits. "Do we have the clearance of the Farminian goverment to begin the operation?" Ulas raised his shoulders. "Last time I checked, no, but I'll ask them again." He walked over to a laptop standing on a nearby crate and began sending a message.
To Farminian High Command.
DSS special forces units are in position to capture the NP spies within your country, this will be done with a minimal show of force and we will carefully cover up our tracks. However, before we begin we need clearance to capture all of them, if we don't we'll get into trouble with you.
Aras Ulas, Major General Dumpsterdanian Special Forces Division.
OoC: I took the liberty of assuming that we atleast have had permission to fly in these troops into Farmina, if you object, just ignore this. However, I do need permission to capture them. This also assumes a minimal amount of information has been released to your goverment about the spies in order to get clearance.

1) You are perhaps the most immature person I have ever RPed with, and I RPed against FWS. That aside I expect you to consider the disadvantages of night. Now I'll assume that perhaps your satillites picked up my planes because it is reasonable to increase scan over a battle area. Suffice is to say I'm not in the mood to wait for you to sought through your crap so I'll move on.
2) This one I insist on, I don't care whether you GODMOD a sneeze, it affects the RP. Plus the diplomatic message was of significane in terms of how the battle is interpreted by outside parties.
3) My point is slow down a little, let's see a bit more reaction. This is more of a quality point than anything else.
OOC: Rotovia, Dumpsterdam; have you two quite finished your OOC war?
IC: To Aras Ulas,
We aren't ready to move against the spies. We are accumulating evidence. Furthermore we need you to name your source and identify any persons higher up the chain in the leak. However be ready, watch the escape routes we may need to move quickly.

Time to humiliate the rest of the spies.
Two of the spies were each given reports citing Farminan terror attacks to occur on the same day as the Nowhere Placan accountants would arrive in Farmina
Three were given the names of different sets of Farminan spies in Nowhere Place
The final of the seven spies was given a map of the Altoedian parliament with plans to blow it up, again on the same day, in what was labelled “Operation Vengeance.”
The Supreme Commander was most impressed; on the day in two weeks time; Nowhere Place would be absolutely convinced Farmina would be restarting the war and move against each of these misinformation; proving the spies guilt beyond any doubt.
OOC: I can’t be bothered thinking up exactly why the spies are given these reports; but I don’t know their cover either.

Dulane looked over the received reports on his desk.
"So, it's working. They're throwing us a bone in hopes that they bring themselves into the open. There is no way that all of them could uncover so much information at the same time. A shame that such good operatives have to be wasted, but that's the only way the ball will be in my court..."
Private Kemp held on to his rifle tightly as the Farminan APC bounced up and down in the Sinearan mud. “Only a couple of days to Vienv now,” he thought.
The tanks were even closer going on before the infantry to punch wholes in the enemy defences leaving the infantry to mop up.
He had heard tales about the bloodshed in Vienv at the last round of fighting, Kalantar had ordered the city would be recaptured until no Sinearans were left alive; and he was coming good on his promise; few Sinearans were left alive.
The radio blared away as Farminan authorities transmitted their version of the truth, “The Farminan led offensive against Sinear continues with stunning victory after victory. Vienv is within the brave Farminan sights as the two major Farminan armies prepare to smash the defences east and west of Redian. God has given us the ability and the right to win. Even Sinearan’s take up arms against Kalantar in the name of the High Priest and God…”
Suddenly there was an explosion and the APC rolled onto its side. Several Farminans began swearing loudly as they tried to get up. Kemp walked out into the damp Sinearan mud. His feet sunk several inches. It was slow and hard to move. The land had been dry, firm desert before the rain began a few days ago; now its was possible to drown in. “Mines,” someone yelled, “We hit a mine.”
In the front the driver was dead. Kemp saw no point in staying outside, as there was nothing to accomplish out there except to stand on another mine. They just had to wait for one of the other APCs to see them. Typical Sinearans using a dirty weapon like mines. But there were much dirtier weapons in Sinear’s arsenal. To prove the point, within minutes Kemp heard the sound of shells wailing down. The wail was slightly different to that of a shrapnel shell. “Gas,” someone yelled.
It wasn’t the first time the Kalantarites had used chlorine, but it didn’t make getting the gas masks on any easier.
OOC: Are the Rotovian and Dumpsterdam fleet about ready to go back to smashing into each other? Last I remember to airforces were flying at each other, and then there was a bunch of pointless squabling.

"Nowhere Placans had similar tendencies," wheezed the High Priest, "Invade, then just pack up and go home."
"His holiness speaks the truth; Nowhere Place is also a nation of madmen."
"Weak nations bend to public opinion and hence do not see things to the end. That is why we still fight in Sinear," said the High Priest sounding even more out of air.
"His holiness is indeed wise."
"However I will show leniency to the Rotovians. Some leniency that is."

We are prepared to enter negotiations with Rotovia. However we have two conditions. First Rotovia goes to the negotiations with no intention of an equal peace; Farmina wants blood, but is happy to have wealth and power instead. Secondly, the Rotovian fleet will dock in Farminan ports and the crews will disembark. The crews will be fed by Farmina, and you may have a small number guard the ship. The rest of your crew will be used to aid Farmina's continuing reconstruction.

A man wearing black and blue bodyarmour walked into the high priests office, how he got there was not sure but he was armed, to the teeth.
"This message is from the DSS, read it." A gloved hand apeared from under his cloak as he threw a scroll on the desk, a wax seal displaying a Imperial Eagle was pressed into it.

He looked up at the DSS man as aid finished muttering in his ear. "Please wait while my spokesmen prepares a reply for you superiors," he rasped.
To Aras Ulas,
I have become aware that you gave me vagueness when my military needs precise details. Your suggestion that the Nowhere Placan secret service provided the information is absurd. We assume that it was perhaps a member of the secret service; but the agency as a whole is a foolish idea. This is unless the agency is pushing us to arrest those who are not spies. Evidence indicates otherwise. Now stop stalling and find out or give us the real source.
Also don't send anymore of armed messengers; the High Priest is not long for this world as it is, no need to startle him.

OOC: Would someone like to do something? Perhaps Rotovia should dictate some negotiation terms?
IC: Private Kemp listened as shells wailled overhead. Farminan fastfirers were smashing the Sinearan defenders. The APC continued along the road to Redian following the path cleared by the tanks. More shells came crashing down, Sinearan shells this time. They were landing close, too close for his liking. He pulled on his gas mask, although he doubted they were gas shells.
The radio blurted, "Sergeants Rend, Oreste and Carn; you are on mop on G3."
That meant Kemp was going with them. He could hear in the front the scuffling of the map.
G3 was only ten minutes travel. There was apparently a small trench of Kalantarites that needed removing. Kemp hated mop up duties. Tanks often hadn't come through the area to be mopped up and artillery back up was only minor. It was just to make sure a small group didn't make it back to the front where they would be doomed anyway.
The squad emerged out of the APC just as the other two APCs arrived. Bam. An artillery shell slammed down too far in front of them to do any damage. That shells were falling here was the problem. Kemp turned to his left to notice half Barry’s face was torn. Apparently they the shell wasn’t too far away.
Another shell slammed down, ripping apart to men far on his right. Lt Striker yelled, “Don’t just stand there, get’ em.”
Kemp knew “em” were in front of him and so like good cannon fodder charged forward. Then there was machine gun fire. He dropped to the ground, and used his arm to pull himself between cover, taking a shot whenever a target was in clear view.
Progression was fire and move. At any one time half the men were firing, keeping the advancing half covered. Enemy fire slowly withered. Then the white flag came up from the trench, minutes before the Farminans were in a position to storm it.
But the white flag wasn’t just going up there. Kalantar had submitted a conditional surrender.

General Jefferson sat quietly as he drove through the streets of Redian; his aide Major Simpson at the wheel. So far Kalantar had been true to his word. Farminan troops were occupying the city at that very moment and no Sinearans were resisting.
It was when Jefferson reached the city centre that he saw what he dreaded most. From every lamppost hung a Farminan corpse. Burnt flesh and indescribable mutilation marked every one of them. To make sure that they were clearly identifiable as Farminans the dog-tags were pinned to the flesh.
Jefferson muttered the “Prayer to a Broken Warrior”. He should have said it again, but there were too many dead to bless. Kalantar deserved everything he was going to get. Jefferson knew that in God’s glorious name, the High Priest would make sure Kalantar paid.
The jeep came to a stop. They were at the new presidential palace. So new in fact that construction work was still occurring. It was magnificent, even though incomplete. “Too good for Kalantar,” thought Jefferson.
Jefferson left the jeep and then followed a guard to Kalantar’s chamber, as Major Simpson straggled behind. “Ah, you made it,” said Kalantar’s unusually pleasant voice, “Sit down, make yourself at home. I suppose you were planning on it anyway.”
Jefferson remained standing, “Kalantar now that we won the war. We have accepted your conditional surrender.”
“I am well aware of that,” replied Kalantar, “But you are bound by the conditions.”
“Let me tell you that we are not happy with the conditions,” said Jefferson.
“Then why did you accept?” asked Kalantar, “I suppose a war in Dumpsterdam meant you had too save everyman you could. Rather fortunate for me really.”
Jefferson’s silence affirmed Kalantar’s claim.
“He gloats as though he has won,” thought Jefferson; a similar thought filled Simpson’s mind.
“President Kalantar we have every intention of complying with your conditions,” said Jefferson.
“Recite those conditions,” laughed Kalantar.
“And if I choose not to?” asked Jefferson.
“I could be uncooperative,” replied Kalantar.
“And we could ignore the conditions!” warned Jefferson.
“You can’t afford to restart the war,” countered Kalantar.
Jefferson stood resolutely refusing to seed to Kalantar’s demands.
Kalantar took a firm note, “I will hear you Farminans read the terms.”
Jefferson continued to be silent.
Kalantar’s stare saw a tad angry; but not furious.
Simpson broke the silence and gave into Kalantar, “The conditions of the Sinearan surrender are as follows.
1) Kalantar is the ruler of Sinear,
2) Farmina will not claim pockets of Sinear’s land as its own,
3) Farmina will not kill or harm Kalantar,
4) Farmina will not commit acts of genocide in Sinear,
5) The Sinearan army will not be dismantled.
I think that’s right.”
Kalantar looked over to Simpson, “Remembered to the word. Well done.”
“We saw the bodies outside,” said Jefferson, “Did you kill all of the Farminans?”
“Yes, we did,” said Kalantar, “All 5,000 of them. Each died more painfully than the last.”
Kalantar sounded nearly proud of the suffering, and then in a low voice began singing, “5,000 tortured Farminans hanging from the posts…”
“Silence,” ordered Jefferson.
The ferocity of the order stopped Kalantar there and then. Even Kalantar looked shaken.
Jefferson regained his composure and then continued, “Kalantar we have every intention of complying with the conditions.”
“I suppose you have to crush Wesley for me,” noted Kalantar, “Since you are endorsing me as ruler of Sinear.”
“No,” replied Jefferson, “That isn’t how we interpret the conditions. Don’t doubt we will crush Wesley should be cross the river. However for either side to cross the Sinaer River is an expensive task. It will be a natural border between the two new Sinearan republics. If Wesley wants more let him try.”
Kalantar grimaced already knowing the rebuttal, “That violates condition two regarding claiming of land.”
“Condition two only applies to Farminans. We can give away land to other nations as we see fit.”
“Any other tricks?” asked Kalantar.
“Of course,” said Jefferson.
Major Simpson pulled a small tin out of his pocket. He opened the tin to reveal a row of syringes, “These are what we will use to control you.”
“What?” asked Kalantar, moderately panicked.
Jefferson felt a sense of cruel satisfaction, “We agreed to let you rule Sinear. However you shall rule Sinear for us. We have tried that before, it didn’t work. From now on you shall be surrounded by Farminans. And we shall be drugging you to control your reactions.”
“Sedatives?” asked Kalantar.
“Mainly,” replied Jefferson, “And pain drugs.”
Kalantar’s face twisted in anguish, “But that counts as harm.”
Jefferson looked at Kalantar, “Doctors give needles, so the injection can’t be harm. It certainly won’t do physical damage. Pain itself is not harm, so no harm.”
Jefferson paused before continuing, “Actually I think you could do with a very large dose of pain right now, don’t you Major.”
“Certainly, I think he should live through the torture he caused those Farminans over and over again.”
Kalantar’s screaming could be heard throughout the day long into the night.

Dr Sarah Hours
Secretary to the
Office of the President
12 medium range missiles with state of the art guidance systems. Ten million dollars US.

By the way, I suspect you live in Melbourne, is that correct.

Agreed.
OOC: I live in Perth.
