The Government of Ilham has declared that atheism and agnosticism are to be recognised as official religions and their clergy and members officially required to get licenses and register their organisations with us.

As required under law, they are also required to pay a tax of 10% from their stated income each year and are required to submit to an audit every 2 years.

Curious....you are taxing one religion that says there is no God, and another that questions God's existence. If you will accept that the word "religion" means "a return to bondage", then the taxation thing makes sense.

Which reminds me of a joke:

What do you get when you cross a dyslexic agnostic with an insomniac?

You get a guy who lays awake at night wondering if there's a Dog.......

Chellis is saddened that someone is taxed for not believing in something. Chellis hopes Ilham realizes the error of its ways and changes its laws.

Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Yethow Abdul commented on the embargo enacted by the nation of Chellis:

"We are not overly concerned with Chellis's actions as trade links with them is minimal, amounting to a net worth of 3 million Ilhami credits per year.Seeing as this embargo will minimally affect both our countries,Ilham see no need as of yet to take retaliatory action and the movement of its citizens from our planet will not be affected.

OOC:Vepolis,I myself am of the position that all religions should be taxed regardless, and that includes atheism, agnosticism and any other organised group claiming to represent a religion or belief system.I myself am a freethinker aldeist, which is a more philosophy than religion.Turned from Catholic to agnostic to near atheist to agnostic to theist to aldeist.

Atheism can be dogmatic on occasion and I dislike atheism as much as I dislike organised religion.Atheists I know of have tended to be abrasive and militant in pusing their beliefs on you, very similar to dogmatic Christian individuals I have encountered.Same shit, different day, equally dogmatic. They are all the same.At least most agnostics I know are not militant or push it on you.

OOC: Funny, all the athiests I know (and have known in the past) are really passive and generally nice people. I'm an athiest myself and I don't think people should inflict their beliefs on others. Perhaps the people you know are the 'vocal minority'?
