Conquest - 962 AD (Invite Only)

This thread is based in Europe, North Africa, and the Near East in the year 962. This means no guns, and the most technologically advanced transportation are Viking Long Boats and Turkish Galleys. The Roman Empire ceased to exist 500 years ago. This is the age of Charlamange, of the Vikings, and of the Rise of Islam...

In 962, Kaufmanstad had existed for only 142 years. It had started as a loose confederation of cheiftains, but now, Kaufmanstad is a unified Kingdom under the leadership of King Erich the Bold, who had his capital at the growing town of Kaufmansburg. His Kingdom stretched over the delta region of the Rhine River.
Now that Kaufmanstad was united and under his firm leadership, Erich looked elsewhere to expand...

EDIT: Again, like in the old "Conquest" I occupy the Netherlands and Belgium

*A man stood on the northern shores of Tunisia, he wore and odd asortment of robes and trousers, he had a belt around his waist, on it were numerous weapons, mainly a short falchion and a schimitar, on his chest was an iron breastplate, with numerous stars chiseled into it. Behind him were two guards, each with a large battle axe. To his side was a man dressed in full robes and a turban, who had a weak look to him.*
"King sir, do you not appriciate youre land ? you fought, you united many roaming tribes and formed a single nation, and then, you sailed across the water, conquerd another island, are you not happy ? you are king..."*said the man. A camel walked slowly by behind them, it made a loud noise, and moved on.*
"I am not king, a ruler, a leader. I lead a lot of desert nomads and am ruler over deserts and....camels"*he said, camels he said with a distain for.*
"There are no camels, in the land of ruins..."*said the man.*
"The land of ruins... there is little sand there.... grass..... oh how i do long the touch of grass..."*said the leader.*
"S...Sir, our fleets are rotting away, and our soldiers are drinking and getting fat, we could... sail, cross the oceans and conquer those lands."*said the man, with a slight bit of fear in his already weak voice.*
"I have waited... and waited for this moment. But you have neglected to tell me my armies are bored and my fleets rotting... you have told me they are busy training... my ships trading..."*said the man with anger.*"Why do i still have you as my advisor ?"*he shouted.*
"B..b...because, sir... i am well trained in economic, and military studies, ... i have read books and..."*said the man, cowering.*
"And you are Ottavio's younger brother, I fought with him, he was like a brother to me, until he was killed. Now, you prove youreself and go, ready my fleets, prepare my army, we sail at sunset."*said the leader, who then began to walk off, his guards following him.*
*At sunset, fifteen galleys set sail out of Tunisia, their destination, Sicily. They arrived during the night, the ships went on and were to dock at the north east of the island, the leader, his two guards, and over a hundred other men, all armed, rode on Arabian stallions towards Sabbia (RL Agrigento) They stormed the palace that had been built, none of the guards stoped them, they marched in the the rulers bedroom. The bed wasnt empty, the sheets concealed a large bulge. The leader of Tunisia marched in, and grabbed the sheets and pulled them off.*
"No ! i am not ready to die !"*said the man who was under the covers, he sighed when he saw who it was.*
"Octavio, it is you... a man riding with full escort scares one... but"*said the man.*
"Renold, prepare youre fleet and men, we set sail at sunrise."*said the man as he walked out, he then went back to his men and rode to rendevous with the fleet. By sunrise, seventy five riders, and two hundred twenty-five intanry men were there, seventy five archers, one hundred and fifty footmen. Renold was at thier lead, he wore a breastplate with a single small star in the center. They rendevoud with the fleet, and boarded the ships. The ships set sail, they looked like galleys, with a fore and aft castles for offensive reasons, but a deep hull to hold men, supplies or both. As the sun rose the next day, they had landed in Calabria, they galleys sailed ashore, they unloaded the men, about four hundred men in all. They then got togather, loaded supplies on spare horses, or camels, and marches fowards. During the night, other galleys had been sent, the islands of Malta and Sardegna had been occupied. During the course of one, long night, two more islands and part of the main contenient had been occupied. The armies of the Tunisian/Sicilians werent ready yet, barely any of the fleets had been used, the conquest was just begining.*

OOC: As in the old thread, I own all of modern day Germany.

IC: The country of Tomzilla was now 100 years old. It was decended from the Germanic Tribes that had destroyed the power of Rome. The three main cities were Tomzilla(rl Berlin), New Tomzilla(rl Munchen), and Urdel(rl Bremen). However the cities would probably have a population of 5,000 people each during peace. The main part of the population lived in the peaceful countryside. The cities were nothing more than large amounts farmland walled in by massive walls during peace. But in war, the people fled to the cities for protection. The current king was Dieter Friedmann. His reign began 10 years ago and he was building a defensive army of over 10,000 for protection. The people felt safe. Now, King Dieter was planning to send emmisaries to the lands to the west for trade and peace purposes.

Can I join? If so then
The Arabic nations of the south had recovered and moved into their cities after the fall of rome. The Tribes united as the Bassyrians this nation warred amongst itself over kingship constantly but when an enemy appears they would join together and fight even if it meant taking on the whole world. The current ruler is King Insok.
Not satisfied with Arabia Insok gathers all of Arabia to destroy the growing power in Persia and bring it down for good. The nomads all move to the border with their few fortresses completely garrisoned Insok begins the 3 month preperation for the army of wich he would use to take persia.

IC: Atsisng Atsao was a mercenary tribe employed in the service of King Arisgki of the Atislian. Unfortunately, King Arisgki did not properly pay the Atsisng Atsao and was concentrated on purging them from his borders. This quickly leads to the rise of Chief Bollinboke I, who did lead a 20 year war against Arisgki in preserving his tribes freedom...

************************************
King Ghasili Bollinbokeson looked over his comrades, whom looked anxious on what their chief was going to say. Inside, King Ghasili felt pride within his chest, almost at the verge of euphoria.

"Men! We have killed the Owlees! They are the dirt to our shoes! Let us celebrate! Let us cry to the Heavens for our victory! My father, the great leader that he was, did show them what the Atsingatisao can do! Let us rise above the Owlee scum that they are, and rise a kingdom so fair, so strong, so mighty, that all Owlees can know what the Atsingatisao can do! Let the banner rise, let the blade shine, let our strength dominate all, for we are the Atsingatisao, the Chosen, the Annoited, the Strong!!!"

The crowd cheered.

*the men rode and walked on slowly, there was no resistance, they hadnt even found a town, a remote patrol... nothing. As they passed over a hill they saw a band of about five hundred light militia and archers, badly put togather, with little light cavalry, but they outnumberd the invaders. The invaders took positions, pikemen and pole infantry up front, axemen in the second line, then an assortment of me narmed with blades, all had animal hide or leather covered wooden shields. The archers were behind the Infantry. The cavalry was split in two, half on each flank. Octavio(the leader) lead the cavalry, while Renold(allied Sicilian) took the infantry. the battle would be short. The defenders took a square formation, archers in the middle and pole arms men on the sides. The defenders loosed a volley of arrows, they clankced and were mainly inneffective, suffering from bad aim and poor arms. The invaders pulled togather, with few losses, a man from each side with a torch moved through the archers ranks, not a minute later the sky filled with dark smoke and flaming arrows, they rained down upon the defenders, not with incredable accuracy, few defenders were hit, but the drying ground chaugt fire and the defenders, in their square began to panic and rush out of the flames, at this moment Octavio lead a cavalry charge from both wings, each one fanning out, in an attempt to surround the defenders. Renold lead his infantry fowards. The battle hadnt lasted thirty minutes and it was over. The invaders had an astounding victory, with few lossed, the defenders were crushed, the aftermath was however unlike desert people. The captives were made to look after the wounded from both sides, and then they were given the option to drop thier weapons and return home, or join. Many went home, but a few stayed behind, the bodies of the dead were buried, and then the force continued on. The survivors who joined them called them "Kihans", the name would stick. Though they spoke a differant language, the Italian defenders were able to converse with the Sicilians easily, but the Tunisians it was more difficult. Regardless, the forces continued on towards the main land. However, at the homeland of Tunisia, all was not boring. The troops were gathering and training, some being sent on galleys to Sicily and other newly acquired lands, however a large force was massing on the eastern borders of Tunisia, mainly cavalry or camel riders, but there were some infantrymen. These men would eventually, once a leader was found, march into Libya. The Sicilians were not idle either, the men made ships or weaponary, the "Kihans" had fewer people then other countries, but that was due to a lack of land, that would change.*
*The armies in Tunisia had found a general to lead them, his name was Iban. Withouth delay. The armies there consisted of mainly horsemen, many more infatry had joined in a short time, and now the numer of camels were small. There were about three hundred cavalrymen, some two hundred infatry and fifty camels. The tactics were of desert people, quick strikes and warfare in open plains. However, warfare wasnt the only expanding part of the Kihan people, thier galleys that were unfit for war served as trade and scout ships.*

The great king Insok agrees to the invitation and sends you his firstdaughter Lasratin to become one of your many wives as your kingdom probably has to show for it's greatness. Unfortunatly I will not be able to join you at your great table for I am preparing for a great battle at Persia my condolences. signed Insok

After the messanger leaves the nomadic encampment Insok sends riders out to the far reaches of the Arabic nation. The riders carry messages ordering them to gather at the far east of the nation and prepare for the war to come. It will be a good month in a half before they arrive and then there is the three months of preperation on top to think about. Insok starts gathering his encampment for the second day of their travel. He goes to his local genius (or scientist) to see the great development that he was talking about.
Upon arrival the genius strides up to the King and bows down to the floor. The king Insok seems to not notice the gesture and immediatly gets down to business.
"This creation Gemfinn where is it." The king askes impatiently.
" Over here sir." The distressed reply came
Both figures stared down at a fold of cloth. The little man called Gemfinn unfolds the cloth and before them lay a gauntlet (wich in truth was invented right before the age of the Vikings). This Gauntlet had two claws that resembled sharp hooks that connected with the gauntlet at about the knuckles. Gemfinn put on the gauntlet and had the guards bring in a slave for demonstration.
"Well sir it can slash as normal but this is it's best function" Gemfinn proclaimed as he fastned the slave to a post.
The slave who was uterly terrified was punched in the chest right where the human heart was. Gemfinn turned his hand in a half circle and withdrew it having the slaves heart suspended between the two claws and the slave fell dead.
"Amazing Gemfinn I want every one of our soldiers tohave one." The king proclaimed.
"Y-yes sir, o and sir I have more gauntlets and two new blades that take after a similar design." Gemfinn states.
"Good prepare enough so that everyone can have at least one of everything then they can choose their own weapons. The Persians are going to lose this time." Insok glimmers with a smile.

(ooc: Has Poznon been invited ? And Dragons Peak, where exactly is youre Persia ? you mentioned cresent peak and stuff.... anyways, i ask because i started in Tunisia and Sicily.)
*Octavio (main leader) and Renaldo(Sicilian general)'s men were easily able to pass through Italian territory, until they came to Naples. The people at Naples had been warned, and prepared for a battle. Almost one and a half thousand soldiers were in the city, compard to some four hundreds attackers. The defenders were in shock, the sight of lightly armored darker skinned shocked them. Unlike heavy and light cavalry, the Kihan cavalry was much differant. The horses were all stallions, thier riders had a breastplate, specially designed, there was a slash chiseled in for each year of service, s star for evrey battle won, and a weapon, pole arm, bow or blade, whatever the soldier used, for each kingdom conquered, but that was all the armor on the men, there was a pack each one carried on their back containing food and equipment for that specific soldier, or a quiver if it was an archer. Thier horses wore durable saddles made from animal hides, they were used to carry light food and equipment. The melee infantry had shields made of reeds and animal hides, and a light chainmail or scail mail armor, their weapons were mainly spears and a type of pike, although some carried harpoons, these men were from coastal areas, for closer range, the men carried a sickle, falchion, or other curved blades. For evrey ten infantrymen there was someone whose garments were hemmed with purple thread, these men were normally taller and had massive schimitars with them. The archers had no armor, but ruboes and a large quiver. They carried large composite bows and small falchions for melee combat, whereas the mounted archers carried smaller composite bows and larger blades. The Naple's carried swords, spears, pikes, and an assortmetn of other weapons with iron shields and more armor. There were also mercanaries from other Italian cities thier armed in the same fashion. The main naples force was positioned outside the city in deep line formation, the mercanaries guarded the flanks. Arhcers were behind the infantry, but there were few cavalrymen there. It was mid day, but niether army moved, the Kihans set up camp and the Italians rested their men, but kept sentries on watch. After midnight hte first attack came, a group of Kihan mounted archers charged a sentry and fires thier arrows taking out others, however one sentry was able to alert the army, the Kihan archers retreated, a group of some one hundred Italian persued them, but the Kihan camp was a good distance away, and the fires had been put out. The Italians qukickly lost thier way and began to return to the line, just then arrows flew from all different directions and mowed them down, infantrymen came in and finished them off. The Kihan infatry then took battle positions and appeared to stay for battle, their archers lit flaming arrows and fired them at the Italians, but they fell about ten yards short, the green grass didnt catch fire and the arrows quickly burnt out. Then the Italians advanced, but they didnt get five yards ahead when some arrows struck a few soldiers, the Kihan infantry archers didnt do a thing, they didnt come from the city either, this made the Italians suspicious and they ordered a full charge with all men outside the city. Within moments of the charge the Kihan archers unleased a lethal volley of arrows, some had blunted tips with small sacks filled with tar or oil, these flew badly and fell short of thier targets, some of the Kihan archers fired with flaming arrows, some with normal bodkin arrows, the Italian infantry advanced still. The Italian archers stayed behind, incase the line broke and the infantry needed to retreat. However, the Kihan cavalry, under the comman of Octavio had moved eastwards during the night, and went behind the lines, unseen and unheard due to the commotion of arrows being fired, but they sneaked around, and charged towards the defensless archers, they attempted to rally, but quickly began to flee, few arrows flew, fewer riders fell. Octavios cavalry moved in, mowing down the archers, all unbenounced to the charging infantry force, the cavalry then began to throw hooks over the walls in an attempt to scale the wall. As the Italians cahrged and gained ground quickly, more and more flaming arrows were used, until one struck a tar arrow fired earlier, it struck like a burning pebble, the Italians were none the wiser thinking it would soon extinguish. Then the Kihan infantry took small pots of pitch and flung them with all thier might at the tar arrows, it soon became an inferno, the Italians broke line and fled, some continued the charge, but the mercanaries were also in full retreat. Those that continued the charge meet with long and sharp pole arms and inflicted little damage. The Kihan infantry force then moved away and around the fire, suprisingly in formation, and they marched onto the city. The city gates were open, nothing out of place were seen, it was dark and the slain archers couldnt be seen, Octavio and his cavalrymen moved their horses into the city and manned the walls, when the Italians were close, they let the gate slam closed, archers loosed arrows from both sides, the Italian force was quickly decimated, but some one hundred and fifty surrendered. Naples had been captured. After the battle, the dead were buried and the wounded tended to, in the end the Kihan forces gained men, many Italians decided to join. Now, they had some two hundred cavalry, and four hundred infatry and one hundred and fifty archers. Over the next few days, a galley was sent to Tunis (Capital city, obviously in Tunisia) to spread word of the victory. The Italian blacksmiths were busy forging new weapons, mainly arrows.*

*In Libya, Iban had quickly passed the desert and reached Tripoli, there a sizeable force of some ount thousand Libyan spearmen blocked his way. Ibans cavalry was used to harras the supplies coming into the city, other than that it was a stand off. It became apparent the Libyans would soon attack when the soldiers droped any extra weight, carrying a spear, some had light shields, but most were just spearmen, no helmetns, no armor of any sort. Iban gathered his mounted forces, camels and cavalry, and moved them away from sight, behind sand dunes. He left his infantry there, spears in front, blade in the middle, archers to the rear. At night, the Libyans made thier move and charged with thier mass numbers over the desert sands towards the greatly out numbered Kihan infatry. The archers fired as fast as they could, bringing down many Libyans, and then the entire infantry force began to slowly fall back, the Libyans now had to cover more and more ground, while under arrow fire, it was night and none of the arrows could be seen, until a fire arrow was seen in the distance, over the dunes, then the infantry forces were in mass retreat, the pole arms men fell back slowly however, keeping in formation to prevent the Libyans from breeching thier lines. Then, panic came as Ibans cavalry came around the flank of the Libyans and cut many down with arrows, then the infantry came back and they encircled the Libyan forces, it was a vicious fight that lasted all night, until only some two hundred Libyans remained in fight shape, and even they were tired, it became apparent the Libyans were going to lose when the light crept over the sande dunes and eluminated the field, the pole arms men, both mounted and on foot, had merely kept the Libyans at bay, the blade men merely charged in at times in the battle to keep the bluff up. The causulties were inflicted by archers, but the firing stopped some time in the night due to a lack of arrows. When the Libyans dsicovered this, they surrendered themselves and thier city, Tipoli. The Libyans were sent out across the desert to gather the other tribes, while some of Ibans men went back to Tunis to spread word of thier victory, again, the blackmisths of Tripoli were busy making more arrows and arms.*

*In Tunis, even before word of any victory arrived, men had gathered, all cavalry, this time many more camels and fewer horsemen, some four hundred camels and one hundred horses, a general named Rozzen took control and began to march the men westwards, into Algeria.*

*Octavio was getting bored, though the blacksmiths worked hard, it still took a long time for the entire army to be re supplied, so Octavio ordered the blacksmiths, and forgers, to make only arrowheads and hooks. He ordered sewers to make ropes, the lumber mills and supply depots to make arrow shafts, and he ordered the hunters and butchers to give up any feathers they find, all to make arrows. Soon, this was done and a supply of arrows was coming in. Octavio, not wanting to loose his momentum, called up his forces, he left a garrison of one-hundred troops at Naples, while he took the other four hundred soldiers northward (two hundred begin cavalry), they crossed hills quickly, one after another, and then they came over another... and they saw it... a massive army, badly formed, but huge, and growing as groups of soldiers came. They had made a massive camp, defended by sentries and hastily raised pallisade walls. An alert was sounded as soon as Octavios cavalry was spotted, at least two thousand men were in the camp, half of those piled out and came into formation. Octavio had his men quickly form lines, pole armes in front, blades behind them, archers behind them, as normal. His Cavalry was split, one hundred on either side of the infantry, to guard flanks. The Italians were smarter this time, they had shields and weapons, but little armor, to give them speed and manuverability, but the archers they had were at the camp, the Italians also brought with them some horses, but these were used for thier commanders. The Kihan archers fired thier bows at high slants, but thier arrows rained down upon a wooden roof of shields, so the Kihan archers aimed at the horses, thier arrows hit with deadly power, soon the horses fell and made small gaps in the shields, which the archers took advantage of. The Italians held thier shields up, then the arrows stopped. Octavio didnt stay long enough to fully equip his archers, now it was time to see if it payed off or not. When the Italians knew the firing stopped, they put thier shields at normal level and advanced quickly to the Kihan army. Octavio shouted an order in a Tunisian dialect, his front line raised thier weapons, as if to let the Italians charge through, but as soon as the Italians were about thirty feet away the Kihans threw thier weapons like Javaliens through the air, the front line of the Italians was now riddled with gaps from where the soldiers avoided hitting the pole arms. The Kihan men, archers and pole arms men, pulled out thier melee weapons and charged fowards, the Cavalry soon charged, and a massive battle ensued. The Italians, wanting to end the invasion of thier land, sent their remaining garrison fowards into battle, all men were given melee weapons regardless of thier profession, it was a battle of the blades. Octavio shouted more orders, all of the men their were in battle, even Octavio and Renaldo were fighting from horseback. The Kihan cavalry moved fowards in the fighting, giving his infantry room to retreat, they did so and then the cavalry quickly fell back. The Kihan infantry charged again, this time in a more unorginized mass, a more desert way of fighting. The cavalry continued falling back, and then they turned and charged at the Italians, the fighting had been forced into a mass of Italians fighting the Kihan troops, Octavio took advantage of this and lead his cavalry into a broad charge against the Italians. The Kihan infantry moved out of the way, when the cavalry hit the Italian line it was a moment fit for a legend, an outnumbered force of cavalry charging massive numbers of troops. The Mysticisim of the moment soon faded and the reality struck, horse holves met flesh and shield alike, the charge had succeded, to a point. The horses quickly charged down upon the Infantry, it lead to a domino effect, but some Italians stood their ground and fought the charge. The cavalry quickly made mincemeat of most of the Italian line, and made wide breeches, but it came at a price, Octavio, who had commanded the Kihan forces, who had commanded the Tunisian tribes, who commanded, at one time a small band of warriors, and now an empire, he was thrown from his horse to the ground, he got up and drew his schmitar, but he was wounded already. The infantry quickly charged into the gaps made by the cavalry, and rallied with thier commander, who was now on foot. The cavalry made their way past the battle, to the opposing camp, where they charged in, some men dismounted and began to battle with the guards, but a majority of the cavalry made thier way around back to the battle, soon it was a stalemate, but now the Kihan forces had made gaps and inflicted heavy causulties on the Italians. Eventually, since the Kihan lines were so thin, a breech appeard, and many Italians fled, never to fight against the Kihan army again. This was the last major battle, the Italians had been lead by a Roman descendant into battle, thier leader fell due to archer fire early in the battle. Octavio's men quickly moved into the formerly Italian camp, thier they found prize arrows, food, other supplies, and weapons. Octavio was badly wounded, he was cut in the left leg, cut on both arms, and a stray sword pieced the gap in his armor, he bled badly. His doctors shook thier heads and talked with each other, eventually one of the doctors came to him.*
"Sir, youre wounds are bad, and we fear the worst. In the case.. it does some to the worst, who shall succed you in rule ?"*asked the doctor.*
"I...have fought in more battles, won land and richers beyond my wildest dreams, and i have made an oath to only two people, i pleged to Ottavio that his brother would be protected, and that has been accomplish, and i pleged to my father i would unite Tunisia, i have done both. But now i pleged to you, i will see Rome again."*he said, and then slowly drifted into sleep. Renaldo, covered in blood, came in shortly thereafter.*
"Octavio... you probably cant hear me, but you once said to me, to conquer lands and build an empire, for each grain of sand there will be a drop of blood. I didnt understand it at the time, but now i do. I didnt understand it when Ottavio died, but now i do. There is no victory without sacrifice, no gain without loss, i never thought it would happen to you."*said Renaldo, he looked at Octavio, and walked out again.*

*Iban, in the east, was being patient, he waited for supplies to be made, his armeis refitted, and his troops well rested. While he was waiting, various Libyans returned with more and more troops, mainly spearmen. They came with pledges of allegience, Triopli, and the main army, had been defeated, a feat that all Libyans thought impossible, now they joined this great conquerer with hopes to gain land and riches.*

*In the west, Rozzen gathered his forces and rode out into Algeria, he meet little resistance as word hadnt spread there yet of the conquering armies.*

*In Tunis, even more armies gathered, this time mainly infantry, but this would be it for the voulenteers, mainly young men with nothing to do, this was a bad thing, so the govenor of Tunis ordered the men to either fish, mine or smith to keep them busy until a general arose.*

"Our encampment has joined with two other groups and we are readily suppling them with the new weapons." The guard reported as Insok was now ready to indpect the troops before the next few days of journey.
"Good, I expect them to be fully equiped before sundown today."
"Yes sir."
The next few days of travel where unneventful as they neared the border more and more encampments joined. The army at this point was around 2,500 men and the army only needed four more encampments to join and they ould be ready for the 3 month military buildup. Insok had planned on having 3,000 men a huge outstanding army to crush the Persians. They had three months and a week left and Insok would have his entire army built. Insok planned on having after the buildup 5,000 soldiers.

*With the armies tired after yet another battle in Italy, some thought it better to rest, but now they ahd food and supplies, not to mention medical assistance due to captured Italian pyschicians, Renaldo took this matter to Octavio, thought badly wounded, he still had most of his wits about him.*
"Sir, what shall be youre orders for our conquest ? our troops are tired and in low numbers, but the Italian armies have been devastated."*asked Renaldo.*
"Take the land, leave a small garrison here, send word to naples and on to Tunis for reinforcements. You move to rome, cut off supplies and attempt to poison the rivers and wells, make the Italians suffer, until they surrender."*said Octavio. Renaldo nodded and went back to the troops.*
"Men, get togather youre arms, we ride in one hour."*said Renaldo, the army was slow to gather, but they did, thought batterd and bruised, they quickly made the short trip to the outskirts of Rome, away from archer fire. Thier numbers were only two hundred, so they could not risk major open warfare. Renaldo gave the orders and his men rode or walked off. Some men put dead animal carcasses, or buckets of old blood to poison rivers and wells, other saboteurs took torches to the surrounded farm houses and granaries, and then united back with Renaldo, the men were then split, one group in each direction, to prevent food from being snuk into the city. Many Italians fled, but when they saw the forces that abound, though small, they had no morale and were distraught by the defeats, they surrendered. They were then sent back to the city to negotiate a surrender, not of the city, but of the rest of Italy. While they came in and distracted the few city guards, Renaldos cavalry and infantry sneaked into the city, right outside the govenors villa.*
"You must surrender, or we will all be killed"*urged an Italian citizen.*
"No, no surrender. We will fight to the last man if we must."*said the govenor.*
"That is the problem, they will not fight, they have bloodied our water and burnt our food, we will starve to death if we do not surrender"*said a farmer.*
"Then i will fight them, gather the men and we will march out !"*said the govenor, he went away for a moment then returned in a roman style of armor, he then went to the doors of his villa, they were bashed down, a group of his guards lay uncouncius on the ground, Renaldo and his men were there, Renaldo drew his sword, his archers drew their bows, their melee troops readied thier weapons.*
"Surrender, or die"*said Renaldo. The govenor began to shake, and try to run, but the citizens blocked his way.*
"Yes...yes..please dont kill me..."*said the govenor, he knelt to one knee and threw down his sword. Shortly thereafter, Italian riders departed to spread word of the fall of Rome.*

*In Libya, after being re supplied and re armed, Iban departed with his cavalry, quickly heading eastwards. His camels and infantry followed as quickly as they could, but some camels and horses were left in Tripoli, these would be sent to Iban to re supply him as he went along. Like a storm, Ibans cavalry rushed across the Libyan desert, they made few stops, at wells and towns, they gathered water and allegience from Libyan tribes, now Ibans sights were on Egypt.*

*In Algeria, Rozzen ordered his men to charge into the Algerian deserts, there was no resistance as tehy thundered across the sands, like Iban, Rozzen made any towns give their allegience, and supplies aswell as troops. Algeria was in Rozzens sights.*

*In Tunis, word quickly arrived of the victories in Italy, about one hundred infantry men boarded galleys and were sent to Italy as reinforcements, but still some six hundred were thier, put under labor to keep them occupied.*

The Duke Grzegorz ("Gregory") rose from his seat, tankard in hand. The hall was full to the seams with warriors and other men eating, drinking, and making merrying, while several women skillfully managed to keep the cups and plates of those gathered full. Shadows from torches on the walls, and the men's singing and talking, kept the night outside away.

"Men, men," Began Gregory. The warriors began to quiet somewhat. "My brothers!" The men stopped talking compltley, turned to the Duke with tankards, and shouted, "Brothers!"

"Yes, yes." continued Gregory, "Tomorrow, we shall depart on a journey south to unite our kingdom once, and for all. If every thing should go to our plans, our quest will be unmet with force. Our people have splintered like so many shards of a log, and have grown weary.

"But be warned, we may have to rise a sword to a neighbor to finish our mighty task. Do so quickly, and pray to Svarog for their souls. Now, my brothers, we fight to unite the People of the Plains!" Cheers erupted from the men, followed by many stamping thier feet on the floor.

*After a short time, Italian riders returned to Rome, they informed thier govenor that the remaining Italian states agreed to surrender. Renaldo sighed and sent a rider to Octavio to tell him the good news. A short while later, the riders came back, a wounded, but capible Octavio rode with them. They gathered togather, they sent out riders to all the Italian, now Kihan, states, there would be a great feast in Rome to celebrate the victory. Word quickly passed on back to Tunis, the men there were overjoyed in the victory.*

*In the east, Iban and his men thundered across the sands, stopped to resupply, and then going on, they quickly came to the Egyptian border, there an army of some five hundred Egyptians gathered. Iban ordered his archers to fire a volley on his order. Iban then lead his cavalry in a charge, he signaled the archers to fire, the Egyptians put up thier shields to block the arrows, but were trampled by the cavalry. The few remaining Egyptians fled in terror. After the short battle, Iban sent a detachment of Libyans into the Libyan deserts to gather alegiences from all the tribes of Libya to join him. All supplies and troops were to be sent to Cairo, where no doubt a battle would be fought.
*In the west, Rozzen discoverd a tragic flaw. His men had grown in numbers, up to seven hundred good riders, but he discoverd that his maps had been eitehr badly made, or sabotouged, they indicated Algeirs, the capital city, was deep within the desert, but some natives informed him it was a coastal city. This was a loss, but no a major one. Rozzen then lead his cavalry northward, towards Algiers.*

*In Tunis, there was a feeling of joy, but also of depression. The soldiers there were happy to hear of the victories, but unhappy that they had to work. Without a major leader, they could not march, but that changed. A man by the name of Tiberus, a Sicilian and veterain of the recent Italian campaign, took charge of the men [about six hundred, but about one hundred stayed in Tunis{lack of boat space}], since horses were few and far between, and camels used mainly for trade, the logical way to expand was the sea. In his battles, Tiberus had heard of an empire to the east, and since Kihan armies were out conquering, he decided it best to fight against those leaderless nations. Tibereus ordered all the galleys and canoes to be gatherd in Tunis, and soon they were. The soldiers in the city happily followed Tiberus, he had them load the bigger galleys with food and arrows, and then he loaded the men on board and departed to the west, by the sea. Within a short time, they reached a small, but very rocky island (RL Gibraltar), here they set anchor and went ashore in the smaller canoes. He left some fifty men their to build a fort and fish, he also left some five canoes. Then, Tibereus sailed to a much larger land(RL southern Spanish coast) it was still rocky, but he sensed conquest, and ordered his men to unload.*

*In the now-emptied, or mostly emptied, Tunis, the scouting and exploring ships returned. They reported rocky islans to the west, fertile lands and island to the east, and out, beyond [RL Gibraltar], the ships that went north said they saw fertile lands, and many rivers, but they turned back sighting some long ships and foreign people, the ships that went south reported deserts.*

*Soon, the Italian leaders gathered in Rome. There was a quick feast, a main long table was coverd in plates of food, both Italian, Sicilian, and desert foods. But there was only enough wine and drink for evreyone to have one goblet. Octavio had the men gather in a single room, there he asked each leader of the Italian provinces to give him their aliegence, they had said they would, but now it was in person. Octavio, though wounded and still not up to par, was a powerfull figure. Octavio was about seven feet tall, his old horse was just large enough to hold him, Octavio had a schimitar at his belt, and he was coverd in robes. None of the Italians denied him their allegience. Octavio wasnt a cruel man, sometimes egotistical and imperialistic, but he was a smart and cunning leader. There was to be a tribute (tax) sent from each city to rome, one gold piece for each citizen and two gold pieces for each building in a city, it was a very small tribute, Octavio also informed the leaders to lower the taxes in their counties. Octavio trusted the Italians enough to let them keep their positions. Octavio also asked, but not demanded, the Italians to send any pyschically fit men to Rome or Naples to join the armies. He also requested any prisoners to be brought to rome, there they would be given a choice of army service, forced labor, or live out thier punishments, whatever fit thier crime. These, along with a few other governmental issues, were talked about, and then the meeting was ajourned Octavio talked with Renaldo some time, and then the two men parted paths.*
"Renaldo, i leave to Naples, there i shall board a ship, and continue my quest. You stay here, find able men to govern Rome, the tributes, and the prisoners. You are then free to do whatever you wish."
"Very well. I wish you luck and fair winds, Octavio. May there always be water in youre goblet."
*the conversation ended with that, Octavio gathered the remainder of his cavalrymen, and then rode to the encampment he had captured. There doctors bandaged him up, and then he departed for Naples, when he arrived he boarded a galley and set sail back to Tunis.*

*In Egypt, Iban met little resistance, an ocasional bandit or archers hiding in the rocks, but nothing major. He continued on, without delay, towards Cairo.*

*In Algeria, Rozzen again met little resistance, but traders and nomads he met told him Algerian camel riders were to the east, looking for him. This didnt bother Rozzen, he urged his men fowards, through the deserts. One day, Rozzen and his force of some seven hundred cavalrymen, stopped at a well. Slowly the men lowered buckets and drew them up, and then an arrow whizzed through the sky and hit the sand by the well. Rozzen called hsi men to arms, the Algerian camel force, only some two hundred, was attacking. They came from all sides, encircling Rozzen and his men, but after only a short time of fighting, the Algerians were defeated and driven back. Rozzen and his men incurred few causulties. Then, they continued northward, to Algeirs.*

*On the rocky shores of the new contenient, after unloaded his ships, Tibereus and his infantrymen moved over the rocky terrain, Tibereus ordered half of the galleys to go back to Tunis, and the other half broken down and made into buildings. He left some one hundred men back, along with the sailors, to build and manage the town, then he contniued on. Tibereus has some 450 men, with these he marched on into the mainland, he still didnt know where he was, but he would soon find out.*

*It was the begining of a new age in Italy, lower taxes, but a foreign ruler. There was little, if any, change in daily life. The towns were encouraged to send soldiers, make equipment, or donate supplies, some towns did for fear of retrebution, but there was none. In the northern parts of Italy, some Italians decided to move out. Two riders were togather, they had just traversed most of the alps, then they saw something strange.*
"What do you think it is ?"*one of them asked.*
"Liberation force perhaps ?"*the other said.*
"No, they are not armed for fighting, some are, but most merely have picks."*said the one.*
"A mining camp then ? It would make sense."*the other said.*
"A foolish attempt, all thats on this side of the alps is stone, but let them try"*the one said.*
"I dont trust them, first its mining on the northern side, then on the center, and southern side, before long.."*the other rider said.*
"No.... they wont, the alps are to large. Perhaps we should tell our govenor, we could get a reward...."*said one of them*
"Youre ideas NEVER seem to.."
"Never seem to fail, lets go"*with that, the conversation ended. The riders turned around and headed to thier town.*

*In Egypt, there was no resistance for Iban and his forces. Until they got within sight of Cairo. The city looked ill, but it had been fortified beyond belief. The Egyptians were determined to stand and defend thier land. They had amassed some two and a half thousand men, most farmers and fishermen, they were armed with shcythes, harpoons, reed spears, but few good weapons. Unlike the Libyans, and some of thier Egyptian counterparts, the men in Cairo didnt leave the city for battle, therefore taking away the advantage of Ibans cavalry, or so they thought. A frontal assault would be suicide, so Iban waited. There was little wood or stone in the desert, so making siege engines would be difficult, and starving the city would take to much time. So, Iban ordered his men to search for all the wood they could find, and to bring back evrey possible small stone, and return by nightfall. By evening, Iban had a small stock of timber and a good number of small stones. As night fell, Iban told his men to pile up the stones, and put a small piece of wood on it to burn it. The Iban told some of his cavalry to light torches, and then ride off. He told his infantry to begin digging in the sand. The Egytpians couldnt see a thing, but a burning log on a pile of stones, and torches moving away from them. By morning, none of Ibans men could be seen, hoof marks could be seen from some distance, going away. This made the Egyptians curious. They sent a group of fifty men outside the city, they made thier way over the walls by ropes. Then the Egyptians made thier way around the city, only a few cavalrymen could be seen in the distance, but no army. Th Egyptians returned to thier city, and later a group of one hundred went out and charged across the sands, nothing happend, so they returned. It was some time, but a formidable group of five hundred left the city, with light armorment but each men had a pack on his back containing food and supplies. Some of them noticed a strange sound as they were traveling over the sand, but no attention was payed. They continued on. Then, a seeming sand stormed formed soem distance away from the city, at the head of this sandstorm was Iban, behind him were his cavalry forces, kicking up dust and concealing whatever was behind him. The Egyptians quickly fled back to thier city, they reported only some two hundred cavalry, the mood in the city lightened, they thought they were up against thousands of infantry and cavalry, but a report of some two hunded was much less. Then, over a distant dune, Iban led two hundred cavalry down, to where they were the night before, and then he moved back out of sight. The Egyptians thought this was the moment, one and a half thousand Egyptian troops began leavign the city and forming outside the walls, all movement stopped when the sun reflected off something, there was light a glistening riveri n the desert, but it was a mirage the men thought, it faded quickly. Then, the Egyptian force charged across the field, the mirage re appeard, but didnt fade. Iban re appeared, at this time at the head of two hundred cavalry. The Egyptians didnt think about the mirage in the sand, their focus was on the cavalry. Then, they came across the mirage, the Egyptians stoped in their tracks, polished Libyan spears formed the mirage, they were entrenched below the sand, the wood they gatherd was cut into planks and put over thier heads, the source of a strang sound. The Libyans held thier spears close, as to form a mirage of a river, it was all a trap. The Libyan spears cut through unarmoured Egytpian legs, then a flaming arrow was fired as a signal and the rest of Ibans cavalry appeard, the Egyptians quickly tried to rally, but as they did the planks above the Libyan men were thrown back, there was little wood, so men were crammed inside, for evrey Libyan spearmen there was a Kihan blade soldier, they came out and coverd the Libyans as they climbed up the ditches they dug, the cavalry split and began to surround the Egyptians. The Egyptians fought.. for about five minutes, then it was seen as if they didnt flee, they would be trodden under the holves of the cavalry. The gates of Cairo began to open, the Egyptian men fled in panic back to Cairo, they were persued and chopped down by Iban and his cavalry, the archers in Cairo didnt fire for fear of hitting the Egyptians. Ibans infantry charged aswell, they threw hooks and ropes on the walls and began to climb up, the cavalry charged by the Egyptian infantry and into the city, through the open gates. The Egyptians made a stand, the men on the walls faced a mass of Kihan troops, Tunisian, Sicilian and Libyan, coming up, the Kihan troops faced a determined enemy. The fight was long, but in the end the Egyptian troops broke and fled, they were persued by the cavalry. The fights lasted into the night and early hours in the morning, looking in houses and flushing out the defenders. By morning, the city was near emptied, masses of Egyptians were slain, but only a small comparison for the Kihan attackers, though many, many wounded. Due to Egyptian schythes and poles. In the end of the Battle, Iban was triumphant, leaving only the Egyptian city of Alexandria to be conquered. The Libyan forces proved to be more than satisfactory.*

*In Algeria, Rozzen rode on, he met no more resistance, and more and more traders and wanderers were seen moving about, many said Algiers was close.*

*Tibereus had discoverd where he was, the rocky terrain belonged to Spain. He met little resistance, but his progress was slow since he had infantry and the rocky terrain.*

Insok was tired of waiting so he told his armies that the siege begins. The army was lead into Persia and where met by the army of Persia. Insok had 4500 men and the Persians had 3000. The other 500 Insok wanted where in Egypt. The camps leader died of old age and lead them into Egypt they couldn't understand why they where arrested and thrown in jail in the city of Cyro but they suspected it had to do with the fact that the Egyptian soldiers where running around frantically arresting everyone suspicious.
Insok met with the rulers of Persia and got into an argument they turned their backs and cursed eachother. The armies lined up and started the fight with arrows. The Nomads where used to fighting in all ways so they all had at least small bows and they shot at the Persians and blocked with their shields. A few men fell but that was innevitable. Insok mumbled something about soldiers slacking off in training. This went for three volleys and the Persians where failing so they took their shields and marched across the field. The nomadic Arabian army also marched but half of it turned and got on their great horses and also their camels. The Persians where completely unprepared and they charged the infantry and then when the arabian infantry ran just a little bit they turned around and watched the Persians get trampled. Then the Arabian infantry rejoined the fray. The battle was gory and Insok was bloodthirsty he hacked heads cut of arms ripped out hearts and even played dirty and hacked at mens lower areas. The battle ended faster then it began and the Persians had only a few hundred left.
After succesfully taking the Baluchistan plateau as every where they went on that plateau there was nothing but deserted villiges and hamlets. That was until they came to the city of Farah.

*the riders in the Alps quickly rode throug the steep and narrow paths, the going was slow however, but in a short time they would reach a city.*

*In the newly conquered Cairo, soldiers went about, finding survivors and tending the sick. Iban was among his men, working with them. Then, one of his soldiers yelled out.*
"Over here ! quickly !"*he shouted, Iban came over to him.*
"What is it ?"*Iban asked.*
"Looks like a prison, sir"*said the man.*
"Looks like a door with iron slats.."*said Iban.*
"Look inside, sir"*said the man. Iban looked inside, and then drew his schimitar and took a few chops at the door, and then kicked it several times, each time with sizeable splinters falling out, and then the door practically fell in. Iban walked inside and looked around, it seemed the cells were filled to the limit, Iban walked over to a man who looked like some sort of leader.*
"You, why are you here ?"*he asked.*

*In Algeria, Rozzen had discoverd the city of Algiers, it was large and well fortified. It would take a great ammount of time to siege the city. So, Rozzen ordered a flag of truce to be made, under this he rode with only two guards to the city. The Algerian forces didnt open the gates, rather they shouted to each other.*
"Let the master of the city come out, or me enter in"*shouted Rozzen.*
"He is here, you are fine shouting."*said an Algerian soldier, the leader of Algeirs poked his head out over the pallisade.*
"We dont have equal armies, but bloodshed will be equal, come out, that we may duel and save the lives of so many of our men"*said Rozzen.*
"Why should i ? We are defending, you wont dare lay siege to this fortress, its suicide"*said the Algerian leader.*
"Have you not heard ? I fought alongside Octavio, he who united Tunis and coqnuered Sicily. He and his forces have swept the land, Naples fell in but a single bout, Rome shared the same fate. To the east, a general by the name of Iban has passed through Libya without stopping for battle, Cairo fell with but a single blow, Contantanople is in flames, Madrid is ruined, teh great fortresses of Europe and Africa are in flames, i can do the same to Algeries."*said Rozzen, he was bluffing, Madrid hadnt fallen, Egypt hadnt been fully conquered yet, and there was no way any forces could get to Turkey, much less Constananople. Moments later, the gates opened and the leader rode out with two bodyguards. One of Rozzens bodyguards leaned over and whisperd to him.* "Is that true ? about Cairo, and Europe? "*he said quietly.*
"Half of it was. Keep a straight face"*said Rozzen.*
"A duel then"*said Rozzen.*
"Old rules, one weapon, one dagger, no bows."Said the Algerian leader. He rubbed the hilt of his shcimitar and he unsheathed his knife for a moment. Rozzen rubbed the hilt of his schimitar and drew his falchion. The bodyguards rode back a shrot distance and the two men bowed to each other and then they charged at each other. Half way through, both men drew their schimitars. Steel met steel, the two men looked bitter, the fight showed it. Evrey powerfull blow met a block with agility, niether man seemed to gain teh upper hand. The men moved fast, abandonign power for speed, the Algerians looked hopefull, Rozzens men looked on with high morale. The footwork was amazing, two desert warriors clashing in a duel, the victor would take Algeirs, the loser would leave the battlefield, and possibly loose his life. The show of footwork continued until both men but all their strength into one blow, both Schimitars hit the ground, the men jumped back. The ground where they were was stained with blood. Niether man payed attention, both men tossed away tehir schimitars and drew their second weapons. The knife belonging to the Algerian was curved and twisted , it was a wicked looking blade. Rozzens falchion was simple, short and curved. The men clashed again, The Algerian stuck his knife deep into Rozzens robes, Rozzens falchion met the Algerians unarmored chest. The Algerian fell to the ground, he pulled his knife out... it was bloodless. Rozzens falchion dripped a drop of blood in the sand. Rozzen then looked in his robe, there was a perfectly cut hole, barely missing his chest.*
"You win. The city is..yours"*said the Algerian, he fell back. Rozzen raised his hand and moved it fowards. There was suspicion, the Algerian leader was taken back into the city, Rozzen followed, his army did aswell. Rozzen and the Algerian went into a building, the door shut behind them. Mometns later, pyschicians and tribal doctors walked into the building and closed the door. Rozzen emerged some time later.* "Men....you all have been saved this day. Youre leader put his life on the line. His recovery is not guaranteed. As you all know the rules of a duel, and you all know the stakes of this duel. Men, Tunisians, Sicilians, do not make merry youreselves. Take rest. Algerians, youre leader has surrendered, the city and the land of Algeria. Take a rest. Any man of you who wishes to join my army i ask to do so, wages will be paid to you and land given to you if you serve."*said Rozzen, he then went back into the building. Men from both sides conversed and the Kihans followed thier orders. The Algerians sang aloued an old nomadic song, and then dispersed, almost two hundred gathered horses and waited outside the building to join Rozzen and his men.*

The missing leader is named Askiri. Askiri was in the jail waiting for food and it didn't come. There was a lot of really loud noises coming from the outside noone of them where identifiable. One of his soldiers near the door managed to get the key just as the door started being smashed he instantly hid it in his armor.
A great soldier strode strate towards Askiri and demanded to know why he was in the prison.
"First of all we got lost and we where arrested by the egyptians for no apparent reason. We then have been here for a while.

*The riders that were in the alps were able to spot a small town at the foot of the might mountians, they quickly rode down and informed the govenor of what they saw, then another rider was dispatched to Rome to inform the leaders there.*

*Octavio, who had so recently conquered Italy, was quiet and humble in Tunis. Then, he got word of an unconquered island by Italy (RL Corsica). He quickly called his men togather, along with the other one hundred soldiers, and he boarded galleys bound for this island. *

*Iban thought to himself at what the man said.*

*In Algiers, the mood was uneasy. The leader wasnt slain, but rather beaten and surrendered. Some time after the duel, after Rozzens announcement, both men came out of the building, and both men went to thier respective armies, and brought them togather in the middle of the city.*
"Rozzen, You have my pledge of honest allegience. I have told my men that if they wish to fight, they wont be punished. And as we discussed during my bed riddance, i have sent out riders to inform the rest of Algeria to submit."* the Algerian leader said.*
"Thank you. Now, i give all men until sunset to prepare, and then we ride."*said Rozzen. At sunset, the city gates opened and one and a half thousand men rode out. Seven hundred were riders, and eight hundred were infantrymen. Most of the infantry was Algerian, there were some four hundred Algerian archers, along with four hundred melee range troops. Rozzens force, unknown to him, but the largest in North Africa, rode and marched quickly westwards, to Morroco.*

*Tibereus, now knowing where he was, ordered his men quickly into Spains heartland, and to collect all teh water and supplies they could find. Then, the first fortress of Spain was spotted. Its walls were not the largest, nor its size the biggest, but it would make a suitable head quarters. As the troops got closer, they noticed not a man was on the walls, not a whiff of smoke from a fire, and they noticed burn marks on the walls. They slowly approached, the gates were bashed but opened. As Tibereus entered the fortress, on the oppisite side was a breech in the wall. It was apparent this fortress had fallen some time ago and was abandoned. Tibereus didnt waste time. He ordered fifty men to search the castles, four groups of fifty men each to search the countryside, and two hundred men to gather stone and repair the castle. All men were to be back inside the walls by nightfall.*

Soon after Blaski amassed his supporters from Southern Poland, the two armies gathered on a field outside of Krakow.

Gregory's men numbered 3,400, while Blaski had under his command 3,000.

The people of Krakow became restless. Like a stack of dry hay, they could become inflamed at any moment.

As the sun reached it's height in the midday sky, Gregory's infantrymen charged foward, a few cavalry supporting them. They met the pikes and shields of their opponents, and the first wave was soon cut down.

Gregory watched the battle with a face betraying no emotion as the enemy's arrows rained upon his men. He knew he had play out his surprise now.

"Signal the citizens." He said to a captain, who promptly lit a pile of logs with a torch. The wood belched out a great deal of black smoke.

Moments after, Gregroy's men heard a rash of shouting and metal behind the defenders. They could soon tell another force was attacking the surprised defenders from the behind. Blaski's men were nearly surrounded; On side, by Gregory's army, on the other, men of Krakow who had taken up arms.

An hour later, on the field littered with bodies, Gregory's men and the citizens stood victors. The unifiers entered the city amidst great fanfare, like the royal guard of a king.

The town of Cherbourg sleeped peacefully in the early morning twilight. The town was not well defended with a loose stockade surrounding the village.
800 Kaufmanstad warriors rowed their way in giant long boats quietly toward the town.
By the time they had made landfall near the town, the sun had just begun to peak, spreading streaks of purple, red, and orange through the sky. King Erich and his men walked a mile before reaching the town. Stenkill the Younger, Erich's second in command, started the battle by throwing his battle axe at a watchman on the stockade. Thunk! The axe burried itself into the hapless Frenchman's head.
Erich let loose the battle cry "Valhalla!" and Erich and his warrior burst through the gates running through the town, killing any who tried to stand in their way.
By the time the sun had risen fully, Cherbourg was added to the growing Kingdom of Kaufmanstad. In the weeks to come, Kaufmanstaders and their families would move in to farm and claim fully the rest of Normandy between Paris, Cherbourg, and Calais.

"This is mine?" he asked again to those gathered.

"Yes, sire." replied a man with an Eastern accent. A guild of carpetners in Biaylstok made it as a gift to you."

"Never have I seen such a place to sit." He cautiously sat on, and after shifting about for a moment and coming to a position not too foreign to him, he spoke.

"I believe some of you have ideas as to what we do now that our blades rest."

"Hopefully not for long." Said the Eastern man. "We need to expand our domain. I say we march southward on a quest of conquest until we reach the sea. From there, we may expand eastward without interference from those who lie in the west."

The majority of the other advisors gathered, including Bronislaw, nodded or spoke in agreement. This was enough for Gregory.

The army has finally been ammassed and prepared (the army is currently outside of the capitol of Persia, Babylon, which is in Iran) "Prepare for battle" Insok yells as he starts to line up his horde of units wich have now put together siege towers a single batttering ram and three mangonels. He lined the forces outside of the front of the castle deciding that a frontal battle was the best way to come at the citadel. There where little wooden walls proped up to protect archers shooting at the walls and to hide the secret tunnelers who plan on tunneling under the wall and knock out the supports taking down the wall. The siege had begun and everything was going well so Insok signalled for his men to bring in and use the siege engines. Mighty Babylon had gathered a huge force to account for the arabs. They had hoped to gather enough to match the cunning arabs and hopefully defeat them. They though the arabs had around 1,500 men so their force was 2,000 little did they know Insoks forces numbered over 3,500 men from all the other people who have joined them. The Persaian king watched the long siege and few men who slowly fell away from their posts filled with arrows or be completely smacked from the mangonels. He was bored as they where instantly replaced with new soldiers. Then to his horror a tunnel team was succesful and a huge segment of the wall started falling into the dirt making it level enough for the arabs to walk right over the mound of stone. Insok ordered some of his forces to converge on the wall that just fell and to have the rest wait for 1 or 2 more entrances to appear. He then took his blades out from their sheaths and led the charge. The cavalry swarmed the small group of 300 who had been the first to scramble to the defense of the mound. The king ordered a force of men to come to the palace for the final fight he had 1000 men for this and he didn't want them to fall to simple tricks like now a great segment of his city has already fallen. Insok's men had opened up more entrances and now had decimated the few men in the walls and has the palace left to take. He gathered all of his men outside and broke the doors in a frantic charge. The army came into a huge room to find it empty. Insok didn't know where to go for the palace was huge. He split his forces up and sent them out in small groups of ten for each doorway. Finaly his army navigeted the maze to a final chamber that was locked tight. "The throne room." Insok muttered. The door boke upon and it shocked Insok as he expected only a hundred or so guards but there was a whole army in the place and they where all persian immortals. The batlle begin and Insok had to wait for the men in front of him to pan out or die before he could get in on the action. He hacked away with two scimitars in a deadly fury. The immortals for all their worth weren't equipped well. Their sheilds where woven baskets and their armor was poorly crafted. Insok woked his way over to the throne and took a stand ontop of it to show how weak the empire is. The Persian king worked his way over to kill the abomination on his throne and then the rest of the monsters in his palace. Upon arriving at the throne Insok lost one scimitar and engagecd the Persian king. He slashed and the Persian king had a nice buckler which deflected all his attacks and then Insok dodged the kings attacks but it couldn't hold. The King lost his sword and got rid of Insok's other scimitar and had him pinned. He began hitting Insok with the sheild and kicking and punching at him. Insok grabbed the shield and ripped it away he then blocked the oncomming assault. He punched with a right hook hitting the king about the chest. His fist somehow got caught and the king looked stunned like he had been slain. Insok ripped his hand away and the gauntlet on his wrist wich he had forgotten about ripped out the kings heart. After the king fell the immortals had almost totally lost any way so Insok got his scimitars and cleaned them. "The city is ours take all the valuables and burn the city!" Insok yelled at his forces.
