Today the Energy Ministry announced the eventual phasing out of overground Nuclear Reactors in favour of underground ones, being much safer.

Underground or "Closed" nuclear reactors are, as the name suggests, reactors, burried underground, with much more sheilding than regular reactors, thus making sure that little or no radioactive material is released if there was an explosion in the reactor, or above it. If there was a breach, however, there are emergency staff and vehicles, and several large tanks, containing sand and clay.

Very few staff will actually be based underground, with the main control centre above.

The reactors which are to be decomissioned will not be reused. We will therefore be selling them to the international community in compliance with UN resolution 75, and Jonothanian law.

The cost will be 40 000 000 USD, including transport, and Jonothanian officials to make sure the reacttor is run properly, effectivly and legally.

Also the reactor can be installed underground, for an extra 10 000 000 USD, with sheilding for an extra 2.5 million USD.

Jonothana is considering the manufacture of these reactors and other services.
