Lasoria begins massive military buildup...
A Lasorian National News symbol spins on screen, before fading out into a newsroom where anchor Rick Mercer begins speaking about todays biggest story.
"Premier General Daren Kerensky announced today a massive influx of funding to develop and procure new equipment, and to increase the ranks of the Lasorian military. Plans for roughly 40,000 new conscripts to form two new army divisions and multiple air force squadrons were unveiled, in addition to plans released for the construction of new heavy troopships and air transports to increase deployment capabilities. This, combined with a recent announcement to greatly expand the navy, have some people worrying, stating that given the fact that Lasoria is not hostile with anyone, there is no need for a military buildup."
"To further worry everyone, several brigades have been transferred to the nations borders, where new bases are being established, and the navy announced it would be stepping up patrols, and inspecting every ship entering Lasorian waters. To top it all off, more than of the half reserves have been called to duty, and are partaking in wargames and additional training in urban warfare, garrison duty, and desert warfare. The Premier's only response to questions about the decision was that, 'Lasoria must be ready, should the worst come'. We will bring you more as this story develops."
Chellis would love to supply Lasoria with top-notch equipment, we would even be willing to do trades(We take the older/worse equipment, and give large discounts on the new equipment).

We would be honoured to trade with your nation for military equipment, our navy is especially in need of an overhaul, although all facets of our military are in need of better equipment. Might we establish an embassy to further relations and make it easier to negotiate arms deals between us?

We would indeed be glad to create an embassy in your nation, and a Lasorian one in New Pyongyang, our capital. The weakest area of the chellian military, and exports, is navally, so we aren't sure how much we can help there. Ground and air, however, we can help with very much.

"Hey, Jon! Look at this."
The KPM was beckoned to a large screen.
"Lasoria has built up it's military"
"We did that. Whats so bad?"
"The thing is, they don't have any enemies. And they are scaring everybody"
"Whats going on here then?"
He pointed to a smaller screen, showing several soldiers, engaged in what seemed to be a firefight."
"Oh yeah, they've been having wargames, troop buildups and reservist calls."
"Well, what could they be doing?"
"Well, we'll try and gather intel. How much clearence are you gonna give?"
"Surley we can find out without going too far. See, try and hint that if they are doing it for the best then we could give 'em a bit of aid."
"Ok, I'll do that."
The KPM walked back to his desk, and the Intel Officer got to work, giving the go for an operation to find out what on earth the buildup was about.

I can have an envoy on board a transport aircraft and headed towards your nation in two hours. The ambassador will be Colonel Hareem Jobonovsky (OOC: Virtually all Lasorian diplomats, and a good half of the politicians are in the Lasorian military). However, I would like to know if there are any nations near you that are hostile towards you and might try to attack our envoy, if so, I will also deploy our finest fighter pilots as escort. Given our buildup, I would like to begin procuring new equipment as soon as possible, and the sooner negotiations can start, the better (OOC: I'll start up a new thread called Lasoria/Chellis Diplomacy thread). As for your embassy, we will have to construct one for you, but for the time being, our government headquarters, situated in an old regime palace, has large areas that are unused, and are perfect for temporary embassies.

"A build-up, eh?"
"Indeed."
"Well, keep an eye on'em."
"Yes Sir."
In accordance with the military buildup, and our recent support of the Sovereignty of Pie and the associated coalition against Neoma, all Neoman vessels are being seized. All Neoman vessels attempting to flee will be sunk, however, we will rescue all survivors.

Would it be possible to obtain a reason for your troop buildups. If so, you could be eligble for support.

At this time, all we can say is that our military buildup is to ensure that we are able to defend ourselves and to respond any threat we may encounter. However, the coming war with Neoma, while occuring after the buildup, nevertheless provides a good reason for it. If you wish for further information, you will have to wait. However, we do invite you to establish an embassy within Lasoria, and we would like to know if we could set one up in your country.

IDFI Command Centre, IDF High Command, somewhere beneath Nenya,ICEL
"Reporting red flag on nation: Lasoria. Weapons influx noted by media. Evidence: unverifiable. Unusual border-placed troop movements verified with passive MISATmk1 scans. Resolution inferior quality due to cloud cover over Lasoria.
"Recommendations: deploy MISATmk3b to a line-of-sight position at L3 for constant passive surveillance of Lasoria. Suggest allocation of carrier unit to L3 observation position for potential rapid deployment. Inform Executive Council Administrative Affairs Office."
"Acknowledged," the SatOps Supervisor replied. Under new IDFI protocol, a red flag was now directly reported to the supervisor, rather than being routed through one of the SatOps agents first. She pecked at the 'visor control unit with one finger whilst she studied the images from Lasoria absently.
A face flickered into being on the wall in front of him; the image was not two -dimensional, however. The room of the person she had contacted had merged with the bland grey decor of the IDFI Command Centre - Primary Office, meaning that there was now a muted blue wallpaper reaching out across her wall on either side, filtering into the image of the room she gazed into. There is no audible audio, however.
"High Lord Ambassador, I'm surprised that you answer yourself. - I've relayed the information to you now," Supervisor DeLora advised. "The nation in question appears to be taking on an increasingly hostile stance. I've also forwarded Sarah's advisement; she's getting quite adept at figuring which reports need to come my way and which don't, I must say. Not so many misses recently as hits... but I'm not sure if that's good or bad. - Yessir. Understood sir. - Of course, sir. Rightaway, sir. Acknowledged."
The image dissolved, leaving the Supervisor to contemplate... well, the next cup of coffee, mostly. Mmm. Perhaps with a slice of cheese from the nearest restaurant...
DeLora's stomach rumbled, and she slipped from her seat, setting the flag on her terminal that would shunt her workload to the backup for the next five minutes, whilst she ventured out into the High Command Citadel in search of coffee (decaffeinated - caffeine was not allowed inside the Citadel except in minute doses in the decaf coffee)... and cheese.
[OOC: Just to be sure we're ALL clear: everything above this point is SECRET. Thank you.]
