Following years of remaining out of the international spotlight, the Consul of the Republic announced during a live press conference that nearly 300,000 troops* would be deployed to the Eredronian Principalities of Namibia and Botswana in what the government has called a "military restructuring".

In addition, the Consul outlined a reinforcement of nearly 25,000 troops to the Principality of Mauritius, and the expansion of the Mauritius Naval Base to accomodate a second carrier group, if necessary.

The move is seen by many as an attempt by Eredron to expand and improve it's ability to react to situations in both Africa, as well as the Middle East and Asia.

Eredron maintains a military base in the former Principality of Naori, situated in the Pacific near the Phillippines.

*this brings the total to roughly 700,000.

Less than four days after announcing a major military restructuring in Africa, the government today reported that the carrier groups Liberty and Dauntless would be holding naval war exercises off the coast of Namibia in the coming weeks, but stated the programs had been scheduled since last year.

Clouds of dust swirled into the air as the helicopter touched down, obscuring the guards' vision; dark figures could be seen leaving the helicopter, and a moment later a short, slim man appeared, escorted by two taller companions.

The three guards snapped to attention.

The short man paid them little attention, although he returned their salute, and instead walked briskly into the nearby doors. A blast of cool air swept over him as his eyes adjusted to the dim lighting of the Namibian Administrative Center.

A dark marble floor extended in front of him for nearly thirty feet, bearing a black and gold emblem, the Eredron crest, before an imposing desk, with a wall of elevators behind it, brought the plaza to an abrupt end.

"Good afternoon, General Moore," said a brisk voice. Governor Stetz had appeared in a well tailored suit, a warm, jovial smile on his face. He waited for them, then led them onto an elevator, still smiling.

"I can't tell you how...surprised I was when the Consul informed me you had been called back as head of a reactivated Expeditionary Force," the Governor said as the elevator descended to the lower levels.

"Yes, well, maybe this time I'll be able to do my job without bureacrats butchering it," Moore replied with a scowl.

"I might remind the General, he himself had his doubts..."

"No more," Moore replied brusquely."

The conversation ended in cool silence, and remained until the group arrived at a pair of tinted glass doors, which opened widely to admit them after the Governor slid a small credit card-sized device along the side.

The doors closed after they had passed through, then slowly darkened to opaque.

Inside, General Moore introduced his companions to the eight men already gathered in the conference room.

"This is my right hand man and direct Deputy to the Consul, Colonel J.C. Amos," he said, motioning toward his silver-haired companion, "and this is Admiral Jenn, former Governor of Naori and former Head of Division Six; he has been appointed as my liason with our African Principalities. Neither of these men answer to any but myself."

The men were greeted in business-like manner, and soon all were seated, save Moore, who stood at the head of the table, wasting no time to take charge.

"Six days ago," he began, "the Consul made public the movement of 300,000 soldiers to our Principalities here; four days ago, we learned that ENN was about to break with a report of a significant naval force leaving port from Mauritius, bound for Namibia; the Consul was barely able to call a second conference and dismiss the report and the naval movement as insignificant, part of a normal exercise.

Three days ago, the Consul gave me complete oversight and authority over this Operation, and I will not tolerate such leaks."

General Moore ended abruptly, almost as if in midsentence.

"Admiral Jenn will now present you with the general overview of Operation Ocean View."

Bringing global news to you

Less than two weeks after the Eredron Government announced an increase of nearly 300,000 active-duty troops to the African Command(AFCOM), rumors have emerged, supported by high ranking officials within the government, of an Angolan-backed insurgency in north Namibia.

Rumors of a firefight in Ruacana were immediately followed by reports of Eredron military strikes against unknown forces near the Angolan-Namibia border.

No official statement has been released.

Once upon a time long long ago in a far off land there stood an Emperor and he stared down upon all the colonies he controlled. He had a pin and it was placed on Namibia. When he did this he said it was good.

We would just like to remind you that once Namibia was one of our colonies and that one day we will come back for it. That time may not be now but one day it will come.

A sleek, silver logo fades in against a black background, forming the letters ENN, before it transitioned to the lower right-hand corner, a quarter of it's former size, while the camera focused on a middle-aged man seated at a desk.

"Good evening, I'm Richard Sharpe, and this is ENN."

"Military officials both at home and abroad have confirmed that a military campaign is being carried out against an insurgency in north Namibia," Sharpe said in his clear voice. "Nearly twenty rebels have been killed or captured around the city of Ruacana, the center of rebel activities."

Video of soldiers firing from sheltered positions behind crumbling structures and debris appeared.

"No Eredronian casualties have been reported after a series of gunbattles taking place in the northern region of Namibia, although six civilian casualties have been reported.

The insurgency came as a surprise to many in both the military and the government; several ranking officials accuse Angola of instigating and supporting the insurrection, providing the rebels with arms, training and funds.

The Angolan government was not available for comment."

Zarbia has sent demands to the Eredron government to cease all military actions at the Angola-Namibia border. This is not your business, we demand that your forces are taken out of the area. Though this is a problem, Zarbian forces in Angola will do what they can to solve it. The Angolan insurgents will be found, captured, and dealt with.

President Borin Trotzig has given all power in Angola to General Tanner. The territory will now be a military run colony, under the General.

We expect a reply from Eredron soon.

"The Eredron Government shall use whatever action necessary to ensure the safety of the Namibian principality is not endangered. Military action shall continue against insurgents, as well as officials, organizations and governments that provide military or financial support.

Eredron is investigating with great concern evidence outlining an organized and operating relationship between the insurgency, and the Angolan government, now a military dictatorship."

Shortly afterward, the first major ground operation in Africa since the end of the Botswani peacekeeping mission began as eight army divisions, including two armored, rolled north through Ondangwa, in preparation for a coordinated response to the recent attacks on an Eredronian administrative building.

Public Response

"Eredron does not recognize Zarbia's authority to halt, or order to be halted, Eredronian military operations within Namibia; the illegitimate ultimatum delivered by the dictatorial regime of General Tanner is rejected.

Indeed, Zarbia is granted 24 hours to immediately cease it's support of the terroristic insurgency fomenting violence and insurrection in Namibia, against the desire of the people. Also, Zarbia must admit into Angola an Eredronian monitoring team to supervise and oversee this process.

Should Zarbia refuse or fail to bring themselves in compliance with these terms, Eredron will bring complete economic sanctions against all Zarbian territorial holdings, and establish a complete naval and aerial immurement against Angola.

---

Following release of this statement, the carrier group Liberty put forth full speed, moving to take up position at approximately 10 longitude, 15 latitude, roughly parallel with the Angolan-Namibian border.

Ground forces continued to consolidate along the border, with 90,000 troops focused around the city of Ruacana; 60,000 in the region surrounding Oshakati and Ondangwa; and 125,000 stationed or enroute to Rundu. The Caprivi Strip was being reinforced by 35,000 Eredronian troops and 15,000 Namibian Defense Force personnel.

Another fifteen divisions had been ordered into Botswana, to reinforce positions in both the north, as well as along the western and southen borders

There will be no need for an Eredron monitoring team, as Zarbia has never and will never support terrorists. We are angered that you have not complied with our demands and we have alerted the Right Wing Collective of your actions.

President Trotzig has given the order for 500,000 troops to be mobilized to Angola to defend ther colony against Eredron aggression.

General Tanner has passed an immediate law making it compulsory for all black Angolan natives to join the Angolan Militia. This militia will be segregated from all white Zarbians and will help defend the border against Eredron.

With 297 votes for, the Senate passed legislation declaring economic sanctions against the nation of Zarbia, who illegally occupies Angola and provides funds and support for the terrorist insurgents in north Namibia.

The legislation also provided for military readiness, authorizing a naval and aerial patrol to monitor and stop any and all vessels suspected of carrying weapons and military equipment to Angola.

The Liberty carrier group was immediately ordered to alert, with reconnaissance satellites and aircraft being ordered to monitor for inbound naval vessels.

The Republic of Eredron called on the international community to join in condemning Zarbia's denial of freedoms to the Angolan people and for attempting to destabilize the region by fomenting and backing an insurrection.

The Guilds does not recognise Eredron's actions against Zarbia, which has up to now tried to maintain peaceful negotiations with the Eredron Government despite massive provocation. Accordingly the Merchant Guilds offers Zarbia our help and has put on stand-by 6 Legions (300,000 troops total) with accompanying air support (1000 Aircraft). We wish for a quick resolution to this current crisis in so far as Eredron see's sense and doesn't wish to engage.

OOC: 1000 aircraft? BS.

---

The Republic rejects The Merchant Guild's attempt to label Eredron as an aggressor. The Republic is well within its rights to defend against an Angolan-backed uprising seeking to impose their will onto the majority through terroristic attacks. The Republic has not initiated hostilities against Zarbia, who illegally occupies and controls Angola under a military dictatorship. Eredron has directed all military action against the insurgency operating in the northern region of Namibia, seeking to cut off the flow of funds and material from Angola.

Indeed, by openly backing a regime actively working to support these rebels, The Merchant Guilds has shown itself deprived of any concern for peace and stability in Africa.

Eredron's military forces will remain in their positions on land, on sea, and in the air. We will not allow the thug, General Tanner, to both covertly and overtly threaten Namibia, through his support of the insurgency and his attempt to draft all black males into his war machine.

Aircraft Downed; Pilot Missing
Free Press Wire

The tension in Namibia has increased tenfold as reports of a downed Eredronian military aircraft reached the government center at Walvis Bay, prompting the Governor and Namibian Parliament to advise all nonessential diplomats and civilians to leave the principality.

According to flight information gathered by the 7th Air Defense Unit, the aircraft in question, an Apache helicopter, whose pilot's name has not yet been released, was performing aerial reconaissance in north-central Namibia when the pilot reported coming under fire; it is believed that multiple portable SAM launchers, acting in coordination, brought down the helicopter, which crashed approximately forty-five miles north of Oshakati, the center of military operations for the Owambo region.

According to military spokesperson Jane S. Austin, by the time Eredronian response teams had arrived, the pilot was missing from the crash; a search of the area failed to recover him.

The attack is believed to have been carried out at the hands of insurgents operating in the region, supported by Angola and seeking to overthrow the democratic government.

This marks the twenty-fifth Eredronian military casualty.

"Shit boys, there's something going on here.."
"Sir, maybe what the Eredrons have been saying has been true all along.."
"Let's take 'em out."
"Copy that, sir."

The twenty plane squadron circles down to the area, finally realizing that there were insurgents and they were attacking Namibian territory.

"Zarbhun two through ten, follow my lead and launch your sidewinders at the enemy encampment. Eleven through twenty, provide machine gun fire. Over."

The first ten ZF-22's zoom down to the insurgents, firing their sidewinder missiles, while the rest shoot down the rebels with machine gun fire.

The missiles and bullets rain down upon the rebels, causing several casualties and damage.

The words pierced the calm evening like a thunderclap, as the on-duty officer turned abruptly in his seat.

The nervous corporal manning communications spoke hastily into the mike. "Repeat your last messa-"

"We are under attack by hostile forces coming from the north."

The captain grabbed a nearby phone. He waited a moment, until he had heard a distinct click signalling he was connected through a secure line to Namibian Central Command. "General, this is Kavango Regional Headquarters. Kadima has reported enemy forces have begun an assault on the city. No, sir, satellites will not be overhead for another ten minutes. Yes, sir."

He returned the phone to the desk, then reached up toward a red lever, and pulled it down.

At once, a deafening siren rang out.

"Less than thirty minutes ago, Zarbian armor attacked Katima Mulilo, supported by an estimated 7-15,000 infantry. The attack came from Zambia, which is under Zarbian control.

The city itself was only lightly defended, with the bulk of the forces in the region positioned Kongola in Namibia - approximately 50,000 strong, as well as four divisions in northern Botswana, centered in Kasane.

Katima is still holding, although outnumbered."

"Order the Liberty carrier group and our airfields to scramble their fighters - inform the Military Command Staff of the situation, and advise a global alert level of Omega. Bring the entire Regional Forces to alert - the naval base and Strategic Bomber Force in Mauritius, the EEF, everything."

As the nine divisions assigned to defending the Caprivi Strip/northern Botswana area slowly mobilized to move to meet the assault, a signal went out to the MCS in Eredron; within minutes, dozens of transmissions crisscrossed the globe, bringing the Eredron military to Omega status.

Meanwhile, the Governor of the Namibian Principality sent off an urgent diplomatic communique direct to Zarbia, demanding an explanation and immediate end to their hostilities.

Cooperation is not defined by ultimatums demanding a sovereign nation to halt military operations being carried out within it's own borders against a rebellion. Neutrality is not defined by the military aggression into Namibia. Indeed, after carrying out an overt and direct act of war, Zarbia now demands that Eredron accept a "last chance to back off", and places conditions upon withdrawing from Namibia?

Eredron demands an immediate withdrawal of Zarbian military forces, to be completed within ten hours, followed by an official apology and reparation for damage and loss of life inflicted by this illegal attack.

Should Zarbia refuse, Eredron places no limits to the extent we will go to repel this direct assault on our sovereignty.

'The drops been cancelled, Zarbia has backed down' barked the rather breathless Airforce Officer...

The troops signed with relief and some resentment... they had gotten all geared up and ready for nothing... oh well another time another place... as the troops began to file away...

Hours after the city of Kadima fell, Eredronian troops recaptured it as Zarbian forces withdrew, moving north out of Namibia.

F-22Es flew overhead, crisscrossing the skies near the border in case Zarbia reneged on their agreement; dozens of MLRS units had been moved in firing range of Angola and Zambia, along with armor divisions. Eight Virginia attack submarines and two Ohio Ballistic Missile Submarines had split from the main naval force, moving north towards Luanda, prepared to launch a conventional, or if necessary, an unconventional, attack on the Angolan capital and military sites throughout the country, should hostilities recommence.

Message to Eredron.

All Zarbian activity in Namibia has ceased. Whatever insurgents remain are too weak to cause any more major damage. We will leave this incident at that. Good day.

End of Message.

Military forces both in Africa and around the world will remain at alert, until the threat of future Zarbian aggression is lessened.
