A Video Message from Central Director Elliot Schultz:


The United Socialist States of Schultaria Prime, concerned about the state of humanity's pursuit of knowledge in today's overtly militarized world, has authorized a series of international symposiums designed to foster the pursuit of research around the globe. This conference, scheduled for a two week span of time, will cover topics ranging from streamlining immigration procedures for foreign students to the de-militarization of government scientific exploration.

As Schultaria Prime considers the advancement of peaceful scientific development to be blind to ideology, every nation is allowed a delegate at this conference. If a sovereign state has a specific selection of people who would be valuable additions as featured lecturers at this conference, please notify the government of Schultaria Prime at the earliest possible convenience. To promote an atmosphere of peace, we request that you do not bring armed security personnel; however, we will allocate members of the SKC - Otkron (Schultarian Defense Forces - Special Operations) to those nations who are wary of more violent reprisals.

We hope for a great deal of support for this endeavor; and, to this effect, Schultaria Prime would like to host this conference at the Eldaimovey Advanced Research Laboratories for any interested nations. All guests will be given accommodations at the Eldaimovey International Visitor Village, a group of very lavish facilities spread over a 500 acre plot 10 kilometers from the central laboratory complex, and numerous opportunities to visit the nation at large.

Any interested parties should notify the government of Schultaria Prime, care of the Central Scientific Collective of Greater Schultaria Prime."

Schultaria, my ambassador in the Eldaimovey conference from last month (the research meeting RP we were working on) will attend this new conference.

Or is this conference the same one as the one we did last month? My ambassador will still be the Director of the Space Program (I forgot his name lol)

The previous thread was supposed to showcase the next few decades of Schultarian research and provide a legitimate RP basis for some of Schultaria Prime's more exotic technologies. Since there wasn't much interest in that thread (save for Sharina), I'm going to give up the ghost with that particular story.

The Dominion of Raymzonia expresses interest in the sharing of research and ideas with the rest of the global community. To this end, a dozen delegates from the Dominion's scientific community will attend, accompanied, of course, by a small security contingent of Templar agents.

They shall depart for the conference as soon as logistical details are worked out.

A Message from the Central Scientific Collective of Greater Schultaria Prime


We would like to extend our thanks to each and every nation who has professed their interest in this symposium series. The willingness to promote the advancement of more peaceful, civilian-oriented, scientific and technological development is a major concern in today's unstable geopolitical climate, and we are truly impressed by the amount of support we have received thus far.

The University of Schultaria Prime system will provide four keynote speakers in addition to a rather large block of seminars throughout the Eldaimovey Laboratory Complex over the 14 day period. Those nations wishing to send lecturers from outside of Schultaria Prime are requested to have their delegates arrive at least three days in advance of their presentation; the time beforehand will be spent addressing potential technical problems and familiarizing each guest with the general symposium format.

In addition, there will be frequent opportunities to exchange knowledge and tour the nation's sites outside of the symposium grounds. Guests do not have to bring their own source of funds during their stay; all accommodations and needs will be paid for the government of Schultaria Prime without charge.

Samtonia would like to offer the services of Dr. Emmanuel Leders, Associate to the Samtonian Council, to discuss the problems facing non-military research, proliferation of military technology, and how these problems can be overcome.

We are ready to pay his airfare to and from and would like to accept the generous offer of hospitality form the government of Schultaria Prime. Rest assured, Samtonia won't long forget the generosity shown.

A BUMP for more international responses.

(Looks as though I might have to make two conferences, one for demilitarization of government research and another for the general exchange of knowledge; and, there's nothing wrong with that.)

The Raymzonian Lord Minister of Scientific Research would like to provide a contrasting view, stating that research and militarization are unavoidable if all scientific research was funded by the government, as in the Dominion's case.

In "Governments and Scientists," Prof. Kyros's short paper to be submitted to the members of the conference, Kyros enummerates the benefits of pooling both private and government resources in scientific research, and how both government and scientist benefits from the cooperation. As in the case of the highly militarized Dominion, much of the reqsearch is geared towards military application.

A Message from the Central Scientific Collective of Greater Schultaria Prime


Due to the sudden emergence of violent terrorism attacks in the Nations of Praetonia and Granzi, The Central Scientific Collective of Greater Schultaria Prime has decided to postpone the conference for a period of no more than three months. This decision was reached on the grounds that both of these nations contain extremely strong ties to both Schultaria Prime and The Alliance of Pure Research and Engineering States (TAPRES). In the best interests of our guests and featured lecturers, we would like to assure their safety before the symposium is restarted.

All foreign attendees, for their patience, shall receive a severance check of $50,000 for lost research time and canceled appointments. The symposium shall resume as soon as possible.


OOC: This event will start very soon, once the attacks on Granzi and Praetonia have run their course.

We are glad to see that Schultaria Prime is once again, taking a step foward in science, research and development. We would like to send our head of Science, Zan Demage, to the conference, once it is back up, and we'd like to give two seminars at your approval: Quantum Slipstream (our power source) and Sub-space travel.
