Hello, everyone, this is Walter Krankheit of RBNNN with breaking news. Today, President J.L. shocked the nation- and took the world by storm- when he signed a piece of legislation re-legalizing the Roach-Busters Communist Party, which has been illegal for the past 14 years. Moreover, J.L. rehabilitated exiled and imprisoned communists, relaxed censorship of communist and pro-communist literature and newspapers, and paid reparations to the families of communists who were recently killed by the government. Here is an excerpt of President J.L.'s speech:

"The time to hate is passed. It is time we leave the past and embrace the future of a new era of peace, progress, and reconciliation. In spite of my personal ill feelings for the philosophy of communism- a philosophy which the murderers of my family subscribed to- it is time we stop preaching intolerance toward those with whom we are the opposites on the political spectrum. I speak to all communists in Roach-Busters- and the world- when I say this: 'May our past turbulent relations by forgotten, and new relations of cordialty and tolerance be established.' While Roach-Busters will continue to support our allies in protecting themselves from communization, we will not interfere in the sovereign affairs of communist nations nor their friends, and no longer will my government kill, or condone the killing of, communists for the sake of being communists. Let a new era of peace begin today."

The speech was met with resounding applause and the adamant approval of over 98% of RB's citizens, in spite of the staunchly anticommunist attitude of most of its citizens. Will President J.L.'s proposed Roadmap to Reconciliation usher in a new era of peace? Or is it a noble, yet doomed, effort? The whole world will have to watch and find out...

President Zaitsev's eyes narrowed into slits and then suddenly widened. He frantically activated his recorder and sent a secret message to Roach-Busters. It was a truly joyful day.

"Roach-Busters, you have done something that we shall never forget. Ratheia was afraid that Capitalist nations would always persecute Communists and viceaversa, but you took a giant leap today. I myself am very happy at this new development and pray that all other nations follow your example. Only the best for your country, I hope."

The transmission ended and Zaitsev leaned back in his swivel chair. He loved the swivel chair.....

OOC: Yeah, but it wouldnt really make sense if you're looking for reconciliation. Unless you want to have a coup or something.

We could discuss joint sovereignity...or an independent protectorate of both our nations...or something.

President J.L. wept with tears of gratitude upon reading President Zaitsev's message. Perhaps, there could be peace after all...

We in Fortestan applaud this 'Roadmap to Reconciliation'. I would like
to extend my hand in friendship to you and your people and hope that anti
socialist behavior in your nation will not become as destructive as in the
past. In order to improve our economy in Fortestan, we have taken
measures which would cause some to deem me a 'Social Democrat,' rather
than a 'Democratic Socialist.' The Fortestani National Free People's Congress
has passed its own legislation, which would relax laws forbidding official
relations with capitalistic nations, allowing relations with capitalistic nations
that are no longer overtly anti-socialist. Those lawmakers worded it better,
though. I would like to exercise this law first with your nation, and I hope we
can live in relative peace. Indeed do many things come to pass.

We thank you deeply for your support. We strongly desire cordial and friendly relations with your nation as well as all other peaceful and progressive socialist or communist nations in the world. May capitalists and collectivists walk hand and in hand and work together to make our world a better place.

Anagonia

Somewhere in the Capitol Building of the Democratic Communist Republic of Tulran, Fifth Member Republic within the Allied Republics of Anagonia

Premier Noslovich grinned at the report, turning to his Second-In-Command of the Tulranian Military, General Dak. "Comrade Dak, it seems that the Alliance of Anagonia may fall sooner than any of us could forsee."

A good, hardy laugh from the General. "This is excellent. With this many Nations speeking forward of Communism it should keep that pathetic Alliance General Drakomis busy with reports!"

Both laughed with each other for a moment or two, then began to drink some Vodka, just a tad bit for now, before looking over reports from thier Home Republic.

We are happy to see this new approach the government of Roach-Busters. Even though we are a bit discombobulated(sp?) about the speed this plan has come into affect, we none the less do support it. We hope that this will possibly help renew diplomatic relations between our nations.
