Anapest City, Anapest
Alexander Pesta shocked and puzzled the world today as he announced that Anapest would be starting a new government-funded medical research and development program.
"I have realized that we have ignored the problems of disease far too long. My people are dying, and we're not going to stand for it any longer. Our new medical research facilities will be top of the line, the best we can find in the world. In addition we will add 5 'mobile labs' so that specimens can easily be shared between laboratories. I ask other nations around the world to please assist with this endeavor as any advancements we make will benefit everyone the world over."
Many world leaders were confused and even skeptical because of Pesta's history as a harsh dictator.
"Alexander Pesta asked a renowned poet to compose the national anthem and after he was done, he had him shot," said political analyst Solomon Muster. "There is no welfare to speak of, so why would he suddenly change his beliefs to benefit his people?"
"I've always looked out for my citizens, that has been my first and foremost goal," replied Pesta to accusations saying that this was merely a show. "I only want my people to live healthy lives, and this is one way of showing them my good intentions."
