"Where is she.."
The trees had begun to turn color this month. The forest was rife with hues ranging from the most incandescent violets to the most glorious gold and to the most one chilling reds. The trees where constantly providing a gentle fall of leaves to float down to the already crowded earth below, spectacular warm colors dancing through the still autumn air. The undergrowth was still holding its green, for a little while longer that the trees. Thorn bushes and Ivy clawed up at the trees, latched on in an eternal grip.
A small crunch, crunch, crunch, as the Judge made his way into the clearing ahead.
Rolling hills of golden blue wheat and barely stretched out for miles until fading away in the umber foothills of the Appalachian, snow topped peaks brushing against the crystal blue skies. The Forest outlined this clearing in an abrupt halt in its advance towards the mountains, seeming to double back on its march and allow the fields to take over the charge.
A sneer, and the The Third Judge glowered over the expanse in disgust, wading into the grains and grasses.
--
"Where is he.."
She was on the verge of tears, cowering behind one of the twisted trees that plagued this god forsaken labyrinth. The prickers and vines grabbed at her as if Men fighting over a Prostitute, lithely seducing her out from her neat little niche as they attempted to scrape and scorn her. The fields where within sight, glimmering in red and brown waves as the wind scythed through the air, cutting away at the earth.
A whimper, and The Defendant began carefully picking away the claws that wanted to dig into her, wincing at every touch. She stood free now, and looked up through the fading canopy to the sky. She stared blankly for a bit, then fell to the ground with a vacant stare. The sky was no longer blue. It was dancing with green and orange sparks overhead. She wrapped her arms about her knees and shut her eyes tight, tears silently streaming down her cheek.
--
"Found you."
And The Second Judge raised a Colt to her forehead, grinning ever so widely, the rustle through the undergrowth signaling the arrival of the Tribunal.
"Guilty."
][ Defendants wanted to be tried in The Courts. Any takers? ][
