Skeelzania declares war against Coreworlds

Ziad Council Hall, Planet Solomon

The last of the lords filed into their seats, their footsteps drowned out by the hundred conversations that filled the hall. An Attack? Yes, on the Observer Fleet, in Solaries. The Union? No, Coreworlds.

The talking stopped abruptly as the man mounted the podium. Tall with the aquilline nose common in his family, Vladimir Skeelzot I demanded respect of every Principality citizen. Behind him his two children, Prince Dmitri II and Princess Arkady, stood in a rigid military pose. All wore the black-and-red ceremonial uniform of the Fürstentum Schützt. Clearing his throat, Grand Prince Vladimir began to speak.

"Assembled Lords of the Ziad, I have called you here for a most pressing matter. Three days ago, a small fleet under command of Admiral Gar was dispatched to the Solaries border, where a Fedral blockade had recently begun. They were there to keep any Fedral imperialism in check, and hopefully act as a mediating force.

"Four hours ago, the forces of the Empire of Coreworlds attacked the Skeelzanian fleet without provocation. Although Gar brilliantly fought off the attack and escaped with his entire force, the damage was done. 143 men and women of Skeelzania died in the engagement. Let September 30th, 2323 be the date where the Principality of Skeelzania became victim to unbridled agression, but let it not be the date where Skeelzania backed down!

"Lords and Ladies, I hereby call for a Declaration of War between the Principality of Skeelzania and Coreworlds. High Command has already mobolized the military to repel any invasion, but a sword for defence can just as easily be used for offense. Let us carry the war to the people of Coreworlds!"

Near the back of the hall a young lord stood up in his seat, right on que. "10 Million Coreworlders for every Skeelzanian! Let them feel the wrath of the Heirs of Spoot!" The Ziad, always a conservative and xenophobic bunch, took up the battlecry immediately. "Ten million for every death! Ten million for every death!" Eventually the more traditional cry of "Sieg Skeelz!" began, until the Ziad was one shouting mass calling for vegeance against Coreworlds. Vladimir knew he had his Declaration.

OOC: The SKZ Fleet and Army is still mobolizing, so I'll give coreworlds and anyone else a chance to respond.

Rob sat in his chair looking at the report of the declaration of war on Core worlds he said “all right this looks bad issue a general statement to congress requesting a declaration of war” with that a message was sent to congress a few moments later a verdict came in 100 for /50 against war with skeezlina .

Rob sighed as the INN news report rang out on all channels he says “ this is going to be one of the worst wars in the history of this democratic republic “

The Emperor chuckled darkly as he watched the holonews. "So it has finally come to this. Coreworlds and Skeelzania has come to blows. Well, we'll see who comes out on top this time."

In the Imperial Palace Press Room, he made a powerful speech. "My fellow Coredians, you all know by now that the Imperial Republic has come to blows against the odorous nation of Skeelzania. This was much feared, for they are allies of the Orks whom we have crushed. Let me tell you something. We will never allow the Skeelzs to push us aside like the gnats they think we are. We are instead, tigers of the forests, ready to defend our territory, our honor and our security! Let no man think that we'll be weak! I wished that we would not have to fight them, but Force knows that sometimes we would have to fight in order to regain peace.

To all soldiers, sailors, and starfighter pilots, your Emperor orders you to defend your home planets against the aggressors! You will at all times comply with the ancient Geneva Conventions of Earth, and you will not commit Dark actions in the name of justice (torture beyond reasonable methods; BDZ without Emperor's explicit orders, killing of civilians on the ground, etc). In all other cases, go forth, and come home victorious!"

The people cheered, and the press was ignored yet again.

The Senate voted 145-55 in favor of a declaration of war against Skeelzania, but this is merely a political thing.

Grand Admiral Halsey sighed as he watched the newsfeed. He had always known that Skeelzania and elements of the UFP would come to blows sooner or later. It's just that Halsey had hoped to fight alongside with the Skeelzots. But it was not to be, the invasion saw to that quite nicely. His still damaged fleet was in no position to do battle with the coreworlds fleet, even if his fleet did not have more pressing concerns.

As it was, he could merely grumble and squint at the newsfeed.

The Fuhrer sat in the imperial (Publicly known) palace in the capital of the FC known as Schultzheit. He watched along with his political advisors and Viceroy the happenings. He knew before the world did of the conflict and that a war was brewing. But he could not concern himself at the moment, due to concentrating on the conflict between TFU and Solarais. The FC, was the second fleet to engage the Solarais border in battle, and helped TFU push back the border and break down some of the defense. He, know merely an observer and an insurance policy, was delged in a campaign, and unable to do much about this conflict...

The great senate thought as one. With the operations already underway and the Wither already in enemy space there was no turning back. This recent declaration however, was good news to Shadow Tech. A transmission was soon sent to Skeelzanian officials.

"Shadow Tech would like you to know that it supports you in this war. We have already deployed our forces into CoreWorld space and have already begun raids and attacks. I suggest we try and coordinate our assaults as to lessen allied losses. If you do accept, we can have a command outpost setup outside CoreWorld space. We await your reply.

Coreworlds border system of Exante

An unassuming backwater, Exante had never figured high in Skeelzanian planning. But the urge to start the war off on a good foot was overwhelming, and thus plans were drawn up for its annexation.

The massive Skeelzanian fleet burst out of hyperspace several thousand miles from the planet Exante, flooding their sensors with contact hits. Massive Nidhoggs and Typhons cruised menacingly through space, swifter frigates and destroyers screening their advance. Several lumbering transports could be detected in the folds of the fleet.

On the bridge of the SKZ-GC01 Typhon, Grand Admiral Van Cleef looked coldly at the small world framed by the massive red sun. His orders had been brisk and to the point: You are to take the 1st Skeelzanian Battlefleet and strike at the border world of Exante. Eliminate all resitance and seize the planet. Not to difficult. Footsteps sounded behind him, causing the grizzled admiral to turn. It was Paladin Dren, leader of the FS Infantry accompnying Van Cleef's fleet. "Hail, Admiral. I see we have arrived. When do you expect ground operations can begin?"

The Admiral didn't return Dren's small smile. He, like all Navy men, had a natrual distrust of the infantry. "As soon as their defenses are neutralized. Which doesn't look like much. I suggest you go and alert your men."

The smile faded a little, then morphed into a smirk. "Oh, no, their already prepared. I think I'll stay here and watch the show."

Van Cleef shurgged. "As you wish. Designated bombardment ships, prepare to fire." Four Nidhoggs, their weapons already powered up, immediately aquired targets. "Fire." Ion and concentrated plasma fire, as well as missile barrages, streaked towards the planet. Their targets were apparent power plants, fighter bases, and defense installations.

The small, unassuming colony of Exante was suddenly jolted awake by the entrance of the enemy. The few fighters it has rose into the air, only to be swatted down by the enemy forces. Power outages were reported and a government building, as well as two bases was destroyed in the bombardment. No planetary shield rose up. What few troops (a small garrison of bored, young local soldiers) got ready to defend the colony, but mostly the people hoped that they won't be killed by the bombardment and ground troops, and tried to get on with their lives as best they can.

The next stage in the invasion of Coreworlds is a colony called Kyoto, a medium sized colony with a respectable defense screen, then a large and powerful colony called Yorkshire. There, would be the enemy's bane, for it is very well defended.

Grand Cruiser Typhon

The flight crew cheered as the Zig came to a rest. The hatch slid open with a hiss, and Lt. Zaeger stood up on the seat, holding 7 fingers aloft. Skeelzania had its first ace of the war.

Dren watched the hero carried off to the mess, then signaled his own men to follow. They crossed the hectic flight deck and climbed aboard the waiting dropship. Dren, always a hands-on commander, was wearing the standard Uruk Hai power armor worn by all FS ground troops. Clambing his black visor down, he signaled to the pilot. "We're ready."

Thirty minutes later the Sin'gal dropship, with three more in tow, touched down on the outskirts of the main settlement. They had taken fire while coming down, but nothing serious. Dren was the first man out, though he let his subordinates charge past him into the town itself. A loud rumble issued from the main cargo bay, and Dren turned to watch the hulking steel beast lurch forward. The ST-45 Gregor truly was a super battle tank, though it was anything but nimble. Sporting a 180mm plasma gun, it was capable of destroying just about anything. The Paladin let it roll down the ramp, then fell into step besides it.

Meanwhile, the 1st Squad charged into town, led by Sargeant Magorky. Carrying a MK VI Radgun, he burst into the main square, startling the civilains. A bullet richocheted harmlessly off his left shoulder, not even causing him to flinch. He leveled the radgun, setting an old man in his sights. The civilian, expecting what was coming, turned to flee. Magorky simply grinned, and pulled the trigger. A hollow cha-thunk sounded, the man freezing in his tracks. The skin around his eyes and mouth stretched back, as if in surprise, then simply slid off his bones. The rest of his soft tissue followed, liquidated by a 40 rad burst from the Skeelzania's radgun. He worked the pump action, ejecting the depleted Spootonium round. "Lay down your arms, our we will continue to fire!" he broadcasted. Similar demands were made all over the town.

Troops on the ground: 300 FS Infantry, 1 Gregor ST-45, 3 ST-24 Heluenkah.
Losses: None so far

OOC: Some info. Unfortunately I lost the stats to the ST-45 when the forum it was on crashed (always keep a hard copy), but I can supply a picture and give you the weapons.

The ST-45 Gregor Clegane (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v87/Bad_Skeelz/stormsword.jpg)

As you can see, its a real beast of a tank. The main gun is a 180mm plasma gun, and it carries 6 8mm machine guns (1 on each side of the main gun, and two in the top turrets), and 4 20mm cannon in the bottom turrets. That turret cant turn all the way around BTW.

Spootonium: This is a bullflop isotope of plutonium thats highly unstable, used in many SKZ atomic weapons. The radgun works by rapidly accererlating its deterioration and focusing it into a beam, which is obviously strong enough to melt soft tissues. The gun is basically useless against armor, aside from contaminating the tank. Any other questions, please ask. And here is my factbook, which is somewhat out of date but gives you a good idea of what I'm talking about sometimes:

Most citizens actually have blasters to defend themselves from gangs, but the guy who shot a slugthrower was killed horribly. Many threw their weapons down and just went back home, but about 200 managed to make it into the forests with what weaponsand provisions they could carry.

Once the Skeelzanian's realized what was going on, the Gregor began firing plasma rounds into the woods, starting a general conflageration in some areas. However, accurate targeting was hard to acheive, so the crew had no idea if they were actually incinerating the "rebels".

As the Gregor and other tanks continued their herbocide, FS troops (newely reinforced) began to prepare the town for long-term occupation. A general assembly was called in the town square; any who did not leave their homes were beaten and dragged there. Troopers carrying minguns and flak cannon surronded the plaza, daring the populace to try something. Scattered gunfire could be heard in the distance.

Dren stood on the tailgate of a six-wheeled truck, ignoring the men scurrying about him. A table was unloaded, along with a curious device, similar to a supermarket stamper, and a power generator. Two FS clerks seated themselves at the table, not saying a word. Snapping open his visor, Dren addressed the crowd. "People of Exante, it is my pleasure to announce that you are now officially annexed by the Principality of Skeelzania. A prosperous life lies ahead of you, filled with benefits and cheap goods, with no distractions like voting. However, a few things need to be done before you can expirience those benefits." A quick glance at the clerks, then he continued. "You will form a single-file line at this table, and submit to an identification tag. It is quite painless, equal to little more than a paper cut. However, this particular unit only works on humans. If there are any non-humans here, please step up to this vehicle, and we can take you to a more adequet facility."

OOC: I don't know if you only have humans or not, don't really care. I probably won't be able to post again tonight, so just imagine the fleet holding its current position.

There are now 3,000 troops in the town, with more coming down constantly (a Division is 10,000 men). For future reference, only FS divisions have the power armor, regular infantry have less sophisticated combat armor.

Silently glaring at the occupiers, the humans took up the tags, while a few elves, catpeople, kitsunes and aliens went to the vehicles. They had no choice, of course.

From the forests, sporadic bolts of coherent red light (blaster bolts) blazed at whatever troops tried to come near. But it won't last long, for the youths out there are not going to survive the army that is occupying their planet.

OOC: You can grab some of the youths and use them as an example in the town square.

The truck bounced along a ways, taking 20-odd xenos well out of sight of the town. Stopping at the charred landing zone (strangely empty, must be between flights), the FS troopers brusquely ordered the unfortunate Coredians out. Herding them into a small knot, four troopers opened fire with flak cannons. Shards of super-heated metal sliced of limbs and punctured bodies, quickly tearing the group to peices. Thermite grenades were tossed on the corpse-pile, just to make sure they were all dead. The ashes would be scattered by the coming and goings of the dropships. The Skeelzanians clambered back into the truck and drove back to town.

They arrived just in time to see a group of captives brought in. Six youths, bloodied and scorched by their short stay in the woods, were marched into the plaza. By now a crude platform had been erected, with several posts along the back. One by one the rebels were tied to the post, and then administed to by a special Officer of Discipline. The man, recently a serial killer in Skeelzot City's slums, thoroughly enjoyed his work. The first teenager had his right kidney torn out by hand, the second his face smashed off. Moving down the line, the OoD thought up more and more imaginative methods...

Apparently oblvious to the screams issuing from the plaza behind him, Dren concluded his conference with Van Cleef. "Resistance has all but disappered down here, and my men have thoroughly cowed the populace. I'm beaming my full report up now."

The Admiral didn't bother looking at it, he knew what it would contain. "Very well. Solomon informs me some regulars are coming in to replace you, you'll be needed on the front lines I suspect. Until then, continue suppression methods. Don't kill to many though, we need some laborers."

Skeelzania. Although we are war-locked at the moment, we can give you two things. One, our full moral support. Solarais supports this war against Coreworlds. Two, we have decided to dispatch a few unused human marine clones. If you can supply 10 000 men with food, and the occasional replacement weapon, they will help you in thy invasion.

5 Gof Transports (Non-Navy issue, built by private merchants). Each contains
400 support officers (basically workers) and 600 marines.

5 Fyli-B Fighters - These have been dispatched to escort the transports.

1 Medir-X Frigate - This is the leader of the escorts.

Skeelzania. We truly wish we could send more, but ships are hard to come by in these wartorn days. This is our thanks to thy fleet. These men are armed with laser pistols, and all are human clones who did not show an aptitude for fighter piloting. This is also thanks for drawing the enemy away from me. We are currently cloning humans to be fighter pilots, but the few who show no aptitude for such things will be sent to you. (Read: 2500 every RL day, in allotments of 5000)

The Halls filled with the dying murmur of voices, the Council had convened already, and the orders were clear, mobilise the fleet, and put all Skeelzania-Arenumbergian Border stations on high alert.

Patrols were to be doubled, and 12 Fleets placed on the border, with any luck, Skeelzania would get the message.

A lone Commissar recorded a message, her angelic voice emphasising certain words, and sped it off over the interwoven communication networks of the 2 nations.

"By Order of the Commissorial Council, the High Commissar and the Other associated Ministers and Commissars, demand an immeadiate withdrawl of Skeelzanian forces, failure to comply will result in hostile action."

Five Civilized Nations

Outskirts of Coreworlds border system of Exante

The warships of the second largest fleet in the Combined Five Civilized Nations Navy, exited hyperspace one by one. As the impressive armada of over five hundred state-of-the-art warships took up formation once more, it looked menacing to the much smaller Skeelzanian forces. Aboard the bridge of the flagship, a massive brand-new Helepolis Class SuperCarrier, Fleet Admiral Titian von Braun stood angrily, his arms folded behind his back, as he scrutinized the loose formation of the Skeelzanian troops. Standing next to him was Prince Levaris Crusade, his second in command.

"These bastard Skeelzanians..." said Admiral von Braun heatedly, "Declaring war without considering the consequences of such an action. The Skeelzanians are god damn't unraveling the entire galactical political system that the August Emperor has tried to maintain..."

"Admiral, Skeelzanians have always been known for their underhanded methods..." replied Prince Levaris, "The question is how to deal with this current situation. The August Emperor wants an immediate withdrawal of all Skeelzanian forces from Coreworlds territories..."

"We will complete the August Emperor's wish, even if it means force..."

Van Cleef had just sent Dren's report back to Solomon on a packet ship when the 5CN fleet jumped in. He received their ultimatum without reply, ignoring the somewhat anxious looks of his bridge crew. "Maintain shields, but make no hostile action. Let them make the first shot."

Similar procedures were being carried out at the home planet. The Arenumbergian demand had only served to fuel suspicions, not calm the situation. With the bulk of the Navy still mobilizing, it fell to the FS Space Fleet to guard the border. The 1st Guard Fleet was dispatched to the Quixote system, only a few light years from the border with Arenumberg. The remainder stayed at Spoot, overseeing the mobilization.

In fact, the only diplomatic message that Vladimir responded to was the one from Solaries, thanking them for their support.

OOC: Xessmithia: The planet only has a population of 2000, and only one major settlement (thats the impression I got anyway). Besides, with current political developements its unlikely the entire division will be deployed. If and when the main thrust into Coreworlds comes, the FS will be needed on the front line.

Kyoto was alerted to the invasion, and it's defending force was a respectable size:
1 Star Destroyer
1 Star Cruiser
2 Frigates
5 Corvettes
8 Gunships
plus 30 (ISC) and 39 (ISD) fighters, respectively. The other fighters are down for mantainence (normally 36 and 48).
2 Golan Space Defense Satellites (manned; 20 crew).

It also has a theater shield generator and a deadly ion cannon and planetary turbolaser on the ground. One shot from each can cause trouble for a Star Destroyer. A couple more shots, and the aformentioned Destroyer would be completely destroyed (TL) or disabled (IonC).

The 2nd Battle Fleet burst out of hyperspace, bringing the war to yet another Coredian system. Commanded by Admiral Bolton, it was even larger than the one currently parked at Exante. Nearly 30 Nidhoggs let loose with their prow guns, the smaller ships rushing forward to engage the enemy. Six Legion carries began disgorging wave after wave of fightercraft, including Morder torpedo bombers. And in the midst of it all, Admiral Bolton directed the action from the bridge of the Waakzaamheid, another Typhon cruiser.

The captain of the Star Destroyer cursed at the number of ships and weapons bearing down on him. But he ordered retaliation even as shields weakened, and screamed for reinforcements, lots of reinforcements. Even as huge numbers of weapons battered at his shields, turbolasers and ion cannons lanced out at the lead enemy ships, as the Destroyer, Cruiser and escorts fought to keep the planet for as long as possible.

The theatre shields came online, but people didn't know how long it would last (several days but fires will still start in unprotected areas). The 50,000 inhabitants made for their ships or shelter areas so as to run and hide from the enemy bombardment. The 123rd Imperial Regiment is going to have a tough time in defending the planet, as it would likely be outnumbered, too.

Ground forces:

Bolton watched the resistance stiffen, then issued new orders to his fleet. All 28 Nidhoggs, as well as the Typhon, concentrated their fire on the Star Destroyer, pounding it with thousands of gigatons of force altogether. Six Nidhoggs took the time to target the Ion Cannon for a missile barrage, which by now was starting to take its effect. Two frigates had their systems fried, and were subsequently blasted to peices by the enemy turbolasers. Still, the fleet pushed inexonerably forward, as the first wave of 42 torpedo bombers made their attack run.

The Onager blinked into the system, well within covering distance of the Skeelzanian Battle Fleet. Its captain gunned the engines until they were safely within the fleet, all the while watching the huge 5CN fleet. Taking up orbit, a series of dropships began descending on the surface. The ones already at the planet diverted their course, rising up to meet with the large cockroach-like vessel.

The first of the transports touched down at the LZ, scattering a moderate pile of ashes. Dren, standing at the edge of the field, smiled inwardly. A few minutes later the new commander walked over to him, saluted. "Sir Dren, my compliments on your success. Van Cleef breifed me on the situation when we arrived, and you have carried out your duties most thoroughly. I wouldn't be surprised if the Prince had a baroncey waiting for you back home."

The Paladin took a mock-bow. "You flatter me; I am only a simple servant to my Lord. Besides, an estate would be wasted on one such as myself, my ancestors made sure to that." The Drens were one of the most reknown warrior-families in Skeelzania, their grand patriarch serving as Baad Skeelzot's flag-bearer during the Conquest of Solomon. "My men in town are ready to trade places with your own, Colonel, excuse me, Governor Prach."

Prach nodded, then turned to his Company. The men of 45th Infantry Division, I Platoon had fallen into ranks while he was talking, awaiting his orders. "Platoon! Present, arms!" The sound of a hundred SARs snapping into position filled the air. Dren nodded to the military Governor, then proceeded to the transport. He favored the regulars with a salute before leaving.

Two hours later the entire Company had made its way to the town. Prach immediately noticed one thing his predecessor had forgotten: to raise a flag. Aquiring a length of steel piping, he conscripted several passing townsfolk to dig a hole in the middle of town. They were assisted by Skeelzanian digging equipment, and the work went quickly. Within the hour, the black and red banner of Skeelzania snapped smartly in the breeze. 6 Bazks were pressed into the hands of the townsfolk, who were then sent on their ways. Most didn't notice the low hum issusing from the coin, a by-produce of Solomon's radioactive enviroment.

Since he had not been issused a detachment of engineers, Prach was forced to use his own men and whatever civilians were willing to work to setup his prefab base.

OOC: The FS men have been replaced with a single company of Skeelzanian regulars (1000 men). The tanks are gone as well. This particular company has been issued the new Templar armor, which will be going into my factbook shortly (I really should move this stuff from the ESUS boards faster). If you've ever played Empire Earth, its the stuff the guys are wearing near the end of the intro.

Losses: 2 Teutonics, 1 Phobos damage, 36 Zigs, 8 Morders
The Ion Cannon and Planetary Turbolasers crackled with power as they unleashed ship-killing barrages at the enemy fleet, especially targeting the flagships. The smaller laser cannons lit the sky with red and green as they targeted the Nidhoggs and torpedo bombers. The shield continued to hold against the bombardments, though cornfields caught fire. About 200 people died on the planet so far.

The Star Destroyer blew apart spectacularly under the enemy overload, killing all hands, and leaving the Star Cruiser to fight alone. It now has only a single layer of shields, but still it fought, and still it caused enemy ships to die. The fighter squadrons were only at half strength now, and almost all the smaller escorts were destroyed.

Reinforcements are coming within the next ten minutes (next post after yours):
The Super Star Destroyer Steel Blade
A fresh fleet of 20 ISDs
A lot of escorts (30-50)
an Interdictor cruiser
and many fighter squadrons, including a Force-trained one.
Not to mention ground troops if needed.

Unfortunately, that was the only reinforcement the Emperor could send as the Navy is getting stretched as it is. Economics is also starting to play havoc as people on the main worlds started tightening their belts and rationing food and other supplies.

With the destruction of the Star Destroyer, the battlecruiser force concentrated their full fury on the Cruiser. With planetary defenses causing increasing difficulty, a massive missile barrage was ordered from every ship in the fleet. Hundreds of missiles streaked towards the planet, planning to saturate the world with nuclear fire.

Losses: 6 Golgothas, 1 Teutonic, 3 Draco Kais, 1 Phobos, 4 Cerberus, 24 Zigs, 8 Morders. 1 Nidhogg suffering from electrical failure to its missile batteries.

The shields held against the nuclear barrage, but barely as they aren't top-notch shields like planets closer to Juria have. The Ion Cannon was destroyed, though, leaving the planetary turbolasers to try and finish the job.

The Star Cruiser was nearly ready to blow, almost 80% of the ship leaking in hull breaches, though many hundreds of men were chopped up before they could die to the airless vacuum.

"We're coming out of hyperspace, Admiral!" an ensign announced aboard the Steel Blade.

"Very well. Raise shields and open fire once we have reverted!" Admiral O'Neill ordered.

"As ordered!"

Flickers of pseudomotion would catch the attention of any respectable FTL sensor, as first fighters, then corvettes, frigates, and finally Star Destroyers appeared out of hyperspace. Then, the huge arrowhead silhouette of a Super Star Destroyer appeared in the center of the reinforcement fleet.

Immediately after the streaks of stars changed to points of light, colorful and dangerous displays of turbolasers and ion cannons were let loose by the thousands, as a dozen squadrons of fresh fighters and gunships sped ahead to attack.

Red Group (3 X-wing Squadrons) sped ahead with Blue (A-wing) and Green (B-wing) Groups while Orange (another X-wing group) and Brown (E-wing) Groups were ordered to defend the ships as they fired. K-wings were held in reserve in case the B-wings didn't do their jobs, which they will.

Gar cursed as the Coredian fleet emerged on his flank, considerably complicating the situation. Ordering the destroyers and frigates to finish off the crippled cruiser and ground weapons, he had the battlecruisers concentrate fire on the newcomers. Luckily for the Skeelzanian, a flanking manuever was probably the worst thing you could do to a Nidhogg or Typhon, since the bulk of their firepower was concentrated along the sides. At first the long-range exchange of fire got off to a slow start, but as more and more Nidhoggs manuevered into firing position the fusilade increased substanially.

@The Fedral Union

Van Cleef watched the Fedral fleet emerge from hyperspace with interest. While the foolish Terrans had declared war on Skeelzania, no return declaration was forthcoming. The grizzled admiral smiled, recognizing a perfect PR oppurtunity when he saw one. Fedrals once again attack neutral fleet... Leaving the sensor station, he moved to the comms station. "Raise the Civilized fleet, I have a message to deliver..."

"Leader of the Five Civilized Nation's forces in Exante, as you are no doubt aware a sizeable Fedral fleet has emerged on the system outskirts. We have good reason to believe they intend to attack us. May I remind you that you are required to assisst us if such an attack comes, and failure to do so will be brought before an ESUS court. Have a nice day."

That done, Van Cleef checked the status of the planetary forces. The last FS panzers were being loaded: he nixed that, ordering them to remain on the planet under Prach's command. A quick query of his Draco Kais revealed several carried artillery-type mobile suits, which were unneeded in the inital invasion. Those he ordered to be deployed planetside as well.

*** *** *** *** ***

The multiple sonic booms shook the town below, signaling the Draco Kai's return to space. The corvette had carried out a risky "drop" manuevere: entering a planet's atmosphere at highspeed so as to paradrop cargo. This particular cargo was rather large: with a head height of over twenty meters, the Anzino mobile suit was easily the largest ever constructed by Skeelzania. Prach was surprised when the hulking beast didn't pancake, noting the tremendous force exerted by the MS's hoverunits to prevent such an action. Skilled mechanics quickly unhooked the parachute system, allowing the artillery suit to speed off to a firing position. That 680mm cannon could prove useful...

The bulk of the firepower was directed at the Super Star Destroyer, who shrugged off the weaponry with some ease. Of course, there were hull breaches and missing weapons, but the SSD felt them as paper cuts. The other Star Destroyers weren't as lucky, being smaller ships. One was already beginning to spew escape pods before it blew apart, taking an enemy frigate with it. Others started rolling, to take the heat off the shields.

"How are we doing?" The Admiral asked his crew.

"Shields at 90% and falling. Slowly, that is. Minor hull breaches and a few weapons offline."

The Admiral smiled. "Good. Intensify firepower to maximum."

As if the firepower wasn't enough, the Admiral's orders had the weapons officers pushing the firepower levers up to maximum. Now, the turbolasers were larger and brighter, denoting that they're more powerful than the average ones, and these were targeted at not only the enemy battlecruisers, but the flagship as well.

OOC: Just so you know TFU, I don't intend to lose this battle easily. I'm hoping I can deal you a crushing defeat and thus negotiate a peace settlement on my terms.

@TFU Exante

THe Typhon shuddered from a direct hit, even after much of the energy was dissapaited by the Endor armor and hard shielding. Ordering the battlecruisers to continue to engage the main Fedral fleet, Van Cleef directed several destroyers and their frigate screens to cover his fleet's rear. The rugged Phobos and Demios destroyers, design specifically to batter Fedral saucer-heads to peices, changed direction abruptly and smashed into the Fedral flanking force.

By now all fighters had bene launched, the heavily armed and armored Zigs tearing into Fedral formations. Though not as manueverable, ample heavy weaponry made up the difference. The first wave of torpedo bombers had punched through the fighter screen, initating their attack runs at heavy Fedral ships. Tried-and-true fusion torpedoes streaked forward along with experimental AM types, the ship-grade ordance homing in on the vulnerable connecting pylons.

Gar cursed the frigate captain stupid enough to get that close to an enemy ship, those railguns were there for a reason. With his heavy railgun and plasma banks doing little damage to the behemoth SSD, he played his trump card. "All Deimoses, target enemy flagship with your ion cannons."

The few Deimos destroyers responded immediately, swinging hard about to fire at the Steel Blade. Each of these ships mounted two heavy ion cannons in their bow, designed to tear larger cap ships to peices. One ambitious captain even braved the heavy turbolaser fire to bring his ship in close, blasting the tower bridge at point-blank with his full armament. As an engine pod was sheared off by a glancing blow, the vessel pulled out of its run and boosted behind through the enemy fleet.

The ion cannon bolts attacked the shields, fingers of lightning flickering from the bow backwards. Several major turbolaser batteries were forced offline as the ion cannons overloaded their power supplies. Crew ran about frantically, trying to restore power to the batteries so they could fight.

Rear turbolasers targeted the ship that came point-blank, drilling heavy green bolts into it as it passed by. The bridge shields held nicely against the firepower thrown at it, even though some new crewmembers were nervous at the idiot's daring.

"Damned reckless idiot." The admiral cursed even as he watched the rear turbolasers make short work of the destroyer. "Could have been worse though. Someone take out those bastards!"

Compiling, B-wing fighter-bombers and a Victory Star Destroyer fought their way through the enemy fire to send turbolasers (VSD), anti-ship torpedoes and missiles into the enemy destroyers. The SSD moved on, ramming a Phobos destroyer with it's bulk and then it engaged the Typhon flagship itself.

In this event, the muted green glow of its nacelles and the matte black paint scheme pronounce it to have spent some time in a different shipyard from its original fellows. As the damaged Phobos rolled away from the star destroyer, a few angry torpedoes shot out at the Coredian's engines, before the ship itself succumbed to turbolaser fire.

The Skeelzanian admiral watched the Victory Destroyer slip through the outer fleet, though still taking several blasts from the quad-gun ion turrets mounted on each Nidhogg's broadside. "Helm, 'ard to port. All guns, fire as she bears. Torpedo room, prepare volley. And shoot down those damn fighters!" The sluggish cruiser obeyed, slowly turning on its axis. The port broadside rippled one last time, pounding the incoming destroyer with several teratons of energy. "Torpedoes, FIRE." Hatches all across the bow flew open, ejecting 14 massive torpedoes at the enemy destroyer. The crews reloaded frantically, acheiving a manic rate of 9 shots a minute. Gar stood for a moment, watching the fusilade slam into the hapless destroyer, before signalling to comms. "Beam a message to HQ. Request all available reinforcements to Kyoto system, now."

Gideon Station was a flurry of activity as SKZHQ frantically went about the business of winning a war. By now the whole Skeelzanian Combined Fleet was mobilized; the question was where to deploy it. Messages similar to Gar's were arriving from Exante, where van Cleef wrestled with numerically superior fedrals. SKZHQ was forced into a snap decision: van Cleef was more than competent enough to destroy the Fedrals, and ESUS aid had already been requested for that theatre. The Coreworld's fleet at Kyoto had to be crushed, and soon.

The orders went out. Hyperdrives warmed up, then shot their charges into the swirling energy of the void. Nearly 300 vessels were on their way to Kyoto.

The Victory Star Destroyer was finally destroyed, but not before sending one last major volley of turbolasers into the enemy destroyers. But that's not all. The engineers were hard at work to maximize the damage by overloading the reactor, and the destruction of the heavy cruiser caused an explosion that caught the middle of the enemy fleet as a final revenge. The B-wings mostly escaped, 15 out of 24 surviving.
The Super Star Destroyer continued to barrage the enemy flagship with hundreds of turbolasers, ion cannons and anti-ship missiles, even as it lost 12% of engine thrust to the dying Phobos. The shields are holding at 75% and hull breaches were starting to become common on the bow and first few kilometers aft, as ships are rammed and destroyed with impunity.

The rest of the fleet did their best to destroy the enemy fleet, as Star Destroyers and frigates pounded on enemy ships and fighters launched volleys of missiles and torpedoes together at the bridges of various ships before attacking the enemy fighters with their laser cannons.
Hah! The Admiral crowed inwardly. We might just win this battle!

The 1,300 fighters were too, mostly organic and pilotless. They were bing controlled by a Seintient system at an unknown location via STP's. The large ship moved into the outskirts of the battle, several thousand kilometers to the oblique angle of the CoreWorlds vessels...

As The Federal Union moved in, one Aryan Cube type Assimilation Cruiser named Cassius exited altered-space, and entered the protective area of the Fascian fleet. Cassius was one of several actually crew piloted ships, it was needed to be piloted because it was a member of the 14th Assimilation Squad sent out to find and assimilate species and technologies into the Aryan ideals and bio-mechanical properties...

Also, I think I accidentally referred to Bolton as Gar in this RP; if I did, assume I was talking about Bolton. Also, FC and TFU can you list the locations of these two new fleets, it isn't clear.

Exante System

Reports were coming in across the hyperwave, and the situation did not look good. The Kyoto conflict was spiraling out of control, Arenumberg was massing along the border and more Fedral and Fascist ships were inbound. Van Cleef held a breif strategic meeting during the battle, leaving it in the competent hands of his 1st officer. Orders had arrived from Solomon, telling the ships to withdraw: but not the troops. Deploy all available forces planetside will all available supplies. The ship shuddered from another hit, but the admiral seemed unpreturbed. "Alright. Prepare for fighting evacuation, resume drop operations."

Several chaotic minutes followed as transport captains argued with dropship pilots and both argued with van Cleef. Eventually a plan of sorts was worked out: all remaining transports would land and discharge their forces. They could then try to escape or remain on the planet to fight. Most chose to stay.

*** *** *** *** ***

Prach had a logistical nightmare on his hands. Although Dren and most of his division had left before battle was joined, there were still 5000 FS men and 2000 support and naval personnel on the planet who didn't plan on leaving anytime soon. The Skeelzanians now outnumbered the natives 4 to one. While food and ammunition wasn't a problem, housing was. Prach's company was already situated, but barracks had to be thrown up for the newcomers. And all this while preparing the defense of the town...

*** *** *** *** ***

"Last transport has landed, sir."

"Very well. Signal all ships, prepare to jump." As Fedral fire continued to pound the Skeelzanian fleet, engineers powered up their hyperdrives and ejected themselves into hyperpsace. They left behind several thousand dead, including the flaming hulk of a Nidhogg and countless other vessels. The planet was left to the attentions of Fedral infantry.

Losses at Exante: 1 Nidhogg, 23 Golgothas, 8 Teutonics, 11 Draco Kais, 1 Ladon, 2 Phobos, 3 Deimos

OOC: Incase that wasn't clear enough for you TFU, the SKZ fleet is gone from Exante. A holding force still remains on the planet, and thanks to Coreworld's civilians there you can't simply blow it up.

With the enemy ships out of the systems the troop transports had loomed over the planet ,… a few hours later 50 LAAT’s Whooshed down towards the planet , along with fighters and bombers they started combing the air and ground for enemy forces . mean wile general bastidas was on his way down with the troops on one of the assault ships .

He sits on the assaults ship sighing a bit looking at his fellow troops he says “Well boy’s looks like we got what we’ve been waiting for” one of his officers smiled and said “yes sir .. I think this is going to be fun to blow these Skeezs out of the way” Rob smiled and said “neither can I” the assault ships began braking the atmosphere and started to land troops .
About 50,000 troops were slowly marching out in perfect formation of the assault ship including artillery and amour support and additional 5,000 Militia men from the centaur prime 54 militia division were also included. The troops began to march and brake up in to platoons and taking strategic positions around the groups of skeezlina forces artillery began to aim at them.

The artillery battiers opened fire huge green pulses of energy rushed out of them in a steady pace . tanks began to bombard the enemies position as well green and blue pulses of energy rushing out of them. The LAAT gun ships began bombing runs targeting specific fortifications and firing there powerful weaponry. Generals bastidas smirked a bit and sat in his Tank waiting for the Artillery to do its job along with fighters and bombers covering the LATTS

OOC: Just so you know, the Skeelzanians are dug into the city itself, with some artillery in the surronding hills. You keep up the bombardment, your going to have alot of civilian casualties on your hands.

IC:

The salvaged shield generator sparked and whined, but held up to the Fedral bombardment. Laser bolts splashed against its surface, sending ripples through the air. Prach stood next to one of the two Gregor SBTs in the city, watching the impressive display. Around him lay a network of barbed wire, trenches, and sandbags: the Skeelzanians had rapidly transformed the idyllic town into a fortress. Several thousand troops manned the outer outer trenches, simply ducking below the laser fire. They might be flashy and all, but you can't kill a man in a trench with a raygun barrage.

Fifteen miles away, Artillery Officer Alek peered through his binoculars, watching the Fedral troops pile out of their transport. A perfect target. "Harry, give me a T-Nuke at neg 1, pos 24!."

From the cockpit of the Anzino, Harry called back. "Roger, boss!" Closing the hatch, he wrestled with a few levers. The suit's hoverfans began to whine, lifting the massive machine several inchs off the ground. Pushing another lever, Harry turned it towards the specified target. Now to ready the gun...

The 680mm cannon swung up and forward, snapping into positon with tis lower half. The gun had a slight elevation, just enough to drop a shell in the midst of the Fedral deployment area. The shell itself, your standard 50 kiloton tactical nuclear device, rode up on its gantry and slid into the breech. "Fire in the hole!" The Anzino's cannon barked out, lobbing the shell towards the Fedral position.

OOC: Fleet:
Prion - Battle Cruiser x1
Arachnid - Attack Cruiser x50
Aryan Cube - Assimilation Cruiser x1
Spiftire - Heavy Fighters x1,300
Squid - Heavy Fighters x1,300

We are in the Kyoto System, alogn with CoreWorlds fleet.

IC:
The small Fascian fleet began approaching the colony of Kyoto... The fleet broke apart into two seperate squadrons... One was backed with the following:
650 Spitfire Fighters
650 Squid Fighters
15 Arachnid Attack Cruisers.
And the other, which was far from radar range of the Skeezian second fleet, barely able to be picked up evne by the CoreWorlds:
1 Prion; Battle Cruiser
1 Cassius; Assimilation Cruiser
650 Spitfire Fighters
650 Squid Fighters
35 Arachnid Attack Cruisers

The first, battle ready and smaller fleet formed into a triangular formation of waves. First where the first wave of fighters (Spitfire), then Arachnids, then second wave of fighters (Squid) and so forth in pre-set numerical systems. Meanwhile, the second was in the trademark Protectorate Mine formation where the most valuable ships stayed int he center, surrounded by part of the fighter fleet, which was then surrounded by an enourmous, 19,000 KM thick self-replicating cluster minefield, and then the smaller portion of the fighter fleet.

The Central Plexus (Bridge/Admiral) sent out subspace frequencies to all nearby ships, interfering with the communications. Upon the vidi-screens of the Skeezian fleet ships and the comm-systems of the dropships heard a booming voice, and/or say a young man, his lower half completely mechanical, his upper bare yet coated with bio-mechanical implanets and the burst blue coated capilarries, his skull barren sept for wires, implants, and a few stray patches of blonde hair:
Hello Skeelzanian fleet and its commanding officers. On behalf of the UFP and our allies, we wish to announce to you, the ending of existence of your relative species as you know it, Species 4489. Your direct fleet has been selected for immediate assimilation. You will become adept in serving us, or if you are lucky, you will become one of us... Resistance is futile.

As the comm-jacking ceased, everythign drew quite in the system for a few moments.. The temporal system seeming to stay calm and still.. the silence was abrupt as the First fleet slammed through the second Skeez fleet. The Arachnid attack cruisers fired Bio-Molecular Torpedos. The BMT's burst against the shields of the fleet, the temporal flux engines in each Bio-nanitie that was released from the warheads caused a 1.3 millisecond fluxuation spatial anomily, allowing them to 'pass' through the shielding systems of the ship. The nanities began chewing against the hull im massive swarms about the time another wave of Arachnids bombarded the fleet with 010 Particle Torpedos (Omega Molecule Torpedos). These unstable devices ripped apart rifts against the shielding, causing the shockwaves to pass through them via spatial tears into subspace, knocking large waves of tremindous heat against the hulls, charing and rapidly seeming to melt them down.

A wave of Squids all at the same time released a front of gravimetric torpeods... The gravity drives held the torpeods in place for several moments, releasing radiation as the mini-white dwarf formed due to the heavy hydrogen compression taking place. The small synthetic stars blew, casuing azure toned shockwaves to resonate out, tearing away at the ships like flies...

The first waves orbited the planet, keeping true to their triangular formation, and staying out of sight and fire for sometime...

OOC: By the way... Those Omega Molecule Torpedos affect subspace for 1.5 light-years, making warp for all ships in that area immposible, thus you have to travel out of the range before you can engage into hyperspace.

Secondly: The borg knock off: So what if I used a cheesy line from ST: FC? What does it matter? It was meant to have a hint of humor and sarcasm. But if you want to ignore me, because I can back up most of my 'uber' technologies behind some-sort of actualy fact, or theoretical prospect, so be it.

OOC: Ah, here it is.

IC:

"Sir, one of the enemy fleets has disappeared."

Bolton started. "What do you mean, 'disappeared?'"

"Their gone, sir. Cube and squids, all of them."

"What of the ships lost to their fire?"

"No sign of them sir."

Bolton stroked his chin. "Ah, well. Continue the battle." Turning his attention away from the mysterious disappearance, Bolton tried to get repair crews to the prow of his ship. That damnable destroyer had blasted a few of the weapons ports.

A brilliant flash lit the bridge, forcing Bolton to cover his eyes. Ahead of them a Nidhogg had exploded, the whole rear of the vessel blown out like a trick cigar. Emergency reactor dump gone awry most likely. More and more ships in the fleet were reporting damage, and it was becoming increasingly difficult to maintain control over the fleet. Suddenly, alarms screeched out as a fleet was detected exiting hyperspace. Were the Fedrals here- "On screen!"

Bursting out from hyperspace was Skeelzanian Navy, every available ship that could be scraped together from the far reaches of the Principality. Gods, thought Bolton, who was guarding the homesystems? His thoughts were interrupted by the cheering of the bridge crew: in the midst of the fleet were three blocky warships, three kilometers in length with distinctive black-and-gold ship prows. The Skeelzots had left port.

The Skeelzanian fleet had emerged perpindicular to the Coredian one, and several thousand miles to the rear of the first fleet. As more and more ships exited their jump, they began to open fire on the Coredian flank. With few Nidhoggs to form a battle-line with, the fleet chose another favorite Skeelzanian tactic: rush the enemy at full throttle.

Skeelzanian Reinforcements:
25 Cerberus class Corvettes
75 Golgotha class Gunboats
20 Teutonic class Frigates
35 Draco Kai class Corvettes
28 Core class Corvettes
25 Phobos class Destroyers
4 Nidhogg class Battlecruisers
1 Fafnir class Battlecruiser
6 Navarro class Assault Dreadnaughts
5 Legion class Carriers
1 Typhon class Grand Cruiser
3 Skeelzot class Battleships

Losses: 2 Nidhoggs, 14 Golgothas, 4 Teutonics, 5 Draco Kais, 3 Phobos, 9 Cerberus

Prach ducked as the building across the square exploded, its roof blown off by a Fedral laser blast. Civilians ran screaming into the street, engulfed in flames. They were temporarily silenced as the Gregor's gun cracked again, lobbing a sphere of plasma off towards the advancing Fedrals. Automatic fire puncutated the air.

His hand pressed to the side of his helmet, Prach tried to get some idea of what was happening on the front lines. Several madmen had tried to charge the Skeelzanian lines, being met with a hail of gunfire for their efforts. Sharpshooters continued to pick off Fedral troops, even as they struggled through the outer barbed wire and what little minefields were laid in time. FS Minigunners were laying waste to large contingents of Fedrals, though casualties were mounting. Overhead, another shell from the hidden Anzino battery screeched overhead, to explode deep behind Fedral lines.

The unfortunate shield generator gave one last shudder, hiccuped, and burst into flames. Prach stared at it dejectedly. No shelter from enemy artillery, if they had any. These laser bolts had trouble hitting anything not over 20 feet tall. Sighing, Prach checked his gun's ammo and hunkered down in a command trench.

80 lightminutes above the star at the heart of the Kyoto system - that's roughly 10 AU, or 1440 million kilometers - a momentary blurring of probability, a twisting of chance, heralded the arrival of Kanuckistani reinforcments, as the three kilometer bulk of the Thunderhead-class Superfortress KHGV Not Covered Under Warrenty uncerimoniously apeared at the proverbial 'edge' of the system.

Instantly, her weapons and barrier feilds already charged for battle, her matrix of FTL inhibitors began expanding outwards at half the speed of light, racing for their pre-set radius of five light seconds - 1.5 million kilometers. Meanwhile, massivly powerful sensors - aided by drone-mounted FTL sensors at the edge of her FTLi - began scouring the system and all within with enough wattage to melt less capible recivers and even short out unsheilded electronics within a half-million kilometers.

The situation assessed, the ship angled for the contesting fleets, her inertialess drives propelling her swiftly as a broadcast was composed and sent.

"Cordian and allied defenders, this Commodore Paul Harding of the Kanuckistani High Gaurd Vessel Not Covered Under Warrenty; you can not win this day. Withdraw with your ships and your lives while you can; do not squander them in a hopeless endevor.

Your government began this conflict without provocation or just cause, and now your people reap the consiquences of their short-sighted actions - do not follow them blindly as they lead you, your friends and family, foolishly to mutual doom, for it is they who have brought the pain and death and loss of war upon us all. It is they who are our enemies, not you, valient defenders of home and hearth, and they who demand you lay down your lives in their war.

Do not squander your lives in a futile action; return to your leaders and demand peace, if not for your own sakes, than for that of your kin.

"What the hell?" the Admiral asked in dismay. "That's one big fleet!"

"Shields falling faster, sir! Fires reported on our port flank, and a major hull breach at the bow. Hundreds gone! Shields are below 60%!"

"Dammit!" The admiral slammed a fist down. What do we do...

A Star Destroyer, then another blew up under the overwhelming firepower. Fighters were being lost, 10 per minute. The battle has turned in favor of the Skeelzanians.

Then the Kanuckistan ship came in.

Yes. The admiral thought, stroking his beard. Yes, perhaps we shall retreat for now.

A slightly sarcastic note is sent to the ship:
Kanuckistan ship. Your words are wise.
Yes, it seems like a good time to retreat. Thank you very much for your
opinion.

"Signal the retreat!" the Admiral ordered. "Helm, make your way out of here!"

The remaining fleet of 12 Star Destroyers, numerous fighters, escorts and the Steel Blade began to fight their way out of the Kyoto system.

When the first Star Destroyer made it, the SSD sent a message to the enemy flagship, as well as the planet Kyoto.

We'll be back.

The fleet continued to fire parting shots at the enemy as they made their way out of the system in defeat. The Super Star Destroyer was last, it's bulk protecting the other ships as they escaped. The Kyoto system has fallen, but for the planetary defenses and ground troops.

Cheers rose up through every Skeelzanian ships as the Coredians retreated, though Bolton had to admire their execution of it. Fighting withdrawals were always tricky. Dispatching several ships to aid in rescue operations, he prepared to receive the commander of the reinforcements.

The shuttle glided into the Waakzaamheid's hanger bay, coming to a stop on the deck plating. The dual magnetic fields allowed for launching and receiving of smallcraft without complete loss of atmosphere, so Bolton was standing there waiting. Behind him stood 100 Skeelzanian marines at attention. A side door swung down, turning into a staircase. "Present. Arms-" the word nearly choked in Bolton's throat. Stepping out of the Verniian pinnance was the last man he expected to see on the front lines. "My lord-"

Grand Prince Vladimir Skeelzot waved him to silence. "No need to be shocked, my good Admiral. I would have warned you, but the interference from the battle made communications...difficult."

Bolton was still getting over his intial shock. "But, my lord, commanding the Skeelzanian Grand Fleet? In an uncertain battle? If you had been-"

"Then one of my children would have become Prince. Or Princess, now that I think of it. Besides, I see nothing strange. Did not my grand-uncle, Ianos Skeelzot, command the fleet of 15 ships during our nation's first -and victorious- battle? Now, enough prattling. We have a victory to celebrate."

As the Grand Prince and his captains toasted Skeelzania, Spoot, and each other, the invasion of Kyoto commenced. Massive amounts of firepower were now turned against the remaining installations, over coming the defense with brute force. Hundreds of dropships screamed through the atmosphere, dodging S-t-S fire (not always succesfully). Many were forced to make crash landings in fields and neighborhoods, or simply crash. But the troops got down.

In three major Drop Zones surronding the main city, over 6000 Skeelzanian regulars and their equipment had touched down. Mechanized forces raced off to attack the remaining Defense Installations, while others geared up for the assault on the capital.

Exante System

First there were a few. They faded into realspace like spectral demons preparing to devour whatever opposed them. Then more came, surrounding the Federal fleet above the world Exante, their jamming fields impairing all communication over a 4 lightsecond area, as well as impairing all abilities to plot FTL routes. Warships, seven hundred of them, over half of Penguenia’s fleet of one-thousand two-hundred and fifty-one, finally emerged in their total glory.

Every ship that could be spared for this operation was; the rest stayed among the three important Imperial systems. They would be sufficient for all the defending that would never happen before the majority of the vessels returned. Immediately after the final ship entered realspace, a hail was sent to the Federal flagship with a simple message.

ATTENTION: Ships of the Federal Union. I am Grand Admiral Nicholas Myers of Penguenian Temporary Fleet 20013. You will stand down or be destroyed. Any attempt to contact nearby forces or plot FTL routes will be futile, and any emissions detected radiating from your vessels will result in the immediate destruction of said vessel.

Upon confirmation of your surrender, you will be boarded and the most senior official in your fleet present here today will sign a treaty ending the war between Skeelzania and the Federal Union.

After peace is achieved, all Federal personnel will board the Penguenian troop ship Wespe and be returned to the closest inhabited Federal planet. Any Federal forces on the planet will be left to the Skeelzanians to negotiate with. Federal vessels present here on this day will be dismantled and sent to an undecided Federal shipyard where you may do what you will with them.

The enemy withdrawn, the KHGV Not Covered Under Warrenty continued insystem as befor, waited to see if it was a feint, however unlikly.

Silently he passed the note around the table. The conversation quickly died down as all eyes turned to him. The Skeelzots could be a violent and pig-headed family: what would this one do? The Prince calmly pushed back from the table and stood. "Admiral Bolton, if you would be so kind to direct me to the Communication's center."

We would offer our homeworld as a meeting place for the subsequent Talks, yet we fear the enviroment may be hazardous to your health. Do you have another suggestion?

A hurricane whipped up due to the entrance of the Kanuckistani ship as the Governor quickly replied. "We surrender to you, Commodore Harding. All troops will be standing down now."

Orders were given to stop firing, and so the last blaster gun and laser cannon fell dead.
The Kanuckistani would be neutrally welcomed, as they are respected.

Perhaps if we offer our planet of Issus as a meeting place, we would begin the talks. However, your diplomatic ship may have no more than three escorts. We wouldn't want any...unfortunate misunderstandings, would we?

The Secretary of State gets ready for a hop to Issus. Yanosuke Masaki is the Emperor's cousin on his father's side, and has only a bit of Force sensitivity, barely enough to matter. "Well, this is a little tricky," wondered Vladimir aloud. "Who to send?"

One of the captains, commanding a Phobos is he remembered correctly, snapped to attention. "My lord. It is my belief that you should not attend this conference. We have dealt two defeats onto Coreworlds, and they might attempt foul play."

Vladimir frowned. No, he couldn't go to the conference. He had enough diplomacy in his youth. Perhaps he could send Dmitri...no, he wouldn't do. Hopped up on Landraix half the time, seeing colors on the inside of his eyelids. And with van Cleef limping back across the border, he was out of the question. Perhaps..."Bolton, raise Solomon. The old corvette, painted with the gold of the diplomatic corps, arrived at Issus on schedule. Originally of the Draco class, she and many like her had been stripped of their big guns upon that class's retirement and turned into fast envoy carriers. Now her hanger bay was partitoned into suites, kitchens, and storerooms: everything needed to keep Skeelzania's emissaries comfortable abroad.

The golden vessel was escorted by three Draco Kais, her enlarged predecessor. Fighters hung at the ready in their hangers, gun crews on full alert. From the lead frigate, a message was beamed to Coreworld's port authority.

Kyoto is a colony based lightly on Japanese culture and Corellian culture (they have no use for odds, etc). It has a large number of nonhumans, but humans are the largest demographic. By nonhumans I mean nekos, kitsunes, other 'good' demons, half-demons and your random Star Wars alien sentients (Bothans, Twi'leks, Rodian, etc). Technology is what you'd expect on any Star Wars planet (speeders, datapads, Holonet News Network, etc).

Currently, the casualties and damage are relatively light as far as the war went, since there is a relatively powerful deflector shield that went up. It's down now, with your entrance.

People are generally loyal to the Emperor, and however lovely your occupation is, you'll always get a feeling of neutrality or downright anger, especially from the youths. There's a couple of Jedi around to help police keep law and order, too, so you won't have much trouble.

OOC: Alright, time for some background info on Arkady. Shes the older of the two Skeelzot twins by a good ten minutes, but Skeelzanian law makes no mention of female heirs so the throne will pass to her brother, Dmitri. However, he has an unfortunate drug habit which calls his competency into serious question, and many elements in Skeelzania believe Arkady should be heiress. The back of the corvette swung open, revealing what little hangerspace remained. With a gentle ush of its ion drive the black-and-red pinnance drifted away from the ship. Once it was a safe ways away, the pilot opened the throttle and directed his charge down to the planet.

A short time later the smallcraft landed in its designated docking bay. Passive scanners revealed no overt threats, so the hatch swung open. Princess Arkady, dressed in a modified FS uniform (a traditionally all-male branch, requiring certain adjustments to the tunic). She was accompanied by three guards, decked out with mSARs and combat armor. They glanced wearily around the dock, looking for some hidden threat. Arkady didn't show their apprehension. She was confidant she would have observed any trap lain for her, and there weren't any here.

The Princess herself was small for a Skeelzanian, just over six feet tall. She possed the black hair of her father, which she cut short, rendering it a velvet helmet. The aquilline nose of the Skeelzots was also present, though not that pronounced. A full chest and muscled body slightly stretched the uniform, making some of her guards uncomfortable. Not that they would lay a hand on her: even if she wasn't royalty, several men had already had arms broken in practice.

Meanwhile, the Fedral infantry charge surged through a hail of gunfire to collide head on with the FS infantry. Hand-to-hand fighting rapidly ensued, Skeelzanians ripping into Fedrals with miniguns, flak cannons, or their bare hands. One trooper, his left arm blown off by a plasma hit, had enough strength left to get on his feet, grab the nearest Fedral, then smash his head into the clay wall of the trench.

The federal troops continue to pour thousands upon thousands of rounds of fire using there plasma blade Sword to engage enemy troops in close Combat

Tanks and Mech infantry poured in to the city constant streams of fire being emitted from all forces large bombs being drooped on troop consecrations tanks shooting large streams of plasma energy towards the enemy (think uber M1-A2’s )

Another company of soldiers ( only 10,000 lunged at ya) charged with amour backing them up they began to fire constant beams of energy and explosive plasma grandees at the enemy consecrations they made it up to were the other federal troops were and began to pick enemy forces off 500 sharp shooters beamed in to strategic positions and began shooting what ever enemy they could see .

More quantum torpedo began to rain down troops form all sides firing general bastidas was barking orders to Continue fighting and to not let the enemy escape him and his tank lunged forth with troops coming behind shooting every thing they had at what ever cannons were still around and what ever troops there were some of the troops set up heavy Turbo laser gattling guns with that massive amounts of fire from 2 sides opened up thousands upon thousands of bolts of energy poured out of the Turbo lasers

Fedral infantry had by now overrun the outer defenses, grevious casualties being inflicted on both sides in doing so. The remaining Skeelzanians have retreated into the town, where house-to-house fighting has taken over. Avoiding the upper stories, troopers set up miniguns and mowed down enemy infantry rushing down the streets. Exante System – Penguenian Flagship Basroil

Admiral Myers rubbed his chin with his disproportionately slender fingers; the response from the Federals was exactly what he had expected – an arrogant statement which escaped all bounds of human reason. After a few moments of contemplation and drags from his cigar, he called his senior adjutant to his side.

“Ensign, weaken our jamming field just enough to get a clear subspace transmission out to allied headquarters. I want to speak to Lord-Admiral Luminus personally.”

“Aye aye.”

The subspace transmission link was established with allied headquarters successfully within a few minutes. Luminus wouldn’t like the news of the Federal defiance, or the fact that total communications jam was breached before a treaty was signed, but Myers was willing to accept any repercussions for his actions.

+++SOUND ONLY+++

That was all that appeared on the small control screen at the Myers’ command chair.

“Nick, this’d better be real, real good, or your ass is in for another court marshal.”

“Sir, the Federals are replying as expected, and I feel that we shouldn’t fire upon them. We aren’t necessarily enemies, Mikey.”

The communication hiccupped for a second, blared white noise, then returned to it’s normal status.

“Well, that’s fine I suppose. The Coredians have begun peace talks with our Skeelzanian allies. The war will be over pretty soon. Word has it the Coredians may even sign into the big E. Tell the Federals whatever you want, you have permission to withdrawal.”

“All right, Mikey, see ya back on Reach. I think you may still owe me a drink.”

“We’ll see about that, Nick, AllCom out.”

With that the communication was broken, and the jammers brought back up to full power, while the Federals were none the wiser.

Myers retired to his suite for a moment, then emerged and handed his data disk to the adjutant.

“Inform our fleet to return to their normal posts after this message is sent to the Federal fleet. The jammers are going down now, so they can plot their jumps in advance. All captains will be debriefed by holomessage.”

ATTENTION: Federal ships. Word has come from our superiors that a peace is being forged between the Skeelzanians and the Coredians. We trust that you will immediately confirm this for yourselves when we leave the system, then follow suit.

Odd. I'd expected more. How many families have lost a loved one? The poker-faced SecState thought. "We, however, request that you pay for the loss of our colony Exante with a reasonable amount. Also, we have heard reports from survivors indicating that you have murdered the nonhuman population on that colony, about 500 innocents. Nice quote... The SecState thought. "I would assume that your officer would be...ah...biased on that opinion, but yes, I too know that it's being currently contested, so it will take some time to sort out. Will there be anything else?"

"We will do so, if only to keep more people from dying." The SecState said. "But I don't hope for much."

He sighed, wondering if the Imperial Republic could still salvage a reputation if it takes full responsibility for the war, which by accounts in the Solaris Incident, is somewhat justified. Probably, since Skeelzania isn't exactly the most moral of nations in the galaxy. "Then we accept all terms of this peace accord. We gain nothing if we do not."

Kanuckistan
07-10-2004, 05:10
At the edge of the Exante system and beyond, a half dozen passive sensor drones apeared; launched from displacer platforms half a galaxy away. Laid in a spiral radiating outwards, their high-resoloution cameras peering through space, and after a fasion, even time - thanks to the lightspeed delay - focusing their sights upon the contested colony. The reckless Fedral assault is recorded in exquisit detail for later use - the most immediate? One of several conditions that Coreworlds would have to meet to pry Kyoto from Kanuckistani hands.

---------------

Meanwhile, in Kyoto orbit, the Superfortress KHGV Not Covered Under Warrenty has taken up a powered geosync position a thousand kilometers above the largest town; her FTLi blanketing space for half a light hour in all directions, after a communication to the Skeelzanian fleet informing them of the Commodore's intentions a half hour prior to the event.

At the edge of this barrier, a series of vessels had arrived; a massive state-of-the-art medical relif ship, the KCV Hope, followed by the KHGV Hornet's Nest and 2500 power armoured marines within the troop ship's armoured holds - a welcome addition to the 500-strong impromptu occupation force. Last but not least, was the freighter KCV Perseveration, laiden with construction equipment, prefab constructs, and fabber slurry for on-site construction.

Oddly, the occupying forces first order of buisness was hunamitarian relife; even befor the Hope had made orbit, Kanuckistani troops and and Naval officers were coordinating with local officals to assess needs - first medical, then sustinance and shelter, followed by reconstruction.

Soon after, dropships began arriving from the Hope; an entire working hospital within each of the large craft, they set down upon reactionless drives in designated feilds and clearings at the edges of those settlments in hit be bombardment or Skeelzanian langings. Some of the craft even diverted to several of the larger settlments; coordinators had already found that the local medical technology was markedly inferrior(OOC: assuming it's basicly StarWars tech), and with the Hope having been designed to single-handedly care for a quater-million patients at any given time, her crew set about using their surplus capasity to help those in need - that was their calling in life, afterall.

Later, with the Nest's arrival, the faceless space-black powered armour of the Warrenty detachment began being replaced with the newcomers' faceless 'dynamic urban cammo' powered armour; their postings, never numerous, were kept minimal - they worked with the locals here, too, coordinating with police, tho placing their own nearly invisible monitoring devices in public places; a practice carried out here as at home for simple law enforcment, and local police agencies were given access to their feeds for that end.

Shortly there after, the freighter KCV Perseveration made orbit; it's first order of buisness the deployment of no less that five thousand single-volly 'desposible' orbital weapons platforms. As they began maneuvering into their assigned orbits, industrial shuttles began transporting engineers and supplies to the surface - water and food synthisizers, pre-fab buildings for work and shelter, and teams of engineers to decommision the planetary guns; in time, these foolish excuses for an enemy to fire upon the populated surface may be moved into orbit, or recycled to help rebuild, but that would have to wait; the weapons were, however, examined in depth to determin the feasibility of either plan, while others busied themselves restoring interstellar commenications, even setting up free terminals so that locals could contact their friends and family on other worlds, and let them know they were ok.

It was after this, as a new, massive planetary sheild generator was being lowered from orbit to a position farthest from inhabbited areas, that the local inhabbitants began to learn that almost everything that had come - from medical supplies to pre-fab residential housing to food - had been donated from citizens and corperations; that many of those who had come were volenteers. Some things had been sent by the Kanuckistani government - mostly filling gaps overlooked by donators - but by and large, it had been given freely.

Well, I'm not happy with this post, but it's 1am and I already missed a day, so.

You provoked a sensless war with a power to whom you were hardly strong enough to so much as slow down the counter attacks. That's reckless. And to add to the matter, your 'Ally' is bombing the ever-loving shit out of your own civilians in an enemy-occupied colony in an even more reckless attempt to 'liberate' their soon-to-be corpses.

And I know about Bacta; Kanuckistani Bio-Medical Nanite Suspension Tanks can cure any physical ailment in minutes to hours, depending on severity - from a minor fracture to lost limbs to decapitation(provided the brain is still in good shape) to cybernatic augmentation, age-reduction, and genetic-level species-reassignment operations. Viral, Bacterial, and other external-vector orriginating ailments are also readily curible, either by tank immersion like above, or designer pharmasuticals, which can range from drugs or herbs, to nanites, to enginered bacteria or virus', to designer protine(a Kanuckistani specialty), to name the most common methods.

OOC: More nanite do everything tech  . At least it's medical and that is the only really viable use for nanites. Although even then it's limited to basically killing cancer cells. And nanites are very easy to disable and destroy, you better hope your medical ships have good EMP protection, very few magnetic fields, or electric currents in close proximity to your tanks.

And I know it's off topic, I just wanted to say this.

And absoloutly everything Kanuckistani is totally insulated against EMP. The nanites can't be, but the tanks around them are, and the nanites' designs minimise their vulnerability to low-level magnetic feilds as much as possible for an added degree of safty. The surviving Skeelzanians emerged from the rubble, watching the Federals leave in silence. The town had been all but destroyed in the fighting, taking a good portion of the civilian population with it.

Prach stood ontop of an overturned truck, surveying the wreckage. His left hand had been lost to a laser bolt, a rough dressing now covering the wound. Turning to the one surviving clerk, he set about rebuilding the city. "Spread the word. I want all surviving civilians to the main square for a tally."

Oh, and Coreworlds; how large is Kyoto's population? And what's the population's distribution?

IC:
In Exante system, their mission complete, the basket ball-sized drones were ordered to self-destruct; flashbulbs of atomic fire lighting off, billions of kilometers away from Fedral or Skeelzanian eyes; energies equivilent to two and a half tons of TNT immolating the last trace, and leaving not but rapidly expanding clouds of quarks and gluons where each one once sat.

------------

Meanwhile, in Kyoto, things began take on a sense of normalcy; Cordians and Kanuckistani alike starting to settle into routines in the wake of the world's annexation. Most military personel are kept seperated from the population when not on duty, but many civilians amoungst the occupiers choose to make use of the surplus prefab housing; setting up small communities around the KCV Hope's Drop-Hospitals at the edge of the larger Cordian settlments, mixing with the locals in their off hours - an annoyance to the garrison housed onboard the KHGV Hornet's Nest, compelled to assign gaurds to insure the safty of their countrymen.

As the new planetary sheild comes on line, and sensor drones are seeded about the system, the locals come to learn more about the invaders; an open sexuality, not at all taboo, being the most overt, while stories of cultish practices spread upon rumor mills, and more than a few suits of modern armour of varrious designs - sometimes powered - are spotted encasing off-duty workers and volenteers, generally while heading to or from activities well away from civilization with backpacks or duffel bags; the term 'rec armour' heard in association.

IC:

Following the Fedral withdrawal from Exante, elements of the Skeelzanian Navy began returning to the system. The first to arrive were, unsurprisingly, warships of the Teutonic class. A few hours later two Onagers, accompanied by a Phobos destroyer, arrived with some much needed supplies. Landing near the town (renamed to Prachsburg), they disgorged their cargo: thousands of tons of equipment, material and supplies, along with a full company of Skeelzanian Army Engineers.

The SAEs wasted no time: within 24 hours prefab housing units had been erected, replacing the destroyed buildings in the town. Work was being done on the roads, many of which were criss-crossed with trenches and barbed wires. The surviving soldiers, 3500 in all, did some work, but for the most part they kept an eye on the populace.

As a Army half-track rumbled through town, Prach was busy talking with his superiors. General Korogarv, overall commander of Skeelzanian Ground Forces, was congradulating him personally. "Damn fine performance Prach. I don't care what the Feddies spew out, they lost a hell of alot more than 200 guys. Nobody but a Skeelzanian can catch a nuke in his teeth."

"I agree, my lord. What are my orders now?"

"Orders, orders...ah yes. As Planetary Governor you are now bestowed the rank of Baron, given family lands and a seat in the Ziad. Your duty as a Skeelzanian Baron are thus: to oversee your charge, namely Exante, to develop industry on your charge, to defend your charge, and open up your charge to Skeelzanian colonization. FleeCiv tells me the first batch will be arriving in a month."

"Pray, how many colonists are there in this 'batch'?"

"Oh, not that many. A million or therabouts." Prach blanched momentarily. Until now this world had sustained a population of 2000, how were one million Skeelzanians to survive. Korogarv gave a slight smile on-screen. "Don't worry too much about it. A herd of Brahmin is being transported along with them, the terrain seems right. A Synthetic Food Manufacturing Plant will also be constructed. Like I said, watch for them in a month."

Prach thanked his commander and ended the meeting. He had looked over Dren's report on the planetary population -those taggers do more than tag- and it didn't look good for them. Most of the native children had died in the battle, and the chances of a succesful Skeelzanian-Terran offspring were limited. They would probably die out in a few generations, or become so hopelessly inbred they would be exterminated.

In the skies above Exante, one more ship joined the defense fleet. Large and simple in design, the monitor was little more than a moveable gun platform. Six heavy turrets covered the sides, numerous missile launchers at the ready. If the natives tried anything stupid, things would get ugly in a hurry.
