Aztec Lands to develop nuclear power

"Now the way I see it is that it's either green, expensive, and sprawling; or compact, polluting and cheap. Wouldn't it be nice if we had the best of both worlds, well, we can!" claims fission technician Alexei Silk. "Nuclear power is reliable, clean and although it isn't cheap, it won't break the bank. There is a risk of deadly meltdown, but this is relativly small, and the only people who could be against this are anti-nuclear protesters, but what do we care about those tree-hugging hippies?"

The government has decided to agree with this argument.

We will be developing nuclear power. You are free to discuss reactions in this post. Again, we have no desire for nuclear weaponry. We have no access to suitable fuels, and must buy them from other sources in the region.

In other news, we have successfully launched a satellite into orbit.

OOC> Might I make a suggestion..............

Seeing that you are 2-3 weeks old at best, I would suggest that you wait a while before you attempt to become a space-age, nuclear nation. Most of us who ARE space/nuclear enabled have been around quite a while. You need to slowly build your economy/military, etc...

If you try and move too fast, at best you'll be ignored, and at worst you'll be attacked and subjugated.

Xeraph has no problem with you or anyone else wanting to go nuclear.....just take it easy and don't be so anxious. If you would like to ally yourself with us, even on a temporary basis, we would welcome you. You will be under our protection until you feel you can stand on your own.

If you need further info, please reply here or in a TG.

Thanks...............Alaric, King of Xeraph

Today, the Karnatkan PM issued a statement (OOC - He is feeling very opinionated today) declaring his disgust at the rate of which countries are beginning to use nuclear power. Although he has no intention of interfering with any other country, he wishes to register his opinion with the country in question, and hopes that a safer yet productive power source may be discovered.

We would like to send inspectors to verify your no - weapons pledges and also to offer support and advice. To get you started we will send you the first of our "open" decommisioned nuclear reactors, for only 30 Million USD, which can be paid as part of a loan agreement.

This will require the statioing of 3 Eurofighters somewhere, which can be unarmed should you request, for trasport of men and equipment, and patrolling of certain areas.
