After the USA let go of the commonwealth of Puerto Rico in 2017, Puerto Rico had less then four (4) years. of happiness. On November 7th, 2021, Communist militants from Central America seized the Capital of Puerto Rico, San Juan. The militants executed neither civilians nor any government officials during the takeover. The militants established a Socialist regime, which was benevolent and treated its citizens with the most respect possible. The regime had no official leader, instead had a "Senate" made up of thirteen (13) elected members.
The Socialist Regime lasted nine (9) years. On February 19th, 2030, unidentified assassins, rumored to be from the United States, assassinated eight (8) of the thirteen (13) "Senate" members. The remaining five (5) were kidnapped and never seen again. The Socialist Republic of Puerto Rico was in complete anarchy for two (2) years. During this time, an absurd amount of factions formed in Puerto Rico. These Factions, which ranged from Fascists to Stalinists, ravaged the nation. Among the numerous factions in Puerto Rico at this time, the two largest were the Imperial Democratic Faction and the Socialist Democratic Faction.
The leader of the Imperial Democratic Faction, Edwin Fernandez the 4th, offered an alliance to the leader of the Socialist Democratic Faction, Juan Ramirez. It was an odd alliance. Juan's faction was largely Communist, while Fernandez's faction was an extreme Capitalist faction. The goal: to stabilize Puerto Rico so that elections could be held within three (3) years. Both men loved Puerto Rico and wanted Puerto Rico to be free and prosperous. Both knew that if conditions stayed the same or worsened, it would be a matter of time before the island lost its independence once again.
Together, the two factions stabilized the Puerto Rico in two (2) years. On April 5th 2032, elections were finally held in Puerto Rico. Edwin Fernandez of the Imperial Party vs. Juan Ramirez of the Socialist Democratic Party.
Juan Ramirez won by a landslide, 84% of the popular vote. Juan Ramirez set up the old socialist economic platform, which reigned from the years 2021 to 2030. Angered, Fernandez boarded a plane and flew to the land of his Great Great Great grandmother, the nation of El Salvador. At this time, El Salvador was largely Capitalist and the most advanced nation in Central America.
Fernandez met up with a powerful Mafia in El Salvador. The El Salvadoran Mafia agreed to lend Fernandez massive arms in return that if Fernandez seized control of Puerto Rico, he would allow the Mafia land to build casinos, brothels, etc.
On April 4th, 2031 almost a year after the elections, Fernandez and his party members nearing one (1) Million men and Capitalist guerillas from Central America made their way into Puerto Rico’s borders. Once situated and ready, the men marched into San Juan. Trying not to harm many civilians, Fernandez went into the President’s Palace and captured his old friend Juan. Fernandez unloaded an entire clip into Juan's body with five (5) shots going into Juan’s head.
After numerous uncomfortable and odd months, the Puerto Rican military agreed to swear allegiance to Edwin Fernandez and the Imperial Party. There was still one more obstacle before Edwin Fernandez. The Socialist Senate. Fernandez’s army stormed the Senate, which was still trying to establish Power after Juan’s assassination. Fernandez walked into the building and proposed a bill, which would give himself complete absolute Authority over Puerto Rico.
He told members of the senate, "Either you will vote for this, or I will take your lives. It's your choice. I can assume absolute power by force or I can do it legally. I prefer legally and you should as well. That path will have your lives spared." As Fernandez finished the sentence, one senate member stood up and swore he would refuse to sign. He was shot dead as soon as he finished the sentence.
"One (1) of the twenty (20) senators are now dead. I need fifteen (15) of you to sign to get the needed 3/4ths to pass this Bill." The remaining 19 Senators without hesitation agreed to sign Fernandez's bill. That day, the Capitalist Regime of Imperial Puerto Rico was born.
With Fernandez only needing his signature on a bill to turn it into a law within 24 hours, Fernandez exercised his power. His first act was to ban all political parties except the Imperial Party. The leaders of the numerous other parties were arrested and executed without trial. His second act was to arrest all high-ranking members of the Socialist Democratic Party and have them executed without trial. His third act was to indefinitely suspend Elections in Puerto Rico. His fourth and final act of the moment was to declare martial law.
After his numerous Executive orders, he rid Puerto Rico of the Socialist Economic system and allowed for private businesses and property. Regulation on business was extremely low, even more so than the United States of America.
Edwin Fernandez then signed for a bill that would lower the conscription age to 15 yrs. Fernandez then signed another bill, which called for the Military Draft. Lightly armored without advanced equipment, Fernandez ordered for the invasion of the Dominican Republic. The Dominican Republic, still ravaged by storms and a corrupt government, was still a third world country with a minor military. The country collapsed and fell to Fernandez’s forces within three (3) months. Following the fall of the Dominican Republic, Fernandez’s forces invaded and conquered Haiti.
After the fall of Haiti, troops remained in these now annexed lands to quell rebellion and to stabilize the countries. In the meanwhile, Puerto Rico’s capitalist economy was flourishing and had numerous booms. The GDP Per Capita was around 26,000. More research and money was put into the Military. Within three 3 years, the Puerto Rican military was advanced and well equipped. Due to the population booms in Puerto Rico, the country had a bright future ahead of it.
After many years, the country’s territories now stretch from the entire Carribean, from all countries between Mexico and Columbia, and the northern portion of South America.
Imperial Puerto Rico has since became a superpower on the international stage.
