I agree totally (to thwe first post, not the spoon and bunny :P)
I think all godmodding and weird random stuff should be confined to a specific thread or two for people to get it out of their systems.
What the #### are you talking about. Zuzubar is confused.
Zuzubar 2003-???????
Hmph, I didn't know that all people that were new to something were also required to be complete idiots for the first year.
I've only been on here for about a month (I think) and I understood most of the "rules" of NS RPing. Then again, I'm a big forum RPer so that could be the reason I caught on so quickly.
Also your biggest problem doesn't seem to be the newbies, as it is your "vetern" players. Namely Hataria and Sephiroth.
heh... they are still newbies... as are you all :-)

Hataria a vetern player? lol, ya, that's a joke... but, anyway... Note the difference between "n00b" and newbie...
n00b - Someone who isn't necessarly new, but just RP's like sh*t or godmods to h#ll and back...
Newbie - Someone who is new, but is respectable in RPing.
There's a BIG diff... also, I wouldn't call anyone who is newer then 6 months very old... and I'd also consider anyone who started in the past 30-45 days as newbie...
But, yes, new nations! Please do everyone a favor and don't go around declaring war on everyone... it wastes bandwidth on the forums, which means taking up space and slowing it down pretty much...
And that makes ppl like me who have to be the "party poopers" and go Modalert... Which means you could be deleted and banned, or your threads locked up...
Ok, enough ranting, back to the RP's...
My feeling is it is the way that you rp that should deturnmen* if you are old or not. I know I am not making sence but it makes perfectly good sence to me in Scottworld.

Well, by the definitions of this game I am a newbie..... but then again, I have been involved in roleplaying games since 1977, and was in Model UN in HS (about the same time I started roleplaying) and have run lord knows how many roleplaying adventurers...
Now this is a pretty free flowing system... essentially the only rules seem to be what is logical, rational, and reasonable....
However, I have noticed a number of nations seem to believe time and space have no meaning..... millions of tons of equipment, hundred of thousands of men, and tens of millions of tons of supplies can be whisked across the world in a single "I have invaded you with ten zillion troops etc" declarative phrase...
tsk, tsk
Technology requires no economic base, high tech can be acquired with amazing ease, and by golly, nuking someone (or for that matter, declaring war) is no big deal and doesn't cause anguished decision makers to agonize and delay fatal decisions...
which basically means many players have no idea how humanity works.. which I guess since many are teens or barely post teens, isn't a big surprise...
of course many of these same players can't seem to realize that their nation would have long since collapsed in civil disorder when their economies reach a certain point, or into nasty revolution when the oppression gets bad enough or that in the real world... a dangerous nation creates an alliance against for survivals sake...
in my opinion.... these players aren't guilty of being newbies, just guilty of not understanding the difference between reality and fantasy...
I have also seen some excellent roleplaying, by nations that clearly understand everything I have said already.. and for that, I appreciate them all.
But it is fun to mess with the silly ones...... ;)

Don't worry about the n00bs that are flooding this forum. It always happens ,and will continue to happen forever. It comes and goes though in a cycle of sort. I think right now we are in a low part of the cycle, since the only n00b I see on this forum is Hataria.

Unlike the rest of you, by every count I am a newbie to NS. In fact, I'm not sure if I've posted on these forums more than once. However, I must say that a flood of "n00bs" is normal no matter where you go. I'm sure you were all considered "n00bs" sometime, somewhere. It all gets better with experience. Let the Mods take care of the hopeless ones.
Anyway, if you hate these "n00bs" so much, why not form a coalition? I'm sure a combined effort between you all will do a lot more good than singular crusades. In fact, the only way I can see one of them beating a coalition like that is through God-Modding, which can get them in some major hot water. So, teach them their lesson the accepted way. ;)

In a way, I am working on that now... trying to see if I can create an alliance system .... I will see how it goes

I agree with Nowhere, while I may be considered a newbi here, i am no stranger to message boards, and have previously engaged in "n00b cleaning" before.
Its not easy, if you attempt to scare people off, try doing fairly, and i think that maybe the decent people will stop acting so n00bish, and, as for the hopeless ones, burmn them into the ground, or, get the mods aware of their rudeness.
well the problem is the n00bs are boring to RP with... therefore the alliances generally crumble into fighting each other cause it is all the good players who become bored as they are unable to fight each other...
The other option is to do what i do often... make a sub board on proboards or invision and invite ppl to play...

OMG ITS ILHAM!111
I remember you :P
Well by definition I am a 'Newbie' I'm still rather confused by parts of this board, but i will figure it out....eventually......
During then i wouldn't go around screaming "Die!! I Declare War On Blah Blah Blah!" With my practically non-existant army.........i only have 5 soldiers armed with bomb-bags and super-soakers.
Anyway I've been on many rpg boards and the nOOb thingy is quite......common, usually i exercute them straight-away........usually by banning.....

Fucking idiots.
I am a small nation with only 6 million people i am considered a newbie i dont going around saying "Well my guys had force fields around them" i do none of that shit because i have a very small army of 20 tanks and 600 infrantry and i known i will get my ass handed to me by u veterans out there lol
We of the Godulan Governate know very well that we are but a small and insignificant nation amongst a cloud of veritable giants.
That being said we've been spending the past few years working diligently in the field of Robotics Research, so that we may one day improve our... "Manpower" situation, and we hope eventually to break into electromagnetism, metallurgy, and gravitonics as well... but the latter is a LONG way off.
The Twelfth One assures us he won't attack anybody... yet.
Keep in mind that the word "Yet" was immediately followed by a disturbing amount of giggling, which led to disconcerted shifts in the chairs of the other Harrumphmeisters...
But... barring any sudden fits of megalomania from The Twelfth One, you'll hear no "OMG I PWNZOR J00 WITH... UM... MONTY PYTHON DEATH RABBITZ0RZ!" from us!

A truely idiotic idea for the following reasons:
1) We dont want to kill off all the new players to NS. Hataria is unhelpable, but I have seen n00bs become newbies and finally proper players.
2) N00bs will, by defenition, godmod their defences. If they didnt then they would not be n00bs, but newbs. Therefore all it would achieve would be wasting the time of the members of this 'anti-n00b alliance'
3) Note how only people with relatively few posts are discussing it...
