Over the past few years, the Gaian System, where Siesatians now call home, has been home to 12 planets. 6 uninhabbitable, and 6 habbitable. 4 have already been colonized by us, but two remain. One is dreadfully close to the sun, and the other, seems to have been home at one point, to a race of advanced, space faring people.
Around the planet is a tremendous minefield, the mines technology is currently under review, but they are incredibley powerful, and lock onto a ship. We have just recently found a way to get through.
We are looking for other nations to share in this discovery, each country will send one team, consisting of 20 people, and pack accordingly. There are waterways, wreakage, and roads. Huge tanks are prohibbited.
We will set up base camp at an area in the center of the biggest city, which has been nicknamed the Forretress, because of the obsticles placed around all the enterences to it.
Ok, I have picked out 5 of the best of you.

OOC: I would suggest that you post the link to this thread in your old one. I kept expecting you to tell us where to go, before I started to search.
The Mekantan Strikeship Xarormararkath defolded in system, scanning the area for threats. It noticed the minefield, and the other ships, then focused on the planet before sitting in space, watching the ships from the other nations closely, launching a fighter screen of Akujin.
-OOC EDIT-
Oh yes... And seeing as you're an ESUS nation now...
SPELL MY NATION RIGHT OR I'LL GET A MOTION PASSED TO CHANGE YOUR TITLE TO "OFFICIAL ESUS RAPEBITCH" LIKE I DID TO JJR!!!

The Jumpship departed the system as the New Exodus dropship burned towards the planet and its cloud of space mines.
"Geez! Look at all those huge ships!" Dustin exclaimed as he glanced at the sensors.
"And those mines!" Hambrabi exclaimed.
Capt. Lane spoke over her shoulder to the team-members, while keeping the ship on course, "So? We're used to being the under-dogs. We were trained to do more with less."
She reached forward and activated the comm. unit, "This is Captain Lane, leader of the New Exodus Expeditionary Team, reporting our arrival and readiness."
Dustin chuckled, "NEET. Leave it to the Commander to come up with a crazy acronym."

The Relient sat in wait next to the other ships. There where still two more to get there. They Radiod the ships.
"All ships stay at least 1000 KM away from the mines, and power shields to full, we lost 12 ships before now."

"So. Anyone up for a game of Risk?" Dustin asked.
"Hopefully," Capt. Lane said, "we won't be waiting that long."
They floated outside the mine field for another hour, the silence only broken by Hambrabi's occasional complaining.
"How about we turn on some music," one of the soldiers suggested, and popped a disc into the data-port. The not-so-soothing sounds of Abba filled the cramped cabin, and the tensions reached their peak. As the crew glared at the tasteless soldier, Dustin drew his PEP pistol and discharged the energy pulse into the console. He became the new target of the crew's unhappiness.
"You shot the main computer," Capt. Lane said impassionately.
"How are we going to land?" Hambrabi asked.
New Exodus
11-10-2004, 05:32
With the main computer offline, they had no contact with the other vessels. Worse, they had no maneuvering capability, and would eventually be pulled into the minefield. Tension was high as the crew debated how to fix the problem.
"We'll have to get Dr. Singh," said Sarah. "Only he has this kind of experience, which, when I think about it, was poor planning for a mission."
The semi-senile old genius was brought up from his bunk, and directed to the computer. "Can you fix it" Capt. Lane asked. After examining the console carefully, Dr. Singh nodded. "I can easily fix this, in no more than a half hour."
The crew breathed a sigh of relief. "All I need is a replacement." The palpable relief vanished from the cabin, and hostilities resumed. Dustin, eager to regain some measure of civility, asked if there were any other options. "Oh my, yes," Dr. Singh said serenly, "We could signal to the other vessels that we need assistance, or we could jury-rig a new computer out of parts we brought with us, or we could even surgically graft a mind/machine interface into one of the crewmembers, then plug him or her into the ship." The last prospect made them decidedly uneasy, and the second would take far too long.
"Sergeant Knowles, get suited up. We are going to launch you towards the nearest vessel, where you will acquire assistance for us." Capt. Lane's voice was hard.
"Hey! Why do I have to go? The nearest ship is a couple thousand miles away, and our suits only have short-range thrust capabilities. It'd take me almost an hour to get within ra..." The implied demotion in Sarah's words sank in, and Dustin let himself trail off. Oh well, he thought, Maybe the other teams will show up, and one of them can help us.

Strangly enoguh, a Tsurani Transport came out of The Rift just as this was happening. Commander Deleware Saw the ship and almost fell out of his seat laughing. He Quickly searched the minds on the ship, and apon finding Lane, Actually did fall out of his chair. He lay on the floor for about three minutes, before he decided to give lane a Scare. He made a quick Psykic connection, and then in the most powerful voice he could, yelled the following.
-Hello Lane, looks like we will be working together again. Now you shall see what the Tsurani are. How are you?- Behind him 16 Tsurani Stood, with Two Alethrians and a new Experiment the Queen had produced. The Tsuani looked like Children, and when paired with the 10 foot tall Alethrias it seemed strange the Latter where the servents. The Experiment made Del Uncomftible, as he had over heard Some Tsurani saying it had a more fraglie non link to the Overmind.
OOC Just to let you know, Alethrians have exactly the same armour, weapons ect that Predators do on Alien vs Predator, and the new Experiment is the Aliens from the same movie. And yes, I have seen it. Dman good to.

Capt. Lane nearly fell out of her chair as the powerful telepathic voice entered her mind. Struggling to regain her composure, she angrily thought back at Del, and hoped he would hear it, Thanks for the warning!! Geez! She calmed down a bit more, Umm, we could use your help, though.
The crew stared at her, but she soon turned to Dustin. "The Tsurani have just saved your...," She stopped herself, "...butt." The look of happiness on Dustin's face brightened the cabin considerably.

The Siesatian ships moved closer to the assembled ships.
"This is Fedrick Lanceborn, leader of the Siesatian team, we are heading in now, we can not wait for the others. Follow our ship to the dot, any deviation could cause a mine to detonate."
And with that the ship began to move into the minefield.

"So, what are we waiting for?"
"I have no idea. It seems that we might need to just head on back to New Exodus."
"But we haven't accomplished anything yet!"
"Sometimes that's just how it goes."
"But... But that isn't fair!"
*sigh* "Please calm down. Life isn't always fair."
Dustin finally relented, but looked pleadingly at Captain Lane, "Could we wait just a little longer? I'm sure the Siesatians would appreciate some assistance in exploring the planet, and it isn't going to explore itself."
"Fine, but not too much longer. I'm tired of these rations."

The Siesatian vessel hit the upper atmosphere, and began to descend rapidly, it soon hit the troposphere, and the repulsors engaged, allowing it to begin slowing down. Soon, a tremendous pile of rubble was seen below the ships. No turning back now....

"What is that stuff on the ground?"
"No idea, but it looks like a jumble of rock, possibly metal."
"What about sensors? Aren't you going to use them?"
"No, Dustin, because you blew them out, and the Tsurani didn't have spare parts for that component."
He sheepishly replied, "Oh."
The New Exodus dropship bucked slightly as it followed the Siesatian vessel down into the atmosphere.

Dels ship touched down, and the Tsurani set up a camp quickly. Del was watching, and was happy in the professional way the Tsurani set up camp. He Felt the Brush of the Emperor On his mind, and initiated contact.
-Master, the Ships touched down, we do not knwo when we will be done, but I know now the Overmind can not reach this planet-
-Good, You are not to go back to the Tsurani Home system, when this is over kill the Tsurani and take the finds to the Dragon Ship. The Tsurani have lost, I am going to take the Dragons to a new world, and start the EMpire with the population of a world. The Tsurani will be killed, understand?-
-Yes Master-
Del looked shocked, so the Tsurani where to die, he told them, and they nodded without any problem. Perhaps that was worse, that the Tsurani did not mind. Del shook his head and sent a mind Net out. Nothing, he felt nothing.
"I can sence no minds in the area." He told the Siesatian "But they might be cloaking their pressance, does not really matter."

The New Exodus soldiers and drivers began unloading equipment from the dropship. Much of the gear had already been packed into the cargo bays of the hover trucks, and onto the railings of the scout car. Three soldiers would ride on top of each truck, while the command staff and science team would be in the vehicles' cabins. Everyone else would remain at the base-camp, which was being set up close to that of the Siesatians and Tsurani.
"Well, Captain, we made it," Dustin gloated, "And you thought I would get us killed."

"Hello Lane, Wonder If I could talk to you?" He said, in a casual Voice. "In Private."
Sarah wondered at the last phrase, but nodded, "Certainly, Del. But wha--"
She saw the Siesatian walk towards her and stumble, then examine the metal artifact. Curious as to what was holding his attention, she moved closer, then gasped as she recognized it.
"It looks almost human!"
At her startled statement, the xeno-anthropologist rushed over to examine the find.
OOC:Siesatia, the Xeno-anthropologist's findings are up to you to RP. He or she (I haven't decided, so it is up to you) is your character for the purposes of what is discovered.

-Lane, I will talk to you this way, thus we won't be over heard. I need you to take me to my home after this, the Tsurani are not allowed to surrvive the trip, so I need you to take me to my home. If you dissagree I will not be able to flee.-
When the Skeliton was uncovered, he walked over. Smoothly he walked over, and looked. He ordered one of the Tsurani over, and it arrived witha chitter. "What do you make of this?" He asked it. The Tsurani brought one of the Arm spines and scraped a bit of dirt off. "Not sure sir." It said in a high voice. "It is old, but i am not sure how Old." It looked at him. "Sorry."

The officer looked over at the skull. The now uncovered body was wearing some sort of suit, maybe battle armor. Looking at the backpack, he saw two canisters. Pulling them out, he handed them both to an aide.
"Looks like an energy source, get a team on it right away."
"Yessir."
"Excuse me, we don't have a good biological unit onboard, could you take the body?" he asked the Tsurani Commander."

OOC: I wasn't certain, but now I get it. This is right up my alley; thanks to an allied nation, my people have some limited understanding of this sort of thing, but not enough to ruin the story. This should be fun to RP.
IC: "Dr. Singh! Get over here!" Sarah shouted.
The bumbling old scientist slowly trudged forward, still looking at some contraption in his hands, rather than where he was walking. Surprisingly though, he managed to steer around every obstacle without difficulty.
Geniuses, Lane muttered in annoyance.
She then turned back to Delaware and gave him a covert thumbs up. Feel free to ride with us, she thought as openly as possible, Our FTL has improved, so it won't be a big problem.

The Tsurani nodded, and made a number of clicking sounds. An Alethrian, his bulk moving with a fluid grace, moved towards and carfully picked up the Body. They took it to a table in the Camp, and the Tsurani started to gather round. Their bodies made an unprenitrable circal around, as they washed the body. Their arm spines spilled a lightly corrosive acid onto the body, witch got rid of the dirt, making the body look as if it had just been washed. After this, the Tsurani started conducted tests, one drawing liquid out, another shaving away some of the bone, others shaving the armour. They used their bodies for most of this, although some tools where used, mainly scaples. They did their work slowly, making a report as they did. When they where done, they handed their findings to the Siesatian. THey read........

Dustin frowned and ###### his head to one side, "Bio-Etheric? Is that like Bio-Thaumic power?"
Sarah realized that the others might not recognize the term and explained, "One of our allies, Crystal Ireland, uses magic extensively. Our scientists found a way to generate electricity from the magic field that emanates from all living things. Lieutenant Knowles was wondering if this was similar."
Siesatia
20-11-2004, 02:23
"Indeed, we didn't know what it was at first, because it is such a rare form of energy, but it seems as if most if not every thing was powered by these OVOPAKs. Maybe even the city itself."
New Exodus
21-11-2004, 18:18
Sarah was surprised at this concept. While decent amounts of energy could be harnessed through the application of thaumic conversion, it was necessary to have highly magical lifeforms to harvest from. She had never imagined that energy might be gained from common life-forms.
Dr. Singh mumbled a little as he looked over the data that the different science teams had gathered, then mused quietly to himself as he examined the OVOPAK.
"It would seem," he muttered just loudly enough to be heard, "That the energy source is some sort of algae, which makes perfect sense when one considers that algae is easily grown in large quantities, and can be harvested for food as well as other properties. No doubt the citizenry of these cities kept massive vats which would serve as a source for both food and power, which of course..." His speech degenerated into a mumble again.
Dustin glanced at the hover trucks, obviously eager to get moving. "So, should we try driving around, see what else there is to find?"

One of the Alethrians moved towards one of the walls and grabbed its sword. It hit the thing, and was suprised the weapon bounced off with a metalic ring. Del ran over, creating a cut in the metal and studing the grain. After a few minutes, it was discovered that it was made of stone, which covered a layer of titanium. They cheaked a few more, and all three had the same results. After Del cheaked a few things, he came back.
"I don't belive it. The Entire city is made of a Titanium Alloy, I can't work out the other metal. The rock we see covering it was formed over the last thousand years, which is a few years after the man here musty have died." Del paused, contemplating. "I don't like this place, there is something in the mind channels, but it is not a sentinet Life, it is something else. Step with care." With that, he entered his own ship, to puzzle this out.

"Jesus Christ!" Dustin shouted, raising his assault rifle and sighting on the glowing shape.
Sarah blanched, "Dustin, don't fi--"
But her cry came too late, as he fired off the full clip. To everyone's horror, the rounds seemed to pass right through the creature.
OOC: I don't remember if rockets would pass through the spirits, but it is your choice as to whether or not they would work. In the meantime, I'll use something that I know for certain will work.
IC:
At this point, one of the drivers became slightly hysterical, and although none of the previous efforts to harm the creature had succeeded, he drew his PEP pistol and began to fire.
OOC: The PEP pistols and rifles are non-lethal energy weapons that create a concussive blast at the point of impact. In my opinion, they would have an effect like that of the Bio-Etheric rifles from the movie, but maybe only one-tenth the strength. Once again, the effect is up to you, Siesatia.
Oh, and would a regular laser have any effect, or should those simply pass through as well?

The captain looked up with wide eyes, before regaining himself, and grabbing the nearest officer, to run for the ship. The laser blast from the NE soldier hit the creature dead on, and it fell into a heap on the ground.
The captain stopped, and gave out his orders...

OOC: Lol, I put down a filler sentence, because I thought I would be able to come back and edit the post before anyone else saw it, but LT was faster on the draw. Oh well.
IC:
Dustin immediately pulled the other PEP rifles out of the hover trucks, while the soldiers stuffed useless projectile weapons into storage. The Pulsed Energy Projectiles had proven very useful, but lacked the power output of a normal laser. For that, Dustin redistributed the guns so that the combat troops were equipped with either a PEP rifle, two PEP pistols, or a Lancer shoulder-mounted laser.
Sarah, a pistol on either hip, walked up to the Siesatian captain. "Sir, since we don't know what that thing was, I propose we keep moving, on the chance that it was a scout of some sort. Our best bet to learn more would be some sort of civil head-quarters, which would likely be somewhere in the middle of this city."

Del smiled. He gestured to one of the Tsurani, who ran inside their ship, returning with a number of small looking weapons. The Child like Tsurani handed one out to all of his kind. He then ran inside and gave the Alethrians two Pulse swords each. The creature ran inside agian, and brought out a number of weapons, which it handed to del. Before taking them, Del moved towards the creature.
"Its mind is still eratic, it is strange, as if the thing is dead, but its mind continues to live." He felt strange, and immidiatly withdrew his mind. He moved to his weapons, and doned the helmate, with the Three Spirit Stones around the mind.

His men continued as if nothing had happened.
